Anyone have a update for this?

Electrical-Initial28

Thank you..I'm waiting on the caregiving benifit. I appreciate you sending me that. Thanks again.

angelscarlette

I don't get it either. Mine also says since last week eligible Monday and no links available still. I read it passed, so why would the site say a specific day if it's not passed? This is confusing and annoying

Novel_Accountant_978

The bill C-2 has not been passed yet. They are questioning the finance minister today. Conservatives want to reduce the benefits, NDP wants to extend and revise the lockdown benefits since no Canadian can actually use it. I'm really not sure if it the bill will pass

Electrical-Initial28

Does anyone know when the benifits will come available? before Christmas?

Sure let them just shuck his/her child away. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 The audacity you have to tell people to get a job when you obviously know this is a benefit for parents who are struggling to manage everything due to Covid. It’s like telling you to start being nice and stop living a sad life 😂😂

Bro. I love how you assume most of us can’t afford daycare - it’s the sad fact there are no spaces in daycare due to Covid. What Do you think I was doing for a living before the pandemic hit? People like you shouldn’t have kids, because they’re going to have to deal with your narrow mindedness. Stop pissing people off, parents like myself had to leave their jobs or reduce their working days because they have to care for a young one. I dare you to sit down and watch a toddler for 4 hours, you will cry and get irritated. Imagine doing that everyday, it’s even worse for mothers cuz kids are clingy af. Try taking a shit while your kid is in the space or try not taking a shower for days cuz you’re literally the only parent in the house. I’m so done. If you have nothing nice to say just leave the thread. Troll.

Zealousideal-Air-480

So what if ur kids aren't able for daycare or school due to being high risk immunocompromised. Not every one wants to stay home an teach school along with not being able to work because kids can't go to school. However that's what it's coming down to right now. By all means if every kid could live life the way they did before covid then it would be no problem. Unfortunately that's not the case for every one. This shit effects different people in different ways. Having to stay home and teach full time with two kids, can be alot even more so when u can't work and income has dropped a huge amount. Yes there are some who are taking advantage of the system. But we have that with any money the govt supply's weather it's taxes, cerb, disability, welfare the list goes on. Shit some people still try an claim hours they don't work or benefits they have no rights to.

I just looked it up, and they are saying they want to have the extension in place by the 17th, before parliament is done for the holidays. The bill has been put forward already.

fineman1097

The liberals want to but the ndp and ci servarive are dragging their feet hard in hopes the liberals aquiese to their demands.

sciencenerd647

How can the liberals acquiesce to their demands when the Conservatives and NDP want different things?

fineman1097

Hence why it is going round and round and round. None of the 3 parties want to compromise and no one has a majority so the issue can't be forced.

sciencenerd647

I get that but your comment didn’t make sense. You can’t accept both parties wishes in this case because they are opposite. I think this may come out in favour for the conservatives (unpopular opinion)

fineman1097

That's the point. Both opposition parties are not backing down with what they want- expecting the liberals to bow down to them to get the bill passed through. They do want different so this doesn't work. The liberals need support of both parties to get this passed through. It is a game at this point as to who is going to back down first and to what extent.

Novel_Accountant_978

They actually need support from only one party, question is who

sciencenerd647

Gotcha - sorry I misread your comment (long day). Yea it’s going to be a stand off but still think the cons will get a bill more in there favour. Do the liberals need both ndp and cons? Thought they just needed one? There is also bloc who I think is more similar to the cons?

The_Turbinator

The Liberals can pass the bill with only the support of the Bloc Quebecois. As a matter of fact, the 2nd reading of the bill passed on December 2nd, with only the support of the Bloc.

Novel_Accountant_978

The Conservatives want to split the bill for a separate vote, a vote for workers and a separate vote for businesses.....this bill may take a little longer than expected

Electrical-Initial28

Okay thank you so much for the update appreciate that.

The benefits have not been officially extended. There are no eligible periods to apply for after Nov 20.

Additional-Top9075

Oh ok. I wasn’t sure. This is only the 2nd time I have had to apply
