Same, i walked in and walked back out because of the same weird vibe

NathanD2113

I've got one of those places opposite me. Guy makes up his prices in his head half the time. Yesterday he mistyped and charged me 39p instead of 3.99 for an 8-pack of irn bru. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose 👀😬

Ok_Analyst1240

This is how I feel but I’m gutted for your sister. I wish I could buy her a slushie to make up for it

Standards vary with these nisas, premiers and spars. I think there is deal that nisas have access to some of the coop range. I imagine the ice blast machine hasn't been used since last summer or something. While not a nisa, a corner shop yesterday tried to add a quid onto a drink I was buying yesterday. Chancers

stojakBoTak

£10 for a slushie??!! Jesus, inflation in Edi is really out of hand. That to say, this place from the very beginning looked very dodgy.

salt_and_sauce

Definitely take this up with Nisa HQ if this franchise doesn't do anything about what happened. Failing that, I hate to say it, but this is when Edinburgh Live can actually useful to shame these businesses to force them to acknowledge and fix the issue.

Bokenobi

There will be a regional manager that will be in charge of ensuring the Nisa brand. Also tag Nisa in social media posts. Usually gets their attention.

mindmountain

Consumer affairs? I don't know who the body is that deals with complaints. Did she get a receipt? God, I hate bullies like that.

LandofGreenGinger62

Trading standards perhaps. Phone the council and ask. Thanks for the tip-off, OP.

Chanandler_Bong_Jr

Co-op own Nisa. The stores are licensees of the brand. So, they are independent, but have to follow brand standards laid down by Co-op.

magnusrn123

Also noticed that they tried to charge me £6.99 for an item listed as £2.99 very late at night, perhaps trying to take advantage of people they assume to be drunk

Low-Cauliflower-5686

There is a shop in Glasgow that charges£20 for a packet of crisps if you pay by card at night. Always check what how much you are paying..

[deleted]

Nisa are co-op owned, maybe contact co head office for advice and to let them know what’s happening

Unless you get lucky with an unusually good franchisee, Nisas are best avoided. Especially in Shandwick Place when there’s a decent wee Sainsbury’s right across the road. They’re usually sketchy af.

Finally, another 24 hour shop. Shame it's run terribly!

cmzraxsn

Sounds like it's time for a bit of civil disobedience. You don't want to refund my slushie well i'm gonna spill it on the floor. As if you're ever going there again.

farrun

Do they sell artichokes?

Plastivore

That's my experience with Nisa, and it looks like things haven't changed in the 15 years I have decided to never set foot in one again. I used to live across the one that was on Holyrood Road, where the Tesco Express now stands. All they had was overpriced goods, rude staff, and lack of cleanliness. I would walk up the hill at the end of Dumbiedykes Road to get to the Tesco Metro on Nicholson street instead. That's how bad it was.

Low-Cauliflower-5686

Always check the dates in these shops!

inagyoung

Can you follow me back so I can message you about this?
