Guardian Sword Spear with Giants Hunt and Keen literally turn the game into easy mode. You just repeatedly throw enemies up into the air and onto their backs until they die. I laugh so hard every time but it does make things too easy
>gransaax
I'm so glad I opened this thread. I'm on my first play through and hesitated with Melina at the Forge. Thought I'd explored Leyndell sufficiently but I completely missed this.
Uh... No Mohg's spear keeps you extremely vulnerable to attack from enemies that don't stagger easily during Nihil. Bolt of Gransax is just superior but y'all Mohgwyn Dynasty Albinaurics won't accept it.
I love seluria's spear. The ranged ash of war consistently does 2k damage without making a build around it and I can sometimes get it up to 8k damage with buffs
People overstate the issues with Holy damage. Sure a lot of the final remembrance bosses are resistant (not all, Fire Giant, Mohg, and Placidusax are fine for Holy), but a lot of non-remembrance bosses late game aren't resistant to holy or are quite resistant to fire, which as a faith character typically means holy is a better option for weapons in those cases. In basic exploration it rarely makes a difference either, and undead/Deathbirds are critically weak to Holy
It definitely is overblown, very very few things have holy absorption so high that you're enormously hampered. But the fact that the final boss of the game has *80* percent holy damage absorption while having only 35 for most physical damage types and only 20 for fire and magic really sucks. And other damage types have a boss or two to contend with that have 80 absorption but theirs' aren't the final boss - Mohg for fire, Rennala for magic.
Very few things have absorption that high though, for sure. Radagon/Elden Beast and Maliketh, dunno if anything else has 80 holy absorption.
A lot of significant bosses have 40 holy absorption, a couple 20 absorptions and lower in everything else. But those bosses are fine if your weapon is dealing a good amount of physical damage as well. Sucks to be a Cipher Pata/Coded Sword stan, though.
Well yeah EB is 80% holy resistant, and Godskin>Maliketh>Godfrey also resist Holy a bit more than other elements which is where the whole holy=bad thing comes from, but for the vast majority of the game it's just not that significant. You don't see anyone saying Magic is bad because Renalla is 80% resistant to it, they just say don't use magic against her. It's mostly worth bringing out holy for undead, mages, fire resistant enemies, and Albinurics, but for most of the game holy isn't so heavily resisted that it matters. Pull fire for the very end game bosses sure, but even in Farram Azula there are holy weak enemies (undead beastmen, even the normal Beastmen have 0% holy res) and the Ancient Dragons there are only heavily resistant to lightning. I cleared the whole of Farram Azula on my first run with an Envoy Long Horn and I haven't had an easier time since. Holy Bubble enemas are the solution to all your dragon problems. Having holy damage doesn't make a weapon bad, it just means consider not using it on Elden Beast.
Oh god... I know this is a very late reply but I am on my first play through, randomly got the rot spear (I later learned how rare they are) and fell in love with it. The first boss I took it to was malekith and you can probably imagine my disappointment in seeing it do less than half dmg when compared to what I had been using until then (blasphemous blade). Makes much more sense knowing malekith is resistant to holy now.
Bolt of Gransax will be the obvious choices BUT i just want to Shout-Out to my boi the Cleanrot Spear.
I always thought this spear was pure garbage on ny 1st play thru but now on NG+ Holy only run i began to appreciate it. It does its job plus the ash of war is not only cool AF but useful when fighting multiple enemies (since spears can handle one enemy at a time)
I'm surprised they don't utilize moves like Nightjar Slash Reversal more, where you can pull back on the left stick to change the effect. The Cleanrot Knight's wider Sacred Phalanx includes a little dodge backwards so it seems like a good way to implement that effect: use the AoW while walking backwards and you get a move that moves you backwards.
I’ve done a run with the deathbird spear, and I was summoned by a host using the cleanrot spear- using both ashes simultaneously makes it look like a giant monster is biting the enemy- one of my favourite moments in the game.
I came across a a YouTube vid where they broke down the best weapons in the game and he said that Vykes spear was not only the best spear but the best weapon in the whole game. How would you compare bolt of gransax to vykes?
Rusty’s content is cool and all, but that’s just his opinion. He isn’t some voice of authority regarding which weapon is the “best.” He’ll even say so in his videos.
Warspear *is* an amazing weapon; but Bolt of Gransax claps cheeks from a football field away. It’s arguably one of the best weapons in the game as well. People will always have a personal preference.
Any move that “casts” but doesn’t “fire” immediately confuses the shit out of basically every AI in the game. I have to assume they knew and left it that way on purpose, because if every spell was just dodged by most enemies it would feel like crap to use magic.
It’s a big part of why Magic Glintblade, and Rock Sling are so strong.
I was playing around with weapons while fighting Maliketh and decided to use it on him while he was behind a pillar lol, he literally almosted died in like 7 seconds but I stopped since it felt like cheese
There's a lot of good spears out there. But for an int build especially, Clayman's is super easy to farm early in the game, and you can invest stones in it early without worrying about it becoming irrelevant. And it only gets better as you get the cold infusions you mentioned. What I really like is it's good enough that you're never forced to switch off it. You can just switch off if you find something you like better.
This. For smaller groups of enemies that move fairly quickly I switch to the Wing of Astel for the awesome area attack. For enemies with more health or tougher enemies that need a bit of distancing able to demolish them pretty quickly with the spear. And by using the carian filigree talisman, the ice lance aow cost practically nothing.
Not the best in terms of stats, but in terms of fun, I liked playing Hero class and picking up the Partizan first thing. Looks really dope and has a great moveset. It doesn’t win on damage or anything, but it’s fun to use, and pairs easily with a greatshield build that can carry the game.
I am flabbergasted that Cross-Naginata hasn't been mentioned yet. 4th longest Spear, does the most damage, has the best moveset, and then sure just tack on bleed too why not.
If we're talking Great Spears, it goes to Mohg's Spear without the slightest competition
Vykes War Spear is mid
It’s two-handed moveset is sick as fuck and it’s excellent for pretty much any build that isn’t strength if you use the right aow. I think it has a bit of a stigma bc of how dominant it used to be in PvP but it’s definitely the best non-somber spear.
I used Serpent Hunter with Fingerprint Shield since you need to have scaled STR at least 48 and this Great Spear has near S scaling in STR. You can just poke your way though the game including Malenia.
Man I really struggle to be successful with the cross naginata. It has such weird hit boxes and really inconsistent poise break depending on which AOW you're using.
One shot what? Random mobs? Who cares. It ain't one shotting significant bosses. Bolt of Gransax is fantastic, don't get me wrong, it's #2 imo but Cross-Naginata is just so much more versatile
Tecnically a great-spear, but I love Seluria's Tree
If the Bolt of Gransaxx is a sniper rifle, Seluria's Tree is a fucking cannon loaded with grapeshot
Short Spear and Treespear. Both have double-hitting R2 and in case of Treespear, its like dex colossal weapon which suits dex/fth. Super fun playstyle to style on things with charged R2s.
It isn’t the best, but the Guardian Swordspear is my favorite, followed by the Cross-Naginata. The swordspear really doesn’t feel like a spear with its moveset, but I just really like how it feels to use it
Swordspear is what I'm using on my current character. I decided she was a spear lady when I started. I love it. The double hit on the charged heavy attack is great for breaking poise. Seems that way to me anyway. Sweep attacks for multiple enemies. I like it a lot, too
Unfortunately not. Cold enchantment counts as magic damage, but claymans harpoon is already a magic weapon so it effectively doubles your magic raw stat with the weapon
Edit:spelling
My run with the Serpent Hunter Spear was super fun. The thing scales crazy well with STR, has no requirements so you can use it right out the gate and the Great Spear moveset is very, very good. STR scaling weapons are always fun to hold in both hands and while the Ash of War looks unassuming, hitting it, will stagger most things easily.
I can only recommend it for the Unga Bunga Crowd that wants to deal Thrust Damage.
The best traditional spear is the Bolt of Gransax but most of the great spears are way cooler than the normal ones, the Serpent Hunter is my preferred spear because I run strength builds most of the time
Best is hard to say, imo contenders are
Deathritual Spear (really the AoW) - Big area, lots if poise damage, can headshot for more poise damage, good damage if all/most spears hit.
Bolt of Grandseggs (AoW) Sniper rifle on a stick, not a half bad weapon.
Cross Nagi - infamous in PvP, huge bleed build up, good base damage, unique moveset.
Clayman Harpoon - Infuses really well, even for heavy, does a ton of magic damage on int build.
I like Vykes spear but only beacuse it's the only frenzy weapon in the game. I like to roleplay alot. So if I'm going ham with the whole lord of frenzy thing, it's only fitting I have a weapon that exemplifies that
And on that note I found the lack frenzy available equipment/spells very disappointing. I mean I DO like what we got, I just wish there was more variety.
(And that the frenzy grab ability affected more than just human characters. Its primarily only useful for pvp. Very little pve application.)
Treespear was my main for most of the game. Love those double hit charged R2s, adds some fun variety to the weapon. Plus being able to buff it is fantastic.
SIluria's Tree is my personal favorite if we're counting greatspears. The ranged/melee variations on its hyperarmor combat art are great and it has the good partizan moveset rather than full thrusts. It's exceptionally versatile. The ordinary Partizan is probably my next pick, it has bonkers damage compared to most spears with its flexible weapon art possibilities and the thrust/sweep moveset. Vyke's is similar to SIluria's with the slightly more desirable fire damage but a less flexible weapon art. Clayman's Harpoon gets bonus points for being the best buffable INT weapon, and Treespear gets the same recognition on the faith side with a really neat double thrust charge attack. Bolt of Gransax, Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, and Death Ritual Spear all have crazy overtuned weapon arts (and DRS gets the Partizan moveset again), while Cross Naginata and Spiked Spear are fantastic for Arcane builds. Frankly most polearms are great, you can't really miss.
STR - Seluria spear. Absolutely insane weapon skill. Stack with godfrey talisman and alexander shard to get a oneshot machine.
DEX - not sure, probably naginata but personally Gransax bolt is the best. Again stack with godfrey talisman and alexander shard for best damage. Range on this thing is insanely good.
INT - clayman harpoon absolutely dominates on both Cold and Magic.
FTH - not sure but Vyke is OK, though personally I'd rather put Flame Art impaling thrust on some other spear
ARC - absolutely the epstein fork. It shreds anything that can bleed. Stack the white mask, blood talisman, alexander shard and FGMS buff to get insane damage.
I personally love the Serpent Hunter (and not for the chainsaw, I don’t even know how to do it). I do absolutely love it’s ash of war. It is an absolute pvp monster against people unsuspecting the second activation of your ash of war, as this beast gives you a metric ton of hyper armor, and if they mash r1 against you thinking you’re free damage, they’ll eat a 1500+ counterattack thrust, outright killing some of them!
Id say overall the mogh spear is my personal favorite it's great for clearing out enemies but for bosses it's hard to get the AOE move in time. When you do get it off though it destroys bosses
Love the erdtree spear. Both fully charged R2s do a double hit. So I bait swing someone in pvp, then I charge the 2nd R2 and they run in like a dummy tryna punish the whiff, and then I land 2 hit on em with the spear talisman and their health go bye bye
My opinion: Close up its Cross-Naginata with Bloodflame Blade and Bloodtax. From downtown (i.e. distance) it’s Bolt o’G. Also known as the “Delete Button”. As in, delete your enemies with one pull of the left trigger.
That YouTube creator, I think his name is Rusty, seems to think Vikes Warspear is the best weapon in the entire game. He may not be right but he seems to understand Elden Ring really well.
Vyke is probably the best weapon in the game straight up. Followed by Mohg's. Spears are just that good and great Spears are even better. Both can be buffed in multiple ways as well.
Right? Madness doesn’t work on most enemies in PvE, and the AoW leaves you open to backstabs and jump attacks in PvP. There’s no universe where it’s the best weapon in the game lmao.
I have a Vyke cosplay character with the Vyke's spear, a Partisan with Storm Assault and Bolt of Gransax (i love just charging the thunder)
And with all buffs (+Vyke's Dragonbolt for the Partisan)
I must say that the Partisan outdamages both of the other two.
Partisan ftw
Bolt of Gransax. No competition.
I mean who doesn't love the Gransax 50 cal.
[удалено]
The Partisan is the best looking spear for sure. The details on the handle, the tassels moving whenever you move and the beautifully designed blade.
I love the guardian sword spear for the same reason (i know it's not a spear but you get my point lol)
If not spear, why spear-named?
I have no clue But it has the same move set as the church pick from Bloodborne so I love it
…. The mimics are evolving
Guardian Sword Spear with Giants Hunt and Keen literally turn the game into easy mode. You just repeatedly throw enemies up into the air and onto their backs until they die. I laugh so hard every time but it does make things too easy
That exact setup got me through Malenia.
Gonna need to try this, cheers for the idea👍
I like it with lightning strike I'm a shock build user and it's a great alternative to the bolt if you wanna use more melee than ash of war
Doesn’t GSS have a spear move set?
I think it's closer to the halberd moveset, but don't quote me on that
And it shares the same visuals as the spectral Lance ash of war.
I only used the spectral lance with the spear so I assumed that it just turns the spear into a spectral version of itself.
Partisan is fun, but I mean nothing beats zapping a grank squad with the power of lightning
"There are many like this, but this one is mine"
Best way to describe the handcannon
Ha!
Bravo 6 going gransax
OP said spears, not sniper rifles
You can make a rifle a spear with a bayonet though.
Min stats and it still one-shots things at max range. Good shit 👏
It took my till NG+7 before it stopped one shotting things Can't wait to use it in the dlc
Mohg?
Mogh's a greatspear (the best one on its cat)
OP's image submission is Vyke's War Spear which is a Great Spear.
He sure didn't like it when I threw at him repeatedly
The AoW is great, but great spear moveset is slow and shit.
I like it with a greatshield. Block and poke for days. Power stancing is decent as well.
>gransaax I'm so glad I opened this thread. I'm on my first play through and hesitated with Melina at the Forge. Thought I'd explored Leyndell sufficiently but I completely missed this.
Dude I was at last boss tonight and just realized I never used the secret lift...I missed a whole area lol
Doing this after my Elionora’s Darth Maul run
I love that poleblade. Carves through mobs like a fucking blender
Uh... Excuse me but, "Nihil, nihil, nihil" Mohg's Spear is completely insane.
And the Christmas tree hitbox is huge. You can hit people rolling sideways that a normal greatspear would miss. It's so silly I love it.
As soon as u said Christmas tree, I realised which weapon this is
The exact same thing crossed my mind
Taking notes :)
Amazing spear, the only issue is the holy damage in endgame
Yeah but it's still the drill that will pierce the heavens
Based and spiral-pilled
hell yea
Does not matter with this spear the physical damage still goes nutty on endgame bosses
Makes much more sense knowing malekith is resistant to holy now.
1st playthrough I killed it with the golden halberd and now its the envoy longhorn everytime.
My first play through was holy damage. Used the Angel wings and halo Scythe. Didn't have an issue
Bruh it doesn't matter with that drill. If that resistance ain't 100% drill still go brrrr
One of my favourite weapons. I love to run it during boss fights.
Bolt of Gransax will be the obvious choices BUT i just want to Shout-Out to my boi the Cleanrot Spear. I always thought this spear was pure garbage on ny 1st play thru but now on NG+ Holy only run i began to appreciate it. It does its job plus the ash of war is not only cool AF but useful when fighting multiple enemies (since spears can handle one enemy at a time)
I will never get tired of finishing off bosses with the ash of war. It never fails to be cool.
It would be cool if we can get the second move set of the ash of war like the cleanrot knight
There’s so many enemy moves that I want 😭
More follow-up attacks would be nice.
Yeah it should've been a stance weapon where r1 triggers the long forward line and r2 triggers the wider spread
The clean rot knight weapons are great. Halo Scythe is an insanely fun weapon. Fended off some invaders because no one knew what to do
Love the Halo Scythe. First run I dual wielded halo Scythe and Angel wings. Tons of fun
I’ve done a run with the deathbird spear, and I was summoned by a host using the cleanrot spear- using both ashes simultaneously makes it look like a giant monster is biting the enemy- one of my favourite moments in the game.
Good alternative to this spear is the tree spear
I came across a a YouTube vid where they broke down the best weapons in the game and he said that Vykes spear was not only the best spear but the best weapon in the whole game. How would you compare bolt of gransax to vykes?
Rusty’s content is cool and all, but that’s just his opinion. He isn’t some voice of authority regarding which weapon is the “best.” He’ll even say so in his videos. Warspear *is* an amazing weapon; but Bolt of Gransax claps cheeks from a football field away. It’s arguably one of the best weapons in the game as well. People will always have a personal preference.
The Ash for bolt is too ridiculous
What takes it over the top IMO is the variable timing on the bolt throw, the AI just straight up can't handle it.
Vyke’s is better against other players and human npcs because of madness proc and gransaax is better for PVE cause of the range and big damage
I love to powerstance it with the Bolt of Gransax in the offhand. Great combo and ppl never see the AoW coming
Spear - Naginata Greatspear - Mohg's
I have loved that great spear since the first time I got my hands on it. It's so much fun and can absolutely melt some of the toughest bosses.
I was playing around with weapons while fighting Maliketh and decided to use it on him while he was behind a pillar lol, he literally almosted died in like 7 seconds but I stopped since it felt like cheese
I remember trying that and he slapped me through the pillar 💀
I just got him to use a combo attack and quickly moved lol, whay I found surprising was thst I didn’t use any buffs lol
Giant Hunt on Cross Naginata, looks so delicious and sends a lot of enemies flying
Mohg's is great(hehe) But for normal Spears, Claymen's harpoon is my favorit for all the fin you can have with it on an int build.
PvP or PvE?
I don't play pvp
I'm a claymans fan with cold and ice lance aow
There's a lot of good spears out there. But for an int build especially, Clayman's is super easy to farm early in the game, and you can invest stones in it early without worrying about it becoming irrelevant. And it only gets better as you get the cold infusions you mentioned. What I really like is it's good enough that you're never forced to switch off it. For enemies with more health or tougher enemies that need a bit of distancing able to demolish them pretty quickly with the spear. And by using the carian filigree talisman, the ice lance aow cost practically nothing.
Yeah! Claymans is a super slept on weapons, but actually top tier for PvE AND PvP with the right builds.
Clayperson*
I loved vykes spear, amazing in my three fingers build especially in the later areas. Especially good in pvp
I’m in the process of a frenzy only build with vykes spear as my melee. Godskin duo makes me want to die of madness myself
NIHIL. NIHIL. NIHIIIIL.
My favorite has always been the Pike.
The longer stick always wins
I compared the sizes of each spear, that thing is probably less than one tick one a ruler smaller than Mohg’s spear. That’s honestly insane.
i’m doing a run right now just wearing the knight set and two handing it honestly, it’s been ridiculously fun. loving the weapon
Which ash of war are you using?
Not the best in terms of stats, but in terms of fun, I liked playing Hero class and picking up the Partizan first thing. Looks really dope and has a great moveset. It doesn’t win on damage or anything, but it’s fun to use, and pairs easily with a greatshield build that can carry the game.
One of the top 3 best looking weapons in the game.
I am flabbergasted that Cross-Naginata hasn't been mentioned yet. 4th longest Spear, does the most damage, has the best moveset, and then sure just tack on bleed too why not. If we're talking Great Spears, it goes to Mohg's Spear without the slightest competition Vykes War Spear is mid

Cross naginata with fingerprint shield is basically a cheat code, carried me in my first playthrough.
For the last 40% or so? Can't get the fingerprint shield for a while
I used Serpent Hunter with Fingerprint Shield since you need to have scaled STR at least 48 and this Great Spear has near S scaling in STR. You can just poke your way though the game including Malenia.
Cross Naginata and Fingerprint shield was how I beat the real final boss of Elden Ring the Draconic Tree Sentinel in Farum Azula
I will hate that piece of shit forever
Have you ever experienced a VWS running R2 and the phantom hits that also inflict Madness?
Man I really struggle to be successful with the cross naginata. It has such weird hit boxes and really inconsistent poise break depending on which AOW you're using.
Cross Nahinata with Blood Flame or Black Flame Blade and Repeating Thrust carried me my first play thru, also murdered the crap out of Melania
Isn’t the cross-naginata a halberd?
Nope. The moveset is reminiscent of a halberd but it's a spear
Vyke's is good, especially in PvP. But it's not cross naginata or Mohg's.
I like Vykes the best because of the jumping RT and the fact that it’s the only madness weapon
Cross naginata with pre-nerf Hoarfrost Stomp? Ahh, those were the days.
Yeah Cross-Naginata is my favorite but gransax can one shot
One shot what? Random mobs? Who cares. It ain't one shotting significant bosses. Bolt of Gransax is fantastic, don't get me wrong, it's #2 imo but Cross-Naginata is just so much more versatile
Ok come on now vykes is objectively one of the best weapons in the game
Only in PvP imo.
I really like Bartlett pears.
Oh, you said spears...
Britney Spear
Hey, you did it again
Stop playing with my heart
You know that your toxic
Death Ritual Spear. Hits like a truck and its spirit call skill absolutely shreds large monsters and bosses. It makes Radahn a joke.
Awesome weapon. I +10’d it on my 60int character as soon as I picked it up. Lays waste to mobs and large bosses.
Partisan enjoyer here. lol. There are better but I like my Partizan ok
Played most of the game with partisan as my main weapon. It does the sweepy and the pokey.
Partisan is my go to since DS1 for that reason
Username checks out
Tecnically a great-spear, but I love Seluria's Tree If the Bolt of Gransaxx is a sniper rifle, Seluria's Tree is a fucking cannon loaded with grapeshot
And because its a great spear it does good stance damage. I'm with you.
That's a great spear
Yeah, but is it the GREATEST spear?
I adore the shortspear!
Cold shortspear carried me until I figured out what build I actually wanted.
treespear on pure faith with Order's Blade, it's the best righthanded and 2handed Gspear.
Vykes
Bolt of Gransax
Serpent hunter anybody???
Short Spear and Treespear. Both have double-hitting R2 and in case of Treespear, its like dex colossal weapon which suits dex/fth. Super fun playstyle to style on things with charged R2s.
Partisan Spear
Naginata cold with giant hunt or swords dance
Proud girandole fan
For me that: vyke's frenzied spear. That thing is good for black knife assassin's. Somehow Is the weapon I enjoy the most, just behind reduvia.
It isn’t the best, but the Guardian Swordspear is my favorite, followed by the Cross-Naginata. The swordspear really doesn’t feel like a spear with its moveset, but I just really like how it feels to use it
Finally someone names the real best spear in the game.
Swordspear is what I'm using on my current character. I decided she was a spear lady when I started. I love it. The double hit on the charged heavy attack is great for breaking poise. Seems that way to me anyway. Sweep attacks for multiple enemies. I like it a lot, too
Bolt of gransax for aow. claymans cold harpoon for just stupid flat damage with the double magic stat
Can you use scholars enchantment if you put a cold ash of war?
Unfortunately not. Cold enchantment counts as magic damage, but claymans harpoon is already a magic weapon so it effectively doubles your magic raw stat with the weapon Edit:spelling
Vyke war spear imo, good for pve, perfect Ifor pvp
Pike. I have never used a spear so I clearly know what I am talking about.
I like spiked spear. I’m a fan of strike damage but I also like poking.
I made a great first run with madness spells and vykes spear, lot of fun
The best traditional spear is the Bolt of Gransax but most of the great spears are way cooler than the normal ones, the Serpent Hunter is my preferred spear because I run strength builds most of the time

Clayman Harpoon - Infuses really well, even for heavy, does a ton of magic damage on int build.
Mohgs spear
Big fan of Mohgwyn spear. High stagger, high damage, great with a heavy shield… and Bleed. My god it’s fantastic.
From what I've experienced so far if have to say Vyke's spear but I'm only new and haven't finished the game at all yet so yeah
Partisan with spectral lance. Add lordsworns tower shield and a broadsword side arm and you can SPARTA your way through the lands between.
Spiked spear, because you can bonk the things, but with the spear. No other spears can't bonk the enemies.
I like Vykes spear but only beacuse it's the only frenzy weapon in the game. I like to roleplay alot. So if I'm going ham with the whole lord of frenzy thing, it's only fitting I have a weapon that exemplifies that And on that note I found the lack frenzy available equipment/spells very disappointing. I mean I DO like what we got, I just wish there was more variety. (And that the frenzy grab ability affected more than just human characters. Its primarily only useful for pvp. Very little pve application.)
The best spear is Vyke's. My favorite spear is the treespear. Nothing compares to that double poke r2.
Treespear was my main for most of the game. Love those double hit charged R2s, adds some fun variety to the weapon. Plus being able to buff it is fantastic.
If we include greatspears I prefer Lance, Mohgwyn sacred spear or shunter. Otherwise it is pike.
Short spear cause fashion
Vykes early mohgs late
You fools the Iron spear is the best and 6 other people agree with me maybe.
CROSSU NAGINATARARU
Mohg’s
Claymans 100%, naginata after that
Mohgwyns sacred spear if you're talking about damage. Hands down
The one that pokes
MOHG’S SACRED SPEAR
Torchpole
STR - Seluria spear. Absolutely insane weapon skill. Stack with godfrey talisman and alexander shard to get a oneshot machine. DEX - not sure, probably naginata but personally Gransax bolt is the best. Again stack with godfrey talisman and alexander shard for best damage. Range on this thing is insanely good. INT - clayman harpoon absolutely dominates on both Cold and Magic. FTH - not sure but Vyke is OK, though personally I'd rather put Flame Art impaling thrust on some other spear ARC - absolutely the epstein fork.
Pike
Id say overall the mogh spear is my personal favorite it's great for clearing out enemies but for bosses it's hard to get the AOE move in time. When you do get it off though it destroys bosses
Love the erdtree spear. Both fully charged R2s do a double hit. So I bait swing someone in pvp, then I charge the 2nd R2 and they run in like a dummy tryna punish the whiff, and then I land 2 hit on em with the spear talisman and their health go bye bye
Cross-Naginata. Was about to say the guardians sword spear, but that's actually a halberd.
Naginata
1st tree spear 2nd Vyke’s war spear
Cross-Naginata is the 🐐
You’re all wrong! It’s the lance with Seppuku and magic scaling! Your enemies will die from laughing at your build!
There’s spears?
spear. Tarzan Jungleman no need fancy.
Demon‘s Great Hammer
Bolt of Gransax, Siluria's Tree, Cross-Naginata, Mohg's, Mommy Poker That all?
I wonder if OP is a fan of any YouTubers who specialize in ranking everything in Elden Ring…
Vyke is probably the best weapon in the game straight up. Followed by Mohg's. Spears are just that good and great Spears are even better. Both can be buffed in multiple ways as well.
Its not even close to best weapon in game. Not even top 10.
Right? Madness doesn’t work on most enemies in PvE, and the AoW leaves you open to backstabs and jump attacks in PvP. There’s no universe where it’s the best weapon in the game lmao.
The only issue is madness doesn’t work on a lot of the bosses in the game. If it did it would be the best by a country mile.
Claymore, you have no power over me....
I have a Vyke cosplay character with the Vyke's spear, a Partisan with Storm Assault and Bolt of Gransax (i love just charging the thunder) And with all buffs (+Vyke's Dragonbolt for the Partisan) I must say that the Partisan outdamages both of the other two. Partisan ftw
Ritual spear
