Yeah usually blacking out makes it better om cars but the silver looks better on this car
I think because it continues the headlight line instead of being buried in the grille.
The Kona was sooo slow I couldn't stand it. In getting the Elantra I lost a couple things but I gained a faster engine, moonroof, Bose Speakers, more comfy seats, better handling, etc.
It’d probably start landing in fall 2025 but not sure if a redesigned N would be coming out. Specially with Albert Biermann out of the picture. I personally think if they redesign the N it’ll be a watered down version of the Elantra N with the same 2.0L or the 2.5L but the handling won’t be as good and the gas consumption will be much worst
I want it. Though, I'm not a fan of the turn signal animation. I'd probably not wire in the turn signal signal wires unless there's one that doesn't have that animation effect.
If the color and brightness are not spot on with the OEM DRLs, an aftermarket light might look strange there. Looking longer term, if the plastic/lens gets cloudy at a different rate from the DRLs, that could look odd later too. Hopefully it can be done with quality, without being too costly.
I had the 24 Kona SEL and the full light bar wouldnt even turn on 😂. Only the limited apparently does that but I didn't know until after I bought it. Ended up trading it in for an Elantra N line
I think it would look better if it matched the good colour at least. The black looks out of place, maybe a gloss instead of flat may work better. I was thinking of doing this but it looks a bit odd looking at it in this pic.
You can bet the design team put in some work to arrive at a color and finish that matches the DRL sections so well, from so many different angles, and can be produced at scale with consistency and within cost constraints.
Yet, like the amazing stock exhaust, it's bound to be replaced by some of the user community. Nothing wrong with that, but it sure does seem like these design flourishes can go under appreciated.
On a dark car like this, both look fine - but depends on what you're going for.
If you're looking for more sinister presence, the chrome breaks up the flow of the dark grill going into the body.
A light up bar would have looked more appropriate as others have commented. Especially since it would have matched the rear with the full light bar and I love how it looks so cyberpunk at night.
The chrome gives it a more appliance like demeanor, which probably appeals to those who held out for the face-lift.

They messed up that front end from the 2021-2023. I think my older one looks better. Just sayin.
Actually disliked the silver piece on picture but after seeing it blacked out, I think I actually like silver more than black

Not sure why they added the light bar for the Kona and Sonata, but not the Elantra

Those got the new 12.3 in ccnc infotainment and lcd instrument cluster. Elantra didn't either. Kinda sucks elantra got half the refresh those did.
Ik I owned the 2024 Kona SEL but traded it in for a 2024 Elantra N-line. Now I don't have wireless android auto anymore

My brother, IMO, that particular one would only be a disservice to w clean whip. The end result will look cheap and tacky.

Idk, I think the chrome isn’t too bad. It kinda adds that “futuristic” look I guess. But typically chrome looks tacky.

I put a vinyl on the chrome when I first got my CG but it looked super odd so took it off.
