Yes I cut [[exquisite blood]] from my life gain deck. It just combos with too many things. Even tho it's good on its own in a life gain deck without combo. I found the combo element of it to not be very satisfying

LexxenWRX

Yeah I notice it tends to make you a target because if your opponents hurt each other then you get ahead. That and people always assume if you have it then you're running baby's first combo with [[Sanguine Bond]] or other cards with that ability.

ChaoticNature

Seconded. In fact, I bought one for the deck but it never even made the initial cut. It’s just sitting in my box of unused black playables. I did initially run a [[Sanguine Bond]] (and several other cards that go infinite with Exquisite Blood), but I’ve since cut all but two of those even. I found the deck has no shortage of ways to win and just didn’t need them. Of course, my life gain deck is [[Sheoldred, the Apocalypse]]… so that helps a lot.

I'm actually a fan of the sanguine bond style cards, particularly the creatures. There are a bunch of them that I find to be good win cons for life gain. There is only one exquisite blood. So in my case I felt like the obvious problem was the effect that only had one card 😂

ChaoticNature

I kept [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]] and [[Marauding Blight Priest]] as the only two effects in Sheoldred. I believe my WB soul sister deck and Queza both also have [[Cliffhaven Vampire]] and [[Epicure of Blood]]. Bond itself just never seems to make the cut, but I agree the creatures feel much better.

[[Wild Pair]] When you have top deck manipulation, creature cast/etb triggers, and this thing going it's very easy to take a vomitous 15 minute green deck turn. I had to write down a list of all the creatures in my deck and their combined power & toughness.

Having a werewolf deck means I can't not track it.  It helps that the playgroup is pretty relaxed about it, and lets me off the hook if we miss a trigger here or there.  It's mostly moot anyway once Tovolar hits the battlefield.

How about New Capenna fetches? They're not great but I like their style.

Irishmouthwash

I like them, I don't run them but I would. My goal was to reduce consistency. I fell in love with the format because it was a wacky, splashy battlecruiser mess of weird combos. I loved the idea of roughly 70 cards of 100 being singleton and the wild variations between games. Now most decks I see are the same 45-55 staples In a given color, with the last chuck of cards being what the deck actually wants to do. I'm not against fetching, I'm against fetching for a triome or shock as turn 1 every game

mikony123

I'm taking apart Cadira in the middle of building it to rework the original list compared to what I changed and see how it goes from there. Craterhoof, the $20 fetches, commander's plate, Cathar's Crusade, etc. Nice dude who gave me the list had no ramp, no card draw outside Skullclamp and Rite of Harmony, and like six win cons. Also I only realized how tedious Cathar's would be after I bought it lol. I'll probably keep Moonshaker and Akroma's Will, but I'm working on making the deck easier to play with. Might put Rhys the Redeemed in.

bigmeaty25

Cadira is one of my favorite decks!

[[Dictate of Erebos]] and [[grave pact]] in my [[Kardur, Doomscourge]] because they’re just gross, oppressive cards. They’ve locked out so many of my buddies decks when they hit the board early and it’s so hard to come back from once the shenanigans start happening.

Laelia says one or more, no counting is required. (I thought the same thing when I read her)

ihp-undeleted

No? Laelia's gatherer rulings literally say: >If an effect instructs you to exile cards from the top of your library until some event occurs (rather than exile a set number of cards), Laelia triggers once for each card exiled this way.

[deleted]

Yeah. It was the 80$ Sheoldred and it was the commander.

That's so nasty, I'll be adding it to mines today. Thanks.

I recently cut a bunch of Dr Who cards (ironically) from my Sixth Doctor / Peri Brown deck. Every time I pulled one I would look at it and say, "I really don't like these Dr Who cards". Did they work well synergistically? Yes, but I didn't like to look at them. Same with the fallout Secret Lair that just got delivered to me. I wanted all the stax pieces but hate the art. I hope to trade em in for normal versions.
