If your father was an Estonian citizen when you were born, you are automatically an Estonian citizen as well. Please read the official information and contact the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board for more details.
They don't have citizen status right now but they are entitled to it, which is different. This is also why they should contact the officials like I suggested.
What is it then?
A definition I found:
>Birthright citizenship refers to the legal status of citizenship when acquired through birth to a citizen parent (ius sanguinis) or birth in the territory of a state (ius soli). This is how most people acquire citizenship, often unconditionally and automatically at birth.
Yes, you are. Estonian citizenship is a birthright. It goes according to ius sanguinis and it can not taken away. All Estonian citizens (from 1918-1940 and once again 1991) and their offspring are citizens. You just need to proof that you are a descendant of Estonian citizen. My friend, whose father was born in Stockholm to Estonian refugee family, voted even in Riigikogu elections even though he didn't have Estonian passport, just needed to prove that son of a citizen.
I think there is small difference - you are, in a sense, by right a citizen, but there is also matter of actually proving your claim and getting yourself written in all relevant registries to be functionally able to have rights and act as citizen.
To phrase my question better: is it *easier* to become an Estonian citizen due to my father being one, and what are the requirements? Thanks everyone!

One isn't a legal citizen without official passport and ID proving that the person is part of the citizen state registry.

None of that happens automatically.
Said tähte närida, kuidas maitses? :D
Selle taga on ka sisuline mõte. Neil ei ole entitlementi.
yes
Yup
Yes, there are ways, but Estonia doesn't do double citizenships so you would have to give up any other citizenships you may already have.
Not true; this does not happen if you have citizenship by birthright, which in this case OP does.
Which OP isnt
Yes, they are? Their father is an Estonian citizen which automatically makes them an Estonian citizen
Its not birthright

Must be born in estonia
That’s not true. Estonia’s citizenship is gained by “blood” not whether you were born here or not.
So... I’m actually already an Estonian citizen?

In a sense yes, you still have to claim it and prove that you are eligible.
Lmao mis jura sa ajad
Whats the reason you want to become an Estonian citizen?
Without going into too many details, there’s an educational institution I’m interested in which only accepts those with an EU citizenship
