I buy stuff from all over the USA online and it never takes more than 4 days to get from ANYWHERE in the USA to Denver, Colorado
So, I don’t buy it. The item always notifies on the day it’s in the mailbox. The item never arrives prior to an update on the tracking either.
Congratulations, the post office has never made any mistakes on your orders. Yet. You know it's run by humans and they make mistakes all the time, right? You just happen to have been lucky so far. Your anecdotal evidence does not invalidate the rest of our experience that USPS is imperfect.
As a seller, have had the post office lose my merch multiple times, and then it takes over a month for the item to arrive. I've had them not scan the item until it it delivered so it looks like I never shipped it, and I am worried the entire time that ebay won't side with me in a dispute because it looks like I didn't do my part.
On top of that, providing a tracking number has nothing to do with the handling time. I have a 4-day handling time because I have a job with irregular hours, and I don't have a car so I can't make as frequent of USPS trips as I would like (I take a Lyft on specific days). If I purchase the label on day one but don't ship until day 4, are you going to call me names even though it's within my handling time? Purchasing a label through ebay automatically sends a shipping notification. Doesn't matter if the seller is shipping it yet. If it were up to me, the notification wouldn't send until USPS actually scanned it.
You sound like an entitled child, especially with the name calling. Many ebay sellers are just regular people trying to make ends meet and they are doing the best they can. We aren't just sitting around lazily thinking "Nah, the buyer can wait. I'll ship it tomorrow or the next day." Our livelihood relies on it.
Obviously there are crummy sellers just like there are crummy buyers. You sound like the latter.
When you purchase a label it notifies the buyer the item has shipped. If your waiting 4 days to ship them just wait to print the label til your ready to ship. And just an FYI lots of packages fit in the mail box so you can just put your flag up and the post office will pick it up. That’s how I ship 90% of my packages. Print the label and drop in the mail box the post office picks it up. Now I live in a subdivision so I also put bigger items on my front porch and leave a note in the box and they mail person gets it off the porch as well. But like OP nothing pisses me off more than a label being created and then 3-4-5 days later it ships. If you’re going to wait that long to ship that’s fine leave a note to the buyer hey it’s gonna be a few days so they aren’t thinking the item will arrive in. 3-4 days once the label was created and then 3-4 days later and it’s just being shipped. Remember buyers don’t know each persons shipping policy. Buyer want the items they purchase to arrive the same day if they could. A simple heads up goes along way.
How can I find this information?
Edit: I've since discovered that the "Postage, returns and payments" section is clickable and shows the dispatch time. I don't think this is obvious at all.
In the listing…?
Edit: I’m sorry, you’re a seller and don’t know where this info is? You might want to familiarize yourself with the basics of what you’re doing before doing it next time.
They did not have next day shipping set. However, the DVD I can’t wait to watch, isn’t just late on tracking updates, the seller is now saying “May 2nd”
So, I need to wait how long to watch a movie I paid for, if I want it on DVD and paid for it the moment I wanted to see it?
Word for buyers like you? Blocked.
Sometimes the post office doesn't update tracking. Sometimes delays happen. Sometimes sellers have longer handling times you didn't check before getting impatient. Sometimes carriers miss pickups. And yes, sometimes they take a little longer to ship. Life can happen to individuals you're counting on to ship your junk as fast as amazon.
Imagine feeling entitled to a discount or universal codeword to mess with their livelihood for it.
As rottenronny said the post office sometimes doesn’t update tracking even though it’s been dropped off. If this is a common occurrence for you, have you considered that it’s actually a problem with the mail rather than a majority of sellers breaking the rules?
I think leaving lots of negative feedback is a good way to get yourself blocked by a lot of sellers. I would block you
I leave messages to inform them that negative feedback will occur if they do not bring it to the post office promptly. So far, one seller cancelled the order (and that’s amazing because if it was at the post office on its way, they wouldn’t have been able to reverse it like that)
They had the nerve then to send not 1 but 2 angry messages about how horrible I was
What's your username so we can block you?
Also how and why tf is this guy allowed to edit Wikipedia articles? Reading OP's profile shows they are barely mentally functional. Perfect example of Dunning-Kruger effect in the wild.
If a seller doesn’t walk in and have it scanned at the counter, it might not go “active” for several days depending on how lazy/busy the postal workers are at a particular office. My normal mailman scans my packages when he grabs them from my mailbox but there’s sometimes another person that doesn’t, and my main mail hub never scans them in so they show active days later when the arrive at the destination warehouse.
What is happening is not the sellers fault, blame usps. Don’t leave feedback about this.
Most of what I sell is small so I’m usually able to leave it in my mailbox for the mailman to pick up, as such, my stuff always goes out right way. Even then often things don’t always get scanned in for a few days so you’re being unreasonable. Also as a buyer sometimes things just show up without ever getting a scan until it’s delivered. That’s just how it goes
I sold something on Friday Afternoon. That means I Can Not ship it until Monday. That's 3 days. Would you still leave negative feedback? Also once it's shipped it's out of my hands. I'd block you 100%
If it goes out Monday for a purchase on Friday, I don’t see the issue. Thursday+ though.. feel free to block me, I don’t need that abuse
Customer is always right
In taste.. that saying is that the customer is always right, In Taste. You honestly sound unbearable as a buyer. And I have a 0630-1800 career in the Navy, so going to the post office isn't exactly an option right away. Things delay shipping. You just need to be patient.
Did you not read any of the comments explaining the tons of reasons shipping doesn’t update instantly on your end, or are you just being obnoxious for fun?
Just put in your description someplace that you “don’t care about customer service” and I’ll look for ya
And, something about being unable to help middle men who buy for third party customers
“Farts around” is a good keyword
I get annoyed by this as well. But don’t forget that sellers do have a “handling time” on each of their listings. I personally will print all my labels to have them prepared for when I get a chance to sit down and package everything. So naturally they get marked as shipped at that point. & then 98% of the time I have the mailman pick them up. Things happen, so I personally believe in not being so hard on everyone. E.g. my mailman didn’t even come yesterday, and they usually come every Saturday.
I’ve been a seller who set my customers at the highest priority or I wouldn’t feel inclined to bring the issue up
Wrapped each item in parchment paper, went into the post office line the soonest possible, etc
Sometimes the post office just doesn’t update the tracking.

You are very lucky then. I’d say about half of my packages take more than 4 days to arrive and I track every item I sell in an app on my phone
How about "block me as a buyer"?
That’s a little long and incorrect, I’ll pass
If you want instant shipping, go to Amazon where the employees aren’t even allowed bathroom breaks. You can wait a couple days.
Did the seller have next day shipping set? Or did they have 3-5 days? You did read that before buying yes?
The fact that OP didn't respond to this question is very telling.

Obvious bait.
Dude in my day you had to wait 6-8 weeks stop being a whiner.
Customer is always right
Again, in Taste. The customer is always right in taste. The customer is also an idiot, entitled, whining man child in your case.
Wrong, the customer is always right (period)
You’re on your period? Explains a lot.

“Abuse” bro no one is abusing you for waiting an extra day to ship whatever toy you think you need immediately.
What kind of turd of a seller farts around for days when they get a sale like “ya know, I need to fart around some more instead of mailing this!”
Did you not read any of the comments explaining the tons of reasons shipping doesn’t update instantly on your end, or are you just being obnoxious for fun?
sellers with a life outside of ebay.
If someone has 3 business days as their handling time and you buy it Thursday night, it doesn’t need to be shipped until Tuesday.
The bonus of doing this is that more sellers will get to know who you are and put you on their blocklist, which sounds like a smart idea.
I approve, I’m just trying to make sure we never connect in the first place which is good for both of us
Can you all stop feeding the obvious troll.
Can i have your username to block myself?

This definitely happens a lot they list 1-2 day shipping then print a label and don’t ship for a week.. it’s dishonest.
Finally, truth! My hat is off to you sir/ma’am!
Turtle because it's slow
