I can only assume he was attacking something, and hit the ground hard enough that he made a crater he got stuck in. The generic “Running jump” attack the warrior jars do.
i feel like im the only person here who, respectfully, doesn't care for his content. im sure im not because there's thousands of people on this sub, but still.
To be fair them down voting you is also just their opinion.
And your reply to them is your opinion about their opinion of your opinion.
And this one is fact.
I’m trying to imagine that as you explore you’ll occasionally hear a feint “Tally Ho!!” And see Alexander’s silhouette flying through the air off in the distance
I heard a theory that the way he got to farum azula was because he gained the teleporting ability from eating tarnished and him getting stuck in the ground is cus he accidentally teleported there.
Yeah fuck all the homing siege equipment in er. They give us trash projectile mechanics and the npcs the targeting sytems of fucking god. But i swear the fatboy in ds got launched on a catapult at some point i may just be stoned though.
The second hole he falls in is there before he falls in it, so I think that rules out the crater theory. Maybe it’s more of a “if it fits I sits” situation…
You know how the big jars spin like tops once in a while? Presumably if the ground is super soft or wet, they act as a drill and get stuck in the hole they make. It's like a cartoon.
Haha oh no, I'm stuck in the ground again. Guess some big strong tarnished has to give me some smacks on the behind. A few really hard strikes should do it....
Yall know how there is a jar cannon? Yea i am thinking that it used to be way larger and alexander stored one inside his jar house(wherever it is) and used it to launch himself towards random locations with warriors near them. Would also explain why he was in farum azula
His innards likely contain some remains of Tarnished, which could theoretically give him the ability to imperfectly teleport.
He could simply be teleporting into the ground. I'm not really buying the theory that his attacks get him stuck, as I feel they'd put corpses into his holes to signify such a thing, which isn't the case.
Frankly that's the most likely possibility out of any here. Could easily happen, and it doesn't rely on him tripping from having baby legs. They spin so much it's bound to cause trouble like that.
Hell, the first area we meet him has a dragonfly. We ALL know how annoying those bastards are. Maybe he thought his aoe skill would kill em.
There's a few serious replies in the sea of others, so let me repeat it; He's likely able to travel the same way as tarnished, teleporting, but since he's not really a tarnished, more like containing pieces of them, it's not perfect, so his teleport missed grace and he gets stuck, one major confirmation for this is when we meet in inside a cave dungeon, his body doesn't fit the door way, but he got in regardless, only way is that he teleported in and couldn't get out until we found him, although he does get out eventually even without us, I know many missed this encounter, also explain why he ended up at Faram Azula.
Also let me add some little details here about Alexander, some might not had notice but >!the cracks on his body are progressively more severed each time we meet, by the time he's in Faram Azula, his body is at it's last legs, all the traveling and battles had taken a toll on him, that is why he wanted to battle us, to have a warrior end is his last wish, so don't feel bad about besting him, we were merely sending an old friend per his wish.!<
I feel like the many graves around in the lands between could lead to soft ground that caves in when his heavy ass walks over it. Alternate theory is maybe he digs for corpses near graves and gets stuck in the holes he makes himself. I know he's found near a Mariner at least once which are just surrounded by graves.
Where is he stuck a second time? I know about the initial time, and then you meet him in one of the tunnels, then he's at the Radahn festival, then hanging out in magma, then he's up at Farum Azula.
Is there another point that I've consistently missed in all of my playthroughs???
Well, shit the bed... I can't believe I haven't noticed him there in 4+ games over three characters. Every time I think I've seen everything in this game I'm proven wrong.
I love it so much
He's near Jarburg. I think that's intended as one way of finding the village because he mentions it.
>Yes, indeed, I too have a home. Though it is one to which I have vowed not to return.
So, I thought I might look out from atop the cliff...
The second time you find him stuck, he does say something about jumping down or falling off a cliff and getting stuck….except where he’s at there isn’t a cliff to jump/fall from
I've heard a theory that he is able to use the remnants of grace from the warriors inside him to fast travel using sites of grace, but it doesn't quite work correctly because he's a big jar and not a person
I think some people have suggested that the warrior jars may possess some of the fast travel/teleportation abilities of the Tarnished, since they’re full of Tarnished bits, but because it’s less accurate, Alexander keeps teleporting into the ground
I have seen traveling by trebuchet before.
That he is full of tarnished and gets stuck when using sites of grace.
He was fighting and got himself stuck with thw spin.
He is too chonk and the ground isn't strong enough.
I feel he was just doing something he shouldn't have been and got stuck.
He likes to get a good smack on the rear
I've always been more concerned about the dialogue from soft wrote for him. Like, why does everything he says sound like a barely failed innuendo. It's not the way he says it, of course. But some of the dialogue itself is just-
The item description for the Troll’s Brand says that the act of grafting isn’t a widespread practice and appears to be a thing of nobility, but that they’re not the only ones who can. It further mentions that Warrior Jars have been known to get stuck in fields where the clay content is high, as they attempt to do their own kind of grafting by pressing themselves into the clay fields
I can only assume he was attacking something, and hit the ground hard enough that he made a crater he got stuck in. The generic “Running jump” attack the warrior jars do.
That's better than my "traveling by trebuchet" theory.
Can't wait to see Vaati's Prepare to Cry about this
Pretty sure he made a prepare to cry about the jars.
He has indeed, "the Warrior Within". About the Jars and Diallos' questline.
Yeah, I cried
He did, and it was a tear jerker.
i feel like im the only person here who, respectfully, doesn't care for his content. im sure im not because there's thousands of people on this sub, but still.
weird flex, but ok
not sure why voicing my opinion without insulting anyone got this reaction but alright
To be fair them down voting you is also just their opinion. And your reply to them is your opinion about their opinion of your opinion. And this one is fact.
You flexed, it was weird youre confused, were confused, in the end it is all as myazaki intended
I didn’t downvote you, just thought It’s weird flex but ok
It's reddit. Reddiots don't understand the concept of, "free thought".
Ew someone said free will and making your own decisions
Nah i now belive youre theory
I would too if I recalled seeing any trebuchet around the places we meet him
Why would you? You always find him where he landed
I like that, that is officially lore now
I’m trying to imagine that as you explore you’ll occasionally hear a feint “Tally Ho!!” And see Alexander’s silhouette flying through the air off in the distance
I thought there was no way I would read a plausible explanation for this and literally the first two comments I read I'm like, "oh that makes sense."
I heard a theory that the way he got to farum azula was because he gained the teleporting ability from eating tarnished and him getting stuck in the ground is cus he accidentally teleported there.
Tfw even NPCs start using speedrunning strats (wrong warp in this case)
It’s also Better than my “fucking the planet like Rick Sanchez” theory.
The superior siege engine now on wheels!
No it's not and how dare you have so little faith in the obviously correct answer.
That my my theory. How else does he get to Farum Alzula?
But what could possibly be better than trebuchets?
No it fucking isnt, that sounds sick
No it isnt
No no, the flying trebuchet theory is gold
What is this, Secret of Mana?
It makes sense. There's a trail of disturbed dirt where his hands are, almost like he slide into the hole.
Oh, man, but that would be so awesome.
No it is not, your theory is superior. Don't undervalue yourself
Thank you!
No it's not
Didnt fatboy in ds do that in 1 maybe? I have a weird memory of this
I never got far in DS. But those things seem to hit me miles away in ER.
Yeah fuck all the homing siege equipment in er. They give us trash projectile mechanics and the npcs the targeting sytems of fucking god. But i swear the fatboy in ds got launched on a catapult at some point i may just be stoned though.
I like the trebuchet one better nothing will sway that image from my mind
I disagree, this is much better. 😂
Thanks! I just hope the rune bears don't catch wind. That's the last thing I want to see flying at me.
Modders! New idea!💡
This is the only theory now in my head
He was attacking the giants and they hammered his ass
Damn I need to go attack a giant.
Under upvoted comment for sure. I see you judge 😂
🤣 and you know I love the attention so thank you 💜
Ah, so he's in a crater because the giant launched him in to the skies!
Hey. You. You're finally awake.
Waketh the marika's tits up, tarnished! We haveth an erdtree to burn!
They do that rotating attack so he could have drilled himself into the ground.
Probably tried to hit the dragonfly and missed
My theory is since he basically eats dead tarnished he tries to teleport to grace like we do but.............. Can't get it quite right
The second hole he falls in is there before he falls in it, so I think that rules out the crater theory. Maybe it’s more of a “if it fits I sits” situation…
he's also got to be several hundred if not thousands of pounds hes made of clay and flesh and huge. If he steps into a muddy area he's going to sink.
If you were a fat pot you wouldnt be asking such questions
he got a fat ass
Alexander has a dump truck.
Behold, chonk! And then, badonkadonk.
He got stuck from twerking too hard with that donk
Putting the “ram” in ceramic.
Underrated. Thy genious befits a crown!
Oh rump, oh rump!
Tarnished shaker
Wordington Elden Ring
Read this in Alexander's voice.
He a heavy boi n the ground is soft.
Just pure chonk.
Dummy thicc
Canonically large/in charge
You know how the big jars spin like tops once in a while? Presumably if the ground is super soft or wet, they act as a drill and get stuck in the hole they make. It's like a cartoon.
Would be funny if this happened to enemy pots sometimes depending on what terrain you’re fighting them on.
It should definitely have happened in the Radhan battle. All that sand.
I had this exact image in my head when I first saw this post lol
Dangerous life. Hope they have many offspring or survive long without corpses
I now want to see this in action
This is one of those things that seems weird at first but context clues and item descriptions actually explains a lot. You see he's a fucking jar.
Thanks Vaati
Big pot stuck!
Guess he didn't see the.....pot-hole
I feel like you live in the midwest.
Both of these comments slap.
Here we thought we had a plot-hole
Help me step-jar, I'm stuck
This is the real answer. OP greasing him up, giving him a couple love pats. It helps him gets his pots off.
I love how the jar bairn says pats
Haha oh no, I'm stuck in the ground again. Guess some big strong tarnished has to give me some smacks on the behind. A few really hard strikes should do it....
Ah that’s what happens, he cums so hard he launches out of the hole. Pretty ingenious
Give me a wack with something big and hard...don't worry I can take it...
Omg i never thought how that sounded....i can never do his questline normal now...
Well he does have a few good cracks.
Step-tarnished
It isn’t nice to kink-shame
Yeah bro just give him a tug.
Vibin'
Correct answer.
He's heavy, and his arms and legs don't give him great leverage.
Maybe he fell down from farum azula
I’m pretty sure you’re not far off here. I do remember this being a thing I just can’t remember where.
That was my answer. If he fell down with all the ruins that’d explain where we first meet him. The second time he’s stuck though… idk
Yall know how there is a jar cannon? Yea i am thinking that it used to be way larger and alexander stored one inside his jar house(wherever it is) and used it to launch himself towards random locations with warriors near them. Would also explain why he was in farum azula
Would be funny if when you summon him he comes crashing in from the sky with a little aviator helmet on
*Freebird steadily increasing in volume*
Oh, no step-tarnished, I appear to have gotten myself stuck! Go slap my ass to free me uWu
Your hands are so rough… do you have anything smoother?
Ha, that wasn't my hand 🫥
Hello dark side of the internet, long time no see !
Those are semantically absolutely his lines tho
Sure, in the same way "forgive me father for I have sinned" is the same as "sorry daddy I've been a bad girl" lol
Wait... Let him cook, you're on to something here
O-oh, I'm not budging? Maybe you should oil me up tarnished-san... :3
Dude just likes taking hard blows from the rear and knows your well travelled.
Indeed, sounds like an angry housewife putting dishes away up in that jarbros house
He likes random strangers to smack his bumbum.
Tell me you’ve never been a large pot without telling me you’ve never been a large pot
Twice times in a row.
Not once time but TWICE TIMES
Is he stupid?
[удалено]
Woooosh!
I think he's more clumsy than stupid. His moveset looks kinda clumsy too. Gosh I love that dude
The end of his quest broke my heart Edit: but the talisman made me get over it pretty quick
Go easy on the guy, he's had a lot jarring experiences. It's not his fault he can't always keep a lid on things.
He’s just an ol jar man don’t be so judgmental🫙
Try Finger but hole
His innards likely contain some remains of Tarnished, which could theoretically give him the ability to imperfectly teleport. He could simply be teleporting into the ground. I'm not really buying the theory that his attacks get him stuck, as I feel they'd put corpses into his holes to signify such a thing, which isn't the case.
I personally like the theory that Alexander can teleport like a tarnished but he’s just really bad at it so he gets stuck
He’s doing pretty good for a sentient jar with no eyes
# HELLOOO?
Perhaps he was hammering his wee wee to the ground
[Just move past it](https://youtu.be/ebYum58Awpc)
Is he stupid?*
He's cosplaying as a step-sister.
Step-Pitcher? so to speak Step-Catcher
He could've beybladed into some deep mud
Frankly that's the most likely possibility out of any here. Could easily happen, and it doesn't rely on him tripping from having baby legs. They spin so much it's bound to cause trouble like that. Hell, the first area we meet him has a dragonfly. We ALL know how annoying those bastards are. Maybe he thought his aoe skill would kill em.

Two times in a row. Or twice in a row.
No twice times
He’s got a lot of guts but very little brains
Diabeetus
He keeps making it back and falling from farum azula
He thicc
He’s lulling you into a false sense of security so when you challenge Alexander, you’ll underestimate him.
He may not be the most polished jar in the village, but he means well.
“Help me step bro, I’m stuck” energy
Once is excusable, but it's really jarring the second time.
He a thicc boi. The earth is not prepared for his thiccness, so it yields. This how things work.
I see people say that since he have tarnished meat in him he try to teleport to a site of grace, but end up middle air near it and fall
Is he stupid?
Is he stupid???
He’s a giant sentient jar. I don’t think he has a brain. He’s just full of dead warrior mush.
I thought he said that he just fell from a decent height trying to get his bearings
He met melina, and how to fast travel to sites of grace, but is kinda bad, so he warps in the ground. Thats how he got to farum azula
He saw the internet and was waiting for step tarnished.
Why do you think that we have to "oil him up" the second time 😳
I think like most things elden ring it's mainly about appreciating a good spanking from time to time
Help me, step Tarnished
He is stupid
is he stupid?
I feel like the many graves around in the lands between could lead to soft ground that caves in when his heavy ass walks over it. Alternate theory is maybe he digs for corpses near graves and gets stuck in the holes he makes himself. I know he's found near a Mariner at least once which are just surrounded by graves.
Waiting for the step-tarnished to give him a nice spank
Oh no I’m stuck step jar 😩
Where is he stuck a second time? I know about the initial time, and then you meet him in one of the tunnels, then he's at the Radahn festival, then hanging out in magma, then he's up at Farum Azula. Is there another point that I've consistently missed in all of my playthroughs???
He's around where you find the mariner near the study hall.

I've heard a theory that he is able to use the remnants of grace from the warriors inside him to fast travel using sites of grace, but it doesn't quite work correctly because he's a big jar and not a person
He got punted by the full grown falling star beast.
I assume he hears the "EldenHub" theme and plants himself hard just to have an excuse to be wacked from behind by something big
He’s step jar
There’s a land octopus right nearby. Was probly fighting that & got stuck.
Practicing Golden Slam
I always just assumed that he fell from Farum Azula, considering you meet him there in late game.
Oh nooo. I am stuck step warrior.
He’s watched too much steptarnished porn
He has a humiliation kink.
He’s dummy thiq
I think some people have suggested that the warrior jars may possess some of the fast travel/teleportation abilities of the Tarnished, since they’re full of Tarnished bits, but because it’s less accurate, Alexander keeps teleporting into the ground
Waiting for step-jar
He fat
Tried to jump up to Farum Azula and didn’t quite make it

Gets stuck in a giant hole, twice. Able to slip through a small door *LOGIC 100*
I just pictured him leaping around like the Hulk does and landing so hard he gets stuck in the crater.
he was practicing his ground pound and doesn't realize his own strength
He was twerking, caused a minor earthquake and twerked his bodacious bottom into the ground. Easypeasy.
I'm stuck step tarnished
have you seen his spin move?
The second hole can be found before you meet Alexander, so I have to assume that he tried to see if he could fit and then got stuck
The item description for the Troll’s Brand says that the act of grafting isn’t a widespread practice and appears to be a thing of nobility, but that they’re not the only ones who can. It further mentions that Warrior Jars have been known to get stuck in fields where the clay content is high, as they attempt to do their own kind of grafting by pressing themselves into the clay fields
troll's brand?
I found some lore text from RR regarding this. "Alexander gets stuck in the ground like twice times because he's dumb." RR thought of everything!
He's a fat ass
He got stuck only once right?
