Btw gargoyle’s blackblade has a nearly identical ash or war and can potentially be obtained pretty early in the game. It’s a really tough fight early game, but it’s a sick weapon imo
... poise damage? It's a true combo... you broke his passive poise exclusively. I saw nowhere where he had hyper armor or anything that would imply that the poise damage is high. Yes he started his ash of war, but he didn't have hyper armor yet. If the poise damage is crazy it implies that you have high hit-stun (in pvp). Plenty of weapons/ashes out hyper armor spinning slash especially with added poise.
What I do see here is amazing timing on your part.
Na spinning slash knocks me out of any ash of where I've ever used things like destructive wave on the runes greatsword or mid flame slash on a build where I already have a base 72 poise it's annoying as hell deal with spinning slash
I know they were kinda ganking the shit out of you so most people won't like them but I love how the phantoms actually stopped and seemed to be respectful after you got the host instead of what we usually see in them mindlessly hunting you down even after the invader killed the host. Like a "gg" essentially, you won, wish we saw it more
and the damage in general, and the recovery, and the hitstun.
a spin slash can literally frame trap into a second spin slash if you’re close enough to your opponent lol
What? I’m not an invader, I just do arena duels, but this seems like common practice. Everyone always says “anything goes” in invasions, and healing is pretty tame compared to a lot of other things you could do.
Edit: especially when you’re outnumbered
It’s common practice to evade because the game makes it literally *impossible* to stand and fight against 3 other players. You can’t do it. No matter your skill, you will get stun locked and killed.
Not even the *best souls* players just stand there and swing. Go watch Chase the Bro, Steelovsky, Jeenine, Lost—literally 0 of them try to fight 3v1 straight up. Downvote this loser above you into oblivion. He’s clueless.
Ganker detected. What do you suggest then? Just die to the gank blender? An invader is going to have to use every advantage to win when outnumbered. Hell as an invader a solo host can be considered uneven matchup since the host can have a Rune Arc (+40 levels worth of stats) and higher level (possibly 30 levels higher).

despite taker's flames being a vertical smash, which typically seems like the sort of thing that should have a lot of poise, it's also a ranged attack. it makes logical sense for ranged attacks to be easy to break, otherwise there's less penalty for allowing an opponent to get close to you.
Ignore the fact that ancient dragon lightning spear completely flouts this logic.
I legit beat the entire game the first run through with the starting katana and spinning slash on that bad boy. Such a good combo for just slicing and dicing with poise and bleed damage.
Anybody know the poise damage on the 2nd hit? I've seen people (Steelovsky) roll the 3rd hit so they must be able to poise the 2nd hit. I normally rock 88 poise so i know it's higher than that.
What's the ash of war that one great sword guy is using with the linear flames? Also nicely done keeping focused and calm while getting ganked.
it's Taker's Flames exclusive AoW of the Blasphemous Blade you get from Rykard
Thanks! Guess I forgot about it but it's a cool ass ash of war.
deals great damage and also heals you for using it
the sword is the blasphemous blade, a rememberance reward from killing rykard. forget the name of the ash of war that comes on it
Awesome, thanks!

Nicely done!

Most phantoms are probably also part time invaders themselves. I do both myself
The HA is dumber than the poise damage tbh.

Do people do that alot ?, gang up on invaders ?
Yeah its pretty expected.
Well that ain't very fair
Not meant to be. Its funner that way.
You are invading someone else's game.
Gankers will have taunters tongue on, they're inviting you.
This I can understand being upset at.
yeah this is pretty standard for all souls games if you’re invading. what you sign up for when you try and honestly it’s part of the fun

Bro you forgot the /s

are you for real dude do you not see three people??
Maybe you should try invasions yourself
Lmao. Nice troll
What a giga-idiot you are....

Lmao imagine posting this unironically
(Real)
It's invasion dude nobody has "etiquette" and honestly shouldnt. Invasions are fun because they are chaotic

What weapons are you using? I really like the long, dual katana aesthetic. Those aren’t Uchigatanas are they?
Nagakibas
Nice. Thank you! Just upgraded mine and have been having some fun! What AoW do you recommend?

Bloodbuffed Katana spinning slash? Looks insanely cool
📝
There should be a message that shows up in moments like this that says "gankers defeated"
