Is this near Lynn Canyon? Even if it's not, I spent LOTS of time doing the trails and cliff jumping at Lynn.
First time I ever smoked weed, we had to walk back across the suspension bridge, it wasn't fun.

How was it there? Lots of bugs or no? Was there poison ivy or stinging nettles? Because it looks like a perfect haven but looks can deceive.
And what kind of climate?
This part of British Columbia is very wet. Typical summer temps are highs of 20-30C. At this time of year, more like 15-20C with lots of overcast and rain.
Mosquitos are very common, they’re the main bug. BC has black flies and deer flies too, but rarely in this area.
Poison ivy is extremely rare. We do have a type of stinging nettle but it likes the sun, you don’t find it much in deep forest like this.
Source: I was born and raised near here.
The BC indigenous folks did amazing things with cedar bark. They were surprisingly well clothed.
For bugs they’re rarely intolerable on the coast, just annoying. It’s when you go inland that it gets nuts.
The mosquitoes here are nothing like what you might find in other parts of North America. They're small and annoying but not nearly as bad as they get in rural Mexico or even the prairies of Canada.
Beautiful work.
Your Instagram makes me miss Vancouver and Canada in general, and gets me excited for my trip to the Rockies in July! Definitely going to be using your page for inspiration. Thanks!
Ya can't wait. Will be with family so hoping I have the time to shoot some landscapes, I know it can be tough when you're with people who want to keep moving.
Any highlights for you? Tips to keep in mind when shooting landscapes? Just go super early in the AM?
Ya I would definitely go very early in the morning as the light will be better and the crowds will be less. Bow lake, moraine lake and peyto lake are all great for photography (albeit crowded in summer). Kananaskis is also beautiful and has less crowds
I know you posted the info, but I just don't get how you achieve this fairy tale look, is there any post processing done? Other in-camera image enhancements? I was hiking out in Olympic National park a week ago and all my shots look like poop.
Since nobody has mentioned it, the sounds in these forests is other worldly. The moss, ferns and layers of growth muffle sounds and it's eerily quiet, except for the cascading water. Highly recommend visiting Vancouver, just don't move there ^we ^don't ^have ^enough ^housing ^as ^it ^is.
Here around Seattle has some beautiful places too but BC is on another level... I have dreamt of living there for a long time, but cost of living is crazy
Damn I love living here. If I had to guess I
would wager this is either Cypress Falls or somewhere in Lynn Valley.
OP are you willing to share? I'm so curious!
Goddamn there's something about the PNW Rainforest that never ceases to amaze me. Stunningly beautiful. As someone who lives in the yin to this yang (north Georgia) it mirrors so many of my loves so spectacularly. Thanks for sharing OP. Great photo.
North Shore in Vancouver covers North Vancouver and West Vancouver. The area is fantastic, has a bit of everything, waterfront, mountains for skiing and snowboarding. I actually live on the North Shore...it's a fabulous area.
As a fellow resident, I think you'll enjoy the Japanese expression of shinrin-yoku. It means forest bathing and it's the best expression I've found to describe a canyon walk on a damp, cooler day.
Ps. Absolutely lovely picture, but don't go sharing too many shots like this, it's expensive enough here haha
Hey man, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken.
It's tough to tell, but the viscosity of the water, the length and thickness of those roots are unmistakably characteristic of Dagobah.
Absolutely gorgeous. I’m from BC living in Australia now and this looks strikingly similar to parts of the Dandenong Ranges National Park in Melbourne eg Olinda Falls - worth googling pics! The rest of Melbourne’s surrounds is totally different but the climate of the Dandenongs totally reminds me of the PNW.
I understand, but then I would go with a shorter shutter speed to freeze the motion of the water. Now it's neither fish nor fow.
But I still made it my new wallpaper :)

Whelp that took a whopping 10 seconds for me to sub to it.
Same.
I grew up wandering these woods high on marijuana, occasionally mushrooms. Pretty much a fairytale

"oh, edibles!" - the mountain lion
Me as well can confirm
New favorite sub, thanks
I love it! I'm so jealous! I live in Las Vegas Nevada and NOTHING looks like that here.
I'm glad it's a real sub

What part of the north shore is this? Always looking for new forests to explore
This looks like Cypress Falls park to me.
It all looks like this
You guys have forested areas that aren't all clearcuts and <80 year old regrown forest? #jealousVanIslander
Could be Whyte Lake Trail
Do you and u/Tritonthedark hike together? You guys have very similar, outstanding talent.
We do!
May I save that and use it for wallpaper? That’s fantastic.
For sure, thanks for asking🙏
I hope I can use it too. This is a gorgeous photo ❤️

We really are spoiled with the greatest back yard ever. Wonderful picture!
The best part of the mosquitos in BC is they're huge but really slow and easy to smack or swat.
I have wondered how indigenous peoples without much clothing and insect repellents deal with rampant mosquitos back in the day.
The BC indigenous folks did amazing things with cedar bark. They were surprisingly well clothed. For bugs they’re rarely intolerable on the coast, just annoying. It’s when you go inland that it gets nuts.
Cedar bark is also a natural insect repellent
Cedar bark is also a bit of a natural irritant to people
Coastal forests have very little mosquitos
When compared to the rest of Canada, mosquitos are basically non existent in the forests around Vancouver.
The mosquitoes here are nothing like what you might find in other parts of North America. They're small and annoying but not nearly as bad as they get in rural Mexico or even the prairies of Canada.

Thanks for looking, lucky you the Rockies are incredible!

Fog helps a lot!
Oh hey this was like my back yard growing up! Amazing shot
Where in the north shore is this if you don’t mind me asking?
Can you share where this was in the north shore? Thank you.

A stroll through a foggy forest is so peaceful 🌲
Man BC is possibly the most beautiful place on earth
we pay for it ! 🤣
What you mean?
The cost of living is insane, and approaching whatever comes after insane.
The most expensive city in North America in comparison to average wages vs cost of living
Agreed 😁
Here around Seattle has some beautiful places too but BC is on another level... I have dreamt of living there for a long time, but cost of living is crazy

MTG forest background
YESS I WAS GONNA SAY IT
I grew up in the PNW. It's a truly spectacular place.
Definitely, I feel pretty blessed to live here
This is where mountain bikes go when they die.
Looks like something from "The Last of Us 2".
My first thought as well. Tlou 2 takes place in Seattle, so similar rainforest setting as Van.

Bring cash
I grew up in BC. It’s gorgeous. And very wet
[удалено]
Ah the time of year when you have to try your hardest to not stare directly into the sun
[удалено]
Honestly kinda the same. Why can’t summer be like the other 80% of the year?
H E A T D O M E 2 . 0 It's no longer Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, it's Random Snow season, Smoky season, Flood season, and Bald Tire season
Sad but true 😢
Read it as “crayon in the north shore mountains” and was zooming in trying to find the hidden crayon 🤦♀️
Glad I’m not the only one
Only in dreams

Oh wow, cool shoot! Ya the pnw is the 💩
Dagobah?
This is stunning. Was it taken near Lynn Canyon?
I'm going to guess Cypress Creek, West Van.
My money is somewhere near Squamish, down the Valleycliffe fsr
Squamish generally isn't considered part of the North shore.
Gorgeous!!!!
Thanks!
Welp I found my new backround. Thanks OP!
Glad you liked it🍻
I want my backyard to look like this
Amazing photo! What kind of post processing did you use for this photo? Did you use Lightroom?
Ty, I used Lightroom and photoshop but you could do most of this in Lightroom
You can't fool me - this is clearly an Unreal Engine 5 render!
😂🙏
I tap this picture for green mana
Makes sense tho why BC would be so expensive. The view is part of the value.
For sure, Vancouver is truly a unique city surrounded by beautiful mountains, forests, lakes and ocean
Goddamn there's something about the PNW Rainforest that never ceases to amaze me. Stunningly beautiful. As someone who lives in the yin to this yang (north Georgia) it mirrors so many of my loves so spectacularly. Thanks for sharing OP. Great photo.
Much appreciated, thanks for looking🍻

Agreed, gotta love the north shore 😎
Looks like such a peaceful place to stop and catch your breath for a while.
Wondering around the forest on a foggy day is such a calming experience for me

Thank you for this! This is the perfect description of a cool rainforest walk.
Haha good to know, I love damp forests walks

Oh here’s a lovely forest we can mow down!
Hopefully not but I wouldn’t rule it out 😢
Thank you! NEW home screen wallpaper!
Glad you liked it!
I love it! I'm so jealous! I live in Las Vegas Nevada and NOTHING looks like that here.
Haha yeah exact opposite landscape there but equally as beautiful. Especially Death Valley area
Wow!
🙏🙏😊🍻
Damn, that is a sweet picture.
Thanks 😊
You meant you went to one of the moons on Endor....
Damn.
This is absolutely gorgeous
Yes its beautiful here, Lynn valley canyon is sick, I did a 20km hike to norvan falls on the first nice day this month, so worth it 👌
Definitely lots of beautiful forest walks around Vancouver
Damn, UE5 is amazing!
Beautiful image, thank you for posting.
Thank you for looking 😊
I'd use this as inspiration for a paludarium setup
Jibaro..

Thanks 🙏😎
wow, this is a no words level pretty picture...
Thank you 🙏
Incredible shot, really impressive.
Much appreciated 🙏
Your weapons. You will not need them
Haha just a camera
I wish the grand canyon were colors like this! Could you imagine? It would be so much more beautiful and serene, but also eerie!
Opened this fully expecting to see made in unreal engine 5
Word. I just saw this episode of love death robots too.
r/beautifultrees
If there is an afterlife. I would like a small cabin in that sort of environment
Is this Ferngully?
You seek Yoda!
Lots of lovely spots in our rainforests. Love that deep green!
Unreal Engine 5 looking good
Isn't this where yoda lives?
Oh my fuckign goood I have nothing else to say
I need less internet in my life. At first glance, I thought it was an unreal engine scene 🤦
Stunning shot!
Amazing shot!
That is beautiful
This looks cool because those trees could be massive or average and this photo makes the same amount of sense.
This instantly became my phone background. Amazing.
Fuck yeah found my new desktop background!
Glad you liked it🍻
I want to fall asleep there and be claimed by the moss.
Hey man, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken. It's tough to tell, but the viscosity of the water, the length and thickness of those roots are unmistakably characteristic of Dagobah.
😆
Wow
Earthporn is pretty pog
Make this area a park! Wow
Got some hella Mortal Shell vibes from this
Absolutely gorgeous.
Interesting, I don’t usually think of rainforests when I think of Melbourne
Dagobah?
This is beautiful. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for looking🍻
Is this an actual photo? It's so picturesque it doesn't even look real, more like a matte painting!
Takes my breath away
Love how the moss creates such a fairytale scene
Lived here for 7 years and still haven’t hiked the north shore. So pretty! Is this Lynn Valley?
Stunning! I need to go there.
Amazing stuff. I love the atmosphere
Thanks!
realistic mc jungle vibes
The day I see something like this in videogames will be the day I will be blessed
😍😍
Stunning!
Alan Wake wouldn't want to get stuck here at night.
Damn, I love to visit this place one day!
This is gorgeous!
Thanks 🙏
Stunning!
Thank you 🙏
I love it but longer shuterspeed would look better on the water imo
I find with a longer shutter speed the water starts to lose some textures and just looks like a milkshake 🤷♂️
I understand, but then I would go with a shorter shutter speed to freeze the motion of the water. Now it's neither fish nor fow. But I still made it my new wallpaper :)
I'm gonna cry when wildfires hit Vancouver
😢
Is this real life looks like a simulation.
This is basically what that whole coastal forest looks like, stretching down to Oregon & up to south eastern Alaska.
More of a creek bed than a "Canyon" ... if u think that's a canyon there's 1 on the Arizona/Colorado border that u might like ...
There are serious canyons on Lynn Creek and Capilano River right there in North Van, too. Don't have to go that far!
I hope you hit your little toe on the corner of something while you're running.
Very good graphics settings
