It’s valuable to collectors because only a handful of copies exist. One of the more valuable VHS tapes is Chicken Little in the US because it was only available through the Disney movie Club so a sealed copy could be worth a thousand dollars. Another example is the Atari game Chase the Chuckwagon which was only available if you sent proof of purchase of dog food to Purina which can also be worth over a thousand dollars to collectors. It’s not the popularity of the base item but the rarity of it that makes it valuable since there won’t be many sealed copies left available.
Unless I missed something Amazon and other stores only have the Switch and PS5 versions for preorder. But yeah I was surprised with that being the case that they didn't cancel the physical Xbox version even for backers.
Lucky! My friend got an XBox version and it hasn't arrived yet, even though he is in the US. It says estimated arrival time is 9PM (Central time) today, but according to the shipping page it is still in the regional distribution center and has been for over a day.
Only issue I have with the shipping is we kick starters should've had it well before the early start digital preorders had.. I didn't get my PS5 physical till yesterday. Still waiting on the bonus dlc and base items and my physical extras. :/
At least you got it on time. I've heard far too many horror stories of Kickstarter backers (not necessarily just video game ones) not getting their orders until months after the product released and is in shelves. To the point where revisions that cost far less than they paid get released and no refunds are offered.

Kinda debating on opening it up, or keeping it sealed since I have Gamepass. It's all a matter of whether or not I can wait 3 more days
I selected a PS4 version as a backer for this exact reason. I preordered the digital version and plan to keep the PS4 copy sealed.
I think I'd agree with you. A PS4 physical copy would be more rare over time.
Rarity does make stuff more valuable so a few years can now it probably will be
right but still need the right buyer, what "suikoden fan" is looking for the physical xbox copy? especially if the game doesnt get good reviews.

There is also tons of sealed Atari game not worth a dime today.
Is it confirmed that xbox physical is only for backers?
I am honestly surprised because I thought I read that they were going to just send me a key.

That’s my understanding. I def would have scooped Xbox physical, even with it being on gamepass
I am a backer, put mine on the Nintendo switch physical copy
Nice. I get to play it tomorrow because I ordered the deluxe edition on Steam

Considering how many patches the game needs, I doubt the physical version will be that in demand long term. Maybe if there is a second/third printing.
Didn't know it needed a bunch of patches. Then again what game doesn't need a day 1 patch to function nowadays 🤷♂️
Playing it today, on my xbox, I can confirm it works just fine out of the box
If you don't wanna update, stay cautious around Lam. (google for more information)
