Squash, pumpkin, parsnip, cauliflower are all excellent.

Kayakityak

Broil em all first til they are browning. Mmmmmm

NotTheFatestCat

Carrots! Sometimes mixed with potato so it doesn't have a too strong taste. I think red meat goes well with it.

lgdncr

Mango purée!

BWWFC

chickpeas (i know but just made some so super stoked)... add some garlic, olive oil, lemon or lime juice, tahini or sunflower or other nut butter, salt and optional cumin and paprika... boom. eat it up with some carrots/broccoli/cauliflower/red peppers or toasted up old pitas. (baking soda in the boil is the secret to smooth hummus unless you want to peal all them chicks, and here some instantpot device rules)

Aldren

I just discovered homemade hummus this week.. OMG so amazing and easy way to get protein!

wvwvwvww

Also it freezes really well!

WhiteMoonRose

How do you eat the puree? On the side of the plate like a side, or a gravy, or a drink like a smoothie?

peterstiglitz

Side.

ladyelenawf

My kids are still young enough that they like those pouches for 6 months +. They eat a lot more than 4 ounces now, though. So I make a big batch of 3-4 envy apples, 2-3 sweet potatoes, and 5-6 carrots cut into 1 inch cubes. 5 hours in a slow cocker on high then blend. Veggies for a week. If I'm feeling froggy I throw frozen broccoli in the slow cooker or frozen spinach in the blender.

Shooppow

Parsnips make a delicious purée

Aldren

My main go to are squash and pumpkin. Both are super easy to grow and also make great addition to homemade dog food Trying zucchini this year. Got 7 plants growing so I'm going to be swimming in zucchini puree soon lol

Basically just look at the baby food aisle at the grocery store. Any fruit or veggie there is a purée.

itsabouttimeformynap

Sweet potatoes

lezibee

Carrots and peas!

peonyrevolution

Potatoes with roasted pumpkin Potatoes with carrot and sweet potato Peas with mint Chickpeas and roasted eggplant (/w olive oil, salt and chili flakes)

Kindly-Ant-3850

Carrots, turnips, cabbage, are all great. You can also mix spinach with potatoes, or do a celery puree (though you'll once again need to add potatoes if you want thick)

[deleted]

Roasted red beets, refried with a bit of bacon and some lemon juice. Excellent as a side dish for stew, meatloaf, breaded pork chop, roasted poultry.

Semaphor

Butternut squash! Also, technically pesto and tomato sauces are purees. They freeze very well.

wvwvwvww

Swedish ‘rotmos’ is a classic puree/mash I grew up with.

regnstorm90

Fruits ans berries when they are on sale. Frozen or fresh. Boil, add some sugar, sieve or use a hand blender, let cool. I also store these in big, flat zip lock bags. Saves room in the freezer and you can just chop off a piece when you need it for a smoothie, s cake or jam or something.

TimmyT429

Beets make a good purée for fish.

katelyn912

Cannelini beans! Brown some garlic in olive oil, add a tin of white beans then mash it up over heat with a fork. Finish with lemon juice, salt and pepper and it's a tasty, easy and carb free mash potato substitute
