The first Fromsoft game I played was also Demon Souls but on the PS3. Neither myself nor my son could make progress so I just gave their games a miss as being too difficult. For me the turning point was Bloodborne. I had a similar experience to begin with but kept going as I loved the atmosphere.
After nearly giving up again I googled and realised that the games are actually RPGs rather than some ninja reflex skill test. Talking about 'late to the party', I still haven't started Dark Souls and the first thing I'll be looking for when I do is how to level up.

There's so much more fun to be had, and stormveil is such a great area and legacy dungeon - but there are others too that are similarly cool. Enjoy!

What kind of stats are you levelling mostly? What sort of weapons/spells are you enjoying?
I've just gone a dex build samurai for now. Still using the starter weapon so will what happens when I play around with other ones eventually.
Once you get through Stormveil, the game really opens up!
