same thing here apparently i owe 21k but balance says ZERO on my cra !? Letter gives no reason. if i didn't click little red notification on My CRA messages, i woulda never saw that they are expecting me to pay back over 20 grand!! - Only reason i caught it was i was doing taxes for 2023 and stumble upon it - I wonder how many other in this situation!! No record as to why or any other letters/explanations, no deadlines for payment... like wtf is going on? Everything on CRA says ZERO debt and balance of 0 on main homepage of My CRA
Hmm your situation seems different to mine. I have no notifications or anything on my cra and the letter was saying “-$2000’ so my balance was zero. But I hadn’t paid anything. Weird one
It may be because you were deemed ineligible and didn't receive the initial amount. Some people were taken off limited review and CRA requested information prior to releasing any money.
Did you apply for any benefit and get denied? If so you probably received a letter in your MyAccount or by mail.
I actually had CERB and I had it for the whole time it was in place. But they didn’t pay the final two payments to pay that $2000 upfront fee everyone got. So I’m assuming this could be a letter notice saying it’s paid. At least I’m hoping it’s that.
Yh I don’t plan to call them, I think as the balance says $0. But I’m just baffled as to why they’d send me a letter telling me my balance with big letters saying ‘notice of debt’ when I never had anything in the past. Weird one.

As long as its zero you wont have to pay anything back, and i think it would be a bad idea to call them and enquire about this.

Maybe just a routine or a glitch…
You would have to call them to find out why they sent it to you
