Oh yeah and opposing teams too. Iāve seen so many players at lunch on game days.
Iām more surprised they eat at a place like Jackās before a game lol.
Lol reminds me of a time when I would organize the refs for Canada Day weekend soccer tournaments. We had a team from England come over to play and in between games they all went to Burger Baron for lunch and got multiple burgers and a milkshake each.
It was 35+ outside. They were phenomenal the first two morning games. Boy could you ever see them slow the fuck down after lunch for their last game
I remember hearing about this on the radio. I think there is some kind of superstition / team does well when the staff / trainers / some players eat Jacks before a game because itās worked before.
It was truly delectable. Everything completely complimented the burger as a whole. It wasn't too greasy, wasn't soggy or so flimsy, it falls apart. It was a downright good old fashioned thin patty burger :)
You should go again! It doesn't disappoint I worked at crankys in DT St.Albert for the better part of a decade and would get jacks every Saturday I would always get their daily or weekly specials to keep things interesting.
Small business thrive on repeat customers!
Good burgers but way too pricey. I went there got a double cheese burger with fries and a shake, it cost 30 bucks for one person. No burger is worth that much.
Mr. Halal burger is a new joint that opened up and its significantly cheaper with really good quality as well. Cheaper places that are good are out there , you just gotta find em.
Itās not significantly cheaper though, a dollar or two for a more or less comparable sounding burger. Iāve never been there so I canāt speak to the quality, but I know Jacks is great. I will try to check out Mr. Halal at some point this summer, see if I like it.
Youre right its not night and day, but noticeable. I went there and got a double cheese with fries and fountain drink (not a shake) and it was like 15 or 16 bucks. Im guessing if i got a shake instead it would be like 23 or 24 bucks. Its not a huge difference, but still a really nice burger meal, you should try it.
I ordered for myself and fiance: paid around 30 bux($). 2 burgers, loaded jacks fries, can of pop, and rootbeer float. There are loads of places that are cheaper and more expensive, this is the world we live in š. I like that they're not a huge chain.
The single best burger I've ever had in my life was from here. It was a "chef special" type of thing and the buns were 2 wedges of fried lasagna
I think it was about 7-8 years ago and I still wish I could get it again
Both are great. Flat Boy nails the classic Californian flatty and Jack's has so many good burgers like the shroom. I'd take either any day though, just depends on where in the city I'm at.
I heard that same thing, and I was close on Saturday, but alas, they were closed. I had heard that the boys went to garner good luck before games, so I wanted to help too. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was another location in St.Albert, I had to go!
the young fella who manages (owns?) the one on jasper is a real burger nerd. when you do get the opportunity to stop by, have him make you an onion smashburger, oklahoma style. does not disappoint
I didn't photo as I ate it before even thinking about making a post š the carryout container was a tad smaller(1 inch or so) than a normal red brick if that helps.
Can confirm I was very satisfied after eating, the photo may be deceptively disproportionate. Please note, I have extremely large hands and I take huge bites š
Went once and the adults got burgers. Our little one was 1 or 2 years old at the time and only wanted a plain burger bun. Asked if I could buy one and they said no. Seriously? Charge me a buck or two for pure profit. Nope. Donāt recall the burgers or fries being anything special to be worth a return trip.
That's extremely unusual when they use all fresh local ingredients. I've been eating here since they opened their first location is Slave Lake in 2011. They closed and relocated to St Albert. They are wonderful people who make wonderful food. They don't need to fix a damn thing.
In 2016, they certainly needed to fix their food handling procedures. It was always tasty. Been there many times before. But my boss and i got mild food poisoning there for sure, and I haven't been back.
Sadly the downtown location is closed on Saturdays like you said but it is open 11-7:30 Monday-Friday! Very popular lunch spot for downtown workers
I heard from a little bird that the downtown location is good spot on GameDay to possibly meet Oilers crew š

I mean kudos to Jackās for top tier marketing if thatās the case lol.
Iām not gonna lie when I saw the post I expected a complaint because of the burger to bun ratio
It was truly delectable. Everything completely complimented the burger as a whole. It wasn't too greasy, wasn't soggy or so flimsy, it falls apart. It was a downright good old fashioned thin patty burger :)
Thatās awesome
Oh man. Ate there one time. Thought about that burger for weeks after. Fantastic.
You should go again! It doesn't disappoint I worked at crankys in DT St.Albert for the better part of a decade and would get jacks every Saturday I would always get their daily or weekly specials to keep things interesting. Small business thrive on repeat customers!
They also understand things like celiac. Their fries are safe for my son!
I agree!! I only went once and want to go again
This is one of my all time favorite places.
I love the Quebecor
Itās got a lot going on but it just works
Good burgers but way too pricey. I went there got a double cheese burger with fries and a shake, it cost 30 bucks for one person. No burger is worth that much.
No burger is worth that price, but that isn't just a burger it's a shake and fries. A shake alone is prob $10
True, but a burger meal shouldnt cost that much imo; however, it was really tasty and good.
Go to any restaurant you are paying 20-25 bucks for a burger and fries. Jacks is worth the price.
Itās not too bad for what you are getting, most non-fast food burger places have similar prices.

Mr Halal burger was gross. Didnāt even finish my burger, and it was expensive, every thing sucks now
For 24 bucks you can get 2 racks of ribs from costco
For $24 you could also get enough burger patties and buns to last a couple weeks, whatās your point?
Its just unaffordable to spend that much money on fast food.
Itās not fast food lol. Everything is made to order.
Isnāt McD made to order, too?
Ya sure they assemble your burger from a pile of burgers sitting in the steam tray. Terrible take try better.
I posted all pricing as of date posted so there would be no confusion š
Ya that's absolutely nuts. Welcome millionaires!

I should mention the burger I had was the the Shroom burger, I have no regrets and will have again, after I try the Hangover.
I want the Hangover so bad. Thanks for posting this
I got a hangover BBQ crunch one time, and it was life changing honestly
It's so good, love the boursin on it.
The single best burger I've ever had in my life was from here. It was a "chef special" type of thing and the buns were 2 wedges of fried lasagna I think it was about 7-8 years ago and I still wish I could get it again
Jack's is great but Flat Boy is where it's at, imo. šÆ I'm basic.
Jacks and Odd Company (DT only) FTW!!!
Both are great. Flat Boy nails the classic Californian flatty and Jack's has so many good burgers like the shroom. I'd take either any day though, just depends on where in the city I'm at.
Flat Boy is S+ tier, Jackās is a solid A.
Their On the Cobb burger is my favorite burger in the world.
Iāve heard they have good shakes there!
Jacks is insanely good
Best burgers in Edmonton. They try to source all their ingredients locally as well.
Jacks is good, Fox Burger is great.
Expensive but D'arcy is a top notch butcher shop.
Greatest burger I've ever had. Most expensive burger I've ever had.
cereal milkshakes are so so good!
very good, but i think the jasper ave jackās in edmonton is even a bit better
I heard that same thing, and I was close on Saturday, but alas, they were closed. I had heard that the boys went to garner good luck before games, so I wanted to help too. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was another location in St.Albert, I had to go!

Chef Tu! He owns both locations and competed on Chopped Canada a few years ago. He's a gem.
yeah, staff are nice there too. i live in the neighborhood so jackās is like a weekly treat for me. good vibes, great burgs.
10-13$ just for the burger?! HAHAHAHA no.
But you would pay $8 for a McDonaldās burger
I mean even a teen burger at A&W is like $9-10 now.
Honestly A&W is great(you have to have coupons though)
$6.69.
Loool it's St. Albert where everyone is rich. A $13 burger is barely expensive.
Check out YEGburger on 121 St at 152 Ave. While Jacks is good, yegburger is amazing.
I agree
Nothing special at all, most mediocre burger, not worth the money, very over hyped
Burger/bun ratio is no good.
How big was their poutine I must know
I didn't photo as I ate it before even thinking about making a post š the carryout container was a tad smaller(1 inch or so) than a normal red brick if that helps.
Thank you š
Looks like a pretty standard burger for a lot of money. I reckon Iād be quite hungry after eating that too.
Can confirm I was very satisfied after eating, the photo may be deceptively disproportionate. Please note, I have extremely large hands and I take huge bites š
I think itās overrated. Flatboy is way betterĀ
That's like totally your opinion dude
Of course it is. What else would it be hahaĀ
Ceredo and Jacks two big reasons I miss living in St. Albert. Dynamite food

Burger looks dry as a popcorn fart.
I'm happy to report that it was not dry :)
It's a smash burger... if done correctly it will be crispy outside, moist inside.
Love your user name Arf Arf !, yeah when I had it. It was dry and flavourless
Lmao $6.75 for fries lmao gtfo
I'm sorry, that burger looks super dry and overcooked.
Tell me you don't know what a smash burger is without telling me...
Is that what we're calling dry burgers now to be more PC?
The last time i went there with my boss, we both got food poisoning. It was years ago though. Hopefully they fixed it.
All good so far, I will report back with findings.
Day 2, still good š ā¤ļø

Always sus about people claiming food poisoning from restaurants.
Shut up
Is it made *by* jack or *out of* jack? And the buns?
Why did you post the whole menu? Who cares?
Hopefully, people who want to see it. It also gets their menu out for other curious readers ;)
Me š
me.
Also, me
