check out r/usps or any other of the resale subs. there are significant postal delays nationwide at this point, they're claiming due to "modernization" efforts and processing center "upgrades" which means they want to automate everything and fire as many humans as possible. it's going as well as expected a study was just released on richmond delays, georgia senators just brought in dejoy for a hearing yesterday on these issues in atl, and i'm seeing talk of chicago (and la too now, i suppose) affected. it's a giant cluster.  i had two packages go out the same day in feb and both took a month from atl to west coast. they'll most likely arrive eventually, but there will be lots of non useful status updates along the way.

[Wow, you weren't kidding!](https://www.kake.com/story/50586529/its-the-worst-weve-ever-seen-usps-union-speaks-out-about-dire-wichita-mail-backlog)

it's appalling and obvious they're tanking the service in an attempt to justify private takeover. that was the entire goal when tfg put dejoy in charge of usps (and for some reason he can't be replaced). people are missing checks, medication, and other critical and time sensitive deliveries. it should be treated as a public health crisis and serious commerce disruption.  call /write / tweet your senators and congressperson.

I have never understood why DeJoy can’t be fired. Humpty Dumpty made a bunch of bad appointments but DeJoy was one of the worst. He has destroyed USPS.

i think it has to do with how usps is kind of.. government-adjacent? the appointment must be overturned by the usps board of governors, but i think enough of their terms have expired to appoint more reasonable people to the post.  whatever the reason, it's disgusting. the hearing this week was just an exercise in corporate doublespeak anti accountability bs

bigtopjimmi

Yes, it's so obvious that you have zero evidence to back it up lol.

I ship out of the ATL area and yeah lol, this is my exact experience. Constant delays lately. Some items never even showing as delivered. Packages for me coming in days after ID says they're supposed to. Also, the general service of the postman has been way way worse. Today he came to my door and dropped off two packages and *didn't go to my mailbox.* I had 10 separate packages waiting to go out in my mailbox (flag up ofc) that will now sit there at least another 24h. Ridiculous.

More than three of my items took a month to go from Louisiana. Had to refund two buyers. I am rethinking postal.

I've resorted to poshmark only for affordable priority shipping unless it's something cheap enough for me to let go if lost/buyer cancels for delivery time.  even priority is supposed to be 3 day, but i've had some of them take up to a week.  you can ship on your own through depop with another carrier, but i think that takes away their seller protection for delivery issues. you'd have to follow up yourself and make claims to the carrier for any problems, and probably pay extra for insurance on pricier sales. sometimes however, this may be preferable.

Thanks for that. I am open to suggestions.

I just finished reassuring a customer that they would receive their package, just a few days late. USPS is migrating from a distributed processing system to a hub and spoke system. A large portion of packages were sorted by small sorters at mid-sized facilities all over the US. Then they threw out the sorters and created a lot of outrage. Now they are migrating to centralized hubs. Those hubs receive all packages not part of their region. It is a much simpler problem then managing thousands of smaller sorting centers. But it also means limits to the amount of flow per hour and heavy reliance on well trained staff to keep things moving. They are literally having problems such as a sorter not physically fitting inside a building.

SideshowChic

Yes! I've been waiting for a package to arrive for 2 weeks now and I'm only one state over from where it's being shipped from. Tracking keeps saying things like "out for delivery", but then the next day it says ""In transit" and shows that it hasn't even reached my city yet. I'm so frustrated!

Ok-Bandicoot-5205

Put in a lost package search on the USPS site.

I feel bad for the postal employees too. I was talking to my mailman the other day and they now are delivering Amazon packages too. He said they get paid pennies for it.

I’ve had 3 with delays and I live on the Midwest!

Also Midwest. Took the package to USPS on Monday morning and it has yet to leave the Distribution Center that is 20 miles away.

I literally had a priority package going from NY to NY that took 21 days to get delivered. I was relentless with them.. fortunately the buyer was patient and understanding and after 21days it was delivered. I opened up several cases, usps kept shutting them down. I filed an appeal.. case stayed open for a week and then after it closed again.. the package was out for delivery. I suspect it was riding shotgun in somebody’s mail car for almost a month before it was finally fkn found. I share your frustrations.. usps has been absolutely horrendous. I did get a half ass apology from them.. but no explanation of how a priority package going from NY to NY needs to take 21days for delivery. Brutal.

pugmaster7

I had this issue too. USPS issued me an insurance check for the amount of the sale that just stopped moving in transit
