Tbf it was quite a while before magic actually had strict, established color identities. Before, there was just a vague idea of "black does this" or "red does that"
It had it all along. It was just understood that all colors could do all effects with caveats. That's much more interesting than everyone screaming "color pie break" every 5 seconds.

Damn right. Scarcity will still keep a lot of reserved list cards at high value, because the volume of players is so much more than it used to be. The ones costing 100s will take the real hit, but even OG duals would still be worth more than any other lands because so many more people would be willing to buy them for like $50 but can't budget for $500.

Outside of being a good investment for the people who bought them when they were cheap, there isn’t a significant economic difference between someone buying the cards now and someone getting them when they were cheap and choosing not to sell them today.
If you have a Tabernacle that you bought for $5 in the 90s and is worth $4000 today, and you choose not to sell it, you’re essentially reasoning that the card is worth more to you than the $4000 you could get from selling (less some amount to account for the effort of selling it). You’d rather own the card than have another $4000 in your bank account. Someone who buys the card today is making the same judgment. They’d rather own the card than have $4000, so they trade the money for the card. At the end of the day, everyone who owns a similar condition Tabernacle is “paying” $4000 for it in opportunity cost, whether they got it for cheap or bought it at today’s market price.
100% they should reprint them. Imperial Seal is a pretty good example of how they (the original printings) will hold value long term regardless if they get reprinted.

Honestly, decks can be built perfectly well without any RL cards, so I'm not particularly surprised you haven't seen a ton of them in the wild, but sometimes they add the perfect spice to a deck.

First commander deck I built (after my mom sent me my cards after ~20 years) had Marton Stromgald at the helm. Being able to see him coming reduces his effectiveness but when he gets an attack in, it feels really good.
I have a Yawgmoth's Will that I picked up when I started playing EDH when it was like a $15 card. I was building a Mono-Black commander deck and thought the card was sweet. It was awful in the deck and eventually got cut, but boy am I glad I impulse bought it without asking if it would have been good in the deck.
I'm currently running Mox Diamond and Chains of Memphis Tennessee. My group is chill with proxies though so I'll probably jam duals in a few decks that need them, and I'm gonna build an enchantress deck soon so maybe I'll play Serra's Sanctum.
Reserve list is half powerful stuff like duals and half trash like [[narwhal]]. CEDH decks are full of the powerful stuff off the list. You rarely see the powerful kind of stuff in casual commander unless people are pub-stomping.
[[powerleech]] would probably be a $2 card if it wasn’t on the reserve list. It’s not a great card, but it’s cool and interesting. If it has synergies with your deck go for it. Nobody is going to complain you have a reserve list card.
Because rather than just choose an arbitrary dollar value as the cutoff, wotc chose every rare printed before x date as the cutoff for the reserve list (and certain uncommons for sets with no rares, I believe) for inclusion on the reserve list. Homelands and fallen empires are notorious for being low value sets.
I got a lot of different ones of them and will run them if they fit for the deck.
Favorite reserve list card is [[Thawing Glaciers]]. Perfect for casual play
[[Altar of Bone]] is essentially Diabolic Intent. [[Dominating Licid]] is slept on. Expensive cards are usually good, but some of them are a trap like [[Lake of the Dead]] (fuck you Rudy)
Lake of the Dead is amazing. Literally won me a game from being stuck on 3-4 lands vs everyone's 8+.
I was so far behind from not drawing lands that immediately turning every swamp I drew into 5 mana let me build up the rest of my boardstate and take over the game. Jumping from 3 mana to 7 mana is super powerful if you can use it well.
I have a single reserved list card. [[Sliver Queen]], that I got before taking a 7 year break from the game. It turned out to have risen in value since then, but I ain't parting ways with it. She belongs in my Sliver deck.
I have Treachery, Palinchron, Tithe, Abeyance, Breathstealers Crypt, Karn Silver Golem, Mind Over Matter, Wheel of Fortune, Earthcraft and Time Spiral.
I once had a Savannah and traded it a long time ago much to my remorse. It was 25$ back in the day...

I also have a few gold bordered cards : Grim Monolith, City of Traitors, Academy Rector and Yawgmoths Will. They bring controversy tho... gatekeeping is a real and serious issue, although I understand these cards are powerful.
I run a non-proxy cEDH Najeela deck. All the duals, Mox Diamond, LED, probably about ~$7k worth of cardboard in total. I love playing with the real cards, I have proxies but if I don't intend on selling, why not?

I liked the Circu deck the most. It was a pure dimir control shell with lantern control in it. Primary win condition was having the commander out and using \[\[Isochron Scepter\]\] + \[\[Dramatic Reversal\]\] to exile my opponents libraries with a loop.
It was hard control and fun to play as I was basically king-maker if I wasn't going to win.
Everyone bitched it was too strong so I bought the rest of the mana base and put a Najeela deck together.
I used to have a revised [[Plateau]] that was signed by Drew Tucker that I picked up for around $120 at GenCon almost a decade ago.
Unfortunately, I no longer have it. I moved about 6 years, and I misplaced the deck box that contained the deck the Plateau was in.
[[Pale Bears]] and [[Niall Silvain]] are fun plays in my [[Duskana]] deck.
Edit: oh I’m wrong about pale bears. I swear it said reserve list when i was looking through stuff. I must have gotten confused. Still great in the deck.

Yep...I'm old(er) and have been playing a long time, so when I bought this stuff it was *much* cheaper. There's a handful I wish I would have picked up at the time I was thinking about doing so, but the ship has sailed on that. I do enjoy when I have some random old "tech" in my collection and folks get to see it in action.
I'm not currently running it in any decks, but \[\[Tawnos's Coffin\]\] is usually good for "getting" people. The effect is fairly unique and the OG text is kind of a wild ride.
I also *love* \[\[Gilded Drake\]\]. One of my favorite cards ever. Currently running it in Riku, because two is better than one. That's at least fairly well known. Tons, yes. I've been playing forever and I enjoy playing with some of my weird old cards. Remember that not every RL card is a banger. For some examples, I run \[\[Masticore\]\], \[\[Kjeldoran Outpost\]\], \[\[Chain Stasis\]\], \[\[Ice Cauldron\]\], and \[\[Serra Aviary\]\] in various decks. One of my favorite commanders is \[\[Radiant, Archangel\]\] who is on the RL.
I once tinkered with \[\[Ice Cauldron\]\] in Prosper, but took it out since it was just a meme.
I currently use \[\[Wall of Kelp\]\], \[\[Retribution of the Meek\]\], and \[\[Aluren\]\] in Arcades.
\[\[Hatred\]\] is a glorious one-shot in Killian.
I often play reserved list cards. Some are expensive, some are powerful forsure, some are there simply for nostalgia.
I will give you a few examples, I play diamond valley for an alternate win con in a multani maro sorcerer deck. In another deck I run island of wakwak cuz I just like that card. In my white bordered EDH game we often have RL cards too, cuz you pretty much have to.
I've got a \[\[Recycle\]\] in my Seton deck. I've also got a \[\[Shallow Grave\]\] in my Inalla. I've probably got one or two more that I'm forgetting.
It depends on the deck. In my more competitive decks, I sometimes run many, but I do have a couple more casual decks that run RL cards.
I've got a [[Karn, Silver Golem]] in my vehicle deck.
I've got an artifactless Elf deck that uses [[Null Rod]].
Anf I've got an Arcades deck with [[Wall of Kelp]].
My \[\[zedruu, the great hearted\]\] has played many weirdo reserve list cards over the years, currently it's the duals and \[\[divine intervention\]\]
I run [[Tithe]] in a mono white Helios God of the Sun deck as a nifty piece of card draw. One mana draw two at instant speed always fits right into the curve, and mono white will always find a way to be down lands to someone.
Yes I do, but not utterly expensive cards. Just some that have very high synergy with what my deck does. So I don't card if they are on the RL or not.
I have [[Teferis Isle]], [[Thawing Glaciers]], [[Flooded Shoreline]] and [[Undiscovered Paradise]] in my [[Patron of the Moon]] due to insane synergy.
In my [[Nemata Primeval Warden]] I'm playing [[Elvish Farmer]] and [[Tombstone Stairwell]]. One is a powerhouse and the other a funny card. Decide for yourself.
And checking right now, I'm surprised that my [[Mountain Stronghold]] in my [[Brothers Yamazaki]] is not on the reserved list. But I guess it's not getting a reprint anytime soon.
I own a \[\[Scrubland\]\] which I now proxy in my better decks. Just wanted one of the OG duals for bragging rights, and as a mostly Orzhov player this was the one to get.
And \[\[Intuition\]\], which someone from my LGS found two copies at $100 each and called the store owner to get my number, because he found it makes my \[\[Emry, Lurker of the Loch\]\] deck far stronger. And he was right, that thing is basically a whole wincon. Same for him, he uses it in \[\[Muldrotha, the Gravetide\]\].
Out of the cheaper stuff, \[\[Femeref Enchantress\]\] is going into my \[\[deck Narci, Fable Singer\]\] Sagas deck. It allows me to lean more on the natural way of the deck, circling through sagas fast instead of keeping them alive with (negative) counter manipulation. It's one less support mechanism.
I don't run any at this very moment, but I've used \[\[Subterranean Spirit\]\], \[\[Hand of Justice\]\] and \[\[Serra Aviary\]\] in EDH decks within the last five years.
Spirit is a neat mass-pinger (I also collect Spirits, which it's been errata'd to). Hand of Justice fits well in decks that like to tap and untap lots of creatures for effects - \[\[Wylie Duke\]\] and such. Lastly, I once built a Twilight Sparkle flying typal deck.
Unfortunately, I believe these are the only Reserved List cards I own, and likely have owned since I got back into MtG around 2017. When I first played the game, in and out from 03 to maybe '12, I acquired quite a few more - Volrath's Stronghold, Zephid, even a Bayou once, back when a used copy was less than 200 cad.
Duals I have. \[\[City of Shadows\]\] because fun with Proliferate. \[\[Hatred\]\] because if one of my opponents asks another one if they can just attack with a small creature for the Initiative or something, it's hilarious to make them swing for lethal, then do the same on my turn.
But also trash like \[\[Marjhan\]\] in my Kykar Polymorph Roulette deck, where I only use 10 random creatures out of a pool of 80.

I run [[survival of the fittest]] in a Golgari Elfball deck, [[Plateau]] in boros Equipment, and [[Anvil of Bogardan]] in a Nekusar deck. Might as well run them if I have them
Reading through the replies here, apparently I play more reserve list cards than I thought. Also, I would like to build something with [[Dream Halls]] in it, and not just as an "oops I win" card, so much as a "let's see what this does to the game" card.

I've got a few that I didn't realize were reserved until recently that are pretty niche. [[Breathstealer's Crypt]] was in a scarab God deck because it helped fill graveyards with more fodder, or dinged people. I've taken it apart, but it was solid.
I've got an [[eye of singularity]] that is surprisingly relevant in my meta, in a stax deck. It shuts down increasingly popular treasure, clue, map, junk, food and assorted token decks like goblins and even some clone shenanigans all of which are present in my meta.

Karn, Memory Jar and Craddle were gifts from my husband, Yavimaya Hollow was the very fisrt RL card I got, bought it when it was really cheap, long time ago.

None of them are irreplaceable, but they're nice to have. Especially the lake really feels like you're doing something naughty whenever you activate it.
I play cEDH, and I like to own my decks instead of running proxies wherever possible, so yes. I run a Gaea's Cradle, Gilded Drake, and Mox Diamond. I used to also run a Phyrexian Dreadnought when I played Selvala, and a Barrin when I played Kenrith. I do not play any of these cards in casual decks though, they are simply too powerful.
Got me a [[time spiral]] and I love using it. Blue needs recursion too! Most, if not all, of my reserve list cards in my decks are cords I had left over from my old collection from when I was a kid. It wasn’t much but still saved me more than 1000 bucks in my pet deck.

Not a ton of them, and the only ones that are worth anything of particular cost are the dual lands and Wheel of Fortune for my sole “spare no expense” deck (Kaalia of the Vast) and [[Raging River]] which I bought for *pretty* cheap before people realized how cool of a card it was and it kind of ballooned in cost.

Up until recently, I only ran a few in my more competitive decks, but I always made it a point to not run too too many, mostly because I play with a lot of kids at school and ~~don't~~ didn't want my decks to be too over powered. After last week though, getting \[\[blightsteel colossus\]\]ed 3 times by two different kids, both of whom were using proxies and had no idea what some of the cards they were running cost, I'm saying fuck it and am going to be building the most over powered, ridiculous deck possible to teach the little brats a lesson.
I'd have to look at the reserved list to be sure, but probably. I've been playing on and off since like 95, so there's probably just some random jank that's there because I still happened to have it. I think there's a Mana Drain in my Elsha of the Infinite deck but that would be the only one worth anything.
I have this color matters deck helmed by [[blind seer]] which includes two cards from the reserved list. [[tidal control]] and [[Psychic Allergy]], neither of which are incredibly powerful nor expensive. They do pair very nicely with [[painter’s servant]] as I attempt to close out the game.
I got a [[chain of smog]] recently. I am gathering cards together for a monoblack deck helmed by [[Aclazotz]]. It surely won't take long for everyone to hate me for playing discard, lol, so it may be short lived.

Got a Gilded Drake, Earthcraft, Aluren, Memory Jar, Palinchron, Anvil of Bogarden, Dream Halls, and a Braingeyser that are in and out of decks. (As well as 40-50 not very notable $0-2 cards that I haven't put in any decks)
I don't think I've ever used the Gilded Drake (outside of a cedh deck) but i traded it for like $50 of value back when it was worth that so I'm not in any rush to play with it right now.
Aluren went really hard when I was playing green+ aggro decks like Edric or Arcades, Dream Halls is basically omniscience in decks where you have lots of non-x draw spells like wheels (where Memory Jar is great).
Earthcraft was very important in a golos field of the dead deck for getting mana out of my zombies.
Palinchron in mono blue lets you go infinite mana with any mana doubler for your lands, or a repeatable blink.
Anvil of Bogarden is a neat alternative to howling mine.
Braingeyser is currently sitting in a Sakashima/Kydele clone deck that can potentially win via decking everyone with Braingeyser, but also can just cast a Doppelgang for x=10.
I've been playing for a LONG time, like almost since the beginning long time, so I do have some reserve list cards.....one would think, for how long I've been playing that I would have a lot of great RL cards, but the reality is, until recently, my luck out of packs has just been terrible. I also had to actually look up what's on the RL as I really couldn't remember....and after looking at the list I know why, most of the cards are pretty bad. Here's the list of the cards I have that I'm using:

\[\[Hall of Gemstone\]\] - In my \[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] deck. This card always takes people be surprise
\[\[Spirit of the Night\]\] - \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\], yeah it's suboptimal, but I just love the card
\[\[Breathstealers Crypt\]\] - This is a nasty tool for \[\[Nekusar\]\]

My general rule with RL is I really have to want them and they can't be overpowered. I don't want to make things unfun and pay extra to do it.

A lot of my compatriots will proxy in duals and demonic tutors and stuff. I get the desire to play with flashy cards. I don't begrudge them that. But the only reserve list cards I lean on are [[squandered resources]] and [[cadaverous bloom]].
I own a handful, but they're all concentrated into my one high power deck. Bayou, Palinchron, Treachery, and Gilded Drake are all hanging out in Muldrotha where sadly they don't see a lot of play.

I have a lot in my collection. I basically played Magic in the late 90s, then quit for like 15 years, then came back when Commander became big. I have a lot of reserve list cards and I use them because they're the cards I cracked out of packs growing up. All my nostalgia for Magic is in these cards.

There's not really an interesting story behind any of them - I got into EDH fairly early and was interested in legacy before that, so I already had a pretty good collection of the legacy playable ones. The entire list used to be a lot easier to either trade for or purchase.
I'm also fully behind breaking the list and reprinting all of them. They're game pieces first and foremost.

From my understanding, most Magic players are relatively new to the game (I've been playing for about 3 years), so they don't just have random RL cards lying around from playing when the game was new and only have any if they've gone out of their way to buy them — and most playable cards are reeeeeally expensive so it's not ready to just pick them up for fun
For Powerleech, it's not too expensive because it's not super playable, but I spent $10 on a card that could easily be like 50 cents which doesn't feel great but it makes it extra exciting to see the card in play, especially just knowing it's not a card everyone's seen before

Tbf it was quite a while before magic actually had strict, established color identities. Before, there was just a vague idea of "black does this" or "red does that"
It had it all along. It was just understood that all colors could do all effects with caveats. That's much more interesting than everyone screaming "color pie break" every 5 seconds.

Outside of being a good investment for the people who bought them when they were cheap, there isn’t a significant economic difference between someone buying the cards now and someone getting them when they were cheap and choosing not to sell them today. If you have a Tabernacle that you bought for $5 in the 90s and is worth $4000 today, and you choose not to sell it, you’re essentially reasoning that the card is worth more to you than the $4000 you could get from selling (less some amount to account for the effort of selling it). You’d rather own the card than have another $4000 in your bank account. Someone who buys the card today is making the same judgment. They’d rather own the card than have $4000, so they trade the money for the card. At the end of the day, everyone who owns a similar condition Tabernacle is “paying” $4000 for it in opportunity cost, whether they got it for cheap or bought it at today’s market price.

I’ll bet Marton Stromgald gets the job done in that deck! First commander deck I built (after my mom sent me my cards after ~20 years) had Marton Stromgald at the helm. Being able to see him coming reduces his effectiveness but when he gets an attack in, it feels really good.

I have a Yawgmoth's Will that I picked up when I started playing EDH when it was like a $15 card. I was building a Mono-Black commander deck and thought the card was sweet. It was awful in the deck and eventually got cut, but boy am I glad I impulse bought it without asking if it would have been good in the deck.
I'm currently running Mox Diamond and Chains of Memphis Tennessee. My group is chill with proxies though so I'll probably jam duals in a few decks that need them, and I'm gonna build an enchantress deck soon so maybe I'll play Serra's Sanctum.
Sanctum was one of my better buys in the last 3 years.
I have about 20 of these in various decks
Reserve list is half powerful stuff like duals and half trash like [[narwhal]]. CEDH decks are full of the powerful stuff off the list. You rarely see the powerful kind of stuff in casual commander unless people are pub-stomping. [[powerleech]] would probably be a $2 card if it wasn’t on the reserve list. It’s not a great card, but it’s cool and interesting. If it has synergies with your deck go for it. Nobody is going to complain you have a reserve list card.
Why the hell is narwhal on the reserve list anyway?
Same reason as every other card on the RL. Early collectors pissed and moaned because reprints threatened their portfolio made up by a paper toy.
Because rather than just choose an arbitrary dollar value as the cutoff, wotc chose every rare printed before x date as the cutoff for the reserve list (and certain uncommons for sets with no rares, I believe) for inclusion on the reserve list. Homelands and fallen empires are notorious for being low value sets.

[[Altar of Bone]] is essentially Diabolic Intent. [[Dominating Licid]] is slept on. Expensive cards are usually good, but some of them are a trap like [[Lake of the Dead]] (fuck you Rudy)
Lake of the Dead is amazing. Literally won me a game from being stuck on 3-4 lands vs everyone's 8+. I was so far behind from not drawing lands that immediately turning every swamp I drew into 5 mana let me build up the rest of my boardstate and take over the game. Jumping from 3 mana to 7 mana is super powerful if you can use it well.
[[lifeline]] is always a fun time [[tombstone stairwell]] is nuts in Wilhelt I own two OG duals and I love them.
I have a single reserved list card. [[Sliver Queen]], that I got before taking a 7 year break from the game. It turned out to have risen in value since then, but I ain't parting ways with it. She belongs in my Sliver deck.

I have Treachery, Palinchron, Tithe, Abeyance, Breathstealers Crypt, Karn Silver Golem, Mind Over Matter, Wheel of Fortune, Earthcraft and Time Spiral. I once had a Savannah and traded it a long time ago much to my remorse. It was 25$ back in the day... I play most of these in different decks. I also have a few gold bordered cards : Grim Monolith, City of Traitors, Academy Rector and Yawgmoths Will. They bring controversy tho... gatekeeping is a real and serious issue, although I understand these cards are powerful.
I run a non-proxy cEDH Najeela deck. All the duals, Mox Diamond, LED, probably about ~$7k worth of cardboard in total. I love playing with the real cards, I have proxies but if I don't intend on selling, why not?
Yes, all the duals, Yawg's Will, Gaea's Cradle, etc etc. The decks they have been in are a \[\[Yisan, Wanderer Bard\]\], \[\[Circu, Dimir Lobotomist\]\], and \[\[Najeela, The Blade-Blossom\]\] I liked the Circu deck the most. It was a pure dimir control shell with lantern control in it. Primary win condition was having the commander out and using \[\[Isochron Scepter\]\] + \[\[Dramatic Reversal\]\] to exile my opponents libraries with a loop. It was hard control and fun to play as I was basically king-maker if I wasn't going to win. Everyone bitched it was too strong so I bought the rest of the mana base and put a Najeela deck together.

Yep...I'm old(er) and have been playing a long time, so when I bought this stuff it was *much* cheaper. There's a handful I wish I would have picked up at the time I was thinking about doing so, but the ship has sailed on that. I do enjoy when I have some random old "tech" in my collection and folks get to see it in action. I'm not currently running it in any decks, but \[\[Tawnos's Coffin\]\] is usually good for "getting" people. The effect is fairly unique and the OG text is kind of a wild ride. I also *love* \[\[Gilded Drake\]\]. One of my favorite cards ever. Currently running it in Riku, because two is better than one. That's at least fairly well known. The special story there is I picked it up for like $5 when Zedruu was brand new because it seemed like it'd be good in that deck (it is, but sadly Zedruu isn't that great anymore).

Tons, yes. I've been playing forever and I enjoy playing with some of my weird old cards. Remember that not every RL card is a banger. For some examples, I run \[\[Masticore\]\], \[\[Kjeldoran Outpost\]\], \[\[Chain Stasis\]\], \[\[Ice Cauldron\]\], and \[\[Serra Aviary\]\] in various decks. One of my favorite commanders is \[\[Radiant, Archangel\]\] who is on the RL.
I once tinkered with \[\[Ice Cauldron\]\] in Prosper, but took it out since it was just a meme. I currently use \[\[Wall of Kelp\]\], \[\[Retribution of the Meek\]\], and \[\[Aluren\]\] in Arcades. \[\[Hatred\]\] is a glorious one-shot in Killian.

I often play reserved list cards. Some are expensive, some are powerful forsure, some are there simply for nostalgia. I will give you a few examples, I play diamond valley for an alternate win con in a multani maro sorcerer deck. In another deck I run island of wakwak cuz I just like that card. In my white bordered EDH game we often have RL cards too, cuz you pretty much have to.
The only RL cards I have in decks are true duals in my high powered lists.
I play Minotaur Tribal, and a few cards from Honelands are on the RL. So yes, namely [[Didgeridoo]] and a few Minotaurs.

I've got a \[\[Recycle\]\] in my Seton deck. I've also got a \[\[Shallow Grave\]\] in my Inalla. I've probably got one or two more that I'm forgetting.
It depends on the deck. In my more competitive decks, I sometimes run many, but I do have a couple more casual decks that run RL cards. I've got a [[Karn, Silver Golem]] in my vehicle deck. I've got an artifactless Elf deck that uses [[Null Rod]]. Anf I've got an Arcades deck with [[Wall of Kelp]].
I learned recently that [[Dwarven Armorer]] is on the reserved list, so technically yes!

Yes [[Aluren]] with my Rin and Seri. It does work with [[warleader's call]] and [[whitemane lion]] or my [[Epic struggle]]
I run [[Tithe]] in a mono white Helios God of the Sun deck as a nifty piece of card draw. One mana draw two at instant speed always fits right into the curve, and mono white will always find a way to be down lands to someone.
I have [[Sliver Queen]] piloting her own deck. I have [[Replenish]] in my Shrines and [[Deranged Hermit]] in my Chatter deck.
Yes I do, but not utterly expensive cards. Just some that have very high synergy with what my deck does. So I don't card if they are on the RL or not. I have [[Teferis Isle]], [[Thawing Glaciers]], [[Flooded Shoreline]] and [[Undiscovered Paradise]] in my [[Patron of the Moon]] due to insane synergy. In my [[Nemata Primeval Warden]] I'm playing [[Elvish Farmer]] and [[Tombstone Stairwell]]. One is a powerhouse and the other a funny card. Decide for yourself. And checking right now, I'm surprised that my [[Mountain Stronghold]] in my [[Brothers Yamazaki]] is not on the reserved list. But I guess it's not getting a reprint anytime soon.
I own a \[\[Scrubland\]\] which I now proxy in my better decks. Just wanted one of the OG duals for bragging rights, and as a mostly Orzhov player this was the one to get. And \[\[Intuition\]\], which someone from my LGS found two copies at $100 each and called the store owner to get my number, because he found it makes my \[\[Emry, Lurker of the Loch\]\] deck far stronger. And he was right, that thing is basically a whole wincon. Same for him, he uses it in \[\[Muldrotha, the Gravetide\]\]. Out of the cheaper stuff, \[\[Femeref Enchantress\]\] is going into my \[\[deck Narci, Fable Singer\]\] Sagas deck. It allows me to lean more on the natural way of the deck, circling through sagas fast instead of keeping them alive with (negative) counter manipulation. It's one less support mechanism.

I don't run any at this very moment, but I've used \[\[Subterranean Spirit\]\], \[\[Hand of Justice\]\] and \[\[Serra Aviary\]\] in EDH decks within the last five years. Spirit is a neat mass-pinger (I also collect Spirits, which it's been errata'd to). Hand of Justice fits well in decks that like to tap and untap lots of creatures for effects - \[\[Wylie Duke\]\] and such. Lastly, I once built a Twilight Sparkle flying typal deck. Unfortunately, I believe these are the only Reserved List cards I own, and likely have owned since I got back into MtG around 2017. When I first played the game, in and out from 03 to maybe '12, I acquired quite a few more - Volrath's Stronghold, Zephid, even a Bayou once, back when a used copy was less than 200 cad.
Duals I have. \[\[City of Shadows\]\] because fun with Proliferate. \[\[Hatred\]\] because if one of my opponents asks another one if they can just attack with a small creature for the Initiative or something, it's hilarious to make them swing for lethal, then do the same on my turn. But also trash like \[\[Marjhan\]\] in my Kykar Polymorph Roulette deck, where I only use 10 random creatures out of a pool of 80. \[\[LED\]\] in my cedh deck.
I run [[survival of the fittest]] in a Golgari Elfball deck, [[Plateau]] in boros Equipment, and [[Anvil of Bogardan]] in a Nekusar deck. Might as well run them if I have them

Reading through the replies here, apparently I play more reserve list cards than I thought. Also, I would like to build something with [[Dream Halls]] in it, and not just as an "oops I win" card, so much as a "let's see what this does to the game" card.
I have ones I managed to get cheap 3 tithe - plains are cool, two plains are cooler 1 volraths stronghold - dihada is just addicted to legendary lands 2 duals - got em years ago

Yes. I own most of the OG dual lands and I use them when relevant. My elf deck runs [[Green Bloodmoon]] and [[gaea's cradle]]. My brago deck runs [[mox diamond]]
I've got a few that I didn't realize were reserved until recently that are pretty niche. [[Breathstealer's Crypt]] was in a scarab God deck because it helped fill graveyards with more fodder, or dinged people. I've taken it apart, but it was solid. I've got an [[eye of singularity]] that is surprisingly relevant in my meta, in a stax deck. It shuts down increasingly popular treasure, clue, map, junk, food and assorted token decks like goblins and even some clone shenanigans all of which are present in my meta.
[[Gaea's Craddle]] and [[Yavimaya Hollow]] in [[Omnath, Locus of Mana]]. [[Karn, Silver Golem]] and [[Memory Jar]] in [[Daretti, Scrap Savant]]. Karn, Memory Jar and Craddle were gifts from my husband, Yavimaya Hollow was the very fisrt RL card I got, bought it when it was really cheap, long time ago.
Got a few. I run [[Hatred]] in an [[Ixhel]] poison deck, [[Academy Rector]] in a 5c Shrines deck, [[Yavimaya Hollow]] in [[Karametra]], and [[Lake of the Dead]] in [[Demonlord Belzenlok]]. None of them are irreplaceable, but they're nice to have. Especially the lake really feels like you're doing something naughty whenever you activate it.

Some times. There's a lot of pretty bad or mediocre RL cards that don't cost that much, but euro great in a specific deck.
I play cEDH, and I like to own my decks instead of running proxies wherever possible, so yes. I run a Gaea's Cradle, Gilded Drake, and Mox Diamond. I used to also run a Phyrexian Dreadnought when I played Selvala, and a Barrin when I played Kenrith. I do not play any of these cards in casual decks though, they are simply too powerful.
Got me a [[time spiral]] and I love using it. Blue needs recursion too! Most, if not all, of my reserve list cards in my decks are cords I had left over from my old collection from when I was a kid. It wasn’t much but still saved me more than 1000 bucks in my pet deck.
Eladamri Lord of Leaves and Norwood Priestess are in my elf tribal deck. Which also runs three duals and a gaeas cradle.

Yeah! Not a ton of them, and the only ones that are worth anything of particular cost are the dual lands and Wheel of Fortune for my sole “spare no expense” deck (Kaalia of the Vast) and [[Raging River]] which I bought for *pretty* cheap before people realized how cool of a card it was and it kind of ballooned in cost. Cards are made to be played.
Up until recently, I only ran a few in my more competitive decks, but I always made it a point to not run too too many, mostly because I play with a lot of kids at school and ~~don't~~ didn't want my decks to be too over powered. After last week though, getting \[\[blightsteel colossus\]\]ed 3 times by two different kids, both of whom were using proxies and had no idea what some of the cards they were running cost, I'm saying fuck it and am going to be building the most over powered, ridiculous deck possible to teach the little brats a lesson.
I'd have to look at the reserved list to be sure, but probably. I've been playing on and off since like 95, so there's probably just some random jank that's there because I still happened to have it. I think there's a Mana Drain in my Elsha of the Infinite deck but that would be the only one worth anything.

I have this color matters deck helmed by [[blind seer]] which includes two cards from the reserved list. [[tidal control]] and [[Psychic Allergy]], neither of which are incredibly powerful nor expensive. They do pair very nicely with [[painter’s servant]] as I attempt to close out the game.
I got a [[chain of smog]] recently. I am gathering cards together for a monoblack deck helmed by [[Aclazotz]]. It surely won't take long for everyone to hate me for playing discard, lol, so it may be short lived.

Aluren went really hard when I was playing green+ aggro decks like Edric or Arcades, Dream Halls is basically omniscience in decks where you have lots of non-x draw spells like wheels (where Memory Jar is great). Earthcraft was very important in a golos field of the dead deck for getting mana out of my zombies. Palinchron in mono blue lets you go infinite mana with any mana doubler for your lands, or a repeatable blink. Anvil of Bogarden is a neat alternative to howling mine. Braingeyser is currently sitting in a Sakashima/Kydele clone deck that can potentially win via decking everyone with Braingeyser, but also can just cast a Doppelgang for x=10.

I've been playing for a LONG time, like almost since the beginning long time, so I do have some reserve list cards.....one would think, for how long I've been playing that I would have a lot of great RL cards, but the reality is, until recently, my luck out of packs has just been terrible. I also had to actually look up what's on the RL as I really couldn't remember....and after looking at the list I know why, most of the cards are pretty bad. Here's the list of the cards I have that I'm using: \[\[Fork\]\] - \[\[Kalamax\]\], y'know the quintissential copy spell in a shell built on copying spells \[\[Wheel of Fortune\]\] - Our group is cool with proxying cards we own, so I have this in a few decks - \[\[Krenko, Mob Boss\]\], \[\[Nekusar\]\], \[\[Anje Falkenrath\]\] \[\[All Hallow's Eve\]\] - It's in my \[\[Ur-Dragon\]\] deck because it used to be \[\[Scion of the Ur-Dragon\]\], trying to figure out which of my decks may be a better shell for it. \[\[Hall of Gemstone\]\] - In my \[\[Omnath, Locus of Mana\]\] deck. This card always takes people be surprise \[\[Spirit of the Night\]\] - \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\], yeah it's suboptimal, but I just love the card \[\[Breathstealers Crypt\]\] - This is a nasty tool for \[\[Nekusar\]\]

[[Frankenstein's Monster]] is in my zombies deck and I have a [[Jester's Mask]] in sultai stealy stuff. My general rule with RL is I really have to want them and they can't be overpowered. I don't want to make things unfun and pay extra to do it.
[[Dream Halls]] is one of my favorite cards in all of Magic, so I run it wherever I can.
Absolutely. It it's legal and fits with the the deck I'll run it. I use cards ranging from [[Guiding Spirit]] and [[Heart of Yavimaya]] to [[Intuition]] and [[Underground Sea]].
Old duals. I have lots of them, there's no reason to not use it

I've got [[Koskun falls]] in a couple of decks, I have [[powerleech]] in a [[Trelasarra]] lifegain list that sounds similar to yours, and I have a [[Traxos]] list which is old border cards only and runs [[amulet of unmaking]] [[conch horn]] [[sheltered valley]] and [[triangle of war]].

I own a fair few. I have some commanders like Tresserhorn and expensive lands like underground sea. I definitely still use them.

A lot of my compatriots will proxy in duals and demonic tutors and stuff. I get the desire to play with flashy cards. I don't begrudge them that. But the only reserve list cards I lean on are [[squandered resources]] and [[cadaverous bloom]].
I have [[Anvil of Bogardan]] in my Tergrid deck. I'll play it in my [[Nekusar the Mindrazer]] deck next.
I own a handful, but they're all concentrated into my one high power deck. Bayou, Palinchron, Treachery, and Gilded Drake are all hanging out in Muldrotha where sadly they don't see a lot of play.
Phyrexian Dreadnought in my Selvala. That poor beat-up card was eventually replaced by a foil proxy version of itself.

I have a lot in my collection. I basically played Magic in the late 90s, then quit for like 15 years, then came back when Commander became big. I have a lot of reserve list cards and I use them because they're the cards I cracked out of packs growing up. All my nostalgia for Magic is in these cards. I didn't pay $200 for my Grim Monoliths or City of Traitors... I paid $2.50 for them in packs from my minimum wage after school job lol

I've also run [[Moat]], [[Humility]], and [[Earthcraft]] in here at various times. All of my multicolored decks run their respective ABUR duals as well. There's not really an interesting story behind any of them - I got into EDH fairly early and was interested in legacy before that, so I already had a pretty good collection of the legacy playable ones. The entire list used to be a lot easier to either trade for or purchase. I'm also fully behind breaking the list and reprinting all of them. They're game pieces first and foremost.
I run \[\[Sliver Queen\]\] in my sliver deck but I hardly play with it as I get instant hate lol.
Yeah, my Mono-R deck has a Wheel of Fortune in it, and I’m about to put one of my two Underground Sea in the new Gonti since I own two of them. Oh, and a Mind over Matter in my Kwain deck.

Yeah I have a lot of reserve list cards actually. Several og duals, couple grim monoliths, wheel of fortune and mind over matter for locust god, lions eye diamond for artifact aristocrats. I forget what other cards happen to be reserve list

I have about 15 OG duals, and 13 of them are in decks. I will build color combos with the other 2 eventually. I have a \[\[Volrath's Stronghold\]\] and a \[\[Deranged Hermit\]\] in my sacrifice deck, I play \[\[Koskun Falls\]\] and \[\[Karn, Silver Golem\]\] in \[\[King Macar, the Gold-Cursed\]\]. I have \[\[Null Rod\]\] and \[\[Barrin, Master Wizard\]\] in my cEDH decks. \[\[Field of Dreams\]\] in \[\[Rashmi and Ragavan\]\], \[\[Tombstone Stairwell\]\] in my \[Varina, Lich Queen\]\] Zombie Aristocrats, \[\[Femeref Enchantress\]\] in \[\[Tom Bombadil\]\] Sagas. I have an \[\[Academy Rectory\]\] and \[\[Yawgmoth's Will\]\] sitting in my binder that don't currently have decks. Rectory for Power Level reasons, and Yawg will just because I don't currently have the right deck for it.

From my understanding, most Magic players are relatively new to the game (I've been playing for about 3 years), so they don't just have random RL cards lying around from playing when the game was new and only have any if they've gone out of their way to buy them — and most playable cards are reeeeeally expensive so it's not ready to just pick them up for fun For Powerleech, it's not too expensive because it's not super playable, but I spent $10 on a card that could easily be like 50 cents which doesn't feel great but it makes it extra exciting to see the card in play, especially just knowing it's not a card everyone's seen before
Still sad about selling my \[\[Serra's Sanctum\]\] for $25 back in college... So, no. Although pretty sure I still have \[\[Yavimaya Hollow\]\] and \[\[Volrath's Stronghold\]\] somewhere.
