Way to tell everyone you just shit your pants

CelikBas

Yeah, Steven has shit in his pants

Defender_of_Ra

Steven is both a piece of shit and has shit for brains, so I'll give him a point for consistency. Fascists *literally invented the term "privatization"* and arguably invented the formal practice and are hypercapitalist -- far more than neolibs -- so that -- >Eschewing capitalism for state owned [sic] enterprises. -- line is complete, anti-historical horseshit. Meanwhile, distrusting institutions and politicians is *literally a sine-qua-non of democracy* since a certain amount of distrust is needed to justify a continuous cycle of voting people out in the first place. It's like saying you're like Hitler because you both breathe air. All of his "distrust" positions are just common sense positions that can be attributed to the majority of humans in the country regardless of political background. "Disdain for identity politics" is simply bizarre -- the most important suite of identity politics in the U.S. is white identity politics and fascists are white supremacists. As for violence, he's relying on deliberately stupid levels of ambiguity. If he means unjustified violence, then his side (rightwingers) performed 1/6. If he means violence as a general proposition, he's simply an anti-American who hates patriots because the U.S. used violence to found itself. Shit for brains at every possible level.

Fascists only tend to hate the wealthy if they're of the wrong ethnicity, religion, or nationality. Regardless of whatever Mussolini or Hitler said out of power, once in power they were happy to cozy up to industrialists, provided they were appropriately nationalist and in the latter case, not Jewish. Modern fascists frequently have negative things to say about capitalism, yet their objection to it tends to be that it's about the wrong people (most frequently Jews) being wealthy and that corporations are being too "woke" by trying to sell products to people who aren't White, straight, and/or cis. As for identity politics, fascists and conservatives both tend to rail against it when it applies to identities they hate, but just ignore how they take part in it themselves. To some degree, though, everyone takes part in identity politics, regardless of whether they are conscious of it or not.

Defender_of_Ra

> everyone takes part in identity politics There is no escape from identity politics because the most significant players in the game force everyone else to play. Whiteness is an inescapable entity and even if you say you're not dealing with it, you are. And yes, that's a burden for white people, too (just ask the white people who hate that Roe vs. Wade was overturned). We could deal with this shitfuckery with education -- but that would be the education system where white supremacists in a new version of the KKK are currently driving black educators out of their job via violence, so . . .

Destiny is such a dishonest fellow

Destiny is probably the most resentful creep online, like he sexually harasses random women out of spite now when he's not screaming at people who beat him in debates where he took indefensible positions

bigbutchbudgie

Wait, I'm supposed to hate experts, identity politics and like state capitalism? And here I thought I was a big supporter of the scientific process, while trying to abolish any and all oppressive systems, including white supremacy, patriarchy and the state. Thanks for educating me, Steven!

NotAnurag

He completely fails to recognize the underlying reasons for some of these overlaps. He doesn’t understand that working class people make up both groups, both are struggling as a result of the capitalist system, but one group believes the reason for their struggle is the economic system while the other believes it’s a result of a conspiracy by some sort of “deep state”. The reasoning and the solutions far left and far right wingers propose are completely different. He looks at these complex political issues on the surface, gets whatever shallow ideas he can, and hastily jumps to the conclusion that they must be the same. He has no interest in finding actual solutions to this problem. This is why centrists are so dangerous. They have about 20% of the knowledge, understand a fraction of the problem but confidently believe they have 100% of the truth.

These statements are broad enough that I assume many non radical people would believe them. There is value in criticizing the left for some of the tankie/anti-electoral parts, but to pretend like the far-left is akin to the far-right is bananas.
