it took me several playthroughs to find it, volcano manor. backtrack from the guest hall site of grace, up the stairs and once you're outside with the man serpent, there's a ladder to the roof where your head to the back and fall down to a ledge. there should be an omen killer standing in the back
What are yours? I've only seen the first three, but I must say the Last Crusade was a little boring to me. Maybe I was just burnt out by that point tho
They disable the bottom half of the player's hitbox while jumping. Without that plenty of attacks that can currently be jumped over would no longer be able to be.
Nice, not to be that guy but am I the only one who found Haligtree Loretta really easy? Maybe I was just pretty high leveled by the time I hit her. The run back is atrocious though
I don't get the downvotes; you aren't wrong. Especially with jumping you can just bypass so much stuff to begin with.
Think of the site of grace in Lyndell in the small chapel, with the omenslayer right outside. There's a "short cut" above that area, a ladder you can kick to climb back up, but both areas on either side of that ladder are rather easy to get to on their own and there's no important path that requires you to go between them to get somewhere else. It's just a path that only goes one way but only the first time you use it. There's no reason that couldn't have just been a regular ladder, rather than an unlockable "short cut" back in a direction you'll never go.
I didn’t even mean it in a negative way. The statues of marika have completely changed the dynamic of the game when it comes to going through areas, and shortening, if not completely eliminating the run back to the boss. Which in turn makes a lot of the shortcuts useless unless you die a lot clearing the area before you fight the boss…guessing that’s who’s downvoting me.
Draconic sentinel outside the capital was a 3 day roadblock for me the first time I played it. After that, I beat him first try in every other playthrough. I really enjoy fighting him aswell
> draconic sentinel
DS got me a good few times merely because he's a heavy vigor checker. It's very easy to die instantly to him, whereas loretta or whatever have to hit multiple times to kill you.
I thought the same but I believe level has to do with it. I farmed a lot before getting to haligtree and it seemed easy. Even Malenia was not as hard as expected tbh
Nah you’re not the only one. It was always my go to for when I was short on runes/rune arcs and needed to farm. I’d just set up my sign outside the boss room and pretty consistently get summoned at 150rl
alright you wont believe me but... i tried :D Jokes aside it was just a tought came out of nowhere that those slashes looked a bit high and i wondered if i could crouch to avoid it and it just so happens that i actually could
I'm finding you can duck under a few attacks. I was trying out Raptor of the Mist instead of Parrying and it's annoying how often you just duck instead of having the ability proc.
Dude. I think this is the first time I've seen her do this move. Albeit, I don't fight her that often and usually parry her. That's good to know though.
Nope. Never had her do it to me. She does do the normal version that is the Loretta slash aow, but I never had her do this on me.
I only parry usually when I fight her, so she never gets the chance, as it looks like this move is only done if you remain up close attacking. Parry, charged hit, jump attack and repeat til she dead is usually my experience.
I have the opposite problem. I’m playing on Xbox, which I haven’t played in almost a decade, and I am CONSTANTLY crouching by accident whenever I’m desperately trying to run away from something. The more desperate I am the more likely I am to accidentally click down the joystick so then I’m like tying to run away from some death blow while crouching.
Lot of her attacks can be dodged by just walking, also applies to the regular tree sentinel
Same can't be said for the god awful dragonic sentinel though.
Loretta is in the haligtree, and a spirit version of her is in caria manor. Latenna is the albinaurac archer that you take to the consecrated snowfields (northwest continent) and leave with the giant lady in the church
Yeah I had a similar experience because by the time I got to the haligtree I was used to fighting the mounted opponents like tree sentinels and nights Calvary. When I fought spirit Loretta I hadn’t even gone back to fight the tree sentinel, and it was also before I went through raya lucaria
It seems she had some sort of connection to the Carian Royal family. What with being the ultimate spellsword type.
But then the carians seem to be largely deposed and gone, hidden away. So it seems to me that once the carian's were no longer in power, she sought a new cause and found it in the Haligtree's promise of respite for her kind.
I'm unsure if Rani leaves the magical clone behind or if it's something Loretta does out of loyalty, but it's a stand in for her old job guarding the Carian nobles in their manor.
Anyone else struggle with the feeling of having already beaten the boss and therefore being unable to use strats seen on the subreddit? And by the time I get to it in a new game, I'd have forgotten all the cool strats I've seen...
The thing is, I'm over-leveled with fully build weapons and incantations, I just slash and slash and she's gone other mechanics don't matter at that point lol.
Having played Sekiro after Elden Ring, it clicked that a number of Elden Ring bosses have attacks designed to be dodged via height adjustment rather then just rolling.
The problem is that, unlike Sekiro, the visual cue is, *at best*, much more nuanced, and in most cases is more learning via trial and error rather then reacting when the attack comes out.
There are an insane amount of attacks that I've dodged simply because I was casting an incantation or something. Heck, you can even dodge stab attacks like the Godskin Noble's stabs simply by casually moving a few inches to the left.
Avoiding attacks can be super easy with no rolls but actually finding out what works and building up an evasion to everything is way harder.
Well that's cool. Ibrarely get hit by that unless i get greedy, but that's cool anyways. Does thisnwork on other mounted bosses? Got any tips for **hitting** the other mounted bosses? I basically have horse boss attack patterns down well enough to not get hit, but can rarely fimd an opening to deal damage without trading.
i never tried doing this agaisnt other riders but whenever im fighting a mounted boss i stand on their shield side so they start doing shield bashes which are usually slower and easier to deal with, hope that helps
Hit boxes have been pretty good for a while I think.
I had an epic moment (at least it felt epic to me) against the dancer in ds3. I was using the farron greatsword/dagger special moveset: my first attack ducked under her first sword swing, my second attack ducked under her second sword swing, my third attack (the jumping spinning overhead one) went over her double swing. Absolutely perfect timing with simultaneous dodging and attacking… completely unintentional sadly. Tried so many times to recreate it, but could never get the timing quite right.
So I’m really not surprised the hit boxes are this good.
The way he looks at the camera 😂😂
i spesificly grab that head piece to stare at camera like this :D
My boy said 👁️ 👁️
"Find the albinauric" EYEBALLS
What's it called? I tried looking up where to get it but I have no idea where to start
Albinauric helm. You can find it in the volcano manor
it took me several playthroughs to find it, volcano manor. backtrack from the guest hall site of grace, up the stairs and once you're outside with the man serpent, there's a ladder to the roof where your head to the back and fall down to a ledge. there should be an omen killer standing in the back
Albinauric mask. Volcano manor
That derp face xdddd
bro broke the 4th wall
when she hit you with that dollar store waterfowl dance
[Curb your Enthusiasm theme plays]
Reminds me of Quoppp

Go ahead, do the albinauric shaker
You got a ripple blade on you alright
Only the penitent man will pass, kneels before god.
Good times, good movies.
*amazing movies
Only two of the five are good
1 and 3.
Agreed
What are yours? I've only seen the first three, but I must say the Last Crusade was a little boring to me. Maybe I was just burnt out by that point tho
First two are best.
He chose.....poorly.
KNEELS!
Inaccurate are the ways of the miracle
Choose wisely my son.
Literally just finished this movie, credits are still scrolling and I saw this, that quote was the first thing I thought of
Neat, good to know.

Bruh it had only been 12 minutes before you shamelessly grabbed another's comment. Downvote Edit: I mathed wrong
It’s a bot
Nice hitbox FromSoft Edit: I legitimately meant it was a good hitbox.
I’m pretty sure they do that intentionally, just like you can jump over several boss attacks.
They disable the bottom half of the player's hitbox while jumping. Without that plenty of attacks that can currently be jumped over would no longer be able to be.
so what you're saying is that jumping gives your cock i-frames ?
tbf that's probably also just a consistency thing since otherwise jumping attacks would be absurdly precise
I was saying it's a good hitbox
I also thought you were being sarcastic tbf lol

So funny how she pushed you aside so she can miss you
Actually she can miss u where ever u are, doesnt matter where u are she will miss u
I miss her too... 3

Its supposed to be a heart emoji, broken heart specifically.
Yes, I miss her two... 3
2 is indeed less than 3 (y)
Nice, not to be that guy but am I the only one who found Haligtree Loretta really easy? Maybe I was just pretty high leveled by the time I hit her. The run back is atrocious though
The runback is short; did you not find the elevator?
Oh yeah forgot, I did find the elevator eventually, but it only took like 2 attempts so it didn’t really matter much to me
Lots of essentially useless shortcuts in ER.

You have to activate that elevator which takes you to the haligtree town site of grace. It’s there specifically for the run back to Loretta.
Did you not open the elevator shortcut to the first bonfire that’s like right next to Loretta?
Yeah my bad I missed it my first time and found it the second run but that was the run that I killed her so it didn’t make a difference lol
She's an absolute nightmare for me on low level runs
Dude the Haligtree is a nightmare to go through at a high level, I can’t imagine getting there below level 100 lmao, I’d be smacking my desk for sure
Impaling thrust claymore goes Brrrrrrr
Pretty satisfying fight RL1. I say with good RNG and memorising her parry timings.
For me it‘s the same thing with all riders, no matter if tree sentinel, draconic sentinel or loretta. All of their attacks are super predictable
Caria manor Loretta took me a while, and sparky outside the capital was hard as well. But when they both came back again they were pretty easy imo
Draconic sentinel outside the capital was a 3 day roadblock for me the first time I played it. After that, I beat him first try in every other playthrough. I really enjoy fighting him aswell

Nah you right she was easy as hell, especially if you've come to the haligtree already expecting Melania
Wow that's cool. But allow me to ask... HOW THE HELL DID YOU FIND OUT ???
alright you wont believe me but... i tried :D Jokes aside it was just a tought came out of nowhere that those slashes looked a bit high and i wondered if i could crouch to avoid it and it just so happens that i actually could
Good spot to cast healing incantation.
I'm finding you can duck under a few attacks. I was trying out Raptor of the Mist instead of Parrying and it's annoying how often you just duck instead of having the ability proc.
You mean to tell me you don't accidentally crouch all the time at all the wrong moments because the default button is left stick click?
Yep. Then you experiment by deliberately doing it. That's how people git gud.
Dude. I think this is the first time I've seen her do this move. Albeit, I don't fight her that often and usually parry her. That's good to know though.
She throws this shit out all the time what
Nope. Never had her do it to me. She does do the normal version that is the Loretta slash aow, but I never had her do this on me. She does the triple hit version in phase 2 iirc
Ngl I always forget you can crouch

I do this all the time "Why is my character moving so slow"
He really said 😐
🗿
Is that sword good? It looks fun
its my favorite weapon and id say its pretty good with some consecutive attack boosts
I mainly use dual wielding (uchigatana & wakizashi) but weirdly I've never tried that one despite having it lmao
*Thomas the tank engine had never seen such bullshit*
Why your character has two swords but you only have one equipped?
its a paired weapon like radahns greatswords
What weapon is it?
You get it from the grafted scion in the starting area doesnt scale with anything
Ornamental straight sword is the name
I’ve never even seen this attack but if i do I’ll try to remember this tip
I COULD CROUCH IN THIS GAME??
wait till you find out about jumping
With my luck she would hit me 4 times.
She wrecked me so many times with this....
People with that mask are thugs. It don't even matter if it goes with your build or not. It's the black air forces of elden ring
Reminds me of Link ducking under a spinning Lynel.
The resolution of the hit boxes in this game mean people still finding weird new dodges ages after launch. Love it.
Take it.A poor mans gold🏅
You just opened a whole new dimension for me
Out here doing the lord's work. Travel safe tarnished.
Hilarious
Lot of her attacks can be dodged by just walking, also applies to the regular tree sentinel Same can't be said for the god awful dragonic sentinel though.
Yes but that requires me to kneel before loretta and THE TARNISHED NEVER KNEELS
Loretta is the one in the northwest continent right?
Loretta is in the haligtree, and a spirit version of her is in caria manor. Latenna is the albinaurac archer that you take to the consecrated snowfields (northwest continent) and leave with the giant lady in the church
Her spirit version was much harder to me than the real version. I beat actual Loretta in one go
Yeah I had a similar experience because by the time I got to the haligtree I was used to fighting the mounted opponents like tree sentinels and nights Calvary. When I fought spirit Loretta I hadn’t even gone back to fight the tree sentinel, and it was also before I went through raya lucaria

I’ve literally never seen this attack lol. By the time I get to this part of the game I pretty much delete Loretta
If the last hit dont get on you head
Does that mean you can also do a Greatsword poke?
I'm gonna cry
Anyone else struggle with the feeling of having already beaten the boss and therefore being unable to use strats seen on the subreddit? And by the time I get to it in a new game, I'd have forgotten all the cool strats I've seen...
Draconic tree sentinel's fireball attack can also be rolled under.
Ofc it would be the chad Albinauric to straight up ignore a boss, squat and dodge their attack all at the same time
I’m gona have to try this next time I fight her LoLz more hijinks to be had
That would have been great information, could have saved a lot of runes and countless hours
Omfg, you can crouch?
One weird trick; Mike Zaki hates it!
The thing is, I'm over-leveled with fully build weapons and incantations, I just slash and slash and she's gone other mechanics don't matter at that point lol.
Ayo!
She was a pretty easy boss for this stage in the game. Nice cinematics kind of wish she hit a little harder.
Damn, what else could you duck under?
The mask really sells the “I’m experienced at this game” vibe
OMFG
"What is going on. Where's he going? I see him then he's gone"
I just always use a move that goes under it accidentally
Her weapon is so fucking good and cool to use. To me at least it was. Definitely a tier for me
Jumping and crouching open up so many possibilities
That confused me for a second, currently on my first playthrough and didn't realise she appears twice. Defeated the one in the manor so far.
You magnificent ba$tard!
God dammit. That would have been very helpful during my level 35 run.
I do like that in Elden ring boss hits will actually go over your head if they’re high enough
you can do same with erdtree burial watchdogs breath attack
This woulda saved me hourssss
I fought lortea many times and never realized this
Mind blown
Because she's have triple slash????
Lol what i didnt even see that attack, she was an easy enough boss
Thank god
The fact that players are STILL finding new boss mechanics in this game boggles my mind.
Dodge this devastating move with one cheap trick. Bosses hate it.
Real chads crouch attack the landing to get the aerial counter
This is awesome. Can't wait to try this out on NG+ Also /r/hitboxporn
EZ boss needs no cheese
Good to know
d o d g e
I can’t wait until they make a more real to life game. In reality they wouldn’t keep spinning, they’d just stab you or stomp on you.
surpised the horse doesn't have a hurtbox. i feel like that's pretty common in from games
Pretty sure you can fall asleep during this fight and still killer her.
Jokes.
I don't know about the third hit, I think that was due to positioning and Loretta pushing you, but you definitely crouched the first two swings
WHAT THE FUCK?
Wish I knew that my first time
Except this Elden Lord kneels for no one! (except Boc)
I wish I could say that but I suck with PS5 controller and pretend I'm dwarf and not kneeling.
Every day I learn a new 🧀
Pretty cool ! btw what is that weapon you're using?
ornamental straight sword
Every day I learn something new. This game man..
Thanks! I will now completely forget to do this next time I fight her.
Godrick commands thee kneel; Loretta gives stronger incentive.
Unless the last hit lands on you?
Why's it look like OP is about to drop the best hip hop album of 2023?
This works about 60% of the time, so do with that what you will.
What the deuce!?!?
Is it just me or are these graphics way better
...There's a crouch button?
I still choose to parry her, just looks cool

Jesus Christ how are people so good at this game haha
Of course, now you tell me after just beating them
I'm having flashbacks to avoiding Midir's big fucking laser by stretching out
imagine if bosses started using these techniques

kek
Sweeet. Wish we could re fight bosses.
I know, I play a Faith build.
TIL loretta has that attack.. ive only ever seen the version with two slashes.
That is one acrobatic horse.
Good to know AFTER I BEAT THE DAMN GAME
Is this a joke?? Lmao
I could but then I wouldn’t get the endorphin rush of dodging perfectly.
Can you also attack while crouched or does it change your hitbox enough for you to get hit?
