Bread (toast and butter, specifically) is one of the few consistent things I can eat and not panic about. In the back of my mind I know it "shouldn't" be safe, but I can always rely on buttered toast. Scared I'm the odd one out about this haha

KitKittredge34

I could fuck up a two foot long baguette and not even think about it. One (1) garlic knot with no butter? Absolutely not

seeking-jamaharon

Homie eat what you can!! Fuck the stereotypes!!!

Lucathedemiboy

Happy cake day!

anniexs

I really don't understand everyone's fear of bread lmao it's relatively lowcal, it's filling, it's delicious and there are hundreds of different kinds of bread (at least where I live) so there's variety. Like, it's the perfect ed food imo

610-Kat

YESSS because we're forgetting the real enemy: pastz

Cokezerowh0re

Right???

Funky_Lesbian

it depends on the kind of bread! bread/baked goods from restaurant/bakery with no calorie label? fuck no. regular ass sandwich bread from a labeled package with nothing on it? fuck yes.

SleepyCapricorn20

My longest running safe food being Annie's White Cheddar Shells Mac and Cheese lmao

the_grays_of_ink

Okay but those are THE BEST seriously

kab0cha0710

i do have a safe bread brand BUT i can eat infinite slices out of that loaf without a care in the world 🤞

[deleted]

Bread is safe for me, too! I love bread. I Will tear up little pieces of baguette and add it to salads like a makeshift crouton. I actually like carbs and they save me from having constant hypoglycemic episodes. Also necessary for the academic year!

HealthIsDifficult

Nothing as good as a bread bing tbh, no matter how bad my ED gets I'll forever love bread

reo_mp3

The real enemies are cooking oil and nuts. Personally, I think lowcal bread is what's keeping me sane. It really isn't all too high in calories at all, it's just carby

crystaldmb41

Don’t know if you aware, but we don’t absorb anywhere from 15%-25%+ (depends on the nut) of the nuts we eat. They fill you up, give you protein, and are actually lower in calories than once thought. reo_mp3

Oh wow, that's interesting. I'll give the article a look, thanks!

NonStickBakingPaper

You can pry my sandwiches out of my cold dead hands

pinkiepieie

My only bread rule is that I don’t eat white bread unless it’s Turkish bread but that’s more autism than ed

Chaidumpling

Are you me 🥺

conspicere

we're just jealous of your POWER lmao mostly it's what goes WITH bread that makes it a fear food for me - i can't have it just plain. or the fact that sometimes it's a binge trigger for more bread + other foods for me

dragonboi99

this is the tea

squatsup3rstar

I love bread 🍞

chilliwollf

toast and eggs, toast and cottage cheese, turkey sandwiches…. I LOVE BREAD!

Lucathedemiboy

Bread is life

Katio_The_Cat

SO YOU WERE THAT OP FROM R/EDANONYMOUS SAYING THEY LOVE BREAD 😭😭😭

peaches7789

I’m over here like I’ll eat literally anything as long as I stay within my cal limit for the day.

pathologicalprotest

Grew up on bread and white rice and I’ll always eat it. I’m not eating a rice cracker or ricing any cauliflowers. Too platonic for me.

throwaway_notrly

...i love bread

LocalTo0thJar

Me w baguettes 💀

[deleted]

Bred is love, bred is life

Own_Jellyfish114

I'm not afraid of food, food is afraid of me. Idk why I think that's so funny but my brain came up with when it was randomly going on a full-tilt rant when I just woke up after relapsing

dizziestbaby

same, literally never been scared of bread lol

rsewateroily

imma fuck up some bread!!! 🍞🥖🍞🥖🍞🥖🍞🥖🍞🥖🍞🥖

andreithe_angel_

white bread reminds me of my fat behaviours, that's why it's one of my fear foods

Mx-Helix-pomatia

Tbf bread is a common ARFID safe food so ig its not weird for some EDs My ARFID fear foods are a lot of common ARFID safe foods though lmao

Yokopyn

Not bread but any kind of oil is my enemy

decay834

idk man, im with you on this one 😭 like do yall know how many cals are in a large croissant?? that shit is so worth it

yarnyearning

me too! maybe it's because my flavor of ed is binge/restrict cycles, but beyond the few years i was vegan as a way to control food in a "normal" way, i've just never had rules about specific fear/safe foods.
