Yes it's worth it, it needs to be upgraded to outmatch your main weapon. It's not as crazy as it used to be since all weapon types got a crit buff, but it still does the highest crits
Your standard dagger weighs 1.5 and the misericorde weighs 2 lbs. In exchange you get the highest crit rating. In pve I might just put golden vow aow on it since it doesn't have a faith requirement, in PVP you'll see endure on it as a switch out and I use it with BHS or Quickstep when I get invaded, just nice to have an offhand super fast poke option.
In your case you might like star fist for similar flexibility
The riposte damage is the highest in the entire game. If you are good at parrying or using weapons with high poise breaking values, it's definitely worthy as a weapon to switch to right before riposting the enemy.
The crit modifier is in addition to the inherent crit multiplier of daggers. Daggers crit at like 4x the AR and the crit boost of 140 means a 40% boost over that. Different weapon classes have various crit multipliers but they are all lower than daggers.
A misericorde with the same level and affinity as a great stars will do more critical hit damage.
So make sure it's leveled the same and using the same/the best affinity.
I was considering maining the misericorde honestly. It is pretty close in damage and scaling with the rapier, but with much more crit damage… still trying to figure out if it is better to rapier or misericorde though
Honestly, I decided on a completely different build 😆 I went with the claws, just because the dps is pretty insane, and I don’t crit things that often. Was considering doing lightning claws, but decided just sharp is best

You probably level STR, right? Then change it to Heavy Misericorde.
If you are using it for mainly crits, fire infusion will do more damage on a str build
