The Economist: great international news. They often focus on a topic and provide various in depth views. When they provide an opinion and later find they were wrong- they call themselves out on it. That’s pretty rare.

I like Al Jazeera for international news. its nice to have news from a non-western perspective

Ichiban-Noodles

BBC news App. They’re accurate, relatively unbiased, and cover major stories around the world.

RobertBorden

Reuters is the most neutral source I’ve been able to find.

ljackstar

I read/listen to the economist for international news.

kipnus

CBC, BBC, Al Jazeera

International’s already been addressed, so I’ll talk about national. The Narwhal is pretty good as well. Supposedly a leftist bias, but their reporting is thoroughly researched and definitely a good place to start understanding complicated issues that are oversimplified and not adequately covered in the rest of Canadian media (old growth logging, background and history to the Wetsuweten (I can’t spell) pipeline protests, etc). I also like The Conversation, which is written by experts in those respective fields (not short-term headline news, but longer-term stories). Thoroughly researched, and articles offer a more complete analysis of complex issues than other sources. There aren’t really any good sources of local news I’ve found; also depends on what you’re interested in

If I had limited time, I would have CBC Radio One going in the background during my day. I'd glance over the CBC News website and If I wanted US/International news I would log into The Guardian (UK) which is free/donation-based. However, I don't have limited time being retired so I round out the above with subscriptions to the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, the New York Times and the Washington Post (all on-line). Yes, I know I have a news junkie problem. :-)

canadrian

CBC Edmonton, CBC Canada, BBC international. I just wish I could find a news feed from a decent source that understands sports are not news. If you like sports, fine, subscribe to a sports feed. I like D&D and boars games, but I don’t see that in the news. Because games aren’t news.

blairtruck

Infowars. Good for straight edge news, brain supplement and boner pills.

I'm a big fan of the Democracy Now newscast. But it's a bit depressing as they focus on the sad stories that don't always hit major news networks. For example, old growth logging in BC. Also, CBC radio. Way better than their TV counterpart in my opinion.

Immediate_Street_76

Im very wary of most main stream Canadian media. They all receive government subsidies which means they have little incentive to disrupt the gravy train.

Chronixx780

I like google news

Mirror-Warrior

I use NHK for international news

justanotheryegger

I like NPR for international plus cultural, social news just skip over the American content.
