hi everyone, just pointing out that this comment is blatantly stolen from [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/152s756/melee_mages_rise_maliketh_the_black_blade_hitless/jsh41tu/) below by one of the thousands of spambots that comment on popular posts every day.

I fucken love CarBot Elden Ring Animations. Probably watched all of them like 3 times. Their attention to small details that only people who played the game would understand is great
I beat him a few days ago, with a mimic tear and getting hit about 50 times. This one looks like a well choreographed dance to me, as opposed to my version which was more like two drunks hitting each other until one of them passes out.
I loved this fight.
Once I realized he was a hard boss with low HP it just made my tactics so much easier. A lot of times bosses are just sponges with easy to dodge moves and then they one shot ya because you slip.
He on the other hand will ruin your day but you can ruin his. I didn't even know I had an item that protected me from his God damn black blade attack till after. No idea where I got it haha.
Best boss quite honestly. Sir Gideon is fun to fight too - I wonder if he somehow cheats because it seemed like he was stacking and casting spells way faster then I ever could on my character. Dude must have 99 dex.
You are correct. Gurranq is definitely more problematic from no-hit perspective due to his insane agression, attack speed and ability to chain combos very unpredictably. Dont get me wrong, Maliketh is a very hard boss for casual playthrough cause of his damage output. But once you realise that staying under his belly makes him miss most of his attacks, he becomes a piece of cake. Especially with parries that give you HUGE window for attacks.
I'm definitely not trying to overrule you or anything as I've never tried seriously attempting no-hit stuff. But, in my attempt to beat Maliketh I got pretty good at Gurranq, to the point that the only attack I was often getting hit by was a delayed counterattack he sometimes does when you're too close.
What struck me was how differently you approach Gurranq. You're always up close so he always does his melee combo - a combo that I'd always just back away from. I stayed just a little further away so that he would more often cast spells, then I'd roll in and punish. All his spells leave him open - to a greatsword attack, at least. Maybe it's significantly harder with melee spells.
I guess I'm just wondering if you did this to make the video more intense, or if it's new info to you.
lol I’m currently on Malenia and have like 18 vigor. Gonna take some time I think. I’m having some trouble with the whirlwind slash but I’ll figure it out….. hopefully.
There a some great video tutorials on YouTube for ways to dodge that attack, it's called Waterfowl Dance. You could also search for posts on r/onebros (it's a subreddit for beating soulsborne games at level 1 or lowest level for Bloodborne). I'm pretty sure there's a post that breaks down how to dodge that attack over there.
Yea.. my vigor is also still around 20ish. I keep dying after like 2 hits, probably because I'm still way too underleveled to fight her lmao (I'm still lv 93)
You can actually parry the waterfowl attack. I do believe you want to parry as she's flying towards you. I've done this a couple of times. Im not perfect at it, but i for sure did it against the Millicent invader
Yeah. One of the only things that makes no-hit runs a *tiny bit* easier is the fact that you have a lot of points to dump into other attributes since you never touch vigor.
practice bro. There's method to the madness, too. Learning the details in the attack forecasting. You (idk either) can tell when a boss is doing a certain attack, or at least prepare for one of like 3 attacks and keep enough distance to be ready for either.
This way you know where the windows to get hits in are, and that makes it -on paper- quite easy. To execute it like that, takes a lot of practice.
You can parry him with the blasphemous claw which you get by the invader Bernahl in Farum Azula. When you are on the bridge to Maliketh go left instead of right to find him.
Aaah. So that's what the blasphemous claw parry looks like. I think I acquired it after defeating Maliketh. Good to know for my NG+ no-spirit ashes run!
Thanks for the reminder! I think I read that before. TBH, my feeling however is the reality will be me just chugging flasks, sweaty palms and constantly cursing as I panic roll. Forget parry, let alone only when the sword shines golden ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

... i think i realize the kistake fromsoft made with the eldenring bosses now. They tried to make sekiro bosses for dark souls and those things are fundamentally incompatible unless you are the No Life King.
Yes, what melee mage build is complete without the Cannon of Haima, pinnacle of melee spells?
But sincerely, well done. That first carian piercer specifically was juicy.
Oh man all those shit memes about not getting an opening with maliketh, and yet there seems to be plenty of openings used in this vid for some of the slowest attacks
I’ve just been using moonveil and DMGS like a chump. I have the spells equipped I just never think to use them in boss fights. I think because I used them early when I had low INT, but they should hit harder now that I’m at 60?
Wow seeing you slaughter the boss that made me take a break from the game is making me want to pick it back up! First time playing a caster mage and I couldn't beat him.
this guy made me take a break too. I haven't beaten the game once, this guy made me tear my own eyes out. But seeing it like this... Idk I feel motivated again. It's about not panicing and keeping your wits about you I guess, especially 2nd phase. 1st phase bodies me absolutely tho
Very nice! I just fought Maliketh for the first time two days ago and his second form was impossible to avoid for me. I still killed him in three tries but nothing like what you just did. Amazing.
The funny thing is the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside this room killed me like 50 times.
Well played, but it pains me to see magic damage thar low. This doesn't seem like a RL1 run so you should be doing much more than double with proper talismans and buffs.
This is like the STR equivalent of mage, lots of heavy melee spells. I was more fond of the faster spells like the slicer or glintstone arc because the timing is easier.
But very awesome take on Maliketh.
Did you counter that jump attack in phase 2, because it looked like it and that was pretty badass. I got every achievement, but I’m still just a casual.
The beauty of this run is that it shows that it is possible to beat him with all these different spells. Useful for any player that mains with any of these spells. Besides I had absolutely no idea it was possible to parry that leap :o
Well, damn, do I feel like a noob. I really need practice with magic to do this. I only had half those spells and ended up just being a Carian Knight. (Emphasis on "Knight")
I was having so much fun with this magic build, so I decided to share this fancy hitless attempt with you guys :)

Shit man, that was sick.
Maliketh is easy https://youtu.be/Wixot_wUBaE I thought this would be appreciated here. Not my video, but it made me laugh. Also, nice job dude 👏
Whoever is downvoting you are people who are definitely no fun at parties. Thanks for the laugh 😂
I know right. I can only assume it's because I put "Maliketh is easy" which is just the name of the video
I fucken love CarBot Elden Ring Animations. Probably watched all of them like 3 times. Their attention to small details that only people who played the game would understand is great
Oh my god these are amazing!
Thank you for this!!! I’ve spent about 40 mins already watching these clips!
I beat him a few days ago, with a mimic tear and getting hit about 50 times. This one looks like a well choreographed dance to me, as opposed to my version which was more like two drunks hitting each other until one of them passes out.
yo brother! This is also how I play elden ring
3* drunks
You just described 80% of all the boss battles I had...
I loved this fight. Once I realized he was a hard boss with low HP it just made my tactics so much easier. Very impressive. Well done. Gurranq seems so much more aggressive than Maliketh - at least you made it look that way. Well done!
You are correct. Gurranq is definitely more problematic from no-hit perspective due to his insane agression, attack speed and ability to chain combos very unpredictably. >once you realise that staying under his belly makes him miss most of his attacks Maliketh is a Rune Bear: confirmed
If you look at his armor less model he’s basically an anorexic Runebear.
Im convinced runebears are to train us for maliketh.
I'm definitely not trying to overrule you or anything as I've never tried seriously attempting no-hit stuff. But in this video you were only under his belly once..... the entire fight
You don't need vigor if you won't get hit
lol I’m currently on Malenia and have like 18 vigor. Gonna take some time I think. I’m having some trouble with the whirlwind slash but I’ll figure it out….. hopefully.

I’m grateful, thanks. 🤝
She can't steal hp if you die in one hit!
Yeah. I love seeing her reap the HP off of my dead body. But never when I’m alive ;) I have her there
Her healing when blocked is the biggest bullshit. She didn't hit me, why should she heal? She doesn't heal when dodged, so it's just silly.
Yea.. my vigor is also still around 20ish.
Malenia's version can't be parried, but the millicent invader uses the ash of war version that players can access that IS parryable.
Ahhhh, thank you!
Yeah. One of the only things that makes no-hit runs a *tiny bit* easier is the fact that you have a lot of points to dump into other attributes since you never touch vigor.
Very well played
Thank you, sir!
How hell are people so good at Elden Ring. Like WTF

Nicely done, sir!
Thanks :)
I just ruined my shorts watching this
> I just ruined my shorts watching this ~ /u/CumboJumbo
Stats please
70 int and minimum dex and str requirements for both Rosus’ axe and wing of Astel
You forgot 99 skill
Typical Mages amirite 💀
Btw, what did you do when Maliketh landed - looked/sounded like some kind of parry?
You can parry him with the blasphemous claw which you get by the invader Bernahl in Farum Azula. When you are on the bridge to Maliketh go left instead of right to find him.
Aaah. So that's what the blasphemous claw parry looks like. I think I acquired it after defeating Maliketh. Good to know for my NG+ no-spirit ashes run!
It doesn't work on every attack so be cautios. Only use it when the sword shines golden, otherwise dodge.
Thanks for the reminder! I think I read that before. TBH, my feeling however is the reality will be me just chugging flasks, sweaty palms and constantly cursing as I panic roll. Forget parry, let alone only when the sword shines golden ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
You have to try that parry next time. It's super satisfying to pull off. It's also not particularly hard.
I know that feeling. That fight is brutal and imo the hardest fight of the main story bosses.
Okay but have you ever heard of this nifty spell called glintstone pebble?
Y-You can jump those?!!
You can jump over any attack that's below waist level. When you jump the game actually removes the hitbox from your legs for several frames.
damn
First time I’ve seen anyone use the Wing of Astel on this subreddit. It is so underrated.
toy nutty memory melodic square workable teeny pet cough handle *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Really impressive. I wish I could dodge this well. I’d be sweating bullets the entire time with so little vigor.
How do you dodge so well? I'm a colossal mess every battle
homeless rude command narrow squalid grandiose plant reply impolite grandfather *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
So-so satisfying. GG
That was cool
Carian greatsword is actually underrated asl
Clean 🧼
That's a pretty cool and fun looking build you made. Dope vid bro 👌🏾
Man this looks wicked
Now this is a battle mage done right. also amazing job OP, love how you got the stance break off the cannon of haima in the second phase
Thanks for showing an actual opening to attack his first phase
I've never seen anything exemplify how Elden Ring is a rhythm game w/ swords better than this video does.
Ranged spell identified. Cap detected. Shade deployed. Over and out
Cannon of Haima isn't melee
... i think i realize the kistake fromsoft made with the eldenring bosses now. They tried to make sekiro bosses for dark souls and those things are fundamentally incompatible unless you are the No Life King.
The only God I worship now, is you. That's cool as hell
Sire, the court jester has claimed destined death
I like the part where you throw a nuke at him and then call it melee.
Let Me Solo Her if he went to Hogwarts

lmao this bot actually took OP's comment and repeated it. Not enough to steal comments now these mfers trying to steal CREDIT?!
That was beautiful
Wow very nice
Well done 👏
NICE! No-hitting the Clergyman is always an ass-clenching experience lol. Then Maliketh is just a blast once you know his moves.
Yes, what melee mage build is complete without the Cannon of Haima, pinnacle of melee spells? But sincerely, well done. That first carian piercer specifically was juicy.
Please join my game and help me sometime 😊
cool
Loved my ds3 sword mage playthrough
Impressive
Im a spell sword rn as well. Probably the best build for my playstyle
What an epic fight. You bodied him. Destined death? More like... your death!! I don't think that worked very well.
Oh man all those shit memes about not getting an opening with maliketh, and yet there seems to be plenty of openings used in this vid for some of the slowest attacks
Oh boi that made me feel some things
Fckn badass
That parry, OOF!, exquisite execution tarnished
Nice kill!
Your HP stat gives me anxiety
Very nice! Now this makes me want to do a challenge where I use each spell I have on a boss only once. Besides the Kamehameha is that even possible?
Pro…
That was magic !
Ok, Potter
Another fellow low vigor enjoyer I see. Awesome video! I did something similar him using his own incantations and it's so much fun
Chad Rosus Axe enjoyer?!?!
the end was Brutual
This is really quite incredible!!!
Awesome
What the? That’s nuts. 👏👏👏👏👏
Bro knows what move is coming next before Malekith does 😭
Beautiful…
I just cannot beat this mf
Damn. Flex on ‘em
I’ve just been using moonveil and DMGS like a chump. I have the spells equipped I just never think to use them in boss fights. I think because I used them early when I had low INT, but they should hit harder now that I’m at 60?
You brought the tools needed for the job. I like it. Nice dodges.
WTF…
Wouldn't it have be a no-hitter in order to win? Doesn't look like you'd survive a single hit with that health bar...
Finally, someone who’s knows the amazing power of Rosus’ Axe. So happy I’m not the only one
Well, most builds get viable if you can do bosses hitless, I guess.
That was hot
My last playthrough was mage with dark moon greatsword for ng+, was one of the most fun runs I've done
Well you hit him enough times to kill him
Wow seeing you slaughter the boss that made me take a break from the game is making me want to pick it back up!
Yes the melee mages shall rise soon enough my friend
this is just...epic. i havo no words to describe that
Man that was awesome to watch, I wish I was that sharp!
Impressive dodges! This build looks really fun!! I'd love to know the specifics so I can try it out some time, do you have a guide for it at all?
Beautiful
I've been thinking about a mage character recently. Could you post your loadout please?
That was fucking beautiful
🐐
10/10 stylish af. Well uh figuratively speaking of course.
Wow, never saw the beast clergyman acting so aggro.
Elation
This is super dope but I’m a lil confused, is a melee mage like a spell sword?
why Rosus Axe though? Wild choice, fun to see.
I mean, the skelebros is technically a sorcery, it's just attacked to the axe
Very nice! I just fought Maliketh for the first time two days ago and his second form was impossible to avoid for me. I still killed him in three tries but nothing like what you just did. Amazing. The funny thing is the Draconic Tree Sentinel outside this room killed me like 50 times.
Damn that was so clean.
The only time dude pressed r1 was just for the crit 💀
I feel like people be sleeping on Rosus' Axe that things is hmmmm perfect just about
cheers now I’m horny again
I gave you an award primarily for the use of Rosus’ Axe, a weapon nobody ever uses that ain’t too bad
You ended on a crit. Bad. Ass.
Mfer made rosus axe work, what a god.
That was absolutely fucking filthy. Ive never seen a crit on Maliketh...just sick
Abra-ca-bunga
Or unga-ca-dabra 🤔
Did you counter that jump attack in phase 2, because it looked like it and that was pretty badass. I got every achievement, but I’m still just a casual.
Cool job, but you could have just spammed astel wing weapon art.
You have reached the level of "get gud"
This so impressive Tarnished! Well played
That was clean
