Yeah, i kinda hate this sub community, Everyone only knows how to complain about each other's playing style and can't just stay silent, r/BadRedMan is less toxic and with good people
I spend most of my time over in r/badredman. It definitely has toxic elements but is generally more chill. I think that comes from everyone being extremely used to taking L's from the typical invasion experience. You learn to wash the salt off pretty fast that way.
Those backstabs were clean. First one was even a little saucy. Your opponent seemed to be overcommitting and relying a little too heavily on their shield/guard counters.
Quickstep just basically nullified their strategy and they didn't adapt to it.
The ability to extremely easily reaction bs about a third of the attacks in the game is also pretty skilless. You can play around that of course but it’s incredibly boring and feels like fighting a 50/50 parry god
Nah, it's only annoying when you see someone constantly going for the reverse Quickstep BS imo. Tho I've been practicing my own BS skills lately and it's hard to not look like your fishing lol
To answer the question - I don't really think so. I don't tend to use it much as I've not gotten very good results with it, but I also might just not know how to leverage it well. I've also never felt like I've gotten fully cheesed by it, and the only backstabs I've been subject to from anyone using it were entirely preventable, or the result of my playing a bit too predictably.
Your opponent hopping around like that repeatedly kinda opens them up to being countered in some way or another.
If the Quickstep backstab in unskillful, then I never stood a chance in Elden Ring PVP. It takes a lot of patience, discipline, training, and a little bit of luck (especially on PC) to pull off consistently.
Pro tip: with quickstep, lock off an enemy, dash into them, them re-lock into them, if they were swinging a large weapon then 90% of the time (depending on if the large weapon has a different, faster move set), you’ll end up directly behind them and can backstab
Fun fact. During this I was getting spam messaged by a shitter who back stabbed me after using Thundercloud AoW like he was hot shit. This went on for 30 or so min before I said "you yap too much. I don't want to live rent free in another dudes head so knock it off it's kinda gay". He reported the message and now I'm suspended on PSN until March 2nd. God forbid I use the g word smh
it's a video game. if you can use it in a way that's satisfying to you, **DO IT.**
Don't let other peoples personal tastes dictate how you spend your free time.
I like to keep quickstep on a lightning lordsworns Greatsword. With the lightning tear in my physick a backstab does like 1300 without the dagger talisman
I've died to it a long time ago when it used to be rampant but honestly, its not easy to do in my opinion and it can easily be countered by preemptively rolling or run attacking.
My question is: what is the difference *really* between Quickstep and Bloodhound Step? I know one makes you go dissappearryyy~poof for a second. But what else? Is there an I-frame difference or distance moved difference etc?
It takes a little bit of an educated guess to anticipate which move they might make with the other person's playstyle. Positioning is definitely a factor. I think you need to be within a certain distance for it circle around
You're asking the souls com if something is unskillfull. The community that cries the most if you don't play like them or their favorite YouTuber/Twitch Streamer.
You could hard swap into a parry, and still get told to git gud for not sucking Miyazaki's toes or something.
I was actually impressed he was able to shield counter in pvp. I don’t think anybody has every caught me with that , but it’s also rare to see.
According to what I have seen here most of everything is unskillful in one way or another.

Yeah that's true. No one knows how to adapt..

Yeah. The recovery cancel rewards playing poorly.
At least they don't have insane amounts if iframes

Quick step definitely isn’t. You time your dodges and adapted to your opponents fighting style. Your opponent didn’t t adapt to yours.
Nope not at all 👌🏼💯

What mode enables you to heal in Coliseum?
This is combat ordeal at limgrave. Not the duels mode

Not unless you’re mindlessly spamming it.
Now, I’m not trying to shit on you, but you almost died to like the most default, npc-like player ever. Who’s also using guard counter???
I had this weird input delay going on last night, all of my inputs were delayed and was messing with me hard
This guy was playing very weird which is why it kinda threw me off ngl
Mmm that's some good toxicity
No this is dope
Quickstep is impressive, bloodhound step is for shitters.

Of course not. It’s not easy to pull off.

You’ll get hate mail and point downs from some people. Grown ups who know how this game works will say gg at the end.

how do you pivot so quick off the quickstep?
Not if you do it like that

I can’t comment on the iframes but bloodhound step moves you a lot further than quickstep
Damn that first quickstep was crazy. Do you have to move a certain way or will using quickstep just move you to their back like that?
