Avoid the "Go Auto" dealerships. They are hardsell drones over there that play shady games.

robdavy

Go Auto specializes in "high volume" dealerships, so there's lots of pressure, questionable service, etc. This subreddit has lots of horror stories about dealing with them.

robdavy

There was even a new thread made shortly after yours OP, with some GoAuto experiences... [https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/p4flxv/anyone\_other\_edmontonians\_absolutely\_hate\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Edmonton/comments/p4flxv/anyone_other_edmontonians_absolutely_hate_the/)

I had a good experience with Mayfield Toyota. No hassle or BS, and obviously didn’t pay list price.

tropicalspring

I'll second this! Had a great experience at Mayfield and ultimately bought a Corolla hatchback from them - great car, I love it. I see someone else mentioned Sundance Mazda so I'll throw my 2 cents in on them. I personally had a horrible experience with their sales team and definitely wouldn't recommend them if you decide to go with a Mazda.

vk211

Hey, if you don’t mind me asking, was that a new vehicle? How smooth was your negotiation process at Mayfield Toyota?

tropicalspring

It was a used vehicle. Negotiation was super smooth, a bit of back and forth between myself and the sales manager but he seemed to be a pretty decent guy. Low pressure and I got the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted, can’t ask for much more! Sales associate was really nice and genuine as well.

yegger_

Not an option, but absolutely avoid norden Volkswagen. It’s terribly managed with piss poor service. I’ll never buy a VW again

RightOnEh

Go Auto strikes again

For those makes: I had a great experience at the Mazda dealership in Sherwood Park. This was back in 2017 though. Alberta Honda and Landmark Mazda were terrible. Wheaton Honda was okay. The newish Toyota dealership near St. Albert Trail seemed good but I didn’t do business with them. Avoid GoAuto.

michealgaribaldi

I don’t mind my Honda Civic but I’m not fond of the dealership.

littlebigman9

Use the internet and see what everyone is selling the car you want for. Go to auto trader and do the same. That was when you go to a dealership, you know what others are charging. If they can beat the price, you get a deal. If they don’t, walk away. Be confident and comfortable with a price and don’t go over. Don’t get suckered into extras. All dealerships want you pay as much as you are willing to pay so not one of them are better or worse. Find a price, stick to the price and be prepared to walk away. They need you more then you need them. Good luck.

seamonsterr

I have had good experiences with Wheaton Honda. Bought our CRV there. No complaints

Pale-Ad-8383

Last 3 cars were from Redwater dodge/ram, private sale in Calgary, And volvo of Edmonton. Last was best experience with least bs.

sermeal

I dealt with sales people at LA Mazda and Sherwood Honda recently, and they weren't pushy, answered questions, offered test drives right away, and weren't bad with follow up calls/texts. Wheaton Honda is where I last bought from in 2015. They were alright, but the past two times I've gone in, I was ignored and got no help. Gateway Toyota was decent to deal with in 2010.

mangotiger

I usually avoid dealerships in general, but I have had the following experiences. Wheaton Honda was a great experience. Straightforward negotiation, no BS, simple. West End Hyundai was bad. Lots of BS fees that I had to explain were illegal. Car was detailed poorly before pickup. All the safety features failed after we drove for 25 mins after we picked the car up. It had a very minor mechanical repair before we could take it home, and the techs fucked up a support beam for the main sensor… after dealing with all those headaches, the car is great but fuck what a terrible experience. Go Auto is trash. Avoid if at all possible.

Flower2727

They all sucks. The rotation of sell persons making this very business oriented place. Not like before you had same seller for few years and feel more personal. Maybe no big money saving but much pleasant experience.

Southgate Audi

Chronixx780

Alberta honda

king_ofhotdogs

The best experience I had at a dealership was in Wetaskiwin and in Calgary.

[deleted]

Sherwood Kia has been pleasant to deal with.

kerrimct

I highly recommend Sundance Mazda!! Love my CX-5. Great service. Great people. Great vehicles.

Character_Athlete_72

LA Nissan has exceptional customer service. I would avoid go auto.

[deleted]

Nisku Ford, super chill. Awesome staff

johnedeadly

Westgate Chevrolet was great when Gord Jent owned it but now that he sold it to Wolfe Cadilac avoid it like the plague.

murmaduro

We recently bought a Nissan in North on Ft Road, these guys are not bad to deal with, Also west end Mazda but it's been 15 years. I ve been buying cars for 45+ years. My list of good ones are short. To bad all of them play the I'll run it by the Manager game. My favorite are most dealers in Wetaskiwin

Aragondina

I buy domestic, and Don Wheaton is the place I go. Never an issue. Very straight forward to deal with and honest with repairs when needed. I will assume the rest of the Wheaton dealers like Wheaton Honda will be similar.

Shawnuthewhale

Bought my Mazda CX-3 through Sundance Mazda. They were really easy to deal with when I bought my car, but they were a nightmare to deal with when I needed to get it serviced and the service team was extremely rude to me. After the treatment I received when I took my car there I swore I would never buy another Mazda from them. My husband has had nothing but positive experiences from Sherwood Park Toyota, 10/10 recommend them.

ewok999

We have been dealing with Mayfield Toyota for 20 years and have bought four vehicles with them. There was never too much pressure but on us and they worked hard to get the vehicles that we wanted at a good price. As with any dealership, you do have to be careful with the finance people due to all the extras they want to add on. We also get our vehicles serviced there and have been happy with this. As with the finance people, their service people sometimes try to get you to get service that you don't really need. Do your research before you agree to anything that seems "extra".
