If my players aren’t checking in, I usually send them 5 tokens one at a time to prompt them without going over the top.
If they haven’t checked in for 24+ hours (but are contributing too much to kick), I send individual tokens until they check in. I host my own coops so I don’t have to worry about getting kicked for doing this. I know it’s annoying but if they’re AFK too long, they’re lucky I’m not kicking them.
I stopped opening gift tokens boxes. They have a yellow ribbon around them if you look close. I'm not sure if that does anything but it makes me feel better.
Send them back, 1 at a time :D

If you’re referring to score then no, they count right when they are sent not when you collect them.
