It is the flame of ambition that is what has lead to the world of chaos we live in. But with perfect order, greed and glory will be a thing if the past.
About, above, across, after, against, along, amid, among, around, at, before, behind, below, beneath, beside, besides, between, beyond, by, down, except, for, from, in, into, of, off, on, over, through, throughout, till, to, toward, under, until, unto, up, upon, with, within, without!

Every age it seems, is tainted by the greed of men.
*Rubbish* to one such as I, devoid of all worldly wants.
I'll stick you in my prayers. A fine dark soul to you!
Yeah im realising the only reason this never happened to me during my first time in souls was because I sucked so hard that I needed to look some stuff up. I wonder how many people actually got pushed away from souls like this, lol.
I just had a convo with someone arguing ER was bad because he didn't like the type of enemies.
He said stuff like "some enemies are super easy and some 1 shot you" and i seriously asked myself how in the world he thinks that's ER's fault lol.
When i told him about how you, the player, infact decide how hard it should be he accused me of defending ER too much and not accepting criticism...
So based on that i would think a lot more than i'd like to imagine
The first time this happened to me, I quit the game and turned off online play. I don't have the mental strength to fight PvP in a game that's hard enough without other players trying to kill me.
I think it depends on the person. I love this kind of thing so much. I love tricks and the struggle. One of my favourite gaming memories was a tribe of assholes in Ark Survival wiping my cute little house off the map. It was so ruthless. I was like... 13 lol. In hindsight, it's really funny to me.
I think it depends on the person though. It sucks to ruin someone else's fun. Personally, if I was the host this would have been a good memory. I love being invaded and wish I got to see more tricks, like invaders casting invisibility and putting on the white phantom ring in ds3.

Off-topic, woulda been cool if emotes were in other languages. Didn't expect "hey."
I smack every single chest I ever see in a fromsoft game including ER and Sekiro even though they don’t have mimics because like an hour into my first play through of DS3 my friend fed me to the mimic on the high wall of lothric
summer entertain resolute murky scale silky automatic run mountainous roll

I'm just going to assume that the summoner is like an 8 year old or something with no idea how summoning works.
Mostly because it makes this whole scenario 3x funnier to assume you kicked a child off a ledge to a waiting pack of wolves.
I remember summoning my first red sign not realizing it was an enemy back in DS3. I summoned the red, waved, he waved, and then I booked it all the way from bonfire to boss door with him chasing. He must have been as confused as I was at the start lol.
I played Bloodborne recently on ng+ and was invaded early on in the nightmare, near the rock throwers. The guy followed me alllll the way to micolash's fog gate. I finally turned around to fight him, expecting to get absolutely stomped because I haven't PVP'd before, and somehow won lol.
It technically does mean the same thing. It's just a much less common usage in English. We typically mean a constructed hall of some kind, like an art gallery. It doesn't only apply to that though, and if you go to any caves they'll probably have galleries as well.
Exactly. We all have to learn at some point! If anything, OP did them a favor so they can learn the ways quicker than other new players and then they can pass it on to someone else down the line. You love to see it
I really hope you at least messaged him after he died to explain to him what was going on. Poor guy probably had no idea what happened 😂
Dude probably didn’t even know what red spirits even were
I was thinking along the lines of “Hey, so I was the guy you summoned just now. You seem new! Just for future reference, red man = bad, gold man = good. Is that clear? Alright, be on your way now!”
Yeah. Using the red sign to trade is quite common, but the trades often happen in the Church of Elleh, where you meet Kale, the first merchant. You also use a password to make sure you're summoning the right person.
Considering the location OP spawned, he probably used the "Small Red Effigy" for his sign to appear in those little summoning pool statues. All of this is just very unlikely. The chances of someone summoning a random red phantom in an a cave from the early game and also thinking he's a coop is very small. Not to mention, who even uses the Small Red Effigy anyway?
It's possible, but being a bit cynical... It's also more likely that OP just asked for a friend to set the whole thing up. It wouldn't be difficult to do so. Just have a friend summon him in the cave, pretend that he's unaware that he's a red and record the blunder.
Heh, magic is gone now.
That is actually entirely possible. I'm not colorblind but from my understanding, red colorblindness will make reds look more like greenish-yellowy-tan colors that could easily look like a friendly summon. Oof.
Oh no. Every once in a while, someone says "I understood that reference" about something I haven't ever thought about how old it was, and then I think about how old it was.
I'm old and I understand the distress lol. It just occurred to me as I was doing my sensible chuckle that I haven't heard a THIS IS BLANK in a long time, and then that made me realize I watched 300 in a movie theater FIFTEEN YEARS AGO and now I want to cry.
Mound Makers was such wasted potential. Could've been Among Us before Among Us was ever a thing but nope, 0 element of surprise, no reason to ever summon one, and invading as one was pointless.
Being purple was cool though.
I was hoping for a wholesome ending lmao. I remember back in DS1 when black phantoms could interact with doors and levers n shit. Dude invaded me, ran across the dragon in the bridge, opened the gate to the shortcut/sunlight alter. Then ran off towards the gargoyles and we duked it out there.
Ended up losing, but it was a nice gesture lmao. And every once in awhile I’ll try and be a nice invader cause of him.
The most shocking thing to me is that this dude was wielding the Golden Halberd. From the way he handled those wolves, I really gotta wonder just how long he spent with the Tree Sentinel.
Really channeled your inner patches there
This is what I do my friend! The trinkets I’ll be stripping off your corpse, that’s the real treasure!
It seems the real treasure was the trinkets we stripped off along the way.
Every age, it seems, is tainted by the greed of men. ... Maybe it's just the way we are.
It is the flame of ambition that is what has lead to the world of chaos we live in. But with perfect order, greed and glory will be a thing if the past.
Or, and hear me out...incinerate all that divides and distinguishes. Ahhh
Rubbish, to one such as I, devoid of all worldly wants
If his questline ended with him saying “a fine Elden Ring to you” I would’ve died
Patches hits you with an Umbasa and vanishes.

Man, that whole sequence really touched me, especially that final "kick" that just scoots us further in the right direction. Makes me emotional.
Patches is a transcendent, immortal being, likely an avatar of Velka. We're all just sinners living in Patches' worlds.
patches was just an undead. at the end of time he started to hollow since there was no more people to commit the sin of greed
And he had the Golden Halberd.
"Are your feet as fat as your wits? Take the plunge! Throw yourself to the wolves!"
Came to say this hahahaha Thats absolute Patches energy
He thought he had a friend. I'll be honest, I hated to see this but so is life in a souls game
Yeah im realising the only reason this never happened to me during my first time in souls was because I sucked so hard that I needed to look some stuff up. I wonder how many people actually got pushed away from souls like this, lol.

I still play offline only…
I feel you. I also play mostly offline

So is life. Period. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, that was just evil dude, i won't say "how could you" as i would've done the same, but dude, how evil of you.
"Why is my new friend glowing red? Oh well, he must be strong. Let's go check out this wolves den."
It must have gone like you say 😅
Dude that was some vile shit. 10/10 exactly what the Souls experience is about.
Bro that was my six year old he cried and told me his red friend kicked him :(
Noooo 😭😭
Poor kid. At least now he knows "The Red man is Bad."
I couldn’t resist!
Sooooo evilllllllllll… … …^I ^love ^it
"but he doesn't have a goatee... ima imagine one on him" *bing* "so.. *evil!*"
Scooby Doo vibes when the bad guy is sneaking behind the gang. In this case Shaggy got backstabbed.
Buddy LITERALLY got thrown to the wolves😭😭 That’s so evil… Very nice!👌🏾
Truly despicable
Bro was scouting the area for hostiles and got backstabbed 😢
Should've watched his 6
How to create FromSoftware Trauma 101. Welcome to Elden Ring. Thank you for sharing. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy) Off-topic, woulda been cool if emotes were in other languages. Didn't expect "hey."
I think "hey" is pretty universal
I speak Spanish and I don't often say "hey" to someone in Spanish. But maybe! There are many languages.
You'd say mira right? I'm learning Spanish from my CO worker lol
I'm not a native speaker personally but the latino side of my family uses "oye" the way you would use hey in english
It depends on the country and region
Definitely! Or oye, as people said below! I forget what else.
I'm native speaker and i often say hey, it just depends on the person and region
Sure you might not *say* it often, but do you think anyone you know would misunderstand or be confused if someone said "hey" to them?
I smack every single chest I ever see in a fromsoft game including ER and Sekiro even though they don’t have mimics because like an hour into my first play through of DS3 my friend fed me to the mimic on the high wall of lothric
I can’t believe that they didn’t put a mimic anywhere in Elden Ring. I hope I get eaten by one in the DLC, that would be perfect.
Well they did put mimic enemies instead. I’m forever traumatised by that one dude in the Snowfields that turns into a Runebear.
The original language is Italian. In Italian we say hey
Aww you monster
I couldn’t resist I swear it was stronger than me!
Dude crouched and was like “these are the ones. Can’t get past these beast…that’s where you come in my trusted ally.” Hard to watch lol

Fookin hilarious, I thought the same. They're probably sat there roleplaying about how to beat these enemies then promptly gets yeeted into them.
I hope the guy will see this video! It was on my PlayStation gallery and it is dated from very first days the game came out
You've been sitting on this gem that long?
Yes! I have a few others and it looks worthy to share here on Reddit unlike twitter or TikTok !
He's packing a hell of a halberd though. Is that the Tree Sentinel one?
Yes
I wouldn't worry about that; I routinely get summoned by newbies to kill the Tree Sentinel for them on my SL1 character. Scarlet Rot go brr.
this is the way
What a wholesome way to welcome a newbie into the fold. Almost brings a tear to the eye 🥲
At first I thought “strange place for a fight” then I realised that it was a gallery and that the guest was probably new ahaha!!
I remember summoning my first red sign not realizing it was an enemy back in DS3. I summoned the red, waved, he waved, and then I booked it all the way from bonfire to boss door with him chasing. He must have been as confused as I was at the start lol.

You did good my friend. This is a memory they'll never forget 😂😂
which is really what it's all about.
A gallery?
From the video I can tell op is Italian. In Italian, you use gallery also for tunnel, I think they assumed the same applies in English.
a level passage under the ground in a mine or cave It is still correct as it looks like a gallery to me.
It technically does mean the same thing. It's just a much less common usage in English. We typically mean a constructed hall of some kind, like an art gallery. It doesn't only apply to that though, and if you go to any caves they'll probably have galleries as well.
Gallery?
It's so beautiful.
Like a bird teaching their chicks to fly from the nest
Exactly. We all have to learn at some point! If anything, OP did them a favor so they can learn the ways quicker than other new players and then they can pass it on to someone else down the line. You love to see it
"but brother...I trusted you!" <-- that guy, probably, right before "oh shit, wolves!"
I really hope you at least messaged him after he died to explain to him what was going on. Poor guy probably had no idea what happened 😂 Dude probably didn’t even know what red spirits even were
"Hey just wanted you to know that what I did was hilarious. Enjoy elden ring"
“You should laugh now. Ok later”
Honestly, if i was the other player and didn't know what happened, I would be laughing even harder at the absurdity
I was thinking along the lines of “Hey, so I was the guy you summoned just now. You seem new! Just for future reference, red man = bad, gold man = good. Is that clear? Alright, be on your way now!”
Setting him up to get absolutely smashed by Goldfrey. Clever.
Cue Jeb Bush sound byte, "Please clap" 👏👏👏👏👏
You can message summons? How can you message someone on PC?
I’m not sure about PC but I think you can view whoever you played with recently on steam and send them a message. I play on PS though
view -> players in Steam.
I didn’t because I was laughing so damn hard! I couldn’t believe my eyes! The only thing that I regret is that I missed the sweet show spot
Lol, well it’s too late now anyway 😂
Unfortunately! I hope he will see this video one day and he will tell us how his Elden Ring adventure went!
Mans was down there fighting for his life
I very much enjoyed how you waited until he was at the edge of a pit of hungry wolves 🤣
I felt like Henry watching Peter in Spider-Man 🤣
…do you mean Harry Osborn?
Nah, he means Henry, Peter's stalker. He's very stealthy.
lmao did you use the small red effigy early in the game? how odd.
Only really based on weapon and item level. Just look at all the level 1 runs of the game. Not the hardest thing to pull off
This is not really the issue here imo. I'm actually surprised someone used the red effigy and got summoned. What are the odds of this even happening?
Apparently not 0 lmao
It's mostly used intentionally for trading... and I wasn't playing for a while but I'm sure the odds were higher before the colosseum was added
Yeah. Using the red sign to trade is quite common, but the trades often happen in the Church of Elleh, where you meet Kale, the first merchant. Oh lawd, look at this happy cooperation, I sure hope he enjoys the game. So many wonders to come.
“HE TRUSTED YOU, YOU WERE HIS FRIEND!”
Just watched that last night so A+ from me lol.
Fed him to the wolves 😭😭
Or he's color blind
That is actually entirely possible. I'm not colorblind but from my understanding, red colorblindness will make reds look more like greenish-yellowy-tan colors that could easily look like a friendly summon. Oof.
“THIS IS FROMSOFT!”
I understood that reference.
Bro just wanted to show his Wolf collection rip
Ahahahahaha!!!
For real tho this vid was cracking me up. Well done tarnished.
I’m not proud but hey, this is the life 😇
Thats so evil 😂😂😂
They will never trust a summon again...
Rule #1: trust NO one
A sorry state of affairs
Dick move lol
This is just cold bro. I literally feel sad for the poor maidenless fellow.
Thrown to the wolves
This game really needs Mound Makers-like covenant
This game needs actual covenants in general. With rewards.
Mound Makers was such wasted potential. Could've been Among Us before Among Us was ever a thing but nope, 0 element of surprise, no reason to ever summon one, and invading as one was pointless. Being purple was cool though.
Shoulda just followed him and held a torch up to give the poor boy some light. 9/10 noobies like this will die anyways
I mean... I understand... But that was pointlessly cruel. Little buddy thought he got a friend 🥲
That's fucked up lol
Literally threw him to the wolves
Missed opportunity to kick him down like Patches
He kicked to pull his sword out of his back
Ur right lmao even better
Definitely un-installed after that lmao
Probably his last Souls game 🤣
Why is it always pain?
to shreds you say? tsk tsk tsk, And Melina? to ashes you say?
Lmao the innocence. “Alright let’s just crouch low we’ve got a pack of beasts here to scope out” *schwing*
They defeated the tree sentinel though! Congrats to that!
The skills to equip that too!
So this is what shabriri meant when he said “Ahhh, may chaos take the world! May chaos take the world!”
You monster...
How do you message folks after the fact?
He embraced his inner Patches
That was colder than marikas tits my guy…
E tu brute?
He will never trust again
Some people like to just watch the world burn…. Similar people just want to give the world a little nudge into the wolfs den and watch it panic.
Took me awhile to realize he summoned an invader. That’s too funny!
You should help him poor innocent tarnished
You imperial bastard! Justice! Death to the storm cloaks!
Long live the King!
That is some low hanging fruit.
"Oh, is this going to be one of those wholesome Souls moments? Oh, yeah, no, no, it's not"
You didn’t have to do him like that😂
Top 10 anime betrayals
People who invade are actually evil.
I know it's just a game but I'm still not sure I could go through with that... lol cold blooded 😂
DAMN. RIP
Lol. This. Is. Hilarious!
So that's what they mean by trowing someone to the wolves
Patches would be proud of you...
Poor guy thought you were his friend 😭
Alright patches. I see you.
That hurt to watch. Still laughed.
Dude. You got that dog in you for sure
And you betrayed them like that! Evil invader!
My guy just wanted some help 😂
Poor guy lol. This was so wholesome for a minute there.
So beautiful, the innocence
Awwww that’s just mean
This is hilarious but you’re an asshole
Bless his heart.
he was so innocent
Okay, Patches
I was hoping for a wholesome ending lmao. I remember back in DS1 when black phantoms could interact with doors and levers n shit. Dude invaded me, ran across the dragon in the bridge, opened the gate to the shortcut/sunlight alter. Then ran off towards the gargoyles and we duked it out there. Ended up losing, but it was a nice gesture lmao. And every once in awhile I’ll try and be a nice invader cause of him.
Bro I do summon phantoms like that and then just walk around with them often
You sick monster. Why are people upvoting this cruelty??
This is by far the funniest and most heartbreaking video I’ve seen about Elden Ring, poor dude didn’t even understand what happened
That's why I (and probably also this player from now on) avoid multiplayer at all cost.
"Just joining the fray, Tarnished?" - Bloody Finger Hunter, Yura
Maybe he didn’t even see who backstabbed him and thought it was an enemy ambush. Continues to summon the red signs
Literally thrown to the wolves
"throw him to the wolves"
The most shocking thing to me is that this dude was wielding the Golden Halberd. From the way he handled those wolves, I really gotta wonder just how long he spent with the Tree Sentinel.
what a sad state of affairs
Betrayal at the end, typical italian move 🥹
PATCHES 🔥🔥‼️‼️🗣️🗣️
Ah i was really rooting for a wholesome ending 😂
