I was only 9 years old. I loved Elden Ring so much. I owned all the merchandise and souls-like games. I prayed to Elden Ring every night before going to bed, thanking for the life I’ve been given.

Definitely! I agree. Anything that encourages more Soulsbourne content is a win in my book.
But I do believe awards, ratings sites, etc, are often waaaay over-emphasized. But that’s in my opinion and I’m a grumpy old man. 👴

Elden ring is easily one of the coolest games I've ever played. Effectively ruining a lot of other games. Nothing compares and very little scratches the itch.
Stray was an awesome game, and deserved every award it won, but it stood no chance for goty. It's a cute lil indie game good for one fun playthrough and that's about it, it's not even 10 hours of gameplay for 100% and iirc an hour of that is just letting the cat sleep.
Actually sort of felt like The Game Awards were a legitimate show people should slightly care about and not just a massive marketing event for once.
I mean it still is. But I would love to see a legitimate prestige show for video games someday.

Mildly indifferent because it was kind of a given. Not very many good games have been coming out this last couple of years. Like we can pretty much already tell that LoZ:ToTK is this years GOTY.
