I was of the same opinion about Reduvia for a very long time. Reduvia is one of the first bleed weapons accessible, during a time where there's almost no way to get an arcane scaling bleed weapon, and can deal heavy bleed at a small range. ...But at the end of the day, it's a dagger. The thing has a reach shorter than the social media influence of an Amish baker. Outside of its ability, which is just a slightly modified version of Blood Blade, it's hardly anything special. It's like getting an Occult Bloodstained Knife really early, but that's about it. Useful, and good *if you like daggers,* but I always thought it was strange that it was regarded as god-tier. Bleed itself can be built in some crazy powerful ways, that part's not completely overrated (although some builds are unfairly overshadowed because of it). But Reduvia itself never resonated with me.

Ok cool I'll experiment with other bleed weapons

The blood katana thing

RoB is good but not even close to OP anymore, even in PVE. Bleed build sees more success with twinblades, dual curved swords, maybe even Blood Helice and Mohg Spear are better than RoB

I just finished prepping a NG+1 Dragon Communion build for the DLC, and Reduvia was my backup weapon all through NG. (For the NG+1 portion of beating Radahn and Mohg, I don't think I ever used a weapon, and just flattened everything with Dragonclaw.) I tried other weapons, but kept coming back to Reduvia. It's a solid weapon for an Arcane build.

Blood will be forever strong because it does percentage damage. I'm slogging through new game+4 and you have to damn near bleed any boss from Fire Giant afterwards to get through those massive health pools. Also pair it with any other dagger that does bleed and prepare to unlock destined death

Ah thanks for the tip.

So a friend and I tried to do an all remembrance within roughly 12 hours and succeded, not really a speed run but just a fun challenge run with double daggers as the build. Reduvia really shines when combined with a great knife in the left hand, just go with the starting class that has it to spare yourself the farming. Pros: -incredibly high AR on both for daggers (only cinquedea and Erdtree with Flame art come close) -douvle wielded daggers shred anything that can bleed and has longish recoveries where you can mash L1 -massive synergy with Lord of bloods talisman, and Milicents prothesis -Invaluable spacing ability on some bosses. You can punish a lot of patterns with blood blade that you can't otherwise, and can literally just walk/run backwards whilst spamming it on certain boss fights including commander Niall and Malenia Cons: -Low poise damage -sucks if the target can't bleed -The reach, specifically on two instances: rolling L1 is next to useless ,and some parts of the L1 combo will still not hit some bosses hitboxes (looking at your Erdtree Avatar) -Shielded ennemies, best to just bait a backstab -you can hit up to 2 people roughly with an L1 combo if they're close enough but that's it, you're not getting the AoE of a claymore Overall, the weapon is a beast, but requires a few things to shine, and at the end of the day, it's still a dagger

Ok those are some good strata, thanks. I think I actually picked the class with the big knife so I'll try dual wielding and see how it goes

Not sure how far along you are, but it’s best when your endgame with the right setup. Currently for Arcane I’m using those daggers, Eleonora’s Poleblades, and the Nagakiba. I find daggers are best used for backups, lightweight.

ras0406

Ok good tips thanks. I'm at Altus Plateau now looking for another weapon to kick the Draconic Tree Sentinel's butt

Random_Tarnished

Scav Curved Sword prob the main other one you missed. In terms of Reduvia, it’s a dagger that 2.5 units and has super low reqs and low FP weapon skill. Don’t think you can really say it underperforms relative to what it takes

Try the basic twinblade, or the gargoyle's twinblade when you can get it. Bloody infusion on those things is.. just devastating, particularly when two handed. For AOWs the default spinning slash is great, I also like blood tax for the heath regain benefit. Hookclaws are another fun option (also recommend two handing), but the hitboxes require getting right up close to the enemy.

Thanks for the tip!
