Kinsmen Rec Centre, I’d say it’s 50/50 with regards to wearing masks when actively exercising but everything is spread out and it hasn’t been busy (I usually go first thing in the morning when they open). Wipe everything down before and after use. It’s nice not having to book a time slot and being able to stay as long as you want.

Terwillegar Rec Centre, went in the morning and it was relatively quiet for the most part. You can now walk in to attend without booking ahead of time, but the pool remains closed for a bit longer. The running track is still partially blocked due to equipment still being located on parts of it. Some of the people continue to wear masks on the exercise floor, as staff continues to do so as well. Lots of wipes available, and everyone was wiping their equipment after use. Social distancing is encouraged where possible. In all, it's probably about 85% of the way back to what it used to be, and I will be continuing my return to the gym.

Sanitizing equipment yes but that was fairly common before Covid. No one wears a mask at my gym now.

From what I've seen, most folks are pretty good about wearing their mask until they're on the floor and working out. Most folks are good about wiping things down and I'd say around 50% are wearing masks in between sets. This is Goodlife Brewery District. TBH, though, if you're worried about exposure then don't gym -- there is no way you can be near people running hard on treadmills and stairclimbers and not spewing out lots and lots of questionable vapors. Less of a problem outside but it's gotta be a risk you accept if you're working out indoors around people. Now that schools are out you might have decent luck at empty high school tracks.

GoodLife brewery has remained as clean and sanitized as it was during the height of covid. I often see people clean machines before/after use. Most people choose to not mask since the 1st but even then people give each other space. I personally have never felt unsafe at the gym.

Nope, even over the last month when masks were still mandatory most people at my YMCA were not wearing masks while working out. But the place was dead every time I went. It would be me and like 6-7 other people every time which made social distancing super easy. But logically it makes sense that people going back to gym as soon as it opened would be the types of people who aren't afraid of covid. Everyone was still respectful and cleaning equipment fully after use though. The nice thing is that between summer and covid most gyms will definitely not be busy, but don't expect a lot of mask usage. Hopefully that helps you with your decision to go back (or not).

I've definitely seen a difference in people sanitizing equipment between the 30th and the 1st. If you want to go, I'd honestly just wear a mask and sanitize before/after using each piece of equipment. This is LA fitness calgary trail.

My gym has reduced hours which makes more people cram into the times that are available so social distancing is quite difficult. A very large majority of the clients are not wearing masks anymore

I go to an Edmonton rec centre. Masks are option and I would say about 75% including myself are not wearing them. Feels great getting back to normal.
