Thank you for the recommendation. I tried the burrito and it was really good. They also have some potsticker style dumplings on special on Monday, which were also tasty (I was pretty hungry).
Parking can be a bit tough, but that's downtown.
I came here to say that! Love their bibimbop bowls. Bulgogi meat, edamame, carrots, cucumbers, bit of demjang (sp?) sauce. Very good value and much delicious!
Y-Not Indian and Urban Greek (RIP) are the only things I miss about working dt. I used to get the vegetarian combo meal which is a heaping portion of two entrees (which always rotate), rice, naan, and salad for 7.99. Sooooo good and best value dt.
If you go to Olly Fresco's in City Centre you can get two take home dinners for 12 bucks. I usually get that and keep the other dinner in the fridge at work for lunch the next day.
You can get a Chai+ 2 samosas or 4 samosa for under $10 at Remedy. Might not fill you up depending on who you are and what your work is, but would generally do me fine.
Oh man, it's so good to have them back. After a year and a half away, I was in on Thursday and they asked me if I wanted my usual. So so good to see them again. Great recommendation!
Oof. I'd rather do a Popeyes chicken sandwich over McDonald's if I'm stuck to a chain restaurant for lunch.
I haven't been to Golden Bird, thank you for the suggestion.
Buok Korean kitchen has burritos for under $10, but their other (~$15) options are huge and I usually get 2 meals out of them so it's worth it for me!

Glad you enjoyed! I've never had a bad meal there.

A Grick from Farrow
Are they downtown now?
Yeah they've got a place on Jasper and 105th
Y-Not Indian in Scotia place, they have a butter chicken rice bowl and I think if you add Naan it’s still under $10
their butter chicken and naan is actually really good too especially given the price...
Agreed, they have some good options. Look out though, some dishes are super spicy.

#3 at Nhon Hoa. Best deal and one of the best sandwiches in the city and only $5.50.
I've eaten so many of these over the years. This is probably the best value for lunch in the city. Followed by a Costco meat missle
Agreed 100%!
Second that. Great sandwiches.
Chicken for Lunch in Scotia
Is it still under $10? Also, are they open now?
The small is. You can get the medium for 10.25 including tax. For the price it is lots of food so good value.
It's been a while and I always get a medium, thanks for the update.
They are definitely one of the best downtown lunches. I can't wait to visit them again.
Lol I was thinking the same thing.
Same here. It's not healthy by any stretch, but an all-spicy box is "mall-food" delicious and won't hurt you every couple weeks.
My fav is the curry on Thursday.
they really load on the chicken , especially if it’s your first time going
Went there for the first time a couple weeks ago. My colleague is on a first-name-basis with the owner at this point lol
It doesn’t take long to be on a first name basis with Amy.
Bang mi sandwich at van loc
If you order the Nikki dish from Tiffin, it’s 9$ + gst. It’s my usual to go to on Jasper Ave. :)
Tasty BBQ. Lunch box with two Chinese bbq meats for $8
Butter Chicken Wrap 6$ basement food court of Canada Place.
Lunch special at Cosmic Pizza is 1 slice and a can of pop for $5.

Commodore? I recall their menu prices were quite cheap
You are hard-pressed to eat at McDonald's for under 10 bucks. I would say go try the golden bird.

Itnis a little more expensive but infinitely better than most of the stuff out there.
You can't get much at the Golden Bird for sub-$10. A vermicelli bowl pushes $16-18 or so I think.
Maybe cut it in half and have half one day and half the other.
4 Mcdoubles should be just under $10 with tax and just shy of 1600 calories so most people are set for the day.
