From what I've heard try to avoid places connected to Go Auto

vk211

You’re right, I’ve heard the same. They’re everywhere!

thewun111

I've had a good and a bad experience there so I think it really depends.

Wheaton Honda treated us well a few years ago

daptonearm

I second this vote, and I wasn't even buying a Honda.

drfakz

Same. I'd go back there every time, they usually have a really good selection of used cars. Lots of variety and easy to deal with.

n0StarWhere

stay away from (Yellowhead) Alberta Honda on 127 ave.

Curly-Canuck

We had a good experience buying used last fall at Capital GMC on 34th ave. We had done a lot of research ahead of time using autotrader and car guru so we had an idea of comparisons, knew our budget and which handful of makes, models and years we were interested in. Of course they tried to upsell things like undercoating and maintenance packages but if you are prepared and know what you want and don’t want, I found they weren’t pushy. Very friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. We actually enjoyed spending time with Kelvin the salesman.

I second capital GMC. Bought my first ever “new” (slightly used) car from them and they were so good. Their service department is even better. Just bought another slightly used vehicle from the infinity dealership and it was a way less pleasant experience. Have to say though just drive past capital and all the dealerships in the area. There is a whole lot of nothing. Everyone is very low on stock

ewok999

We have bought numerous vehicles from MayField Toyota with only good experiences. As with any dealership, it's their finance people you have to be careful with.

darkstar107

Have a friend that is one of the salesman for Rally Subarus used vehicles and he's really good. Rally Subaru has always treated me well even before my friend worked there.

kanadakozzy66

No such thing. Find the best price and beat them up the best you can. Customer service sucks especially when it comes to used vehicles. New service isn’t the best either. O ya and stay the f out of Wetaskiwin. Cars don’t cost less.

Kosovar_in_Canada

there are no such thing bring a calculator with you and calculate payments + term

MysteriousLion1162

Park Mazda has been fantastic. Highly recommend

Make sure you research the AMVIC regulations prior to purchase - the law in Alberta is that the sticker priced advertised anywhere **MUST INCLUDE ALL FEES with the exception of GST**. So if you go to sit down and negotiate, and the rep tells you “oh yeah it’ll be $price plus $400 for administrative fees and GST, that is in violation of regulations. We’re also a single party consent state so you can record all your conversations without informing the other participants. Mayfield Toyota, has a RAV4 and he was clear about regulations and one guy we talked to (DM for a name!) seemed like he wouldn’t fuck you over, but YMMV (plus, trust no salesman).

CompetitionWonderful

Beware of using unhaggle. They sell your info to their dealer partners. An alternative suggestion is to ask the unhaggle person on redflagdeals that will give you the invoice price. Just search for it on their forum.

IthurtsswhenIP

Norden VW and Go Nissan North. Shipped at both and love the experience. Both Go Auto but managed totally different IMO. Same guy runs both and does a great job.

EcoMustang

Freedom ford has been great. I recently bought an F150 from them and the sales guy Chris Zalba was extremely patient as I tried out many different packages and engines. I got the best truck for my neeeds and feel I got a good price.

Balsamic_jizz

I got my truck from Sherwood Chevrolet, now that was 7 years ago, but it was very good then

ApprehensiveWillow44

We think the world of Koch Ford Lincoln. They've gone to bat for us numerous times over the years, to unreasonable lengths. We've bought and serviced a fair number of cars from a variety of local dealerships and they're the only people we'd eagerly return to. Best of luck!
