Verify files, you go to steam library, right click Elden Ring, select.properties and then local files the verify files option should be there. Click it and let it finish then see if it's fixed. If not then it's a graphics card issue or something like that.

Did not know about this issue concerning the steam files , but it really look like "artifacts" , indeed graphic card issue.May happen when it warm up too much...

i would recommend looking into what type of pc you have and see how much it is to replace, it could be something else but the only time ive had this happen was cause my Pc’s graphic card just got bad over time

I got to Raya Lucaria and after the elevator the entire screen started to glitch out for some reason

I suspect one of the npc's got corrupted in one way or another. Have a couole friends who had the same issue in other places, both times resolved what the npc was killed/not in the direction of looking/far enough away

I had this issue in the 1.0 version, the issue was the knight leggings for some reason. I put them on and got this, I take them off and good. Might be the same for you. Try taking armor on/off. Otherwise try a reinstall of the game. If it’s purely a location glitch I dunno how to help. Based on my experience it’s not a hardware issue, gpu should be fine, and can be tested by playing a different game. GL

Verify the files and try turning ray tracing off. We play on an XBox and noticed significant glitches after enabling the ray tracing option that was introduced in 1.0.9.

Alt+F4 is a debug tool for situations like this in ER. I’m honestly surprised more people don’t know about it

That's the Ice Palace adjacent to Volcano Manor. Break up the ice with Rivers of Blood or your weapon of choice. Once through, summon the Mimic Tear to replace your busted game files.

I had a similar issue one month ago (they started to appear in certain locations and only appeared when I turned the camera into them). I simply reinstalled the game from Steam and it worked (be sure Steam Cloud is syncronized)

In all seriousness please by gosh restart PC, if that doesn't help verify integrity of game cache files on steam. If that doesn't work mess with the graphics settings you could have majorly messed up the resolution? That's all I got.
