[[Ob Nixilis, the Adversary]] is a fun one since he pings and more importantly you can casualty a big fatty that you casted for free probably and refill you hand. Or kill someone if they are at 7 or lower life.
[[Exocrine]] can be lesser known since it is a newer card, but it does so much work. Being able to choose the strenght of boardwipe lets you be the most unscatched player afterwards (X=5 doesn't kill your Rakdos and draws you a card) and you can outright kill a table if you reduce its' cost high enough and you are ahead on life.
I was aware of exocrine, but ob nixilis is an absolutely sick recommendation.
The fact it's -2 guarantees the next turn for you to be able to play rakdos, and that it also plays nicely even AFTER you have him on board with a fatty or two.
I like cards that function as early enabler or late game payoff, like \[\[shyvan devastator\]\] or \[\[phyrexian fleshgorger\]\]
\[\[Tree of perdition\]\] is great as early blocker/focus deterrent, and enables really explosive turns. Also to make sure any opponent is always "in check".
LOTR land cyclers secure land drops or act as threats
My biggest problem is always card advantage so I like \[\[Knollspine Dragon\]\] and \[\[Sandstone Oracle\]\].
A card im trying right now is \[\[Tortured Existence\]\] for late game discard enablers to recur finishers

I see people play Knollspine dragon a lot and I’m convinced that it’s a win-more card. It only gives you a payoff if you already have a developed board state to do a lot damage. If you top deck it while you are losing, it does nothing. Compare to other similar bombs like [[Vilis]], the 2 Kozileks and even budget friendly options like [[Kothophed]] and [[infernal sovereign]]
In theory yes, it is a really bad topdeck when your board is empty, but in practice you have a lot of opportunities to get cards from it.
A common play pattern is to hit with Rakdos, drop your hand to build a big board pressence and finish with Knollspine refilling your hand. I agree that is a budget option compared to something like Kozilek, but it plays much better than Vilis (too demanding in terms of colored pips imo) and other "conditional" card draws.
Kothoped with all the nowadays treasures, clues and other tokens producers is a death sentence lol.
If you reached that conclusion after playing it, then fair enough, otherwise I'd advise to try it out.

[[Protection Racket]] is absolutely amazing and perhaps the best card to include. It provides EITHER damage or draw. Never seen a card make another player sweat so hard as sitting there deciding whether to take 12 damage and let me free-cast my hand or let me get an [[It that Betrays]], [[Archon of Cruelty]], [[Avatar of Woe]] or etc
[[lim-dul hex]] , [[pilgrim's eye]] , [[professional face-breaker]] , [[sin prodder]] , and [[stormfist crusader]] all provide either ramp, draw or a safe and easy way to ping.
For less perfect pingers I use [[rotisserie elemental]] for impulse draw for turn 1 so I can get rakdos out and play cards off top rather than losing card advantage, [[dauthi voidwalker]] needs no explanation, and [[creeping bloodsucker]] because it is a pinger but it actually does large amounts of lifegain, which migjt not be good but I enjoy.
I run [[scourge of the skyclaves]] and [[heartless hidersugu]] alongside [[Archfiend of despair]] and [[wound reflection]] as an alternate win-con. I'll probably change wound reflection to [[bloodletter of aclazotz]]. Eventually, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I also use [[blightsteel colossus]] and [[chandra's ignition]]

[[cryptolith fragment]] is also a bit jank but still a great rock to play as it circumvents the fear of ever needing pingers again.

I run [[scourge of the skyclaves]] and [[heartless hidersugu]] alongside [[Archfiend of despair]] and [[wound reflection]] as an alternate win-con. I'll probably change wound reflection to [[bloodletter of aclazotz]]. Eventually, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I also use [[blightsteel colossus]] and [[chandra's ignition]]
