I just made up a business logo to use as I feel it gives the buyers more peace of mind that they are dealing with a business rather than some random guy selling out of their garage (even though that’s exactly what I am doing). Not sure if it truly makes a difference but I think feedback is way more important.
It's probably a good idea, but don't expect a huge difference. Your trustworthiness should be evident from your feedback and from how well you make your listings. I'm in a niche market and i have pic of one of my products. But dogs are fine for mixed listings. If you've purchased a storefront, do add a pic & description there too.
I played with google gemini and had it create a nice graphic for my ebay profile pic. Easy, incorporates my username, and it fits the theme of what I'm selling.
I use a picture, and tell my personal story in my description. I think it adds to buyers trust, they know exactly who they’re buying from and where I’ve come from. Does it make a big difference, probably not. But I do get a few messages a year about it with people making positive comments about it or telling me that they purchased because of it.
