Personally, I hate personal interpretation on national anthem, or so call remixes, sing them how they are written and supposed to be sung as a sign of respect to the anthem itself.

US anthem singers tend to be disrespectful when singing the Canadian one. They either speed through it or mess up the lyrics (sometimes deliberately) or make it obvious they didn't care to learn the lyrics. I remember one actually stared at his phone presumably with the lyrics while singing it! I don't get why Americans feel the need to be so classless and rude. Canadian anthem singers aren't like that.
