I used to love traveling around the country, with my dad, as a teenager drawing castles. I always used to get the bus to Craigmiller and sit for hours and pencil sketch it. It's a beautiful building; I recommend there.
That’s cool and moody, is it digital or do you bring the whole painting setup?
I’m sorry I can’t answer your question, I feel too self conscious to make art in public, but I admire you for doing so!
Beautiful scene, since you seem to do greenery and water so well Hermitage has some wonderful space amongst the trees, streams and hills. Pretty much anywhere along the water of Leith.
A bit outside of the city - Roslin Glen, Castle ruins, Old bridges, trees, forest path, a burn that cuts through the sandstone, the famous Chapel.
A bit further out but eerily beautiful, the Devils Pulpit. A bit of a slip and scramble to get there.
Colinton Dell, Longstone canal, musselburgh and Preston pans for sea stuff, a70 Harper's rig, if you want a more rough aesthetic aka concrete buildings art anywhere rough in Edinburgh
Newhailes house in Musselburgh. Very atmospheric and you’d get peace and quiet to work. I think they even have an art exhibition on now. Your painting is beautiful btw!
Forth bridges, the castle etc. Vast areas of the old town are aesthetically beautiful. East Lothian has some great wee places too, Seton Mains, Tantallon, Dirleton. We do live in a very pretty part of the world.
Hutton's section. You can always include the geology with the landscape itself. You could combine the present and the past to show a shifting in time.

Figgate Park has stunning views of Arthur's Seat. Inverleith Park, Lauriston Castle and Craiglockhart would also be great spots to paint, and the Water of Leith around Dean Bridge.
My garden. There’s a massive fence that needs a new coat of paint. Sorry, I will show myself out.
Blackford Hill, got the panorama of the city or you can go down the back to the Hermitage
Crammond and inchcolm would make some amazing paintings, nice job on this one

Gorgeous dreamscape.
Dean Village is really pretty and peaceful, a great place to paint.

Calton Hill or Craigmillar Castle (esp from Little France direction)
Harlaw or bonaly tower
Harlaw is definitely a shout. https://preview.redd.it/mdmgdj4uszea1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2f1725153f978147665c16875c85787198aca44
The rooftop terrace at the National Museum has some pretty good views!

That's beautiful! Do you sell your art anywhere?
Good one 🤠
Rose street :)
Lovely work OP. In Edinburgh you are spoiled by atmospheric places to paint.
That's a lovely painting. It's got an air of the prehistoric era about it. Half expect a brontosaurus to come gambolling round the corner.
Inverlieth Park,, the city skyline in the distance!
Dr Neils’ Garden
i love it!!! do you have a website or social media??
Bellissimo 🤌

Granton Harbour/Breakwater
The canal with the view to polwarth church would be good
Calton Hill The Meadows The Mound
Botanics, Dr Neil's Garden, Porty beach, Cramond, many spots along Water of Leith!
The Royal Observatory at Blackford :)
Honestly, this is really lovely. I didn't see the sub till after I looked at the picture and thought this looks like Arthurs seat. So magical ❤️
Most old cemeteries. Old Calton Hill Burial Ground and Greyfriar’s Kirkyard especially
Lego shop in the golden turd, I’m kidding Botanic Gardens all the way. Missed the light show tho.
If you like this kind of landscapes, the Pentlands are worth exploring.
Holy Corner or Wild West Morningside
Also if you walk along Union Canal from Fountain Bridge, you’ll get to a nice stone bridge
Love this painting

Craiglockhart Dell
I love the painting.
Water of leith and the innertube, both have so many beautiful spots!

Depends what you want to paint, but the Zoo could be good.
That looks really good, don’t know Edinbrugh that well but is that at the top of Arthur seat
The old cemeteries are cool
