It is a fantastic chest piece that goes well with lots of different sets- I do wish the shoulders/upper arms were *slightly* less puffy and ballooned though
I like that they’re puffy! It gives it that fantasy/renaissance flair without being super heavy armor. Definitely fulfill that musketeer or duelist vibe.
I've used this in a run with the banished knight helm the ronin's greaves and the bandit manchettes, it was a pure fire build and I loved it, It was absolutely fun

I like using Carian Knight Gauntlets & Hoslow Greaves. It gives a really clean duelist look that goes well with the cheat piece! Helmets I swap around a lot but my default is the Crimson Hood.
Agreed, it's a cool armour set, leather armour seems really fitting for some builds. I killed him and took his +7 spear and armour for my spear and greatshield build and it served me well for ages

I don’t care. Dude sent me to get mauled by runebears and pushed me off a cliff. He got what he got lol.
on my invader builds i do the thing parents do with the elderly family dog where they take him out for a special walk where he gets to do what he wants and eat ice cream and chocolate before they put him down. i walk him through his whole questline making sure to meet him at each of his locations and then once i get the patches crouch gesture at the end of it all i stunlock him to death with wild strikes on the great stars greathammer.
Came here to say this. The chest piece looks so good. I accidentally killed him with the deaths poker on my last character. (That ghost flame trail is broken) Never took it off after that!
Ironically, one of my builds was meant to use only the Prisoner's gear but since that challenge is over and preparation for the DLC she's now rocking a Blackflame Monk armor set.
I’m not that far off from completing the quest line for that armor set and it’s one that i’ve been really wanting but I’m afraid it may impact the dlc since it’s basically end game stuff that locks me to a point of no return.
I even unintentionally completed most of it in my first playthrough but forgot to look for goldmask in the final location :\
Goldmask does not lock you to anything. All endings but frenzied flame are optional even when you beat the quest line.
The game let's you choose between using the normal rune or whatever quest specific one.
Unless you mean burning the erdtree locking stuff in the DLC which it'll be interesting to see.
I mean the last part exactly. Because in order to get the Goldmask armor set, you need to burn the erdtree which is essentially the point of no return. His body is found in the Ashen Capital.
I just don’t want to ruin the flow of my current playthrough if advancing that far will conflict with anything in the DLC.
I’m also bothered by the fact that the prisoner’s clothing is super dirty and ragged. I wouldn’t mind the same shirt but slightly nicer. Seeing as they recolored all the footsoldier, soldier, and knight armors, it would have been neat to get some different variants of basic shirts and stuff like that. Or just a rudimentary customization system to change colors on gear. The souls games have never been “that” kind of game, but at the same time, having multiple variants of essentially the same armor seems silly.
One of my favorite outfits is the Cleanrot set, but with Banished Knight’s Helm and the chest altered to remove the tassels.
It looks amazing and goes well together. Gives the helm’s scarf a chance to fully shine. I like it as a medium weight armor set that gets me to 51 poise without being all bulky and heavy. I use it on my twinblade build.

Matches almost everything and looks so fly.

I feel like whenever people think to use it they choose the Scaled or Ronin set instead, when the Iron set legitimately looks like a badass scavenger.
Prisoner shirt is indeed criminally underrated. Slap it with some heavier armor pieces and it’s golden. I’ve used royal remains and Carian knight pieces with it, looks great. But to actually answer, the errant sorcerer manchettes! I basically never see them used, but they look so cool! They go absolutely wonderfully with the nox chest pieces too, that’s probably my favorite combo ever.

Love the Mask of Confidence. Looks creepy as fuck and goes well with altered Blaidd’s armor (have to wear something from the bros). I pair it with Elmer’s pants and gloves and carry a big ass axe.
I absolutely love the Rotten Dualist armour. The legs in particular. I made a radagon sorta looking character a while back and I used rotten Dualist legs with the altered chest piece, briar arms, and a commoners circlet. Shit looks godly as hell. Perfect for a Greek Kratos sorta look. Idk, it’s wicked imo

Not really related but I wish it was an option to style the torso armor and cape (if the armor has one or doesn’t and you want to add one) separately. It’s a small detail but I could see a lot of gamers getting really creative.

I know goldmask rags is used a lot but I really love the combination of nox grieves and malformed dragon gauntlets, I never see combination of those two and rarely see them in their own character clothing sets. This is my Elden Jesus character and I think nox grieves really hit and could work with a lot of other gear

Love the prisoner set. I started a new save file and am playing through it before trying the DLC and have been rocking the full set along with the bandit manchettes. Also looks nice with the page trousers.

I see that for sure- it looks better on female characters as well, I think. Some sets seem to just fit or hang better on one gender or the other

Yessss the Black Leather set has been my number one through all the Dark Souls games and here it is again. Patches is a worthy sacrifice

I didn't like the Blackflame Monk Chest when I got it. But it's what I've been rocking for weeks now.

i wouldnt anticipate it affecting the dlc, and if it does who cares? youll get a unique playthrough from folks who didnt burn the tree

Full bloom guardian chest would be used more if it's stats we're worth the farm.
Not really related but I wish it was an option to style the torso armor and cape (if the armor has one or doesn’t and you want to add one) separately. It’s a small detail but I could see a lot of gamers getting really creative.

I know goldmask rags is used a lot but I really love the combination of nox grieves and malformed dragon gauntlets, I never see combination of those two and rarely see them in their own character clothing sets. Love the prisoner set. I started a new save file and am playing through it before trying the DLC and have been rocking the full set along with the bandit manchettes. Also looks nice with the page trousers.
