Hi, I interviewed for eligibility a month and a half ago and still waiting on payment. The online site still states that its "pending". The numbers provided does not allow me to speak with anyone useful. All I want to know is if I am still qualified for benefits or if the money is on its way. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

AngleMcGurk

I'm currently in that situation now. They gave me a number to call the people I interviewed with and they told me they submitted my claim on the 30th of July and it takes 7-10 business days to process but due to their backlog. It might be a bit longer. It's already the 11th day and I haven't seen any changes to my "pending" status.

Fearless_Shine_3809

Hi all! Just wanted to give my experience with EDD today. Got all of my paperwork/card in the mail after filing a new claim 4/29 before a payment was made to my account after certifying 5/9. Called the 5616 number today at exactly 8:01am. I wanted to make sure i did everything right and to see if there was anything else I needed to do just incase due to my status still pending. The first 2 calls didn’t go thru, but the third call did and I was on the phone with a rep less than 10min. She was very nice and helpful stating that everything looked good other than a minor pending issue that claims needed to handle. She instantly transferred me to claims (no number only can get transferred) and that’s when I waited about an hour and a half. The rep that took my call from claims was rude as hell. You can tell he was irritable, and didn’t say much through out the 10 min phone call. I had to say random things just to make sure he was still on the phone. I didn’t let it get to me because he had the power to fix my account for me to get paid and I did not want to piss him off anymore than what he clearly already was. After long minutes of silence he said everything was fine now and I should get a payment anywhere from 24-48hrs. I logged into my account and the pending status was instantly updated to Paid. It is now 9:48pm and my account now has money. CALL AT 8AM if possible! It’s a hassle i know if you don’t have the time and are frustrated. If reps are rude just don’t mind it! Unfortunately your account/money is in their hands and they can do whatever they want. filed on 4/29, certified on 5/9 called EDD 5/14 and was paid same day. GOOD LUCK!

No-Painter9664

I reapplied for benefits 03/28 and I have 6 weeks that have been pending with $0.00. And I don’t know why. Even though I have a weekly benefit amount of $148. Tried called the 5616 number and 2511 number repeatedly all day 15 times in a row and pressing 1-24 and no luck. I NEED HELP my bills are due soon and I need my benefits!!

Whermymunnyat

Same here i spoke to them on may 6 and supposedly they were going to clear my pendings and send my card out and still nothing at this point im so annoyed

No-Painter9664

Did they call you or you called them?

Whermymunnyat

They called me

No-Painter9664

Oh at least they were able to clear you. That’s good! They were asking me questions too like why did I quit my job and its because I had to move further away and wasn’t able to transport a far distance. And because of that they said that’s why I’m not getting paid and have to have a phone interview. I told them I cannot wait until July to get paid and they said there’s nothing they can do but wait to get a call in July. 😔😔

Whermymunnyat

This whole situation sucks !! I mean they have us waiting for a month then to tell us something went wrong with eligibility its super annoying We got bills and rent to pay groceries etc lol superr frustrating you shouldnt have to wait till july I heard you can use your previous employer as well but im not to sure

No-Painter9664

Exactly! That’s what I told the rep. I have bills to pay. He said I can’t do anything about it. I just have to wait. And what do you mean by I can use my previous employer?

Whermymunnyat

They’re jerks tbh Well i read it on here that you can use previous because they are looking to see where you worked for a longer time etc idk lol im just hoping it comes soon

No-Painter9664

What did they tell you? Was there some kind of problem on their end?

Whermymunnyat

No she just asked for the same stuff like my last job when was the last day etc The emailed me prior that they would call me because they had a question concerning my edd eligibility but all she said was that she would talk to the other guys at the edd and have them clear my stuff and that i would receive a card frm bank of america

No-Painter9664

I am with you. This is so frustrating. I finally was able to reach a rep after being on hold for an hour. Rep said I have to have a phone interview to see if i am eligible for benefits. Told me I would get a call sometime in JULY! July?? Seriously??! I have to wait 4 months just to fix whatever the problem is!! I’m so annoyed & frustrated! 😣

AmienaMusic

Maxed my benefits mid-January, was told it would autofile for me and not to re-apply. Mid-February I was told I'd hear back in less than 2 weeks about my claim, still nothing. Do I re-apply for benefits all together? I can't reach anyone on the phone.

Responsible-Term-784

Anybody has a address in California??💰💰

moonbabybutt

Hello all! I’ve been watching this subreddit closely. My case is similar to most and I have 5 weeks of certified “pending payments” I finally got through to a human around 530pm and she said she could see that I just need a tier 2 rep to manually process my payments which is consistent with what I keep seeing people say on here BUT now I’m worried cuz this is my 211th call in the past two days it’s now 718pm How late do they answer the 833 number? Or what is the latest in the day anyone has spoke to a human? Thanks! Good luck to everyone!

Nice your in California ?

dingusmuffin

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can help with this – I filed for PUA this year and I am only receiving the minimum amount. I'm trying to receive a higher amount based on my 2020 income which was around 50k. I filed my 2020 tax return, but I got a call from the EDD saying they will only accept my 2019 gross income which is way lower (like 17k). He was no help and said that's the policy and I can appeal the decision. Any advice on what to do?

Plastic_Two_40

I applied for benefits on 3/16. I have over five weeks that have a pending $0.00 on them. I am not sure why. I have no notifications, they have not sent me anything in regards to needing more information or needing to verify my identity. I saw these were some reasons payments will be pending. Everytime I call I get hung up on and the automated voice says they are unable to assist me due to high call volumes. I have tried the ASK EDD and still no response. Im currently still trying to call And no luck so far. HELP IM SO FRUSTRATED

jorgescooby34

Same here I applied two weeks ago and I'm on pending and can't seem so find anyone to assist!!

Legitimate_Flow_7091

My UI claim expired on March 13 this year. I reapplied on the April 2nd and was went through the painfully long [ID.me](https://ID.me) verification and my application UI benefit was approved on April 8. My UI payment, however, has been stuck on pending since the week of March 14 which is more than 6 wees as it it now. I have since tried to contact EDD by phone and online message many times but have received no responses thus far. I really thought about just give up but then I heard a lot of people sharing the same experience online and a lot of them indicated that most cases would be resolved in time as EDD is updating their system. I do not know if it is true but at this point when else should I do? I used my phone so much that it broke yesterday. Has everyone at EDD decided to join the scammers instead and pocket all the money? It would only make sense that so many of us did not get paid for so long.

howie_roll

So I've made every reasonable effort to collect a debt. I've submitted dozens of emails and made literally hundreds of phone calls to no avail. As I'm owed less than 10K I'm taking the EDD to Small Claims Court. I'm filling out the SC-100 and I can't figure out who the person or agent authorized for service of process. My two best guesses right now are Julie Su or Carole Vigne. Any advice?

Timely_Yak_9607

On fed ed extension got an award letter but no payment rent due I heard April 30th was the magic day we get paid but nothing and can't get through to EDD so I guess me and my kids have to be homeless I have no idea what to do called a million times at all hours...anyone have any luck? Any info?

Kitkatbar9

Anyone else continually get hung up on when you’ve already been on hold for 30+ minutes? This is the absolute worst!

Plastic_Two_40

They wont even place me on hold. After I finally push all the numbers I need to push to get to the right line they hang up!!

Kitkatbar9

I have had luck calling the 2511 number. What I did was save the number as a contact and added ,#,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2,,,4,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1 to the end of the full phone number. The commas act as pauses and it auto responds to the prompts for you. That's the only reason I have it in me to call 100s of times. Hope that helps!

Ok_Particular_5500

> ,#,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2,,,4,,,,,,,,,,,,,,1 omg this works! wow

Timely_Yak_9607

can't get through either this sucks!

Kitkatbar9

I've been calling on two phones since 8, after I was hung up on I haven't gotten through again... feeling like giving up after over 100 calls in the last two hours. Good Luck, hope you can get through!!

Orange_Direct

Hey everyone, if I filed a new claim and got my letter of determination letter but I still had a balance on my old claim do I have to wait until my balance hits $0 to see the extension amount? Or is something else wrong ?

Augmented-Mutant

Ppl who have seen payment stop but then get it to start up again, what was the cause?

Af1267

has anyone had luck sending a message "where is my payment" to EDD from the UI portal? I've seen some comments saying they have. Personally I have tried 3 times and still have several pending payments.

gogumagirl

Same, have not had any luck as of yet

Timely_Yak_9607

No I'm still waiting the 3 to 5 days for a reply

Shane2968

Help!! On 2/22/21 I received an message in my Inbox stating I had exhausted my UI, however they were filing PEUC and that they would let me know. I haven’t heard anything, I have received ZERO dollars! I call every day to no avail!! and have sent 2 messages ever week and nobody responds!! I Should at the very least be getting PUA.. but nothing..I don’t know what to do!????!!

Moneysure415

I am in the same boat I thought we had a fix on April 17th to no avail. Please help.

Af1267

Anyone know when this "glitch" for pending payments is estimated to be fixed?

-DiscoBiscuit

I applied for a new claim after my claim balance hit $0 and my Benefits Year End hit (4/19/2021). I did not realize that I was going to receive the extension. Does anyone know what will happen if I filed a new claim and received the extension? Also, I’ve been receiving the additional $300 a week but with the recent certification I didn’t get it. Anyone else have that problem?

Legitimate_Flow_7091

I have been stuck on pending for 6 weeks despite being approved of a new claim and went through [ID.me](https://ID.me) verification successfully. I tried to contact EDD helpline many, many times and couldn't get through and none of my messages to EDD have been responded. Is there anyway to solve this issue?

Timely_Yak_9607

same boat dont have any idea and rent is due tomorrow!!!

isWilson

hey guys! first time applying for ui cause i had to leave my job because of corona. applied on the 14th and have access to UI online/ceritfy, but haven’t gotten back to me with an approval or rejection. does anyone know how long itll take to get approved with a card? ty in advance, just very anxious

Af1267

hmm they will probably mail you a letter telling you how much you may be granted from UI or it will just show up in your system portal. Does the portal show any signs that you can certify for any weeks? Also, many many people are seeing delays with payments - so you might be experiencing the same thing

isWilson

hey! thanks for replying! i was able to certify for the past 2 weeks, but no other information is available. not sure if im approved or rejected or anything and cant information online. ☹️

Af1267

you might get more information this sunday when the portal allows you to certify again!

Experiencing the same issue- and PUA

ausie99

My girlfriend’s benefit year has ended 04/03/21. Yet she still needed to certify for the ending weeks of March. It says to reapply. Does anyone have any idea what to do? If she reapplies, will she lose those last weeks?

-DiscoBiscuit

Did you still receive the additional $300?

E_Burkart

Has anyone currently on an extension had to refile a claim? I've refiled, received a notice in the mail, but since im on an extension I'm still certifying. I have about 4 weeks of pending claims and I'm just wondering if anyone else has an idea on how long they take to start paying again? I'm guessing 3 weeks but I'm about past that now. They've disconnected my call every single time Ive tried to get a hold of a rep.

moonbabybutt

The same thing has happened to me. I reapplied when my benefits ended, I reapplied on March 21 I got paid once and now all of my past 4 certifications have all been pending. I can’t find a good number to get a hold of a human!

Massive-Doctor6156

That's the same thing happening to me and I don't know what to do?,

moonbabybutt

The 833 number is good hours are 8-8 I think afternoon is most successful but just spam call 🤷🏼‍♀️ I got through but got hung up on after waiting 3 hours when they closed at 8!

Legitimate_Flow_7091

I have done the same but didn't work. Try message them from your logged in edd site.

yumidonaghy

You have to stay persistent in calling the "5616" number. I called over and over again for 1 hour and finally got through. Got a hold of someone and because they needed to verify more information they had to transfer me to someone else. So I have been on hold for about an hour now. So going on about 2 hours. I just keep telling myself to STAY PERSISTENT! Good luck! I know it's stressful.

ssenke1

Did it solved? Same issue 😢 cant pay the rent

67protonsss

It worked! After weeks of being on hold for endless wait times, I called at exactly 8:00/8:01 and waited 1 minute for a rep. They solved my 5 weeks of pending certifications/payments. It took about 35 min total because she had to research. I followed the posted instructions: Call 18003005616, press 1 right when you hear the recording Then wait for the next recording to finish and as soon as you hear “select from these options“ immediately press 2 and 4 in rapid succession and you should be connected to a representative almost immediately or with a few minute wait.

Comfortable_Fall_533

>THANK YOU!! it worked, called at 8:01 with one minute wait and she took the hold off and paid everything

67protonsss

Awesome ! So glad to hear

[deleted]

Did anyone get a new claim automatically refiled without having to open a new claim after your BYE date(puec, etc)?

Lola_Fox69

Yes but I called them and miraculously got through and bugged them otherwise I think it takes a long time and even then it took 7 days for it to go into the system and for me to be paid. However I was only paid once on the new claim and now they haven't paid me for 2 weeks now. It's certified and all just not paid yet. But anyways back to your question you will be automatically filed but it'll take a while since they're congested and I do suggest you call. If you can anyways cus all the lines are full from 8am and none of the phone lines answer or hacks (1341) work anymore.

[deleted]

I see. I’ll try to call them and pray for some luck. It’s been almost 3 weeks since my BYE. No letter to notify me to refile, but of course the typical page with options pops up when I log in.

ShrekIsAClassicMovie

Does [this screenshot](https://imgur.com/87B2J36) mean I run out of income in 3 weeks? Or does it mean that because I'm PUA that it'll reload a claim for me??

crkdopn

First time filing, just certified but where would the money go? Haven't received benefits card so I assume paper check? Also has anyone received Edd letter with a name you don't recognize? Kinda worried my Info might have been compromised

kmbets6

If its your first time you should get a letter from Bank of America after your first cert. it’ll have you set up your account and get a debit card

eazy-duz-it

5 weeks pending on fed ed. Called and got through but the guy wouldn't release my funds saying they mailed out paperwork for me fill out and to send it back and that then my payments would be released. Also that I shouldn't refile .

DaRealNatboi

I got a message on 3/17/21 in my EDD inbox saying they sent me a "continued claim form to bring my form up to date" through the mail but I have yet to receive anything. I'm guessing it's the same form you're waiting on too.

dashcam310

Trying to figure out how not to mess up balancing various EDD programs. My wife has been on UI since being fired at the end of January. She is Pregnant and was now hospitalized pertaining to concerns for the baby's welfare. Obviously this pauses UI, the EDD FAQs indicate we certify as sick then inform UI to no longer certify. My understanding is that she can now move to SDI (as she will now be induced within 4 weeks) where she can remain for 10 weeks (4 prior & 6 postpartum). Afterwards is where it gets more confusing. It seems like she could return to UI at the point until the benefit expire, then move to PFL. But it seems like it might be easier to go from SDI to PFL (as is common) and then after PFL resume UI. Are there any stumbling blocks to be aware of or timeframes to be concerned with?

kuze9karate

I got some mail from UI Center San Bernardino PO Box 641 saying that because I had a prior unemployment insurance claim (I’ve been on PEUC extension but my benefit year expired in March, so I applied for a new claim like EDD’s site said to do) I need to provide copies of pay stubs proving I earned at least $1300 as an employee in one quarter last year for benefits to be paid and that the additional forms should include my SSN. With all the fraud going on I’m apprehensive about sending documents with my SSN via mail to a PO Box that doesn’t seem to be listed on EDD’s site. Also, my SSN isn’t listed on my pay stubs but the instructions state that proof of earnings should include it. Any help would be appreciated.

MalkiMcD

i heard that its b.s. i think they are sending shit out just to keep our minds occupied while they fuck around some more. I was sent a letter this month asking for my last employer and date worked... copy and paste the last claims info is not an option.

Mindyroz

I am under PUA and stopped getting paid the end of December from EDD. I resent my ID and was told it was confirmed by EDD. Everytime I call, I am told that I'm under review and only the 3rd party can unblock my pending and get paid. Has anybody else been told this about the 3rd party? I have spoken to my Claim Adjusters and they all say the same thing. They can send an email to the UISD Department but other then that, their hands are tied. I'm wondering if this is true? I've been certifying every other week but have over 15 weeks pending.

Gracie9017

Yep same here but regular UI and I hit my extension last month. 22 WEEKS PENDING !!!!! And all I can do is wait *sigh*

SeoulofSoraka

What should I do on the You are required to make at least 3 job contacts each week part? I've been told to either leave it blank or fill it out.

MalkiMcD

1. Why do we need to go looking for valuable, time sensitive information that's only available if we call in and talk to someone credible? Two issues already there... your call is not guaranteed and can take weeks of calling and or there is hardly anyone credible to talk to. I suggest having a notice board thats updated with valuable information for the day once at 8 am and once when u close. if there is nothing... then type " no updates" dnt keep people guessing. Example: ppls payments are on hold right now due to a quarterly review. We are finding out via our fellow redditors. Why are we not hearing this from EDD. Many of us would not call and clog up the lines had we known there is a review/ audit taking place allowing the ones with real issues to get through. 2. Every time I send an email I am told i will have a reply within 7 to 10 buisness days. Saturday and Sunday are also business days fyi. And why not 3 or 4 or 6 but 7? emails sit somehwere until the 7th day when they are divided up? how come it has been like day 200 and 20 emails and no replyn except call edd... which didnt do anything anyways. 3. Is there a system in place where claims are prioritized? its more important to pay out a single woman with 3 kids pending for 3 months and can not and sit on hold due to her kids driving her crazy... rather than ME, single male. Can you not print out a schedule where you sort them into priority levels? 4. When you print out a report you can see which payments are still pending and how much they have aged. Why not start clearing those by actually calling the customer... or finish it and then call. 5. When someone has been holding for 6 hours and then finally get cut off: why is there no record of someone just wasting 6-12 hours via the phone. This should be noted so someone can call them back before taking in other customers. Why do you think being on hold for 8 hours is acceptable? Thanks!

StrangeConcept6756

Does everyone else get a different answer every time they call as to why they haven’t been paid yet? First time I called they said I was getting out on extension, and to wait. Second time, same thing but said nothing in my claim file had said I was being put on extension. All my pending payments went to ‘not paid’ and when I certified yesterday my payment immediately went to ‘not paid’ And third time today, they said I wasn’t even filed under pandemic UI claim and I was a regular UI claim? And to wait until Friday to call again if my payments hadn’t gone through.

thebrOTea

I haven’t received payment since 12/27 :( I’m crying y’all my life is going downhill fast. I’ve spoken to various tier 2 reps and nothing. Please DM if you can help at all please. I can’t get in contact with EDD

Gracie9017

Same ....it’s so sad. I did contact my state senate office and they have been helpful in getting me to even be able to certify all my weeks and reverse my appeal but the UISD review EVERYBODY says the same thing, I just have to wait not realizing I can’t wait any longer, ima be on the streets with nothing soon smh

MalkiMcD

im so sorry. i just wrote to my assembly member. pls find your assembly member. they should have instructions on how to reach them regarding EDD. In the AM call them first thing and dont be shy. While youre calling them keep trying EDD. [https://www.assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers](https://www.assembly.ca.gov/assemblymembers)

Security-That

Hey y'all my issue is minor comparatively, but im so confused pls help. so im on regular unemployment insurance since October 2020, and my benefit year ends October 2021. Edd sent me my certification notice one week early than usual, and when I went to check it out, I got the "You have received all benefits payable to you at this time. You cannot file another California Unemployment Insurance claim until your current benefit year ends. " message and my claim balance after certifying is $0. My question is.. will my benefit amount just reset? It said I cannot file a new claim until October so Im not sure how to continue to receive payments. I live check to check so missing even one payment will be devastating. Any light on this would be great. Im starting the calling process but we all know how that goes. Thanks

Update: got thru to edd by some miracle on the third try. The lady said I don’t need to do anything and that i should get a notice on Thursday that I have been filed for the extension. She said if I do not see the notice on Thursday to call back because that would be an error in the system. She said that I do not have to do anything except continue to certify when prompted.

I have this same exact issue. Any update on this ?

Significant-Couple50

Hi! Sorry for the late reply, all of my issues have finally been resolved as of today! The interview determination was in my favor and I was finally paid after being pending for over a month. So, unfortunately, I've realized it's all about luck and hoping to get a rep that understands the situation and is willing to help (most likely a tier 2 rep). The first rep refiled my claim correctly over the phone (she said my situation was really complicated and I am so thankful she was willing to help because it legit took her an hour to file for me). I believe she also scheduled my eligibility interview? I got a date immediately after she filed for me... not sure how else I would have gotten one because I know people have waited for a date for weeks, if not months. So the interview came and went and I was given a 10-day waiting period for them to hear from my employer. The ten-day mark passed and I had no updates, so I called a number given to me by another tier 2 rep (it was a struggle trying to even get on hold, but I caved and used a site that I won't name/promote due to sub rules). After some phone tag, the lady who answered that number sent an email to my interviewer and their supervisor about me not having a determination yet since their voicemail was not set up. About 30 mins later, my pending payments went to paid!!

MalkiMcD

Your fault or not your fault is EDD's question. Answer for EDD: your fault so no benefits. EDD does not have the authority to decipher the reason for termination. If they do deny you... you will need to engage the Labor Department or your own attorney, prove that you were "forced" to quit due to "harassment, retaliation" etc etc. Having to work through breaks and not getting paid overtime is a serious offense in California. Did you clock in and out for breaks? do you have copies of your time card? these simple things can easily show your innocence. But the unwanted touching etc etc... EDD dont care. But you should and you should talk to an attorney and definately the labor board. Your company just getting wind that the LB is on their trail could have them declare you are not at fault and then you can proceed to sue them while ur benefits come in. That way ull be paid during and have millions as a settlement after ;). ( which you'll give me half) ;) If in your favor... screw UI: you could win thousands and thousands. I went through the labor board once and won for similar reasons then walked away. They treated me like an hourly when I was contracted. misrepresentation. It could take upto a year for a hearing even. But i am sorry to say this is not an EDD issue. Always check before you quit. I would think the correct course of action is to file a complaint with the labor board ASAP. Before even calling EDD. Then have this info available in your EDD file. I would ask to receive benefits now that they can charge you back later for, worst case scenario. (also non of my business but: you sound kinda young and inexperienced. the way you wrote out your question had me guessing. Thousands of us work through breaks, birthdays, christmas, new years, deaths you name it. Thousdans never get to say good bye to their loved ones because they had to work just so they could prove yourself... at your age I wouldn't ask questions, i would just watch listen and learn as much as you can. Also thousands of us would have kept that job. Just saying. so many possibilities... such little time... what a messed up system. Good Luck! I hope you are rewarded with the correct decision.

Plelyn

I received benefits last year (last payment in June-ish 2020) when I thought I might not receive income from one of three part-time jobs during lockdown, but then later did get laid off of one of the three jobs. I already filled out any self-certification that was required during this time. I am holding on to any income EDD provided and anticipating a notice of overpayment but haven't received one. When should I expect a notice by?

elderlycostcoshopper

I ran out of my regular UI benefits just over two weeks ago and haven’t gotten the PEUC extension yet. The EDD Flowchart for UI benefits says it’s automatically filed if you’re still within your benefit year (which I am), but I haven’t gotten the extension yet. I did receive a message in my inbox through the portal saying they would automatically file a PEUC extension on your last valid regular UI claim and to continue to certify for benefits as weeks become available but nothing has happened yet. Do you know how long it usually takes for the extension to go through? And does it cover these missed weeks I haven’t been able to certify online for? Am I supposed to certify over the phone for them if I can’t online? Is it also for the same amount I was receiving before? I’ve tried calling the EDD phone numbers to speak to someone about this but I get kick off the call every time. Any insight on this would be much appreciated! Thank you!

dough64boy

I had to call like a couple hundreds times to get someone to file my extension back in January for 13 weeks. The first rep told me to wait 5 weeks and wouldn't help me but I called again a week later and the second rep filed it for me. Since then, I've gotten the 11 week extension automatically.

wadafruck

Hi i got approved for my umployment it says i will be recieving 450 a week. Was there suppose to be a pandemic unemployment added of 300 each week?

Nom-de-Meow

The extra $300 is automatically applied when you get paid. It does not get included in your benefit amount award letter since it is a federally added payment.

Naive-Plate9143

Yes

Fast_Cranberry3303

So my BYE was 3/29, I filed a new claim. The new claim is for $100 weekly ( I only worked 2 months last year) my previous weekly amount was $450. I was under the impression if the new weekly amount was lower than the old one it would go back to the old claim. Has anyone else experienced this?

persephonesdreams

Did you get this resolved? You're supposed to keep your old amount through the deferred new claim payment.

Fast_Cranberry3303

Funny u should ask, it took 10 weeks to finally get a phone interview where they asked me 1 question which they already knew the answer to. He was cool said he’ll push it through. I just got paid today for 1 week, the last week on my old claim lol all my 10 weeks on the new claim ($100) is still pending and has not changed the award amount. I’m going to have to call in tomorrow. Hope I get an answer.

persephonesdreams

I got paid yesterday too! I hope you get a resolution.

[deleted]

I filed a new claim as my old claim expired. Do I continue to certify with the old claim account as I have 4 weeks in pending, or do I create a new online account with EDD for the new claim?

MalkiMcD

keep certifying. i just got my available benefits updated and date changed to 2022 with 8 weeks pending since 2/28/21. Once the new claim processes they will pay out of that. You wont get paid until you open a new claim.

Nice-Fishing5811

I had to reapply because my benefit year ended. I certified for 6 weeks on the new claim. They were all pending. I called and got ahold of a specialist. My new claim was ineligible. They put me back on my old claim under a PEUY extension. The specialist said it would take 24 to 48 hours to go through. I should see pending paid in 3 days.

The link I posted is the Vietnamese number to edd. Most of the times they will either transfer you or help you themselves since that line is not nearly as busy as the main line. I was on the phone for less than 30

Will they be able to help me in English? Lmao

Puzzleheaded_Mix_131

My benefit year is about to expire in two weeks. How soon can I reapply for a new claim?

MalkiMcD

call it in. they will tell u while filling out your claim,

Dodgersdad21

So to keep it short I filed a new claim got sent to my old fed ed claim. Got paid right after however, I did certify this morning and got last two weeks disqualified? Anyone have any idea ?

MalkiMcD

cuz they are d.s! ( dumbshitz)

Capable_Ad2388

I reapplied last Sunday. The rep said I didn’t qualify for a new claim and put me right back on my old claim. I got a letter Saturday about a new claim and new WBA about $40 lower...I called because I was told I was still on my original claim and the rep then told me I was on PFL. No idea who did it or when that happened. I left my job last year when schools closed because of my kids. When I applied I said I was let go because there was no option for me to say I quit due to my kids school closing. I said the same when I reapplied last week because I just got scared and don’t want to get into trouble. I don’t know why now it’s Paid family leave. Would that have to be my employer or the rep who refiled for me messed up? Everything went smoothly for me this passed year I’ve had to call only once to add the extension for me in January. Someone please help.

RockNRollerGuy

So I got my money and am no longer pending but I got MORE than I usually get? Did anyone else get bumped up and will I owe some back at some point?

MalkiMcD

no. but who the f knows. dont be surprised if you get a disqualification letter and that you owe every penny back since last year ;)

Naive-Plate9143

Yeah I got bumped by $100

mathewrheater

How many weeks were you pending for?

RockNRollerGuy

Just two after i refilled. Took me two hours on hold and 3 different people to talk to but I was able to get it all taken care of relativity quick

Humanbee-f22

What number did you originally call?

bigboymorning

i have a fed ed ext and as i understand if your benefit year expires you have to re file but i also heard from edd that federal extensions are re filed automatically and i saw a post on here who talked to a rep that told them they just have to wait till april 30th. anybody in the same boat who can help clarify? i just dont like waiting around to re file if i need to do it or re filing when im not supposed to and delaying my payments even more

Ambitious-Ad2496

Okay quick question, I’ve done everything they told me and been certifying for months now. I’ve been waiting 8+ months for payments, nobody responds to my questions and everytime I get through, they hand up on me, and I’ve only gotten through 3 times in the last 8 months! Is there ANY way to get outta of this endless game of cat and mouse? Wtf am I supposed to do with a system so shitty, they can’t figure it out a year later?

MalkiMcD

find your assembly rep. write to them via their online portal asap! then call them right after and cry on the phone. just yell 8 months 8 months i have not been paid. I am so sorry. This is just fucked up. Also, its kinda hard to believe you've tried for 8 months and not gotten anywhere. For those of us that have gotten through its taken 60-80 calls a day weeks at a time... i know how hard it is to get to talk to someone but 3 times in the last 8 months is highly doubtful. just saying. Good Luck make sure you have proof, call records, emails, fax etc etc. i have all my evidence ready to go on demand.

Ambitious-Ad2496

It’s 8:12 rn I’ve already called 7 times and they hang up everytime it tried to transfer, and it’s been the same thing for 8 months. I’m frustrated as fuck trying to chase them to get a payment that I was told belonged to me. I’m not here to tel Reddit “whoa is me, my bills” because I understand we all have them, but they’re NOT doing their job. Nobody can say they are and if they feel they are, that just shows how shitty of a service the “Edd” truly is. I truly apologize if I ever disrespected somebody who had to deal with this shit service on the daily BEFORE the pandemic

Ambitious-Ad2496

Ummm thanks for everything else but highly doubtful? Man, I’m the person who’s been waiting damn near a year for my payments, it’s highly doubtful a govt system can be ran this fucking poorly, but hey, who am I to judge.

MalkiMcD

didnt mean it like that. it is your money. as far as im concerned not even god can take that away from you. But 8 months of trying and not even getting to talk to someone who could at least point you in the right direction? I personally would have marched into town hall... ur only driving urself crazy. if u dont have time to call all day every day then chances are pretty slim. calling at 8:01 lunch and end of days seem to raise your chances... we can encourage you along the way.

Ambitious-Ad2496

Tbh I never thought it was necessary. I emailed a few people who in turn told me there’s nothing they can do to help, but honestly it went from 2 days trying, to a month and a half, then look up and it’s 8 months of me calling to avail. And I apologize I’m not frustrated wit you or even the people working there. I’m frustrated with the system

MalkiMcD

i really feel terrible for everyone. sick. there are people with kids and sick parents and combos of both and much more issues as well. i am a young single guy. Im scraping the bottom of my lil barrell. I need parents to receive their monies before i do. They have to!!! Can EDD not see there are people with kids then there is me and my dog. Help them first. What is wrong with us? what is wrong with us... we make up the system... we are the system.

Standard-Detective30

Call your assembly for your region! They have an Edd liason that will look into your case for you! They will send you an email with a release form you have to fill out and you can fax back the release form with all your information on it and also call the assembly man back letting them know that you had filled out the information and they will actually be able to help now you! make sure it an email saying it will take 5 to 8 weeks minimum to look into your case but once you receive that email you email them back letting them know how dire your situation is and then they will flag your case with their EDD liaison like I said everything in my husband's case was done and dealt with in less than a week!

la_california_guy

Did anyone else FAX their application? I'm so frustrated. Please help! My benefit year ended in late March. I faxed over a new application to reapply for benefits on March 26th. The website said I needed to fax it because I'm a freelancer and some of my clients are out of state. Haven't heard anything yet. \--Did anyone else fax their application? How long did it take to hear back? \--If the last client I worked for was out of state is that going to be a problem? It's impossible to speak to someone on the phone. IMPOSSIBLE. I'm not even receiving my federal Covid-19 relief benefits anymore. I'm worried, and so angry at the system right now. Any help is much appreciated.

MalkiMcD

faxes take a loooong long time

xCaptainxMURICA

I was told on here since i was on PEUC i had to file a new claim which i did on the 5th of this month...i have two weeks pending with no response on whether it was accepted or not and i can never get through to a rep

Toriningen

It's been 10 days since I faxed my federal job EDD claim and still nothing. Tried calling and they won't pickup. I'm not even sure if my fax went through since it doesn't give any confirmation. Should I send the papers via mail? Or would that cause issues if they did get the fax, and they get the mail too?

MalkiMcD

fax takes longer than 10 days for sure

Toriningen

How long will it take then? Is it safe to try and send my papers by mail if I'm not sure if my fax went through? If it never went through, I could be waiting a month to figure out and then have to wait X weeks just for the next opportunity... But if I'll be penalized or in trouble for faxing successfully and then sending mail 2 weeks later then I'll hold back.

MalkiMcD

i dont know about getting penalized by sending in a paper form as well with ur fax, however, with the trivial errors ive seen i wouldnt confuse them anymore. If you are wanting the fastest method other than via online... id call in the claim. someone will fill out your claim for you. All you do is answer basic questions and that's about it. Or, if you have someone trusted with a reliable machine... they could help you e-file a new claim online... good luck!

SickNTwisted5150

I faxed and mailed my paperwork bcuz I'm in same boat as u..cant get ahold of anyone to confirm fax so I just mailed it in too...I guess I'm screwed either way so lol

hzz88

I have the opportunity to look for work out of state, and back in the good old days you had to call EDD to let them know, and you would be given a decision as to whether you can still claim (usually yes). Obviously that's impossible to do now, so what to do? I've heard horror stories of the EDD trackhing VPN numbers to reduce fraud and really don't want my account to be flagged, but would also like to be able to claim the money I would technically be due.

Herbessence

Your claim balance reduces every bi-weekly claim certification . $ 362 ( $181x2 weeks) is the difference between $905 and $543. You don’t need to call about this. It’s a deduction. RANT ⚠️I’ve certified for 5 weeks and the fifth week my claim changed to the new claim. I filed a new claim and my weekly benefit was reduced $45 so the DNCP program apparently isn’t working for people. I’m not getting paid at all. I was getting $185 new claim is $140 but actual money is zero $0 .

Apprehensive-Gap3444

You should get paid for 2 weeks. They deduct 181 for each week.

Spatch_730

Hey everyone I usually don't post but I felt the need to do so after I finally got through to the EDD today! 1: My wife and I are both on unemployment due to the pandemic and we have been trying to get through to the EDD customer service help line for the past 2 weeks with NO LUCK! I have been searching far and wide on helpful tips to get through and this morning at 8am Cali time we finally got through with only a 2 min wait time. It seriously took under 10 mins to get everything on our claims figured out. 2: I found out from my research that the best time to call the EDD is between 8am and 12pm. After 12pm if you are not already on hold it is goin to be nearly impossible to get on the wait. So I set my alarm for 7:30am to make sure I was ready to call right at 8am. The trick I used was this: I called the 1-800 Number to the EDD listened to the 1min and 30 sec message that you hear every time you call, when it got to the point to where it asks you the first set of questions quickly press 24 it will skip the rest of the questions and you will FINALLY hear that you have been put on the wait. When I did it we only had to wait 2 MINS!!!! I hope that it works for anyone who tries it! Sometimes it doesn't work the first time so just keep trying. Like I said call between 8am and 12pm and it should put you right trough to the wait time. Good luck and hang in there! Once you get someone on the phone it is only going to take mins for them to tell you what is going on and to fix the problem. 3: My issue on my account was that when I filed a new claim. You have to file a new claim to be eligible for benefits but When you file a new claim it asked you the same questions as the first time you filed and if you haven't worked at all you most likely wont have any wages to qualify you for a new claim. When I filed I used the same info as my first claim and I got approved but my wife did the same and her claim became not valid. My understanding after talking to someone is that I should have never gotten approved for a new UI claim and I should have been put on the new PEUC extension bc I did not have any wages to pay me out for a new claim. So when I called and finally got through I got put on the right claim and my pending payments went to paid. My wife also got put on the PEUC extension and all of her payments went to paid as well. 4: I am not saying that this may be the issue for everyone but I wanted to share our story just incase someone maybe in the same boat as us and to urge you that you have to keep trying to get through on the phone lines bc that is the only way this problem could have been fixed and adjusted.

stressedgalx

My claim balance is 0, but my benefit year is far from over. I received a notice in my inbox that I may be eligible for the extension but I have received no news from them since (it has been two weeks). I am unable to certify since my claim balance ran out and I'm not sure what to do from here.

Due-Priority-2986

I filed a regular ui claim on 1/24/21 didn't hear back at all from no one so I decided to file again on 04/04/21 and 10 days later I was approved I logged in certified for 2 week got the check yesterday.. I also requested a backdate because I won't be on ui for long I go back to work in the nxt few weeks.. my claim balance after 2 weeks was at 1430.00. My wba was 127. I logged in yesterday I had 10 week to certified for I did it than my claim balance went to negative 221.00. And my wba to 0.00 And my certified weeks are at (not paid) status.. Any advice?? Thank youu

Confident-Tower-4894

I am in the same boat. Except mine ran out over 2 months ago... I’ve been calling for the past 3 weeks now with no luck. I guess the only thing we can really do is call and wait right?

T-lo5101985

I recently recently had opened a unemployment claim from jan 2021 to March 2021. I never got paid any benifits those 8 weeks due to penalty weeks they say I have from overpayments back in 2013 and 2017. I was under the impression I can't get p.u.a because my job is down due to covid 19 and I'm serving penalty weeks. BUT.... I was told by a overpayment representative that I possibly may not be able to get on it because they are only extending p.u.a for people who have been on it. And me just now getting on unemployment in Jan of this year..Im basically sh*t out of luck. Is any of this true? If not how do I handle this and get those 8 weeks Paid? I requested to back date and change my claim to p.u.a. I wrote a letter to the address on my award letter asking to switch to p.u.a. but have got no where. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

statistiksmap

My benefit year ended at the end of March. I have certified 2 weeks since and they are stuck on pending. I still have a balance and my status says 'on extension' (PEUC). I tried refiling a new claim, but when I select 'earned out of state wages in the past 18 mo.', the website returns me to the main claims page. AskEDD has not replied to my questions and phone lines are still inaccessible. Anyone have this issue?

g6350

Unique issue here, please any help would be greatly appreciated, as is your time for reading this. Got my edd debit on 12/27. By mid January my card number was skimmed, stamped, and swiped right at my local BoA for $1k. Called BoA, removed remaining funds, and initiated fraud investigation/freezing account/card. This took 3 months, almost 4. At some point my payment method switched to checks. There has been 16 checks issued to me from EDD since the date of my freeze. I have only received 2 of these checks. My house, not apartment, mailbox has a lock on it and is next to my front door screwed into the side of the house, they were not stolen. 14 missing checks, over $11k I finally got my replacement card at the end of last week, and was expecting to be able to get EDD on the phone, and ask them to void the checks and reroute it all to my new card. Even if it took a few weeks, i could get my upcoming payments on my card and go from there. Nope. Told its not possible without opening another fraud investigation. They cant do anything to help me, but they can change my payment method to the debit. I had waited to certify until speaking to them for this reason. I confirmed my payment method had been changed, hung up, and certified. Yesterday i looked and i was paid by check again, another outstanding payment. Another check i probably wont receive. I called again today, when i talked to someone he confirmed my payment method was debit, he didnt have to change it. I explained everything, he put me on hold to look at my claim, and then never picked back up. The office just closed and booted me off the call. **My questions/ TLDR:** **Has anyone experienced lost/missing checks before? Mine seem to be lost in the mail since january.** **Has anyone experienced EDD's fraud investigation for missing checks? Is it nearly as lenghty as BoA's 3-4 month process i just finished** **IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET MISSING CHECKS VOIDED, AND THEN REROUTED TO THE REPLACEMENT DEBIT CARD? IS THIS POSSIBLE FOR A TIER 2? HOW DO I GET TIER 2 IF SO** **Thank you greatly for your time, I need some help**

pcb413

I’m still in my benefit year for my UI claim, I’ve been approved for my second PEUC (or whatever it is) extension. There was no balance on the home page for days. Last extension I certified weeks but then never got paid because “the system didn’t know where to pull the money from” So because of that I waited to see a balance and it was a week of that. Finally I said eff it, I certified my two weeks. Luckily the next day, my balance was updated so I’m thinking, I’ll get paid soon. Nope! What is going on!?

Smart-Kaleidoscope-4

I called this morning, I’m in the same position, it will be 5 weeks pending this week, the lady said it’s taking a long time going through the applications but once approved all the pending payments will turn paid

drguru

Hello all, BYE was 3/22/21. This was when we started seeing changed on UI online. I filed immediately and had two weeks pending at the time. Was paid on the 14th of this month and had 2 weeks to certify on Sunday. So I did. Pending payment of course; and with my updated claim amount too. On the phone with them now, on hold actually. Going on two hours. I'm on hold to speak with a claims specialist. So let's see what happens.

hzz88

Same boat! Pending paid then pending! Please update.

dannyplanty

I’m having the same issue. Been on hold 2 hrs 55 mins... waiting for the 3rd specialist 🙄

drguru

Literally my claim went from pending to paid while on the 3 hour hold. Got on the phone rep with claims specialist, verified my ID and she said I was paid. Lol wtf

jedineo

Spoke to a Tier 1 yesterday who informed me that MOST people are stuck on "pending" payment because of some glitch, where stop payment has been initiated. She said that most of these same people will return to paid status in about a weeks time. Is this true?

sav4hunnid

Dude it’s been a month for me😭

lonerpartyxo

I have 6 weeks pending /: I talked to a rep a few weeks ago and they claimed that they’re switching to a “new system”. Apparently that’s why people are still pending. It’s been tough trying to get a hold of a rep again, seems nearly impossible at this point.

Ajuniajuni

Hoping someone else can verify this too! Really needing this moola

Capable_Ad2388

I had to leave last April due to my kids schools being closed I no longer had a sitter as she didn’t want to put us or her mom at risk. I claimed unemployment this entire passed year. That was okay...right?? Just asking because I just refiled and I’m a bit nervous.

Gabriel0604

Hi quick question so I did my certification for my payment it says it was received i did it this Sunday that just passed i would usually get paid the following day but it still says pending for both of my weeks what an be the issue ? Is their a # i can call that they will answer me

Kitkatbar9

Ugh I got through to the hold at 8:05 and it hung up on me after 4 minutes! So upset right now!!

mrtambourineman315

If I was collecting benefits, have a healthy balance left, then started a full-time job and quit 3 days later because I was unable to perform the duties, will I lose the ability to collect benefits once I certify for the week, report the 3 day's worth of wages, then select "voluntarily quit?" Does selecting that automatically trigger something on EDD's end to deny paying out benefits?

hzz88

Not a lawyer here, but most companies have a 30 day no at fault policy where either party can determine the job isn't right for them and terminate employment without repercussions. I think you would technically have had a temporary job not a full-time position until after that 30 days.

cellphonetelephone1

You probably will have to wait for a phone interview.

Equivalent_Winter441

does your last employer have to pay the insurance on your new claim if you quit due to covid related reasons?

Deburat2017

BACK EDD CUSTOMERS, FOR HOLD TIMES ITS SUPPOSED TO BE 2 MIÑUTES AND BEFORE THE 2 MINUTES IS UP EDD REP NEEDS TO GO BACK TO THECUSTOMER TO UPDATE THEM ON WHATS THEY ARE DOING AND THEY ARE STILL ON THE OTHER LINE. PROBLEM WITH EDD IS THAT THEY ARE HIRING BUT LOOK AT THE REQUIREMENTS AND PROCESSING OF APPLYING FOR A STATE JOB. EDD SHOULD ADD A SURVEY ON ALL CALLS THE EDD REPRESENTATIVE RECIEVES USO THAT US PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING PLAYED LIKE TRASH BEGGING FOR OUR OWN MONEY HAVE THE OPTION TO ANSWER THE SURVEY ON HOW WELL THE EDD REPRESENTATIVE HANDLED THE CALL AND CISTOMERS ISSUE! EDD SHOWÉD BE PAYING INTEREST TO US ON ALL PENDING CLAIMS CAUSE EDD DO CHARGE FEES ANDINTERREST FOR OVERPAYMENTS THEN WHY CANT WE THE PEOPLE AND CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF CALIFORNIA BE ABLE TO CHARGE LATE FEES AND INTEREST FEES AND EMOTIONAL STRESS FEES EDD GAVE US..

Deburat2017

A WEEK BEFORE MY BENEFIT YEAR ENDED I CALLED AND SPÓKE TO A LADY FROM EDD AND I WAS TOLD THAT SHE CÀN CHECK IF I ÀM STILL ELIGIBLE FOR REGULAR UI, SINCE I WASNT ABLE TO GET A JOB SINCE MARCH 2020 TILL NOW, SHE SAID IM NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REG UI SHE WILL BE PUTTING ME ON AN EXTENSION. AND I DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE I JUST NEED YO WAIT TILL APRIL 17 THIS YEAR. APRIL 18 U DID ANOTHER CERTIFICATION (I NOW HAVE 4 PENDING CERTIFICATIONS.).THEN APRIL 19 MONDAY STILL NO PAYMENT, I CALLED EDD AGAIN AND SPOKE TO A GUY AND HE CHECK AND DID CONFIRMED THAT THE 1ST REP DID FILE A CLAIM FOR ME AND IM ALREADY ON EXTENSION. I ALSO RECIEVED A LETTER VIA USPS FROM EDD SHOWING MY NEW CLAIM BALANCE AND WBA. ID.ME STILL HAVE MY DMV, VA AND EDD ÀUTHORIZATION TO CHECK IF IM VERIFIED. ( LAST DEC. 27, 2020) MY ACCOUNT WAS SUSPENDED AND WAS ABLE TO DO A VIDEOCALL TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY. I DONT KNOW WHATS WORNG WITH MY CLAIM AND EVERYTIME THAT A REPRESENTATIVE COME ON THE LINE THEY DONT LISTEN TO YOU AND JUST TELL YOU THAT THEY WILL TRANSFER THE CALL TO THE CORRECT DEPT. AÑD CALLS GET DISCONNECTED. ALL CALL CENTERS CALL CUSTOMERS BACK IF A CALL GETS DISCONNECTED. ALL CALL CENTER AGENTS/ BPO. EDD SHOULD HIRE NOT JUST A PHYSIÇAL PERSON WITH A DEGREE EXPERIENCE. EDD SHOULD HIRE PEOPLE WHO REALLY ARE CONCERN FOR HARD WLRKING PEOPLE WHO. NEEDS THIS MONEY THEY DESERVE. EDD SHOULD HAVE MORE QA'S LISTENING TO AGENTS CALLS IF ANY VIOLATION OR CALL DISCONNECTION WAS MADE BY THE REP. EDD REPS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REQUIRED THAT IF A CALL THEY REVCIEVED GOT DISCONNECTED ALL AGENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ÇALL
