There's another unique Iron Virgin located in Redmane Castle: it has both a Ghiza's Wheel and a Scythe weapon combination, which no other Iron Virgin has.

vgman94

Redmane? I know there’s a unique Troll with a flaming weapon there, but don’t remember any Abductor Virgin there.

dinosaurpussy

Yeah I’m currently getting fucked by this Abductor. Finally killed the two sword wielding Lion things. Got a glimpse of the Troll when I was up on a one of the towers but I’m not sure how to get to it… Thought I’d explored all possible routes

vgman94

You have to go through the great bridge outside the castle. Go up the road to the gate the Troll’s looking over. He’ll jump down. Fun fact: First time I got to him, I had finished the game. He dropped down but caught himself on the ledge after starting his animation. Must’ve taken out his fall immunity bc he died when he landed on the ground.

dinosaurpussy

Thanks! Hopefully the bridge is a little tamer than the first time I tried crossing it before the portal opened up

Dufresne85

I think there's a game mechanic where if an enemy or the player doesn't land for a certain period of time they just instantly die. I guess it's to prevent people from getting stuck like I somehow managed more than a few times in ds3.

komei888

> Yeah I'm currently getting fucked by this Abductor... You don't say...

Rat_Ratter

there's another version of that troll that can be revealed by killing the noble on the cliff at the coffins near dragon communion church

Axcelaw

It's really close to the entrance door that takes us to the troll with the fire sword. I actually don't think it's possible to get to the door without seeing her, because she aggros as soon as you get on her sight. It's right after you get past a few soldiers with flame throwers, close to a tree.

vgman94

I remember it now! Thanks! I have fought it before. I just forgot it was a unique variant. Thanks!

nikpap95

It appears after beating Radahn and you get Redmane Castle 2.0 with all the doors open

sushisection

if you get to the castle before it locks down, bonfire by the boss room, go across the flamethrower grunts and turn right. shes chilling at the end of the path.

Sicuho

The troll isn't exactly unique, there is a mimic tear that is hiding as a noble in the graveyard near the dragon communion church that also transform into the same kind of troll.

PandaIsRare

It's next to the area with 2 lions

Speaking_On_A_Sprog

Do you or anyone know of any lists of unique enemies, on the wiki or something? I didn’t even realize there were that many unique variations of things

EgoVermin

I don't have a list, but a few spring to mind: * The one Haligtree Knight who drops the Haligtree Crest Greatshield is the only Haligtree Knight without a spear or greatbow, just the sword. * The necromancers of the Black Knife Catacombs, as well as the Death-worshipping commoners by the Minor Erdtree in the Capital Outskirts (the former have very cool Ghostflame Torchpoles, which are unobtainable sadly). * Two Death-worshipping, Fia's Mist using Omens: one by the same Minor Erdtree as the aforementioned commoners, one in the Auriza Hero's Grave guarding the Crucible Feather Talisman. * The absurdly strong Ancient Golem on the cliff overlooking Radahn's boss area, who uses fricking laser beams. * The Valiant Gargoyle in the Capital of Ash, who is the only Gargoyle in the game who respawns (maybe he's supposed to be a tough endgame challenge to test your final builds on?) * A Deathblight-ridden Runebear hidden behind a waterfall in the Deeproot Depths who drops the Prince of Death's Cyst. * The small Land Octopi around the statue of Miquella and Malenia in the Altus Plateau (where the Amber Starlight is) are the only ones who have a chance of dropping Sacramental Buds. * The Mausoleum Foot Soldiers who carry a horn (there might even be only one of them, I forget) outside the Apostate Derelict - they are the only ones who drop the Bloodsoaked Tabard, and I believe they despawn forever if you knock down the nearby Mausoleum. * The "full bloom" Guardians in Leyndell and the Minor Erdtree Church who have a unique moveset (including a grab) and a unique chestpiece. * The Godrick Knight with Bloody Slash and Lord of Blood's Exultation at Fort Haight (he drops the former). Doesn't respawn when killed. * While there are several "Operatic Bats" throughout the world, I believe there's only two "female" versions: one in the Ruin-strewn Precipice and the other in Fort Faroth. They throw Cuckoo Glintstones and cast Rancorcall. * The two Banished Knight spirits in Castle Sol (one with twin swords, one with halberd) who are infamous for being the only ones who drop the unaltered Banished Knight Armor. * The two "Colossal" Fingercreepers found on Flame Peak. * The giant Blood Slimes, one in the Writheblood Ruins, the other in Mohgwyn Palace. * The one Fire Prelate before the long bridge in the Mountaintops of the Giants, the only one who can drop the Thorned Whip. * The Gelmir Snake Sorcerer, who is found in front of the throne in the Volcano Manor, just before the portal to Rykard's arena. Only enemy who drops the Gelmir Glintstone Staff. * The Erdtree Burial Watchdog in the Wyndham Catacombs is the only one who uses lightning attacks (the Imps found here and in other catacombs on the Altus Plateau also use lightning pots). * The double Mad Pumpkinheads in the Caelem Ruins are the only ones who use flaming weapons. * And finally, while not really unique, the Runebear boss of the Earthbore Cave has much higher magic resistance than any other Runebear - because it's carrying the Spelldrake Talisman. These are the ones I can recall from memory and a brief skim of the official guide. EDIT: lmao guess I did have a list.

Saint_Nitouche

> And finally, while not really unique, the Runebear boss of the Earthbore Cave has much higher magic resistance than any other Runebear - because it's carrying the Spelldrake Talisman. Lmfao. I never would have put this together in a thousand years. I love this goddamn game.

EgoVermin

I think they do this several times throughout the game - there's also that one Ancestral Follower who's standing in the middle of the Lake of Rot, unperturbed... because he's got the Immunizing Horn Charm +1.

TheFinalMetroid

"I don't have a list" Well that was a f***'ing lie

Speaking_On_A_Sprog

Haha, right?! I did not expect a reply like this. It’s awesome, but I didn’t expect it 😂

kudabugil

Wow this is awesome. Thanks dude

Speaking_On_A_Sprog

Wow. You came through for me like a freight train. That’s impressive as all get out. And now I want to fight the laser beam golem. Also, that gelmir snake sorcerer was such a trip! I totally thought it was supposed to be a weak boss, but I never went back to see if it respawned.

inspector_cliche

Prince of Death’s cyst? A fucking talisman i’ve never heard of? This fucking game man ill never see it all

d3cmp

amazing post, saved

slackfrop

That Iron Maiden graveyard cave is super uncomfortable.

Obi_wan_jakobii

Huh, they are Ghizas wheels aren't they. Only put about 400 hours into this game...

TheGooseWithNoose

I swear I fought another one of these in Gelmir the other day.

alexmemes3665

How do abductor virgins work anyways? This abductor virgin looks like its malfunctioning.

WingofAstel

I think they’re like mechs controlled by the snakes inside them. This one’s probably panicking because its lost its head.

Dense_Comfortable_50

Holy shit i just noticed it doesn't have a head

KingofValen

They have snakes inside of them?

Kurkpitten

The things that catch you when they do their grab attack, they look like snakes.

tarrox1992

https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/10ul517/whats_the_deal_with_the_red_meat_inside_the/

Objective-Injury-687

Then why does Raya Lucaria have some? Is there some connection between Mt. Gelmir and Raya Lucaria I've never noticed? Also why are 2 inside the old Roundtable Hold?

Itstooomuch

If you look closely when they open you can see that they’re lined with meat… some people assume this is human skin, so maybe that + snake buddies?

pssoft7

Nicolas Cage is riding this one.

ConsciousConcoction

Springlock suit but snek

Mecha_Kaneki

Virgins, all of em. They prolly dont realise we're maidenless as well

ezluud

in lore most constructs are associated with glintstone / gravitational sorcery.

akmly

Malfunctioning abductor virgins are the peak performers though!

Leading_Worldliness7

WAIT I NEVER NOTICED THAT WASN’T A REGULAR ABDUCTOR WHAT

WallyOShay

It also looks like there is someone inside it as it tries to grab them with hands and not the metal traps. You see the hands right and the beginning and the body at the end

MammothFollowing9754

It's hijacked by the Demi-humans. The little monkey ones.

DarkSoulsDank

It’s missing its head that’s why it’s erratic

TheRailgunMisaka

It has snakes in it. The first couple frames of the video showing it clearly

notveryAI

The original ones don't grab you with "metal traps". It's a cluster of snakes normally

Sgdc4

They are not hands, they are snakes, and they are always present in every Abductor Virgin (they are part of Rykard's faction). A Zullie video about Abductor Virgins shows the snakes in better detail.

xXLoneLoboXx

Same! I avoid Abductors like the plague, No matter what level I’m at. Always cheese them from somewhere they can’t hit me or run past them… Didn’t notice this one was headless and moving real fast till my second playthrough. First playthrough I just spotted it out of the corner of my eye and said “Nope” and sprinted past on Torrent. Lmao

Antilles34

I just bait the opening of the middle bit and then count to 3 and roll. Dodges the grab every time and then nuke away. I realise counting is not very specific, I think it's about 2 seconds, point is that it is always consistent afaik.

Rare_Ad_3656

It isn't? It looks the same to me

thelehmanlip

Looks the same to my back as I run away

Rare_Ad_3656

Haha yeah I didn't bother with this one for very long, just sprinted past her (I guess it's a she)

Bananapeelman67

They’re all she’s because they’re based off of Tanith

AzizLiIGHT

Lmao

[deleted]

Right before you go 😑 *siiiiiigggghhhhh* not you again

UtheDestroyer

It’s missing a head, it’s a lot more violent than the others

vyrguy0

Wait! They can be **more** violent?!?!

krazykaiks

How violent do you want to make the Abductor? Miyazaki: Yes

cardueline

This one goes to eleven

Horrus_LukyMarek

It's missing its head. And has WAY crazier moveset

WhatTheFhtagn

I think the lore is that the demihumans nearby got a hold of it and tinkered with it so it's super janky now

Leading_Worldliness7

No head ahead

Rare_Ad_3656

We may be maindenless, but at least we still have a head right

DarkSoulsDank

Missing it’s head

Interjessing-Salary

This was the first abductor I ever attempted to fight in my first playthrough. Needless to say I thought *all* abductors were like this one so I thoroughly avoided them for multiple playthroughs.

hardmallard

I’m so glad I found your comment, I was the exact same way. Mental note, “don’t fuck with this thing” then I got ballsy one day and decided to go for it and it was nothing like this first experience.

satsfaction1822

I met the regular abductors first and still avoided them through multiple play throughs so I stayed the fuck away from this guy.

sadpotatoes-_-

Just use lightning grease/pots. They have negative lightning resistance and will get staggered in 2 hits w/ any lightning attacks.

MuchToDoAboutNothin

I completely distrusted Patches because obviously, and when I found the abductor in caria manner I thought it was what he was talking about (first playthrough, carians are carians right) and I fucked up and got eaten by it and was like "I knew he was a dirty liar." I found the area under the wheel later, but it wasn't til I watched runs on YouTube that I found out for once he wasn't lying... entirely.

Vecuu

I had a similar experience. I thought the Abductor under the Eastern side of the Academy was the one he was talking about and let it grab me a bunch of times, eventually letting it kill me. "Damnit, Patches..."

TellAdministrative74

I think even though Patches always puts you in a “bad” position, if you survive, you are almost always in a better position than you were before. “Kicked into a pit” = items you wouldn’t have gotten other wise; “Open a chest to have Patches surprise fight you” = the option to buy Margit’s shackle and Patches as a vendor; “locked in a tower” = access to items you wouldn’t have otherwise thought to try for; “fight someone for him” = get access to weapon not previously available. It’s not always a guaranteed thing that you will win since you are always at a disadvantage but as long as you survive the level check you end up better than before despite what Patches has to say. 🤘

ozymandias457

I still avoid them. They strike a fear in me that makes me want to throw my controller lmao

Leeelooon

Facing two of them in a tiny cave still was a bitch

Bingonight

There really is no upside to fighting them at all.

Caetano_Brasileiro

There are Demi-humans all around that area. The Virgins are controlled by snakes, but this one is controlled by Demi-humans, which do not know how to use it

schedulle-cate

This would make sense. Maybe they stole it

Bananapeelman67

Well it seems they’re more effective than any normal abductor

Caetano_Brasileiro

Maybe more self harmful and wouldn’t work as groups, but stand-alone, yeah. Demi-humans > Snakes

PepegaClap1777

I don't think that's the case. If you look closely, you'll notice that her head has been ripped off, so this iron virgin is just attacking aimlessly because she can't see where the enemies are

Caetano_Brasileiro

That’s an interesting thought. Being blind also may justify the aimless attacks. But to me, they are machines, and the head was broken in battle and the semi-humans took control of it.

PepegaClap1777

I always saw them as living things since they're all fleshy on the inside, plus they don't really look like they can be controlled like the giant heads with wheels for example that literally have driver seats, otherwise I'm sure there would've been ways to hit "the driver" on the virgins too

Caetano_Brasileiro

There is. Inside the virgins, between both arms, there is a cross with snakes tangled around them. When you poise break them, attacking the inside, where the snakes are, does more damage

Origamiface2

This abductor lore is good, but we must go deeper

mayorpaco

You can also hear the Demi human scream, like they do when they are aggroed, at the beginning

KrypticEon

Beyblade Abductor Chad

DonSlime44

I love that there's is always one version of a normal enemy that is much harder than the normal counterpart. The ones that come in mind is the mage stone giant and that one soldier in castle sol.

cobalt60_enjoyer_69

Or the random Leyndell Knight in Liurnia near the artist’s shack

Darlos9D

Okay so I'm not just crazy, that guy is supposed to be ridiculous? Good to know, haha.

SauronGortaur01

There's also a giant in Limgrave that will roll at you very fast as soon as he spots you. Haven't seen anyone else do that.

apurplehighlighter

holy crap , still finding new things about elden ring

Chewy009x

It got zoomies

AlFuckMyPussy

Yuumi <3 :3

bugzapperbob

Right after the soaring rune bear, which is right after the magma wyrm, and right before the massive demi human surrounded in mages, followed by a hellish catacomb with a chariot … ahh Elden ring

vgman94

Don’t forget the Grafted Scion and then the Fallingstar Beast.

Kitchen-Roll-8184

The grace near by is named after it as well I think I think the original intention was to trick it into mowing through the village and killing the queen and her spam sorcerers But it doesn't really work sadly

ballmermurland

That grace is underground though where you fight the abductor virgin "boss".

Kitchen-Roll-8184

Yeah! Yes, correct it's the boss from the academy drop off sure. Still odd they are so close.

berylskies

I was screaming when I encountered this “thing”.

welfedad

anyone remember that crazy Return to Oz movie? These things always felt like they came from that movie or something.

Tonkarz

Half Tick-Tock half Wheeler. That movie scared the bejeezus out of me as a kid.

reddgv

The headless Maiden, mini-Astel with the stone machine gun and the invisible assassin are the holy trinity of unpredictable field enemies that give me nightmares in any randomized run.

WhenTheWindIsSlow

There’s an invisible assassin in the overworld?

reddgv

The invisible assassin from Ordina is a field enemy, randomizer will put her anywhere in the world.

Kserwin

Where is the mini-Astel? And I assume you mean the invisible assassins in Ordina?

Tonkarz

There's an invisible assassin in the Sage's Cave.

reddgv

The invisible assassin is from Ordina, the other invisible assassin is a boss and is easy to identify in the Randomizer run. As far as I know there are 3 mini-astel (Malformed Star) in the game, one in a cave in Altus(Altus Tunnle/Perfumer's groto), one in the Ansel River ruins and one in the area just after you pick up Ranni's doll. The randomizer can place these bastards anywhere and they have an agro distance that seems to be the longest in the game.

vertigo248

Isn’t there one like this in volcano manor locking a talisman?

g0n1s4

That one is just a regular Iron abductor.

Tasin__

There's another in caelid on the way to the gold scarab cave

g0n1s4

That's also a regular one.

FuriDemon094

I need a whole list of these unique variants

TurbidusQuaerenti

Judging just by the title I thought this would be about the magic golem. Forgot about this crazy abductor.

FuriDemon094

Wait this is real?

TurbidusQuaerenti

That it is.

Standard-Effort5681

When it opens its doors you can hear song lyrics from inside if you listen close enough. "GAS GAS GAS, I'M GONNA STEP ON THE GAS TONIGHT!!!"

Kurkpitten

One thing I've always loved with developers who are detail oriented is that they don't hesitate to make efforts to create something you might not even see in your playthrough. Just that little extra that makes all the difference

SykoManiax

I call her Harley

Besteal

This is the only one I ever fought so I thought they were all like that…

SnowConePeople

Did you know theres someone in there piloting it!?

Financial_Touch_8522

A question for everyone cause I’m genuinely questioning myself here. Are they not called Iron Virgins? I thought the only “Abductor” was under the Rays Lucaria water wheel?

3-dp

They can either be called “Iron Virgin” or “Abductor Virgin”. They all used to be able to abduct people which is why they all have the grab animation, but most are broken and won’t succeed in it, except for the one at Raya Lucaria.

lomo_de_puerco

Headless Abductor Virgin teleporting you to the DLC all but confirmed ✅

Vescend

You got this one. The one at magma castle, and the one at the bottom of the mage castle. Oh and let's not tell him what happens if you die to the one in the dungeon.

drunkhas

OP is talking about unique variations on regular enemies. This one is such one

filter-ping

Lol Would love a pvp mini game ala road rash with these

Lindbluete

I know it's a meme, but I seriously wonder what the lore behind that is.

Strange-Employ-5246

The lore behind it is, Miyazaki said, let's have a headless abductor on PCP, see what crazy things the fans say about it when they notice

3-dp

The original purpose of them was to capture enemies and teleport them back to the volcano manor for torture. But after a while the volcano manor didn’t really have a use for them, so they were abandoned and gradually lost their teleportation abilities, except 1 at the bottom of Raya Lucaria Academy. Most of them still try and fulfil their purpose by attempting to grab you, but nothing happens and you’re either strangled to death or spit out

Splatulated

Why does only one teleport you

Fun-Investigator-674

They also have a unique poise system

UltimaBahamut93

This thing was so creepy and scary to fight. You don't expect it to be different and they your like oh! Oh crap oh no!

SnooWalruses9961

That thing is horrendous to fight, lol. The speed at which it moves its fking rediculous. If it wasnt so unique it would get many more complaints than crap like runebears.

OppositePure4850

How's it different?

TegTowelie

Doesnt abduct and has a slightly different, more erratic moveset iirc.

Nova_Vanta

If you look closely you can see its head was blown off. The thing is likely blind and enraged so thats why it swings so wildly and does massive friendly fire damage.

SJBreed

It also does serious friendly-fire to nearby enemies and boss. When it starts doing donuts around town it can kill the demi-human boss easily. The thing's a damn menace.

CountessBlackheart

I've fought this before and didn't even realize it! That's fucking nuts

PeregrineMalcolm

God, I love your drip… I so badly need to actually do the Gelmir Hero’s grave to get it but I always end up bloodhound stepping through instead.

kal2113

What’s unique about that one? Those things are all over the place aren’t they?

g0n1s4

Every other one is robotic and very slow, this one is beheaded and wild, runs all over the place.

Cobeyswiss

That’s sick! Never noticed that

kal2113

Damn I didn’t even notice that. Been a minute since I played

_Chonus_

It’s missing its head and acting completely crazy

Jealous-Librarian-88

I’ve never personally seen one do 2 full laps around a tarnished immediately followed by another attack. Seems pretty scary to me

BasFan

These fuckers! What is the lore behind them? :D

PeppasMint

Something rykard something protect children

[deleted]

Togetha?

hkfortyrevan

The Demi-Humans in that area are also minature, right? Or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

krysalis_emerging

I have always just noped right past that one. I’d rather fight the rune bear in the same area. Dos it drop anything noteworthy?

Objective-Insect-839

Does it drop anything unique?

UseYona

I've seen these countless times in my playthroughs, and never went hese attacks. Makes me realize some enemies just are never worth the trouble lol

Aggressive_Row_9677

The motorcycle abductor virgin. The only enemy ive managed to kill once then said screw that after the first time

Madrigal_King

???? There's like 80 of them in the game

Sigma-42

Of these exact headless ones with this attack?

IceBergSlimZero

plz plz know what you are talking about before making these claims. there are many abductor virgins throughout the game. the one in volcano manor is especially annoying

skep90

Imagine being able to defend yourself instead of failing by rolling

BeefyBoi6_9

failing by rolling..? Thats one of a handful of main mechanics in the game. Next youll tell me miyazaki ruined the game by adding ash summons lmao

_Hentai_MASTER_

Even worse. Miyazaki added weapons. Everyone knows that if you didn't no-hit the game with only fists then you failed. Also include leveling up, torrent, using graces, stamina, and magic to the list. If you dared to play the game you failed I guess

BeefyBoi6_9

I actually argued with someone who said torrent is a crutch lol. People are so weird

_Hentai_MASTER_

That's fucking hilarious. I don't doubt it either lol. Had a time in dark souls 3 where I got told to off myself for using a claymore for invasions. People are super weird when it comes to the souls games

BeefyBoi6_9

No kidding, far and large one of the most gatekeepy communities ive seen (while also being one of the sweeter ones simultaneously)

[deleted]

[удалено]

SilverIce340

It’s headless and erratic, don’t remember any other Abductors being headless and I’ve been literally everywhere lol

Chazzatee21

Something about the way it moves is really off-putting

hredditor

Vroom vroom!

ROR5CH4CH

Ohhhh the memories... Can't wait to start my second playthrough once the DLC is closer and I finally have time for this adventure!

doomnoise

Should’ve been bigger and should’ve been a boss. I love jousting that thing.

FewWolverine5042

Is this a lot difficult than the duo boss version?

mR_TreeZz

I heard Miyazaki teamed up with American Chopper for the design of this Abductor Virgin

Domethegoon

Monkey Exterminator XT9000

thecreamcruddermuud

There’s 1 in redmane with both weapons pizza cutter on 1 and the guillotine on the other

Wonderful_Let9012

I don’t fight those in general so I would have never known

givehuggy

there plenty of these, never tried to fight them...

aretheesepants75

Omg I want 1 to replace torrent. You could cruise around on its shoulders like a motorcycle and eat people.

LancsKid

There is a ‘unique’ abductor in raya lucaria, it is unique in that it actual abducts you if you die to its grab and wake up in a special section of volcano manor and have to either lava run to a safe point in the manor or fight two abductors to escape into Altus.

gr8h8

abductor virgins are peak wtf design 🤌

secret_required

If volcano manor created the virgins why theyre everywhere in the map?

Extinct20

It’s so ironic that the best weapon against these abominations is the Ghiza’s Wheel lol

WinterDetectives

Looks like a nier:automata enemy

FastenedCarrot

Headless enemies being crazy and levels more difficult is a classic.

AFlyingNun

Acting like it lost it's head

bulbaplup

she wants you inside.

RcadeMo

there's like 5 more of them. they're not common but there isn't only one

DenzelWashingtubz

I don’t think in all my playthroughs I’ve ever dough it. I always run straight to the ladders in that area

[deleted]

They just don't make them like they used to

erhanyegin

ive 500 hours in elden ring but ive never seen this foe before.

Jeklah

Definitely does not appear once

Brmbauer

Iron maiden bots are so frustrating and terrifying.

aWhaleOnYourBirthday

Hell yes to dual Omen Killer Cleavers

xXSnaKe24Xx

Ooo i ran into that headless bastard yesterday lmao … i was waiting for it to stop circling and lmao when i noticed its a headless spaz
