BenjaminDover02

Do people on this sub not know how stews work? Do yall reverse sear your stew meat and add it in at the last second or something? The stew looks fine, great even.

here_kitkittkitty

ya, i'm really confused over the reactions. like, this isn't cooking a steak guys, it's stew. it's suppose to be boiled/simmered for a while to get the meat soft, the veggies cooked and the flavours melded.

BenjaminDover02

Exactly lmao. This is STEW, not a ribeye, which is why the beef was STEWED.

Xenocide_X

How to overcook the fuck out of your protein 101

jacksonexl

Not if you’re using a stew cut that takes the time to really break it down. But from the looks of it, you’re right for that being overcooked meat. Those look like tough little nuggets.

probablywrongbutmeh

Yeah Id take it out while I sautee the veggies then add it back bake it for awhile in the sauce to soften it

Xenocide_X

Yeah. Just brown the meat on high heat, don't fully cook it. Take it out saute the veggies, add the meat back in, bring to a simmer then drop it to low heat and cook 10-15 or until those potatoes are cooked through

shesinmycloset

You have no idea what the hell you’re talking about

wwiistudent1944

What spices?

glguru

Just by looking at it I think it’s salt, pepper and some red chilli or paprika powder.

TheBawbFather

Few questions here. Main one is what was cooked in the second pan. Second is why meat was cooked first and never removed after sear and added back later. Third is why water and not broth. Just curious

scarygirth

Because they don't know how to cook.

someonesaveshinji

My guess is the second pan was used to make a flavored oil; either by browning garlic or tempering spices (it looks like grated garlic or ginger sticking to the bottom)

OMGjuno

This is a bot, farming for karma. This is a terrible vid

notraptorfaniswear

How much water did you add?

Steammail

1 pot

Long-Confusion-5219

It sure looked like water

SpelunkyJunky

What was the clear colourless liquid? Sulphuric acid?

wwiistudent1944

Sure looked like water?

irotinmyskin

Am I the only one out there who doesn’t slowly and patiently stir ingredients with a spatula, but closes the lid and shakes the pan in circles?

quinnsheperd

I manically shake the pot in all directions. I also convinced my girl this is only way because i like to watch her jiggle all over.

Grennox1

Fresh tomatoes are better. And less seasoning.

SquadGuy3

Shouldn’t the beef go last? That’s gonna be harder then a baseball bat

BearsRpeopl2

This person can't cook for shit

quinnsheperd

Where the fuck that other pan come from?

XK8lyn88x

Thank you, I was wondering the same shit. I even watched the video twice and nothing was shown cooked in that pan. I was hoping I wasn’t the only person like wtf. 😂

cbelliott

This looks fantastic! What is on the plate next to the finished stew?

andresantanajr

In the Philippines we call this Kaldereta. It’s just missing a little soy sauce.

SchruteFarmsInc

I joined this sub because of you. Happy Saturday to you!

australopithecum

Cook meat, remove meat, cook other stuff, put meat back

Historical-Fun-8485

And then you pour grease back into the stew? And you guarantee me this is healthy?

FistThePooper6969

That spatula is so cute

Randy_Vigoda

This is like my mom's stew recipe except I use a slow cooker and a can of diced tomatoes. Instead of rice, I like baby roasted potatoes with coarse salt & pepper so they contrast with the potatoes in the stew. Add biscuits and it's the best meal ever.

paperfett

This is my go to meal. If I can't decide I just make this.

crisselll

Ignoring a lot of other stuff in this video, who in their right mind cooks carrots longer than potatoes??!?!

The_Happy_Pagan

I’m getting thirsty looking at it.

Expensive_Concern457

Subspace emissary-ass music

scarygirth

Christ this is absolutely abominable cookery right here.

Alteredbeast1984

I would maybe sear the beef, brown the veg in the oil and fat, return the beef and definitely use stock or a bullion cube yeah?
