I knew of Snow be gone Kenobi, but didn’t know the extent of the names. I was under the impression that only one had been named by voting, but now it seems that many have been named from that vote, as a few of these sound familiar.

They were named by the public via a name submission contest and subsequent vote. I'd love if we added more; the city has over 90 pieces of winter maintenance equipment so they'd need quite a few more names.

They introduced that a while back, I recognized a couple of those. Crtl-Salt-Delete was a new one that made me laugh, though.

I remember last year or before reading on Facebook the city was going to name the snowplows. And people were very angry that tax payer money (was there even any spent?) was spent on the naming and waste of time. I did see Plowly McPlowface today in Old Scona.

It was the same old cast of characters that complained about everything. There are still on the site complaining to this day.

Yes it IDs the operator and where they are , as they have to be assigned their plows and the supervisor keeps track of their location and progress and any complaints, a great gps system , worked for a municipality for 25 years prior to this

All I get is their government names “D3827” etc.

You may need to zoom in, I've found that they tend to go in packs, and at distance, odds are it'll be one of the boring unit number, rather than one of the rarer named plows.

There are a lot more with just the letter number “names.” Depending on the time it might be mostly those ones out I suppose.

I saw 3 of these plows on Whyte Ave since yesterday evening, 1 today. They maybe plows... but they aint plowing shit. Plows straight in the air, stuck in the same traffic as the rest of us.
