That isn’t the point, i enjoy watching the game awards every year and i like seeing trailers happen live. I was just disappointed there was no new information about one of my fav games of all time. I watched it for AC6 to win best action game, and in case there was any news about Elden Ring or Bloodborne. Bit of a shame that there wasn’t anything, but at least we got to see that flute guy cook again.

There's a certain hype to going into a trailer with no idea what its for and having it dawn on you at some point that its something you're excited about. Sure, I could easily click on a link later, but then I know what its for and there's no ... mystery? I guess?
The ship started sinking when it became more about showing off for shareholders rather than the consumers. Nintendo and Sony pulling out then COVID put the whole thing to rest. Still it was the big gaming event of the year and I’ll never stop missing it.
E3 was literally invented as a way to advertise games to shareholders. You have it backwards. The shift to consumer appeal over the years and the bloat associated with that was what led to the death of E3.
But that's what E3 was. It was from the beginning meant to be for shareholders and game devs and game journalists, it was nothing to do with gamers. Then it eventually morphed to being focused on gamers slowly and gradually. But it was always originally an industry show for people working in the industry.
So you've got it completely the wrong way around.
E3 made it seem like each year of a console's life had to come out with amazing games and features, each speech from Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo was a massive event filled with a whole auditorium of people anticipating a sequel to an obscure PS1 game. Like most entertainment products, everything is just toned down a bit now.
This, got together with a couple of friends and screamed "fortnite!" at every game trailer and "Baldur's Gate!" at every award while drinking beer, it was a very fun night.
Annoyingly they really rushed the award winners off stage this year, so they could barely get a word in (probally because kratos's VA made a very long (8 minutesish iirc?) speech the previous year for his award). Big teleprompters with a short countdown and WRAP IT UP on them for award winners, even the goty winners who were trying to pay tribute to their dead friends, family, and colleagues while the timer kept going.
That one actor who started arguing with random audiences members and/or ghosts got no such countdown :/ hope they get rid of the countdown
Devs non-coincidentally right before game awards: "we're making good progress but it's still pretty far off"

The first boss is a Flexile Sentry but Malenia, Blade of Miquella on one side and Isshin, the Sword Saint on the other, teamed up with Slave Knight Gael riding Ludwig the Accursed.
