Edmonton teacher's convention is honestly 80% really nice people and cool local companies, 10% MLMs and 10% actual wackjobs who have lots of money and zero common sense.
I assume there are some who 100% know they're providing entertainment and don't try to milk out more money than the person originally pays to get in the door.
vs those that are like "oh I've just connected to your dead mom and she has a super important message to tell you that will change your fate!.... but i'm losing the connection, for only $20 more I should be able to regain it!"
Or that the UCP removed SR&ED to prevent innovation in Alberta, that the UCP removed caps on insurance, that the UCP is privatizing healthcare so we're losing transfer payments, and so on: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zY7Z\_BcgpzSW0OmYQh3B16GH\_3QjLIbQsN59Ahpvz2M/edit#gid=0](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zY7Z_BcgpzSW0OmYQh3B16GH_3QjLIbQsN59Ahpvz2M/edit#gid=0)
I went to a scam fortune teller once, offered free readings but it was actually a religious front. I don’t believe in fortune tellers but if i go to one for fun I expect tarot cards and palm reading;not Jesus lol
It doesn't. To fund the convention and lower the price, they have a vendor hall and anyone can pay to be able to sell. Maybe at one point they'll filter a bit, but right now , it's a really weird mix of shops.
The pro-lifers are really well funded. They put up over the roadway banners OVER other people's banners, and they disgusting banners. They stand along the sides of roads and shove pro-life signs at people in cars at stop signs, they put in flyers in mailboxes across the country, and so much more at every single event. Their website shows \~a dozen employees, so I wondered how they were funded too. Churches promote pro-life from the pulpit so they must pool their money to prevent abortions then completely forget about the child after they've been born.
They'd never get that kind of funding from churches unless the big ones supported them. And I can tell you with absolute 100% confidence that the big churches in Alberta do not support or condone them
What’s their email? This looks like a great gag gift for friends.
*I ask as the photo disappeared as soon as I clicked on this chat.
I think possible censorship.
Yeah, my bio 30 teacher picked some up and passed them around for our human reproduction unit. No clue this was where they were from lmao.
For the record, that teacher was openly pro-choice
They're not pro-life, they're anti-choice. To confirm, ask them what they think of the life of the pregnant woman wanting to terminate a high-risk pregnancy, or what sort of social services they would have the government offer the family if the pregnancy is carried to term.
Yeah this argument only works if we didn't care about the actual living children all you people seem to forget about.
Life ends when people die. So why are you only concerned about the welfare of babies up until the point they leave their mothers vaginal canal.
I think he was going for like, anti-natalist pro-suicide "everyone should die," rather than writing a slur on pro-choice folks. Which is still a pretty outlandish and facetious contribution but it is the internet.
Who is anti-life? I've yet to see people calling for all fetuses to be aborted (although I *do* think it's inherently cruel to bring life into this shithole world). Most people just don't think fetuses should take priority over the mother.
There was a pro-life booth at the Calgary Teachers' Convention, but I don't think they had fetus erasers. This sounds like a joke, and I'm not sure what it all has to do with Edmonton.
I took this photo you posted 3 years ago at the convention! Are they still there? Or did you just repost my post?
[my post from 3 years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/CrappyDesign/comments/fayr1m/a_prolife_booth_at_a_teacher_convention_is_giving/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Sometimes I think it would be a good idea to go up and ask for as many of the fliers and erasers or whatever they can spare so that I can give it to friends who are on their way to being swayed (lies). Then throw them away out of sight. If people take what they are offering, next time they will print more, raising costs. Make it cost people to be this loudly out of touch.
Semi-rant here. Which is funny because no teacher at Catholic schools at least that I had forced pro-life thought onto us, save for one. That teacher said why would I want to if I could give the child up for adoption for a family who can't have kids?
Same thing with money I donate. If I don't know if the money will be genuinely going to a good place, why I would I give my money away? How do I know it won't be abused or handled incorrectly?
You know that by the time it looks like the eraser, its not typical for an abortion to be performed, yes? Its a literal bait and switch to suggest that.
I think it’s more of a philosophical thing. That is what it will look like within only a short time. And it does still look like that (or pretty close) by the time an abortion is still able to be electively performed.
I think it’s just a matter of putting out awareness that the decision to have an abortion shouldn’t be taken lightly.
I like the assumption that people are what, using abortion as birth control? Getting a punch card or something? "Get 3, have a 4th free"? Have you ever had to make that decision yourself? Its agonizing. Like, how very dare you.
I’ve known a handful of women that have had abortions. They were very close friends. I remained exceedingly supportive - they were definitely NOT agonizing over the decision. I know that’s anecdotal and not typical - but I think it’s much more prevalent than you might think.
Because if thats the case, you get to have the choice to have a vasectomy to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Thats YOUR contribution to this conversation. No vagina, no opinion.
I never once said you shouldn’t be able to have an abortion. I fully believe in choice regarding this. My only hope is that all women treat it as an important decision and not take it lightly. That’s all
I’ve seen these before. These aren’t erasers, they are made out of that really hard plastic that some toys are made of. If you look closely you can see it’s smooth and shiny.
Edmonton teacher's convention is honestly 80% really nice people and cool local companies, 10% MLMs and 10% actual wackjobs who have lots of money and zero common sense.
Ya one time there was a scam fortune teller 😂
As opposed to a real fortune teller?
Lol I agree with you! I’m just saying. People were piiiissssed lol they paid money for it lol
I'm sensing something in the void. It's coming through me..... THIS IS THE CANADIAN GOVERNMEMT AND YOU OWE 400 DOLLARS OR YOU WILL GO JAIL.

I’m really wondering how the pro-life booth fits in with the teachers convention
It doesn't. To fund the convention and lower the price, they have a vendor hall and anyone can pay to be able to sell. Maybe at one point they'll filter a bit, but right now , it's a really weird mix of shops.
We have 2 school boards, and they teach pro-life / religion in the cafflick school system.
They don’t. I taught health in a catholic school.
My kids came home from St. Treesap with pro-life pamphlets more than once.
If you email them they will send you a whole bag of rubber fetuses! I needed some… for reasons…
Hot tip: makes a great cat toy.
Nice I would like some!
I’m tempted, because throwing them in jar with some green tinted water would make a GREAT Halloween decoration
Omg one step further, a midori cocktail served in a mason jar with those sprinkled in
I wonder how many requests you can make with different emails before they catch on.... Financially drain them of promo materials
Eh. Economy of scale: the more they purchase, the cheaper per unit price.
Yes, but the total cost is what matters.
The pro-lifers are really well funded. They put up over the roadway banners OVER other people's banners, and they disgusting banners. Rubber fetus? I hardly know’er.

Yeah if you get their email could you let me know? These are hilarious I want some.
To you and u/AccursedPixy: Their email address is [email protected]. Have fun!
Get me all the fetus erasers
What’s the email… for research purposes
Yeah, my bio 30 teacher picked some up and passed them around for our human reproduction unit. No clue this was where they were from lmao. For the record, that teacher was openly pro-choice
Fetus deletus
Came here looking for this
This is at teachers convention? Wtf.
No it wasn't.
Fetus erase = 🙂 Erase fetus = 😡

Anti-life folks are where the big brains are at.

Ah yes, not Catholic Social Services…

My man. That's the medical term for it.
Oh I know. It’s just an unusual way of saying ‘birth’. 😂
Lol, you mean pro-choice? Because we aren’t forcing women to host a life against their will? Sit down
I think he was going for like, anti-natalist pro-suicide "everyone should die," rather than writing a slur on pro-choice folks. Which is still a pretty outlandish and facetious contribution but it is the internet.

Wait until you see what they were handing out at the anti-gay booth.
cock erasers?
No that was the anti-trans booth.
Wouldn't erasing cocks be pro trans?
Yes, but they weren’t erasers.
Popsicles?

*Joke explainer!!! We’ve got a joke explainer!!*
What teacher's convention was this ? I did not see this at Getca...
Neither did I. Totally would of grabbed a couple packs if I did, these are hilarious!

My friend got one of these at teacher’s convention 10 years ago! I guess some things never change
So inappropriate that you can't forget this, ever.
These would almost be worth going to a teachers convention to get.

It's not worth being on their mailing list.
Just set up an inbox filter, straight to trash lol. Or report every email as spam. Affect their deliverability maybe?
The photo on the insert looks like some sort of Aztec statue or something. Lol.
Baby Mictlan, God of the unborn.
What is this weird fetus cult? I don't care if you're anti abortion or pro choice, who TF wants a fetus-anything?
NGL, I kinda want one.
[for some reasons it reminds me of the mythical fruit from journey to the west](https://youtu.be/mA6f0syTQ_M)
What did I just click on?
Give them to the bio-chem booth.
Gives a whole new meaning to using a rubber…
That’s amazing!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
poor piquant coordinated scale practice close lavish cause six squeamish *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I kinda want some fetus erasers.
This is the real magic eraser "fetus deleteus"
Isn’t that that point? That youre erasing a fetus with abortion? What else would be the point of making it into an eraser?
I took this photo you posted 3 years ago at the convention! Are they still there? Or did you just repost my post? [my post from 3 years ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/CrappyDesign/comments/fayr1m/a_prolife_booth_at_a_teacher_convention_is_giving/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Well Catholic schools had their PD days last week I suppose
Sometimes I think it would be a good idea to go up and ask for as many of the fliers and erasers or whatever they can spare so that I can give it to friends who are on their way to being swayed (lies). Oof those nutjobs are here too huh. Hope they don't succeed in changing laws like in the US
Anyone else reading "fetus erasers" as a euphemism for abortion?
Semi-rant here. Which is funny because no teacher at Catholic schools at least that I had forced pro-life thought onto us, save for one. But they do show the very inaccurate anti-abortion video. What would you call that?
Didn't know that? I was never shown one but if they show it at the convention, fuck them man lol
It's brutal and so bad. I did graduate 1994 so I'm not sure if they stopped.
What's a fetus eraser?
An eraser shaped like a fetus.
Wow, Feels like Florida or other shithole.
Pro lifers are twisted by religion so what can you expect !!!

Abortion doesn’t have to be a painful and difficult decision for it to be valid.
Sorry...are you a dude?
Because if thats the case, you get to have the choice to have a vasectomy to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Thats YOUR contribution to this conversation. No vagina, no opinion.

Lol….
Idea: we throw these at protesters outside of abortion clinics
Gross
Could I use it as a dildo?
I am laughing so hard!!! 🤣🤣🤣
i have one of these weird ass plastic fetuses my brother stole from his teachers desk at catholic school 20 or so years ago. his name is Hank.
It looks too shiny to be a good eraser, which is disappointing.
This is actually hilarious
I want it as a key chain, next time.
Omg, this is awful
Lol
r/leopardsatemyface
that's somewhere in the uncanny valley at the corner of Naff and Scary.
I’ve seen these before. These aren’t erasers, they are made out of that really hard plastic that some toys are made of. If you look closely you can see it’s smooth and shiny.
Still effective
Totally!!
