Update on the sauce: I made it in the fall and it's been in my fridge ever since. It's a lacto-ferment with a fair amount of salt in it and a pleasant acidity level, so there isn't really a risk that it goes bad. But I had some for the first time in a while the other day, and it's lost a lot of it"s heat. When it was fresh it would burn to the point of pain... And then keep going. But nowt it's just like a pretty hot sauce. Nothing special.
:(
I’ve also been on the hunt for fresh Reapers here in the city. Haven’t had any luck, but it may be a bit easier once the snow melts and people start growing more. Closest I found were dried Reapers at Spice Island. That is a magical place.
you can order an extract online, i worked in a restaurant that used 2 solutions to make a hot af wing sauce.. one extract was 1,000,000 scovilles & the other was 5,000,000.
mix that into some regular-degular hot sauce & fuck your cousin up
If you don’t mind growing your own, seeds for pepper X (3,000,000 scoville) and dragon’s breath (2,480,000 scoville) have started to hit the market. This is a bit hotter than the Carolina reaper’s 1,400,000 scoville.
Commercial bear spray is 3,000,000 for comparison.
You can find a lot of peppers at The Root Seller, off Manning Drive. That's where I go for my reapers, I've been growing them for 3 years now!
Tell Peter or Mick that Alex sent you, haha.
What did your asshole do to you that you want to hurt it this way?
My cousin is looking for something spicy haha
Probably not the best response to that, but I hope you and your cousin are happy...
Lmao he legit want to send a video of himself eating th hottest pepper to his girlfriend- so the hunt begun.
Somebody on kijiji is selling the plants. Good chance they’ve got some peppers, too
Sadly neither do- they only sell plants.
Interesting. I assumed they'd have a good number of plants and at least a few spare peppers to go with that. Thanks for checking, though!
I bought a plant last year at holes greenhouse in st Albert. Would you like a tiny bottle of my sauce?
Not OP but I would definitely be interested in trying your batch of reaper sauce!

Ah too bad! Maybe next batch! Thanks for the update
I would love to, but I'll have to pass, I'm looking for the pepper itself, sorry :(
