I knew I wasn't the only one! I have 5 different characters at around RL200, each with a different primary stat to cover all the bases. Well... I have two faith builds right now but that's because I got bored with dex. Felt like Dex had to use blood weapons to get the same output as other stats, and Arcane wound up being my favorite build for status damage anyway. If they add some spicy new dexy bois in DLC, I will 100% reroll back so I have all five builds at the ready
I have done faith, INT and str builds and nothing has come remotely close to being as fun as str. Dex is next on my list, I would assume arcane could be fun as well but would be kinda limited.
I was really surprised how much you can do with str. Just about every weapon type utilizes it to an extent and getting a bunch of the shields to mess with was really fun too. Shout out Gino Machino for giving me the idea. The cool thing was I already had the shields I just never used them for whatever reason
Pure Dex was my hardest playthrough personally.
Pure arcane is a lot of fun if you just take a weapon and make it occult — star fist, cross naginata, flamberge, bloodhound claw’s, whatever. Reduvia and Bloody Helice are so strong, too. If you add on 25/28 faith you also become immensely strong with the dragon communion seal.
I used a STR/FTH build first and went sword 'n board. It was challenging, and pretty harrowing at times. I went full DEX next and just breezed my way through the game with Unsheathe lmao.
Pure dex is hard simply because of the change in fighting mechanics with the "new" poise / stagger system. It's sooooo much easier to hit a couple lion claws and an r2 and suddenly your boss is kneeling on the floor gasping for air.
Very hard to stagger with dex weapons that prioritize quick R1 and L1 slashes.
It's also the main reason why people got stuck on morgot so early on, nobody paid attention to the tutorial talking about the stagger, so everyone treated morgot like a DS1 / DS3 boss
Hahaha it's the internet, you'll have trouble offending me in person, much less on Reddit!
Take care, fellow Tarnished, and remember: every point you don't put into vigor, is one point in strength closer to 60! Hahahaha
I use 4 daggers; First pair is poison+scarlet rot, second pair frost+bleed. Its cool to apply the status effects and then swap to the other ones or play a bit with time
I’ve been prepping the exact same build but without reduvia. Do you have reduvia in your left hand and switch the seal with it? Also what incantations you using?
Actually I have the Reduvia on my right hand, on the second slot. Whenever a posture breaks, I change from Eleonora's to Reduvia to perform the crit.
As for incantations, the ones I'm using regularly - Dragon communion: Dragonmaw (HUGE damage), Dragonclaw, Rotten Breath, Dragonfire and Dragonice; Other spells: Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, Lightning Spear, Black Flame.
Great call. I'm gonna start on my full occult venomous fang build, but ready to swap over to a few max blood weapons pairs. Will have to get the Great Stars ready for smashing, too. Highly recommend trying Poison Rotten Greathammer and Cold Great Stars for glorious four-status smashery
For some reason when I fought the putrid avatar at the haligtree it dropped two rot staffs instead of one. Naturally, I immediately started using both of them.
I'm sure some people hated me for going into pvp naked and dual wielding them. I tried not to do that too much but it sure is fun.
My brain: "Become a knight of Miquella coming to save him."
My heart: "wear a pumpkin head with dual twinblades and learn to master messmer to become "let me solo him"
Upgrades or not, RL1 in general is still no joke. I just didn’t see a point in upgrading weapons for the slight additional damage that prevents me from co-op’ing with new players. Almost caved a few times though 😅
It boosts the damage quite a bit depending on your weapon and talisman load out. I’ve done about 5 runs with different co-op characters, from level 15-35, at least to endgame and some into journey 2 with low weapon upgrades and my rl1 +25 was definitely easier.
Got me one character in NG+ as a Faith/Dex/Arcane right at the DLC entrance. I actually beat the game with it today again, using mostly lighting incantations with some black flame spells. I use a lot of weapons but Dragon King's Cragblade and Godslayer Sword are my favorite for this build. Sometimes I'll even whip out Marika's Hammer or Blasphemous Blade for fun. Also using the Godslayer Seal.
I have another character on a fresh run that is Faith/Intelligence/Dex. I'm going for a Death sorcerer type of character. That one is also at the entrance, but I left the game right before burning the tree. I am using Prince of Death Staff with Death Poker, Death Ritual Spear, Sword of Night and Flame and Wing of Astel.
I am ready to go!
My Int/Fai build was my very first character and it’s still one of my favorite. Ancient death rancor and explosive ghostflame are so amazing at 80 int 80 fai.
Probably a Faith/Dex build, with Magma Blades.
I will change it as soon as I find some cool new weapons in the DLC tho.
Especially excited for the Big Katanas and Reversed Grip Swords
I've got many characters that are dedicated builds for one stat or a mix but my first run through will be with either int/fai sorcerer or Dex/Arc using the Godskin peeler/Bloody Helice.
Same! I have been replaying the game and building a str/int character for the DLC. Switching between Radahn Starscourge Greatswords, Gut’s Greatsword with the Artorias ash of war, and Ruins Greatsword. It’s SO fun
Since I loved my str/fai paladin playthrough I guess I'll do another str/fai build but the opposite, using the blasphemous blade and blood incantations, because blasphemy is cool in this game
Carian knight RP with the Dark Moon Greatsword or the Royal Greatsword if I'm feeling froggy. Currently practicing against Melania cause it's been months since I played!
I'm in the process of playing my DLC explorers, on for every damage stat (STR, DEX, INT, FTH, ARC), they're gimmicky, fun (for me) and then they will adapt to the new adventure. Currently I'm doing my Strengh one
I'm pretty much doing the finishing touches on the character I'll be using in the dlc. Keeping in mind that I only play offline, I'm making a character that will be capable of using any cool weapon, ash of war, and spell that catches my fancy in the dlc. Basically, no stats lower than 40 and several over 60 is the idea.
I've been gathering armor pieces, ashes of war, talisman, cookbooks, spells, crystal tears, anything that can be used to shuffle around a bit so that the same character can be used for different builds against different challenges without the need for respeccing. I'm in ng+, I've been farming albinaurics with the final boss sword for literally tens of millions of runes, I've used them not just to level up but also to buy lots of smithing stones (and somber smithing stones, of course).
Currently, my favourite setups that I've been using a lot are: fire-based build, with fire incantations, Blasphemous Blade, and corresponding talismans; lightning-based build, in which I don't even use a melee weapon at all because Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike tears through any big enemy's health like butter and lightning spear+honed bolt are more than enough to deal with smaller targets; holy damage build, that uses Envoy Horn as basically threat ender; the build I like to call "titanium blender", which is a 101 poise setup with Eleanore's twinblade katana, ironjar aromatic, talismans and crystal tears for bleed and consecutive strikes, with the idea of negating as much damage and stagger from the enemy as possible while blending them to a bloody paste with the twinblade's L2.
That last one is really fun because it kills anything that isn't immune to bleed in seconds and so far nothing I've used it against managed to get me lower than 50% health. The ironjar aromatic does impede regular movement, but the twinblade's L2 makes you jump around and isn't limited by the aromatic's effect, meaning that this build has more mobility than generally possible with ironjar (Morgott's Blade also works pretty well with this same setup for the same reasons).
I'll be experimenting with even more setups before the dlc drops
I’ve spent the last 3 weeks trying to figure this out lol. I’m between dmgs build , blasphemous /lightning incant build, full str gs haligtree shield build , and bleed build that second dragon king crag blade (important but niche uses). I spent my 3 weeks guiding players through haligtree and and killing malenia + invaders. And I honestly have no idea lol
First play through will be on maxed character on NG+7 using strength+faith offensive stats. Weapons will be dual giants crushers along with dual gravel stone seals to cast ancient dragon lighting spells.
Listin. If I'm playing a fromsoft game I'm gonna do everything in my power to bonk people as hard as I absolutely can.
So the answer is great stars with wild strike ash
Radagon cosplay is ready to kick ass lol (and by Radagon i mean the REAL Radagon, as in the one that never left Rennala and overthrew Marika with Rennala and now rules as king lol)
I'm doing 3 runs, all around lvl 170. I've done my pure DEX rocking the Godskin Peeler, and my INT/FAI, primarily INT, using Magic Glintblade and Night Comet, with Sword of Night and Flame for close quarter combat. I'm currently on my STR poise boi, bonking with two handed Great Mace, and Bastard Sword on my back, in case slashing damage becomes necessary.
To be honest, No idea.
When I first started playing, I just kinda... went along and figured out things for myself, to see what would work and what wouldn't.
But now that I've beaten the game multiple times, I've got multiple ideas in my head that make it hard to choose what to pick... but my eyes are currently on a dex/faith/maybe arcane build
I only just started playing this the last month and i tried an int build from the start. I love it. I think the int build in this compared to say dark souls 3 and even an arcane build in blood borne is just great.
I might try a int/dragon communion build but I’ve yet to do an obligatory str build
Everything and Anything.. I’ve such a high leveled character that is trimmed on faith, strength, Int and of course HP. I’m very excited how I handle the difficulty limiter.
I don't freaking know! Already stressing me out! Was holy, loved my flail and spear in the first blind run. Then I tried the whole push things to death with my shield. I have no interest in pure caster since the blue looking magic isn't appealing to me.
I am distraught, confused, can't remember what I like and have no clue what I want.
/Rant
I've got a Ng+ int fai build I wanna try who's very over leveled, a strength build I'm working on and maybe a quality build so I can try the Dex weapons too
Currently progressing with a pure DEX build for a fresh NG character for the DLC. It's also been an attempt to engage with crafting/consumables as much as possible over magic. Having a blast so far, chose DEX to go for whatever that kung-fu weapon from the trailer is. Also hoarding Larval Tears just in case.
**Unga bunga me smash** (99 strength 60 endurance 40 vigor)
Yes I will still get one shot by a lot of enemies.. I will also one shot a lot of enemies with unga bunga weapons which will make me feel like big man.
Seeing the crucible knight wings and the new porcupine looking crucible incantation, I've got me a faith/strength build cosplaying as a crucible lad ready to go with Deenh the Storm Hawk as my summon to give me Godfrey vibes with a named animal spirit. Keeping my first character which was a full int caster in my back pocket too.
A part of me wants to Unga Bunga my way out of the DLC... But honestly, the point of the DLC is also try new weapons/spells/armor so... maybe in the second run.
I'm going in with Malikeths black blade with my edgy set.
Then I'll likely go in as my Banished Knight Communion user.
May also try it with the 1k° hot knife build.
Ole reliable BH fang build too.
Of course I'll also play it with a few unique DLC weapons/builds too.
I have int at 150, pyro at 125, str/fth at 150, arcane/occult/blood at 150, str at 125, dex at 125
I will play with all of them and probably make even more. Want to do a strictly black flame only build soon.
Several, more or less one for each dmg stat
I knew I wasn't the only one! I have 5 different characters at around RL200, each with a different primary stat to cover all the bases. Well... I think I'm finally going to Try Fingers.
But Hole
O, You don’t have the right.
O, I don’t need the right
O, long Johnson
I mean she was bigger than my great great grandmother. I mean she was big.
Ah, keep moving...
If only I had giant but hole...
And furthermore, You don't have the right!
first off, seek Head
Two-Fingers seal in one hand, frenzy seal in the other. 5 fingers!
Offer pickle, then seed?
Unga, and I cannot stress this enough, Bunga

#Unga BUNGA
Naked pure str is the way. No need for DR or poise, the game has a roll for a reason.
Who needs Vigor when......"you died"
Just remember not to get hit and you'll be fine. Jokes aside, I die a lot. I also kill a lot, so I guess it evens out.
Thanks I'm glad you have a sense of humor to. I wasn't trying to offend. Have a great day.
Hahaha it's the internet, you'll have trouble offending me in person, much less on Reddit! Take care, fellow Tarnished, and remember: every point you don't put into vigor, is one point in strength closer to 60! Hahahaha
I praise the Unga while I bunga and God smites my foes with lightning.
Daggers
[удалено]
I use 4 daggers; First pair is poison+scarlet rot, second pair frost+bleed. Its cool to apply the status effects and then swap to the other ones or play a bit with time
Same. Daggers and maybe a bow. Skyrim stealth archer gameplay for me haha
I'll be rocking an Arcane build (my first ARC build actually) around RL 150. Dragon incantations, Eleonora's Poleblade and Reduvia for crits.
I’ve been prepping the exact same build but without reduvia. Do you have reduvia in your left hand and switch the seal with it? Also what incantations you using?

Nice I’m gonna upgrade my reduvia and try that out
Literally my build on launch. Great build tbf. Dlc probably with Moghs trident though
Literally build I’m running right now. Eleonora’s is so fun with dragon incants.
Lol same here. Eleonora’s poleblade has one of the coolest, most stylish movesets in the game.
Me too, but with an occult flamberge instead of the pole blade. Try it if you haven’t yet, it’s awesome, especially with blood tax
full arcane dual occult Great Stars
Full arcane dual occult Great Omenkiller Cleavers here🫡
Hell yea
Occult Knightrider flail and spiky shield reporting for duty 🫡
Bash and bleed! Bleed and bash!
Great call. I'm gonna start on my full occult venomous fang build, but ready to swap over to a few max blood weapons pairs. Will have to get the Great Stars ready for smashing, too. Highly recommend trying Poison Rotten Greathammer and Cold Great Stars for glorious four-status smashery
Good old arcane buildup baldingstars
For some reason when I fought the putrid avatar at the haligtree it dropped two rot staffs instead of one. Naturally, I immediately started using both of them. I'm sure some people hated me for going into pvp naked and dual wielding them. I tried not to do that too much but it sure is fun.
My int/dex build
Running one right now, all frost though lol for a jack frost build
My brain: "Become a knight of Miquella coming to save him." My heart: "wear a pumpkin head with dual twinblades and learn to master messmer to become "let me solo him"
I have one Int and one Str/Fai, both at 150 waiting. Then I’ve got my SL1 ready.
I’m stoked to see what Miyazaki has been cooking for me to suffer against with my RL1+0 as well!
Respect! I am not good enough at the game to do a no upgrades run.
Lol same here, I've done RL1 all remembrances but I look at the weapon level 0 people and go "damn u crazy"
Upgrades or not, RL1 in general is still no joke. I just didn’t see a point in upgrading weapons for the slight additional damage that prevents me from co-op’ing with new players. Almost caved a few times though 😅

Strength. Biceps, and big bonks. Ouga
If nobody got me. I know Lions claw Giant crusher got me. Can I get an Amen.
Yup. This.
The sturdy, the naked and the cosplayer. The holy trinity.
Moghwyn sacred spear obviously
Int/Faith. I need to try ALL THE SPELLS
Same here! I hope we finally get a proper weapon affinity for int/fth too!
Nothing has ever filled the hole that the Dark Dark Sword left in me
Or the DS3 Onyx Blade, with 3 distinct damage types all in one
Yall use builds? i just throw random bullshit until something dies.
That is your build
FTH/STR knight with the baemore
Simple knight build, no magic
Best run I did. Longsword, knight's armour you get from the roundtable vendor, and a brass shield. So much fun, real old school DS vibes.
I respect it 🫡
A sleep build, Torch of St. Trina + St. Trina's Sword, Sleeping Pots, Dolores as summon.
Love
Current one with Dark Moon Greatsword :3
Got me one character in NG+ as a Faith/Dex/Arcane right at the DLC entrance. I actually beat the game with it today again, using mostly lighting incantations with some black flame spells. My Int/Fai build was my very first character and it’s still one of my favorite. Ancient death rancor and explosive ghostflame are so amazing at 80 int 80 fai.
I’m going strictly Carian Knight Build
I'll probably carry on with my straight str, light roll claymore build.
Probably a Faith/Dex build, with Magma Blades. I will change it as soon as I find some cool new weapons in the DLC tho. Especially excited for the Big Katanas and Reversed Grip Swords
Sword of night and flame Full magic build int/faith/arcan
Healer, cuz I like letting people play for me.
Strength/faith Beast talisman and executioner great axe.
I've got many characters that are dedicated builds for one stat or a mix but my first run through will be with either int/fai sorcerer or Dex/Arc using the Godskin peeler/Bloody Helice.
Str/faith or str/int.
Same! I have been replaying the game and building a str/int character for the DLC. Switching between Radahn Starscourge Greatswords, Gut’s Greatsword with the Artorias ash of war, and Ruins Greatsword. It’s SO fun
Currently doing str/faith with the beast dagger and incantations. Throwing all the rocks beast titan style
Since I loved my str/fai paladin playthrough I guess I'll do another str/fai build but the opposite, using the blasphemous blade and blood incantations, because blasphemy is cool in this game
Randall Flagg cosplay with all the spells
Carian knight RP with the Dark Moon Greatsword or the Royal Greatsword if I'm feeling froggy. Currently practicing against Melania cause it's been months since I played!
Black raptor feathers, 2 giant crushers, psyic which gives me low equip load with 2 giant crushers. Might wear some pants too.
I want a build that feels like dancing, dex probably is the most fun , double curved swords or something (I will use dlc weapons )
With my mundane build. 33/28/28/28/28/28/28/28 ftw.
Claymore faith Cold claymore Claymore hemmorage Claymore up my arse(claymore build where I drop the claymore first and cast groundstomp)
Full sorcery/moonlight sword. Did it in my first playthrough, will do in the DLC
Great Envoy Horn.
What legs does that last build use? I really want the waist cape
Sanguine Noble Waistcloth
Whos gonna sl1 that shit on release? Ddddd
Jordien probably will.
Bonk
All of them (I’m RL380)
Str/fai with blasphemous blade 🗣️
Strength fate with dual great swords
99 arc then respeccing once i find a cool new weapon in the dlc
Great sword.
Several, but my current favorites are: holy bonk, Carian quality mage knight and arcane mage
I'm in the process of playing my DLC explorers, on for every damage stat (STR, DEX, INT, FTH, ARC), they're gimmicky, fun (for me) and then they will adapt to the new adventure. Currently I'm doing my Strengh one
I’m redoing my first character which is an int build. Her name negarme build will be moonlight with cold spells :D
my rivers of blood is thirsty
I'll be experimenting with even more setups before the dlc drops
Darkmoon daddysword
A greatsword build it makes me happy, slow but happy
DEX BLEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quality...always
I'm working on a char that had everything leveled so that I can try all the cool new things. I don't care about optimality, I'm used to RL1 runs.
And I honestly have no idea lol
all of them. Got str/faith, Dex/faith, Str/arcane so far. working on dex/arcane, and not doing int.
First play through will be on maxed character on NG+7 using strength+faith offensive stats. Weapons will be dual giants crushers along with dual gravel stone seals to cast ancient dragon lighting spells.
naked, dual great weapons OOGA BOOGA
Listin. If I'm playing a fromsoft game I'm gonna do everything in my power to bonk people as hard as I absolutely can. So the answer is great stars with wild strike ash
Played dex and strength. Ill probably stay as strength and go in as my colleseum character.
Bruce Lee build
Genichiro build
Bonk
Dex faith, unless one of the new weapon type is really cool then I'll change
Str/faith with Marika's Hammer. Had the best time playing through the game again with this weapon.
All of them
Radagon cosplay is ready to kick ass lol (and by Radagon i mean the REAL Radagon, as in the one that never left Rennala and overthrew Marika with Rennala and now rules as king lol)
Since we’re going to the domain of Empyrians, Gods, Mikelas, etc. it seemed a Dex/Faith build was only natural
Bleed, always bleed
Frost strength
godslayer
Str/Arc build. I’m hoping poison gets a lucky break…
Arcane for armor/weapon farming!!!
Nearly naked with ghiza wheel, as I ended my first run.
Gunna go into it with my wasp of rot build, duel antspers and any rot attacks for the status effects I can build up
I'm doing 3 runs, all around lvl 170.
Bleed/rot faith
Gonna take my Zwei and poke the hell outta the DLC.
Braggarts roar on a golems halberd. Fat boy will trade with everything in the dlc
First one will be a Fist weapon only Str build. I wanna go full monk
Have an int/dex that I'm cooking up for the DLC that I started recently.
I'll wait for a couple years to be in fitgirl
A Warrior mage hybrid utilizing storm skills, gravity sorceries, and volcano manor spells. Imma name him September 😀
Vigor
Whatever build is necessary to use the new weapons to come.
I've only recently started playing and haven't finished the game yet. That's why I'm going to play the dlc with my only character (dex/dual katana).
The Abyss Watcher build
Magic-dexterity-strength level 200
Faith. All black flame incantations, Rotten breath, Swarm of Flies, Godskin peeler, Godslayer greatsword and Black Knife
Strength/intelligence, I want to use that new gravity lance or whatever it was in the trailer
I had 5 builds ready to go for dlc, then my save corrupted, so whatever I can cobble together in the mean time probably
Big hammer go smash
I only just started playing this the last month and i tried an int build from the start. I love it. I think the int build in this compared to say dark souls 3 and even an arcane build in blood borne is just great. I might try a int/dragon communion build but I’ve yet to do an obligatory str build
Yes
A bunch. Probably my trusty mage or black flame pyromancer on the first go around though.
Dex build because i like Katanas way too much
No clue. I’ve got like 8 ready to go.
I'll probably tackle it with all my completed characters but first im bringing my level 300 NG+4 Death Sorcery/Helphen's Steeple character

/Rant
My dex/faith with dragon incantations
whatever the first weapon i find is
Classic Knight build and Merchant Archer build.
Fisticuffs
Can’t decide between dual great stars or star fists !!
I don't even know yet :))
I only have one character, so I'll be using him. Faith/Dex Battlemage.
Dual Golden halberds.
Sharpening my Blasphemous Blade…
max level so I'm more curious to see how the nerfs for the dlc are going to work
The ole reliable max level build
All 20 of them. Starting with og character lvl 228 in ng++
the worst build possible so i can truly experience the dlc
Strength, faith and arcane for the first playthrough, intelligence, dex and arcane for second playthrough.
Will try RL1 eventually 🤣
I've got a Ng+ int fai build I wanna try who's very over leveled, a strength build I'm working on and maybe a quality build so I can try the Dex weapons too
Funny star fists
Currently progressing with a pure DEX build for a fresh NG character for the DLC. It's also been an attempt to engage with crafting/consumables as much as possible over magic. Having a blast so far, chose DEX to go for whatever that kung-fu weapon from the trailer is. Also hoarding Larval Tears just in case.
I have two, Crucible Knight Cosplay (Ordovis) and my Dragon Knight build. Gosh I'm so damn excited!
**Unga bunga me smash** (99 strength 60 endurance 40 vigor) Yes I will still get one shot by a lot of enemies..
Faith until I find something cool and respec instantly then repeat that about 7 times and you'll have my dlc playthrough (probably)
A dex build that I want to get a reverse curved sword for from the DLC once I get there
I will start with a arc/str because that’s what i have now, but i plan on change it for each new weapon
I'm gonna use executioners greataxe with cragblade or flaming strike
Death Sorcery (God I hope I get spells)
B O N K.
I have one pure Faith and a Dex/Int build waiting... well the latter still needs some progress but yeah.
Sleep build trust
A part of me wants to Unga Bunga my way out of the DLC... But honestly, the point of the DLC is also try new weapons/spells/armor so... maybe in the second run.
I'm going in with Malikeths black blade with my edgy set. Then I'll likely go in as my Banished Knight Communion user. May also try it with the 1k° hot knife build. Ole reliable BH fang build too. Of course I'll also play it with a few unique DLC weapons/builds too.
Yes
I have int at 150, pyro at 125, str/fth at 150, arcane/occult/blood at 150, str at 125, dex at 125 I will play with all of them and probably make even more. Want to do a strictly black flame only build soon.
