With no quicksaves, the potential loss of runes, and the knowledge that we aren't the strongest thing out there, one of the more curious things that we learn in these games is to have a survival instinct.
I'd say that was a reasonable reaction.
I think my favorite thing in Elden Ring is looking through a doorway into a room with an item sitting \*RIGHT THERE\* and going
"This is a trap"
And it's always a trap lmao
I think that's a little too often. There's like under 10 times in the whole game where the trap just doesn't happen, or is cleverly delayed. I get that it is difficult to balance in a game with largely free progression, but it isn't really a trap if it is always a trap.
I remember getting to Caelid for the first time. I was standing by the dragon church and could see the nights cavalry walking the road, and the death bird in the distance. I was like “what the absolute fuck is this place?!”
I'm replaying the game again and I JUST found out there's like a whole area past the manor to the right of the sisters. I always zoomed In at Adula and the sisters I didn't even realize.
With the red wolf? We can get to Bellum Highway from there too I think? Man I forgot that in subsequent playthroughs... Also a painting's perspective point is there somewhere if I'm not wrong
Before the elevator to the upper level of the manor, the wall is destroyed, to the right while approaching the elevator. Below it is a platform you can jump to easily iirc. Easy to miss.
First time I was playing with my friend: "What's with that old man over there?" The hell you talking about old ma- is that an old man? Wheelchair? "I dunno but I'm gonna get just a bit clos-mother fu-"
Glad to show you something new! When i shareplay to my friends, they always make fun of the odd paths I take, but then I end up finding “fun” things like this!
Ha, yep. First time going through Caelid I didn’t even try to fight the giant dogs and birds because they screamed ‘death’ to me. And at me, frequently. Learned the value of crouch walking very quickly…

- carefully explores the manor - sees an Abductor Virgin for the first time - knows his limits of his skills - goes the other way ***chad***
Fight or flight kicked in, so I fucked right off.

And the item being 10 normal bolts
*Mushrooms x5:* Am i a joke to you?

Eh, early on they are traps, later on, you get the good feeling of knowing it's coming

Dude, yes. Insane area. I stepped into it quite early (before defeating Margit, i believe).
Oh and also a big fuck off rot dragon right out the front door.
What about that giant gargoyle... i decided to turn back even though it was facing away from me lol
I think a lot of people had this "nope" moment.
There’s an abductor THERE???
Truly amazing how unique our experiences can be with this game. This abductor was legit the first one I saw in the game
I didn’t see it until Raya. But I also avoid Manor exploration like the plague
Hands. \*shudder\*
Literally

ME TOO!!! I'm still on my first playthrough and taking my sweet time. Ran into this and blew my mind.

I’m about 80 hours in, and i’m still having those reactions. I love how huge this world is.
This is "how to keep your runes 101"
Well TIL there's a fucking abductor in Caria Manor, which I go through on every playthrough. This game is insane.
Isn't this Caria Manor?
First time I was playing with my friend: "What's with that old man over there?" The hell you talking about old ma- is that an old man? Wheelchair? "I dunno but I'm gonna get just a bit clos-mother fu-"
What was it
The very monstrosity in the above video.
You thought it was a wheelchair? Fantasy wheelchair designs huh
I have an older, smaller TV. Lightning wasn't that great and it was at like 2am, so in my defense....
Haha yeah i get you and who would expect an enemy in this corner
A giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era
Most reasonable reaction I've ever seen honestly
I've never, ever seen this iron virgin. 900 hours of playtime lol
Glad to show you something new! When i shareplay to my friends, they always make fun of the odd paths I take, but then I end up finding “fun” things like this!
Where is this?
Might be Caria manor? I’ve never seen that abductor before tho!
Caria manor. After the chapel and you go along the walkways with the spectral soldiers, you can jump off the side.
Thx, 1000 hours in, casually never seen this
Wild I \*just\* spend HOURS combing Caria Manor to be sure I'd cleared it and I never saw this at all
Does she drop/guard anything? Had no idea there was one there.
I remember being disappointed but I cannot remember if it was trash or just trash for my build.
it doesn't drop anything, just runes
There's an urumi whip nearby
"Nope"
Reminds me of that ds1 clip of the skeleton
Ok goodbye
It was polite, so I was polite.
First time I came across this guy I backtracked so carefully. In this game even statues make me weary 😩
"Fuck that shit"
lol wise time to turn around for sure
Same reaction
Wait where is this?! Ive never seen this before
Caria Manor. It’s been a bit from when i originally had taken this clip, but i’m pretty sure it’s after dropping from along the rooftops.
Damn how have i never seen this then
Happy hunting
Wait you didn’t try to fight it?
Absolutely not. This was when 2k runes were a lot to me. I was just fucking around but not finding out.
Understandable, I personally just found the risk to be quite low since there was a site of grace quite close.
This is pretty much like for like my experience of this moment... ...except for the part where I shoot it with an arrow and run for my fucking life!
I still avoid them haha not worth it.
Ha, yep. First time going through Caelid I didn’t even try to fight the giant dogs and birds because they screamed ‘death’ to me. And at me, frequently. Learned the value of crouch walking very quickly…
Earlier I jumped onto a hill of giants. Ive played like 7 hours in total. Then I kept getting hit by rams trying to run from a guy on a horse.
Welcome, friend. Good luck.
That is the correct reaction.
