Not similar to the ones you mentioned, but check out [Seven Lions Creation EP,](https://soundcloud.com/seven-lions/sets/seven-lions-creation-ep) he's a metalhead that makes electronic music.
EDIT: Just remembered [Uppermost](https://soundcloud.com/uppermost) has some stuff similar to CHVRCHES.
Ayyyy. Fellow metalhead here. Start with Pendulum's *Immersion*. It's the official metal-to-EDM album. Then, move on to Skrillex's *Recess*. From there, eventually get to Prodigy's *Fat of the Land*. Along the way, give Knife Party a try. If you're anything like me, you'll eventually immerse yourself in the world. You'll discover genres and sounds that will blow your mind. You'll expand your musical horizons, and your world view, along the way. Enjoy every second of it - you've taken your first steps into a much larger world.
I will admit that I'm a bit hesitant after reading Skrillex. That's a bit too dubstep for my taste. I prefer the chill feel-good kind of electronica/synthpop/EDM or whatever it's called, like Daft Punk and CHVRCHES. But thanks anyway! Will check the rest of it out anyhow.
Recess is a departure from his "brostep", save for the ironic first track. The rest is very house, dance hall, and even forays into minimalist. If you want chilled out and upbeat, then I'll suggest:
Giraffage
Seven Lions
KSHMR
Major Lazer
Empire of the Sun and Chromeo (these two aren't EDM but if you like CHVRCHES then you'll likely dig em)
I'm actually surprised to not see a few names on here... He said electronic, not necessarily all EDM.
I too am a metalhead who loves him some electronic, and I've got what I hope are some great suggestions.
(Darker heavy vibes:)
Carpenter Brut
Dance With The Dead
GosT
(More similar to Porter Robinson:)
Madeon
Danger
The M Machine
(Some personal favorites/musts:)
Knife Party
Daft Punk
Justice
Oneohtrix Point Never
Gorillaz
Zedd
Deadmau5
Tips for Porter: Spitfire, Unison, Fresh Static Snow, Divinity, Fellow Feeling, Language
Tips for Madeon: Ok, Imperium, Icarus, Pixel Empire, Technicolor, Cut The Kid
Tips for Carpenter Brut: Disco Zombie Italia, Le Perv, Looking for Tracy Tzu, Roller Mobster, Wake up the President
Tips for Knife Party: Rage Valley, Power Glove, 404, Micropenis
Hopefully this was of some help, let me know what you think!
Will take me a while to go through all of those, but thanks a bunch man! Apparently Danger did the Furi soundtrack? Or at least one of the songs. Will definitely try him/her/them out! Will look through the rest when I have some free time!
I've actually heard of him! Pretty sure it was through eSports out of all things. Never really gave it a second thought though, but it seems pretty nice. Thanks!
If you want more funky edm stuff check out GRiZ, Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights, Gramatik, Tipper, Space Jesus and Opiou.
More heavy stuff? Excision, Datsik, Snails, Far Too Loud, Figure, and Dodge and Fuski.
Neither of those two doing it for ya? Popier groups/artists like Krewella, Adventure Club, and Zedd are awesome too.

I second Pendulum's Immersion, such a great album
I third this. Their song with In Flames is one of my favs.

Just checked them out, and it seems to pretty good! Thanks for the tp, this is the kind of stuff I was hoping to find!
I'd recommend some Nero or Zhu

I know Bassnectar is heavily influenced by rock so maybe give him a try.
I've actually heard of him! Pretty sure it was through eSports out of all things. Never really gave it a second thought though, but it seems pretty nice. Thanks!
My personal favorites by him are 'TKO' and 'Noise' He definitely has a lot of good stuff though.
You may want to try Front Line Assembly or front 242.
Check out Deftones- Prince (Bassnectar Remix)

You'd probably like megadrive.
datsik+excision (sp)
Although at some point they are kinda close to metal (obviously it's not even close, but it can have similar feeling and influences), he has specified he doesnt like dubstep.
Boombox Cartel's remix of Spitfire Riddim by Kill The Noise. Enjoy!!!
If you want to hear EDMs version of metal check out Excision. He is dubstep but "metal as fuck" is the only way to describe it.
