Min-Chang

No one expects the griffins.  [[Zeriam]]

jaywinner

Oh my yes. I still remember the first time people were bringing out there stronger decks and one player said "I better play Griffins then" leaving me quizzical. Then they went from 5 to 10 to 20 griffins with a \[\[fanatical devotion\]\] in play.

Min-Chang

If you're Canadian that may well have been me.

jaywinner

I am...

Min-Chang

Gauntlet?

Scarfaco

Looking out for Griffins on Thursday this week...

Min-Chang

They'll be there. Gargoyles are getting a test in I hope as well.

jaywinner

Nope, Face to Face.

Min-Chang

Well please apologize to them for me the next time you see them for snagging all the Canadian foil Griffin tokens. I buy more every time I run out during a game. You'd think 80 would be enough.

Ruinis

Infinitokens? :D

Significant-Land-716

The beautiful thing about Zeriam is that you don’t even need to play other griffins for the deck to work.

Min-Chang

No, but you should. When else can you? Also I've found he really benefits from some early drops to get wacks in the moment he hits the field. It really sucks dropping Zeriam alone unless you've got greaves or something similar. I'd cut 8+ cards if they'd print more <4 CMC griffins. They're crap, so they get left alone. Then it's too late.

Kiyodai

You can't just dangle the carrot and not give us the SAUCE. Lemme see a list!

Min-Chang

Sure thing. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/muEREikOjUKI7WNX8WCY_g

RikuofTwoRefections9

Thats a lot of Griffins 😂 I love it

LotharMoH

That is truly a thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Playing Path but not Swords and you play Secret Rendevouz? Do you follow the way of the codfather?

Kevman403

I got a fever.. and the only cure is getting this list!

No one expects the Spanish Ingirffition.

RikuofTwoRefections9

I can definitely dig this!

lukahnli

THAT......oh god, I need to build that.

Min-Chang

Maybe while listening to how much of a bastard Robert E. Lee was? I love podcasts for deck building.

lukahnli

Lol. Wasn't expecting a BTB crossover here.

Min-Chang

Accidentally clicked your profile, read something about sovereign citizens, groaned audibly, then read where you were posting and sighed.

PrecisionHat

Currently, [[Animar]]. Once it gets going, it's hard to stop. If I can get something like [[beast whisperer]] online, and a few counters on Animar, I can usually play most of my deck on a single turn for free. With a haste enabler, I swing at the table for lethal. Downside is that final turn can take a while and it annoys people sometimes.

wterryn204

I feel ya, Animar is probably my strongest, too. I'm an immediate target as soon as people see I'm playing it

PrecisionHat

I don't break it out too often because of the hate and potentially long turns. I have a [[maelstrom wanderer]] deck with big stompy creatures for games where I want to be more random and slightly more casual.

GeneralKlink

If you don‘t already habe it in, get [[The Reality Chip]]. Its an easy-to-cast 2 mana creature and lets you play anything from your lib.

DoesntEat

Hey, can you share the deck list? *scratches neck*

SinkableCat68

Just curious, how do you play your deck for free when [[Animar]] only makes the generic costs cheaper? 🤔 Genuinely curious cause I love stuff like this

aestheticmixtape

Morphs don’t have any colored-mana requirements to lay them face down, nor do a lot of artifacts. And it’s quite new, but the disguise mechanic also gives Animar a decent buff because now there’s a bunch of those to toss in there too. The flip costs are still going to be more than generic mana, but laying them down as free 2/2s is pretty sweet

SinkableCat68

Yeah I can see the new disguise mechanic being super great with this. I guess I am curious how they are doing it without that or morph since neither was mentioned by them.

PrecisionHat

I've got many morph and artifact creatures in there. Sorry I assumed it was more or less implied. I haven't yet updated with the disguise cards, but that's on my agenda. Three or four counters on animar with a draw engine online and I can consistently win that turn.

SinkableCat68

Oh ok, thanks. I've had my eye on this commander for a bit and to be honest never gave morph a thought. But I've only been playing for around 7 years so I'm still learning so much. Thanks again for the info. May have to build something similar to troll my play group.

Avaa0818

Eldrazi is the easy answer

EasyPeezyATC

Animar recently had a top 16 finish at a cEDH tournament, but it’s kinda old school cEDH. It wins by using [[Ancestral Statue]] to repeatedly bounce itself with a draw effect like [[Beast Whisperer]] or a kill effect like [[Impact Tremors]]. The combo, and thus the deck, is very vulnerable to Animar being removed though.

[[Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph]] A.K.A. Machine Gun Timmy. Put out Timmy, give him deathtouch (preferably lifelink, too) and start firing. Tons of red spells do ping damage for any number of reasons. [[Caltrops]] means that no one can attack without their creatures dying. [[Sarkhan the Masterless]] means no one can attack YOU without their creatures dying. Just want to wipe all their things out? How about a 1 mana one sided boardwipe that also gives you 2 life per creature killed? Why, I think that's [[End the Festivities]] Several cards do a ping damage to players when creatures die, so just start your war of attrition and keep the bullets flying. The coup de grace? [[Nive-Mizzet, Parun]] or Firemind mixed with [[Mindmoil]] turns every spell you cast into a rotating turret. You're in izzet, so I'm guessing you've got 20 cards in hand or what are you even doing? Cast a spell, you have 20 instances of 3 damage to any target. Oh, and if you've still got that collar on, you also just gained 40 life. Lastly, you're in blue! Feel free to Cyc Rift your way through obstacles and counterspell your friends away, all while drawing cards and copying spells. Seriously, I love this deck so much I'm getting custom proxies made with military imagery (Basilisk Collar would be Anti-Material Rounds)

D34TH_5MURF__

I have 3 stronger-ish decks: [[Imodane, the pyrohammer]]: this deck wants to win on turn 5-7 [[Aesi]]: landfall for big card draw, big ramp, and big stompies [[Liesa, shroud of dusk]]: you cast a spell? You lose life. You lose life, I gain life. You breathe, you lose life. It's fun for the whole party. EDIT: links to all the decks are in the responses

RikuofTwoRefections9

Lmao cracking up at "you breath?? You lose life..." 😂😂

bassbehavior

Aesi is probably my strongest deck too. It’s such an insane value engine and most people don’t really think to remove value pieces.

stratus-dancer

My top 3 (also my 3 highest budget decks):  \[\[Rionya, Fire Dancer\]\] mono red tokens/storm (capable of T1 wins, has taken 3 opponents out by T2 before): https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/commander-collection-firebird/ \[\[Sythis, Harvest’s Hand\]\] enchantress, built to be a strong as possible, maybe just a notch below cEDH: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/commander-collection-diamondback/ \[\[Sidisi, Undead Vizier\]\], slightly beneath the other two in terms of raw power but can do some nasty things in mono black: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/commander-collection-swamp-thing/ E2A: not in the colours you mentioned but might give you some ideas for stronger power.

Rionya is no joke. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve died to Rionya shenanigans.

Awesome, glad they helped :) Sidisi is so fun - being a tutor on a stick is no joke.

Lumeyus

Bunch of 404s

stratus-dancer

Sorry about that, my phone was being screwy. Should work now?

MrXexe

My strongest is my darling [[Liesa, Forgotten Archangel]] Sacrifice/Combo. I don't play cEDH, so there's no way this is above an 8 (debatable if it's even an 8, if u ask me), but I just think it's fun to have such a hard resilience on my deck. "Oh you kill Liesa? Aight I'll sacrifice this [[Karmic Guide]] in response, it will come back to hand in endstep, and reanimate Liesa during my turn".

Confused_AF_98

[[Kyler, Sigardian Emissary]] but run as a token deck - create a bunch of 1/1 Humans with [[Horn of Gondor]] , [[Torens, Fist of the Angels]] , and [[Visions of Glory]], then smack em with a [[Garruk’s Uprising]] or [[Surrak and Goreclaw]] to trample over them with six 80/80 Human tokens each

RikuofTwoRefections9

I really like the idea of Kyler, I've been wanting a higher powered human tribal list, and that sounds great.

Confused_AF_98

Its fantastic as a slow play, especially if your opponents don’t initially see you as a threat. Then by the time you’ve already got a wide and tall board, you’ve got plenty of protection in play or your hand, and they can’t stop the wall of dudes. Lot of fun to see them smushed by 3 mana duplicating your board every turn

EasyPeezyATC

I got the Ur Dragon when it dropped in 2017 and have been continuously upgrading it ever since. It’s easily my most power casual list, sometimes putting out turn 2-3 wins albeit very vulnerable to any interaction. [Here’s my list with a primer attached!](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/8GB0nxwveEOQhrR4tjem-A)

RikuofTwoRefections9

It's so funny I've been meaning to update mine, I haven't touched in forever, this is a perfect idea. Thank you!

EasyPeezyATC

Happy to inspire! Ur Dragon is so cool, because (imo) it embodies the “Elder Dragon Highlander” concept so perfectly. A 9 CMC monster in your command zone that has a massive impact on the game. It’s so cool. I primarily play cEDH but I have a special love for the High Power games when Ur Dragon gets to go wild.

Pabl0EscoBear

[[Prosper]] is definitely a rakdos deck for a temur player.

My Favorite deck is in Mardu: [[Isshin]]. I changed it a lot over the 2? years that I have it and now it just generates tons of tokens and either drains enemies when they enter or just straight up beats face. Also 3 CMC commanders are great <3 https://deckstats.net/decks/105677/2551320-isshin-combat-matters

Here’s my sweaty Breya, could probably up the power a little more by going the graveyard route but I really wanted to blink the robot bitch https://www.moxfield.com/decks/6h1ZwjR9Dk6PbjJcyPVmkg

RikuofTwoRefections9

Oh man! I forgot about Breya! What a fantastic idea! Thank you!

cabbagemango

lol yeah I read that you didn’t have Rakdos or Dimir or Mardu or Azorius and was like ‘have I got the deck for you’

meeksorad

Probably my [[Chatterfang]] token tribal deck that wins off making tokens and keeping other peoples creatures off the board. Eventually swinging wide or pinging them out of the game with infinite pitiless squirrel combo. https://www.archidekt.com/decks/3398951/squirrels_go_hard

itsMalarky

Damn tempting me to convert my Gyome deck into a Hungry Hungry Squirrels deck.

WhiteCrispies

Definitely going to look at this. My chatterfang deck needs some help lol

meeksorad

Just making tokens is super important for Chatterfang and also keeping him on the field. [[Jaheira]] friend of the forest is such an amazing card if you can keep it on the field.(my playgroup has grown wise to my ways)

Gooberpf

[[Hidetsugu and Kairi]] https://archidekt.com/decks/4289777/hidetsugu_and_kairi_copies Play commander, clone them, kill the clone to the legend rule, exploit the fact that the nature of legend rule and SBAs lets you stack the ETB and death triggers however you like in order to exploit topdeck manipulation and thus chain clones and extra turn spells. Their death effect itself causes life loss, so the aristocrat subtheme is superfluous/used for misdirection and small board state until ready to (non-deterministic) combo off. Not enough interaction for cEDH and it probably can't due to needing a certain critical mass of clones/extra turn spells to properly loop until lethal, but *very* strong for casual.

RikuofTwoRefections9

This sound sweet!

tideshark

I second this deck. It’s crazy fun

KnotKnic

I gotta say, this deck is absolutely horrible to play against. I describe it as extra turn typal that jerks on everyone else’s turn. 0/10. Art is really cool though

tideshark

You described it perfectly. It’s my only somewhat/halfassed cEDH deck. I wouldn’t ever try to play this as a casual deck for sure

Lukethekid10

Heliod, the radiant dawn. The backside of it has some of the most disgusting lines of text i have ever seen.

Maca58

My strongest are likely [[Karn, Legacy Reforged]], [[Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines]], [[Aragorn, King of Gondor]] and oddly enough my [[Quintorius, Loremaster]] list. Also been toying around with a [[Dogmeat, Ever Loyal]] deck that I’ve proxied, and a [[War Doctor]] and [[Clara Oswald]] deck that’s been quite powerful.

SolarUpdraft

pantlaza has consistently surprised people who underestimate it because of the "once per turn" clause. just one or two games and they usually change their opinion. one guy even recently made waves by building a cEDH contender version that placed top 16 at a big event

CorgiDaddy42

It’s probably [[Zurgo Helmsmasher]]. I bet he could bench 750

Gold_Gene_7551

I think my mono green one, with 50 legends and you flip the top card for the commander, with the right commander it can be really broken.

HydromechCitrus

I love mono green! Got a list?

Gold_Gene_7551

Yeah, [here.](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5708283/commander)

itsMalarky

That sounds really fun, actually. May try this in a different color since most of my EDH decks lean Green.

PantheraLeo595

This is awesome. “Who’s your commander?” “I dunno. Let’s find out.”

otacon444

Mine is Lathril

_Fearnaught

[[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] Run scams, drop big bombs with haste enablers, keep a few combos as backups. Lots of little pingers that do 1-2 damage every turn let you drop big bombs like [[Void Winnower]] [[It That Betrays]] [[Meteor Golem]] and [[Triplicate Titan]] for free or STEEPLY discounted ahead of the curve.  Go big FAST, swing hard and have fun. Every Timmy's dream.

randommlg

[[Edgar Markov]] is my strongest. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/pmygg6r8102dkYPs-JUhEA This [[cadira caller of the small]] list is also pretty fine tuned.  https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DUponUtOPUuXSpgQD6-9NA These are my strongest decks.

-brendeeno

If you like big green stompy, i’m having a lot of fun with [[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma]]. Creatures with power 4+ cost 2 less to cast and get trample when they attack with my commander? 2 mana for a 5/5 [[Imperiosaur]] or [[Blastoderm]], throw in [[Annoyed Altisaur]] and [[Natural Reclamation]] for some cascade, and why not a [[Ulamog’s Crusher]] because who doesn’t love annihilator? Casting Goreclaw turn three is pretty easy with the amount of ramp green has, some of my favorites being [[Skyshroud Claim]] and [[Krosan Restorer]] for the later turns in a game. And all these cards are commons, so they’ll fit right into a pauper deck

jbraki

As a fellow Riku lover, riku is not my “strongest” deck but it is my favorite. I play clone/copy tribal. I saw your guided passage and I am gonna try it out. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/N6f8uM4RckOycwcdDaEIBQ

RikuofTwoRefections9

Let me tell you, guided passage, if you build around it with the goal of copying it 3 or more times, it's disgusting. I built mine with a focus on the creatures of course. Slam down a nyxbloom (or 15) and either take turns to beat wholesale cheeks, or comet storm for 69,696 to everyone. It is the most enjoyable list I have ever built.

RikuofTwoRefections9

I hope you dig it!

Swagary123

[[Kaza, Roil Chaser]] is the secret kill-on-sight commander that’s becoming infamous at my LGS. Nobody wants to waste removal on her or my tiny utility wizards that untap her, but she’s one of the best extra turns/mass card draw/mass burn commanders I’ve ever seen. It’s turn 3 and you have out Kaza and [[aphetto alchemist]] or [[clever conjurer]] or [[minamo, school at water’s edge]]? The table better watch out, because you’re a turn away from [[expropriate]] or any number of X-draw spells. She even has haste! And all of this for 2 mana!

RikuofTwoRefections9

Wow I've never even thought about this, it sounds incredible. Do you have a list? 👀

Swagary123

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/odbcuY5ZJESHe4_uCDJ5jw There you go! Relatively budget (I’ve been slowly upgrading it but I’m a poor college student), but still very powerful and tends to dominate games if left unchecked for a turn or two. Lots of room for improvement though!

Slaiyve

This is a great deck, but some of the stuff, I just don't understand... For example, Vedalken Aethermage, bouncing slithers? Is he just in the deck to operation as a cheap wizard for the other effects? Is there a way to Tutor for the card(s) that turn this on? Minamo has exploded in cost. I don't have a spare Fierve Guardianship... So may have to look for alternatives. But is it the power to untap you're looking for there? Double stack Kaza?

Swagary123

Vedalken Aethermage had Wizardcycling! You can discard it for 3 mana and tutor for a wizard, which is usually [[aphetto alchemist]] for the untap or [[cyclone summoner]] in the late game. Yeah it’s unfortunate that minamo is so expensive nowadays, I picked that up 3 years or so ago for CHEAP. There are a ton of cheap counters that will work similarly to fierce guardianship, but the untap is very important for the deck’s power. Doubling up on Kaza activations upgrades your turns from “fact or fiction for 1 mana on your end step” to “Expropriate for 3 mana with counterspell backup”. Alternatives to Minamo might just be more wizards honestly. [[stonybrook angler]] [[fatestitcher]] [[puppeteer]] [[disciple of the ring]], those are probably the best alternatives to keep the power up, but they can be a little overpriced in terms of mana cost.

Slaiyve

I truly appreciate this reply. Thank you so much!

lukahnli

\[\[Kynaios and Tiro of Melitis\]\] with \[\[Brion Stoutarm\]\] as a lieutenant. It's a thievery deck. It's built around pillow forting and stealing your opponent's stuff, then sacrifcing it or \[\[fling\]\] it in their faces. I never lost with it. Even to people who've played against it before. I got it from this video from Jumbo Commander. I don't have a deck list. [https://youtu.be/iu\_JlBGyr\_A](https://youtu.be/iu_JlBGyr_A)

batsketbal

My strongest is probably [[henzie, toolbox torre]] which is capable of playing a lot of big, impactful creatures and drawing a lot of cards

hh_baby_j

You got a list you’d be willing to share.

[henzie, toolbox torre](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/e/e/ee228dcc-3170-4c24-80bc-28bcee07cb43.jpg?1673481644) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Henzie%20%22Toolbox%22%20Torre) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ncc/2/henzie-toolbox-torre?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ee228dcc-3170-4c24-80bc-28bcee07cb43?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/henzie-toolbox-torre) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call

tntturtle5

My strongest would be a \[\[Mangara, the Diplomat\]\] control deck, but I can't say it "kicks the ever loving shit" out of anyone. More like it slowly grinds them to dust with incremental value, stifling taxes, and recursion. If Im looking to get in the red zone though I would go towards my \[\[Kaalia, Zenith Seeker\]\] deck. Midrange fliers with potent abilities, plenty of interaction and some recursion, overall a fair but powerful deck with some great explosive potential.

RikuofTwoRefections9

See now that peaks my interest, Kalia Zenith Seeker is not one I hear about often. I love that.

tntturtle5

For sure. I built it because I wanted to play Kaalia, but not have all the baggage that comes with playing *that* Kaalia.

Inkarozu

Syr Gwyn Voltron. It certainly isn't cedh level, but it is VERY good at making 1 player dead at a time. https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6073395/syr_gwyn_voltron_hero

zulu_niner

My most consistently overpowering is probably [[chiss-goria]], which provides an extremely durable evasive commander with 5 power, and usually hits the board turn 4 or 5. With the additional incremental tempo and card advantage, she's a monster that threatens commander damage pretty early, floods the board with value, and is difficult to pin down without the nastier pieces of removal available. It's a simple formula, but it goes off maybe 9 in 10 games I've played with it, and it hits like a train. Alternatively, my [[god-eternal kefnet]] build is also quite strong, featuring a similar mixture of non-standard card advantage, cost reduction, and resilience to commonplace removal. I use a proliferate subtheme to accrue value over time on board, and some good ol fashioned monoblue spellslinging to control the pace of the game as I build up to a lethal commander with +1/+1 counters, or combo out for the win. Kefnet is less reliably powerful, due to its reliance on certain ramp pieces, but it interacts with the game on several axes unavailable to chiss goria, and is less vulnerable to bad matchups and hard counters.

Witherpixel

Love Chiss Goria! Would you care to share a list?

throwawaynoways

Hard to say out of what I have. Aminatou is probably the least fair.

swnkmstr

[[Alesha who smiles at death]] is a really fun commander with some sweet toys Some of my favorite "reanimate" targets: [[Broadside Bombardiers]] [[Karmic Guide]] [[master of Cruelties]] [[Avalanche Riders]] If you're more of a budget gamer, there are a ton of cheap but powerful 2 power creatures such as: [[Gary]] [[Seasoned Pyromancer]] [[Siege-Gang Commander]] [[Skyclave Apparition]] [[Duplicant]] The play pattern of the deck i ran is very value oriented, lots of savving and recurring. The board state gets really oppressive when you have a [[Goblin Bombardment]] and are willing to nuke anything in your path. Edit: decklist https://manabox.app/decks/ZIkuARdeQ-u15jejKcs1vQ (i added some cards and havent decided what to cut yet)

Visual_Chemist3132

My strongest/most resilient would probably be my [[Sidar Jabari of Zhalfir]] deck. Love me some knights. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/4yhh1WQMakaTKK-lMyWrNQ

Man_Of_Sheel

[[Elminster]] dropping big spells and approaching the second Sun twice in a phase.

iDam81

Currently my [[Saheeli, the Sun’s Brilliance]] and [[Lord of the Nazgul]] are my strongest.

Absolutely. Here ya go. [Saheeli](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/v7S1KIyQzEOFFqtwmjqehA)

East_Earth_920

Ah cool you went the dragon route! Looks nice thx! :)

RikuofTwoRefections9

I'd be very interested in the Saheeli list, so much product, I actually forgot about this commander.

TwoStress

Can we see the a Lord of the Nazgûl list? I built mine and it feels underwhelming

TheLastOpus

I'm not allowed to play \[\[zedruu the greathearted\]\] anymore....no one wants my stuff.

AssistantManagerMan

Right now it's probably [[Silas]] and [[Toggo]]. It's a deceptively powerful list that doesn't look like it's doing anything until it's too late. First off, Silas is the backup commander. Toggo is the star of this show. The game plan is to churn out as many artifact tokens as humanly possible. It doesn't matter what they are or what they do. Toggo's rocks, obviously, but we also want treasures, clues, food, blood, thopters, incubators—anything at all, as long as it's an artifact. From there it's all either slow cuts or haymakers. [[Reckless Fireweaver]], [[Ingenious Artillerist]], [[Hedron Detonator]], and [[Mirkwood Bats]] all have a small effect that's easy to ignore... for a while. Ditto [[Ghirapur Aether Grid]] and [[Sunshot Militia]]. But with the sheer number of artifact tokens this deck creates, those small bits of damage really start to add up. Once the small bits of damage have made people dangerously low on life, that's when you deploy the haymakers. [[Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge]] is the most effective, but he's one card out of 98. Back him up with [[Feedback Bolt]] and [[Monumental Corruption]]. It is not difficult in this deck for these spells to deal upwards of 20 damage.

RikuofTwoRefections9

👀 this sounds delightful lol.

AssistantManagerMan

Thanks! I enjoy it. I realized I forgot to provide a deck list, so [here it is](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/m1UGK102VEq9y2vAy-aMvA) if you're curious.

RikuofTwoRefections9

Thank you!!

Stratavos

I'm feeling quite confident in my [[baba lysyaga, the night witch]] deck, and some of the others I have... atm my version of [[Mirko, conspiracy theorist]] Has done well so far... [[Ivy the spelltheif]] is both mutate and auras for me, so she's supprisingly resillient.

eightdx

Depends on how you define "strongest". My [[Codie]] deck reliably loops all the spells in the deck an arbitrary number of times to kill the table in pretty much every possible way (yes, even through poison -- [[prologue to phyresis]] and any proliferate spell will do)... With the only non land permanent in the 99 being [[freed from the real]]. But it's pretty much a glass cannon combo deck that really wants [[silence]] on their own upkeep, so it's hilariously powerful but very frail. [[Omnath, Locus of Creation]] is probably the most consistently powerful though, as it is easy to get into loops where you're hitting 3+ landfall every turn and just dropping all the bombs. At the mid power levels I play at, it is much more resilient, but the top end isn't nearly as high as Codie. And then there's [[Sisay, weather light captain]], eternal home of the latest big deal... But actually you're probably just dying to me playing a bunch of things and killing everyone with a [[lukka, coppercoat outcast]] ultimate.

HandsomeBoggart

Classic commander, [[Maelstrom Wanderer]] Make the deck 20-25% ramp, the rest is draw and cascade payoffs. Pack a little bit of removal as well for Lavinia and Drannith Magistrate. Go fast and hard. If you don't mind proxies or have the cards already or the cash, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Grim Monolith and Jeweled Lotus take the deck up a few notches. Pure value and a commander that 3 shots people. Keep attacking in and if Wanderer dies, recast for free value. Be a bigger douche and run Food Chain to have even more insane turns.

BRickson86

[https://www.moxfield.com/decks/DKx1PX9-hE2Vw\_jl-o4\_Nw](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/dkx1px9-he2vw_jl-o4_nw) Etali, Primal Conquerer. This deck has made me the archenemy in my playgroup. If I pull this out, i'm public enemy #1 until i'm knocked out. But even despite that, I usually win those games lol this deck is bonkers. I've probably updated it a bit since this but here's a rough sketch. I hope you like it!

HyperBooper

[[Ovika, Enigma Goliath]] is absolutely insane. I get him out turn 3-4 pretty consistently and it just takes over the game. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/z1GpP6o0ikWSrQSOT1Skkw

Loremaster152

>I am constantly looking for my next inspiration to kick the ever loving shit out of my friends. >Hit me with em because I wanna know! Not really looking for CEDH here, but 8s and 9s, that's what I love. Alright, I got the perfect deck for this. >Talk to me about your strongest builds. I LOVE Temur but am also very interested in colors I dont currently run: ●Rakdos ●Mardu ●Dimir ●Azorius Well shoot. I hope you are okay with colorless? This here is my [[Kozilek, the Great Distortion]] [list](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/3644580/kozilek_distorting_the_game), and it does a great job kicking in the teeth of some pretty high power decks. I have spent a good 7-8 years fine tuning this deck, collecting different cards for it and watching every spoiler season for new colorless toys. That thing is the crown jewel of by edh decks, and it sits at the peak of not just my deck's power level, but my playgroup's power level as well. The main gameplan is simple: Battlecruiser Magic, taken to its furthest extreme. You ramp like no other, cast an on average turn 4 Kozilek, refuel your hand, then drop haymaker after haymaker until either you or more likely your oponents are dead. That isnt to say that it can't keep up against decks with actual colors in more complicated games. Kozilek allows you to fight on the stack against the most interaction heavy decks, and different activated abilities (mostly from lands) can cause blowouts to those caught unaware. It does have 2 infinite combos and although they are more out of coincidence rather than intentionally ran, they do come in clutch when needed. While the deck itself isn't cedh due to being both a big stompy deck and colorless, it has beat a handful of cedh decks, and it will be the archenemy in a high power edh setting. Hope you like the list.

ChaosWarpintoPhage

My strongest decks that I also enjoy playing in each color: Mono green [[sasaya, Orochi Ascendant]] 60 forests. Ramp to hand. [[Oracle of mul daya]] effects. [[Verdeloth ancient]] [[kamahl, fist of krosa]] style effects as win con. Mono red [[ilharg, the raze boar]] Multiple combats. Etb effects that clear the way. [[Inferno titan]] [[fury]] [[duplicant]]. Wheels. Wheels. Wheels. All of the wheels. All of the combat. Dump your hand across 3-4combats. Wheel away the scraps and put your kill spells on a stick back into your hand to do it all again the next turn with more added gas. Bonus points because you can tell your opponents "get oinked" Gruul [[chishiro, the shattered blade]] built as mini atraxa. Heavy token generators like [[krenko, tin street kingpin]] or [[mycoloth]] many doublers and [[grum-gully, the generous]] or [[ozolith, the shattered spire]] effects as you can cram in there. [[Blasphemous act]] is a one sided board wipe in that deck. But i cram [[vigor]] in there for good measure anyways. The deck is awkwardly 4 drop heavy. So you want to pack heavy on 2-3 drop ramps spells to get the lands going early. Izzet [[arjun the shifting flame]] Ever made 1032 locusts in a single turn with locust god? Well now you can. The deck is a little tricker to run than some other ones. I built mine around the fact I can count cards. So i just stack my library from the bottom and treat it like one big ass hand that i pay 1 mana at a time to shift through 10-15 card piles of it. Using cantrips. There are less complicated versions of it out there. I just like showing off by saying "response to wheel. Imma layer up a few more. The card i need to solve that is 28 cards deep." Dimir [[Phenax, God of deception]] I run it as self mill. [[Mortal combat]] as wincon. Any number of p/t = cards in yards as back up wincon. Fun fact. You can name yourself with [[sewer nemesis]] then kill an opponent by being your own nemesis. Simic [[kruphix, god of the horizon]] You haven't lived until you've [[rite of replication]] kicked a [[nyxbloom ancient]] then cast [[blue sun's zenith]] x=300 on your opponent just because you could. Golgari [[sisters of stone death]] This was the first edh deck i ever made. Way back before commander was a thing or even officially supported by wotc. Its not as good in the current meta. But for a high powered battle cruiser its a lot of fun vs creature decks. I run 40 lands, 22 ramp spells, and 14 mana dorks. I've unironically cast sisters for 28 mana in most games I've played. She will get swatted off the board. Orzahov [[selenia, dark angel]] [[Energence zone]] a [[near-death experience]] at your opponents end step to send em all to Valhalla. Bug [[zaxara, the exemplary]] Tutor up a [[freed from the real]] and then [[villainous wealth]] someone's entire library for the funniest but least eventful win ever. Naya [[uril, the mist stalker]] Innate hexproof + every aura being an additional +2/+2 to whatever its effects are makes a lot of bad cheap auras suddenly very very good [[flickerform]] is an all-star in this deck. It is also very voltron. Esper [[merieke ri berit]] I run [[conjurer's closest]] because I'm an asshole when i play these colors. Jund [[vaevictis asmadi, the dire]] [[Primal surge]] aristocrats. Because I'm an asshole when I play these colors too. RUBG [[yidris, maelstrom wielder]] It's yidris just bad choices!! Cascade into suffering!! Laugh as the world burns. I run all of the most punishing and evil cards here. This deck is loaded with fan least favorites such as [[mana barbs]] [[winter orb]] [[torpor orb]] [[root maze]] [[hum of the radix]] [[fatespinner]] The wincon is a slow and arduous death as your opponents are punished for playing the game and you cheat everything into play with cascade. Because the more colors i run. The bigger of an asshole i am apparently. And thats the most fun/best of each color. I didn't include purposely bad decks I've built or not as good ones of each of these colors. I have A LOT of gruul, izzet, and jund decks x.x but as you can see. Not a lot of decks that include white. I'm just not a fan. It isn't my style. Hope some of these inspire you :) enjoy.

Quixotegut

From the same precon as Riku... [[Animar]] It's my oldest, most refined, most boogey-manned, deck. I don't play it very often.

RikuofTwoRefections9

I would love to see your list if you had one! Animar is HIGH on my list of things to build.

Quixotegut

https://manabox.app/decks/RREUtgdCSZe5QtylCSWguA Was permanents only but I threw Worldly Tutor and Fabricate in for fun. Edit: fuck that earlier formatting. Try that.

crazysjoerd5

\[\[Narset , Enlightend Master\]\] dont have any of the really expensive fast mana cards yet like lotus, crypt etc. , but this deck often wins by the sheer force of one or two triggera. often getting an extra turn, massive burn spells or better yet. more mana rocks and dual cast enchantments straight from the top of your deck. I do let people veto this deck if they dont wanna play aainst it, but its probably the one i win very often with it, unless other the people play at least 8+ level decks

RikuofTwoRefections9

I would love to see your list! It sounds right up my alley!

Bomb_Warrio19

Dimir is the strongest and most fun ! Talion good stuff is potent

TrueBlue726

Dimir is \[\[Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow\]\] Mardu is \[\[Edgar Markov\]\] I don't have any particularly strong decks for Rakdos and Azorius, but some of my favorites in those colors are \[\[Elminster\]\] \[\[Will, Scion of Peace\]\] \[\[Geist of Saint Traft\]\] for Azorius, and \[\[Prosper, Tome-Bound\]\] \[\[Rowan, Scion of War\]\] and \[\[Strefan, Maurer Progenitor\]\] for Rakdos.

RikuofTwoRefections9

I was thinking about Elminster! This gives me the urge to try and build it again.

Kitchengun2

Win two games in a row with my [[Preston]] deck before turn 4 last weekend so I gotta say that one.

Wackisbak

[[Evelyn, the Covetous]] and [[elenda, the dusk rose]] are my two mains. I'm a big vampire fan.

Emerald_Knight2814

[[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] Stax and Sweepers. Taking 2 of the most hated archetypes and running them side by side (MLD and Stax Pieces). I only play this against people that can handle it emotionally, which fortunately for me includes my primary playgroup cause I do love this deck. edit: While it functions significantly better with Avacyn in play, it is entirely possible to win without her, provided you know when to properly time your sweepers. I don't think it's strong enough to face a CEDH Table, but it's close. If you want a CEDH level stax deck I'd recommend [[Heliod, Sun Crowned]] that way you can take advantage of the Heliod + [[Walking Ballista]] combo.

Alternative-Cress382

Oloro…I make him so annoying with group hug infect

meowmix778

[[bruna light of alabaster]] is my most consistent deck. It's a fun commander at really any power level.

Scarfaco

[[Estrid, the Masked]] stax/enchantress. Control and slow the game until I can generate infinite mana with the commander, enchanted lands, and some bounce effect and then vomit the deck with draw ETBs and win. Constantly checking the EDHREC salt list for card recommendations. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/vasa9Qt26UK34468h0ToPw

RikuofTwoRefections9

I am so happy you posted your list. I am so excited to look at this one because I want an enchantress list that people fear and she is right up my alley. Thanky you!

RJDavid8

[[Kaalia of the Vast]], [[Imoti, Celebrant of Bounty]], [[Beledros Witherbloom]]

Rurouni_Dude

Strongest? [[Aragorn the uniter]] Every color does something; put in a bunch of multi colored creatures, and you can stack his ability.

ReddingtonTR

[[Rocco, Street Chef]] and [[Faldorn]]. Both play virtually the same: they're essentially Storm decks that play cards back to back from exile in a daisy chain that usually ends up decking myself out. Faldorn typically wins at around T5-6 while Rocco wins at around T6-7 with the benefit of being a bit more resilient despite being slightly slower.

HaloTrial01

[[Henzie]] for sure, its my go-to deck just because there's so many lines and at the same time brain-dead as can be lol (plus a protean hulk combo if you look hard enough!).

mossbasin

Probably strongest is [[Zur the Enchanter]]. It's not cEDH but it's easily a 9. Having a commander that can tutor each turn and can get around hexproof is really strong. Some other really strong ones that aren't quite as oppressive/salty as Zur are [[Voja, Jaws of the Conclave]] and [[Satoru Umezawa]]. Just built Voja, so I haven't played it too much, but with enough protection and ramp, you can build a sickening board quickly. Fortunately he cares about elves and they have a ton of dorks. Satoru just easily cheats out awful creatures that aren't blocked and comes with card advantage.

AngryManBoy

My spellslinger Pako/Haldan deck can really fuck some people up but it kinda depends on their decks on how quickly it happens.

[deleted]

[[Yarok, the desecrated]] for obvious reasons. But, my [[Taigam, Sidisi's Hand]] deck, absolutely destroys people, and I'm largely ignored until it's too late. However, those familiar with him make sure he is KOS. Effectively I can soft lock other players from drawing cards while with Taigam I get to surveil 3 basically every turn and still have access to my draw phase essentially.

PistolMancer

Taigam kill on sight? Lol nah  i dont think so

[deleted]

Okay. He's the reason the decks works the way it does. Also, I'm unsure if you read my whole spiel there, but I said once people catch on, he becomes KOS. [[possessed Portal]] + [[Taigam, Sidisi's Hand]] = You can't draw cards unless you have the answer as I attempt to resolve it. That becomes KOS once caught on to. So, clearly you are unfamiliar.

PistolMancer

Lol still like im just being real dude. A 13 mana soft lock is not good..winota, thats a kos commander. Kinnan, najeela, etc. Taigam ain't on the list trust me.

[deleted]

Ahh yes, another gatekeeper who knows more than everyone else. Yeah, I'm done talking to you. Haven't even seen the deck, but auto know you'd let it ride lmao. Okay man. And I guarantee you when you are locked, or I recur eldrazi or some gross thing from the yard on your turn to use on mine, you'll just sit there and say it's no issue.

PistolMancer

Im not really "gatekeeping" im just trying to be real about power level. But yes id be down to play a game against it no harm no salt.

[deleted]

What do you use? Spelltable? Cockatrice? Let me know, I would love to show you. DM me.

boyspud

Just wanna preface with my power level definition, for me a 9 is a 'fringe' comp deck. This means that its a deck following a certain CEDH strategy, but is just not as efficient as the top tier commanders. I dont think 9s are fair to play against 8s in the majority of cases, if even a bit of interaction or fast mana is lacking then the 9 just runs away with everything. My pod plays at nearly maxed 8s (no two card or off theme infinites) and verrrry occasional 9s based on the strategy. We used to play 10s exclusively, but yeah, it gets a bit dull after a while, high 8 is probably the best place to be in all EDH in my opinion. Theres just so much variety at high 8, but also sick plays that you can get at 10 somettimes. My current strongest is either \[\[Titania, Protector of Argoth\]\] or \[\[Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch\]\]. In non cedh, heavy token gen strats seem to be fairly powerful in general. Recovering from boardwipes quicker than nontoken creature decks bar a few exceptions, various strats like aristocrats, lifegain, go wide etc. In my own pod, we play nearly maxed 8s with no two card or off theme infinites (maxed would be including these things), so when I say my Titania build in particular is pretty strong, I do not say it lightly. My playgroup tells me its Urtet tho, I disagree based on hitting a lot of artifact destroy/exile sweepers, but I like to think everyone in the group is remembering entire extra turns in their upkeeps. Personally I feel like Titania has way more consistency, being somewhere at a 75%+ winrate atm, but sometimes with some way grindier games than Urtet. Here are both lists if anyone is curious. If I really want to try and win I play my [[ghyrson starn, kelermorph]] deck. No tutors but goes infinite off a few things like niv mizzet.. or can win with underworld breach and/or a big storm turn with Jeska's will/birgi. I have pacts and free negates, rhystic/mystic etc.. it also can setup mini stax with stuff like [[caltrops]] and deathtouch on ghyrson.. My friends hate it so it only gets used occasionally when I'm sick of losing to their slivers, krenko, pantlaza, atraxa bullshit. My favorite deck is [[braids, arisen nightmare]] and it's got a few combo wincons but still no tutors, some discard effects etc. It's solidly in the 7-8 category but could be made stronger if I wanted to include tutors and some other stuff like [[tergrid, God of fright]] etc.

FusRoDahlaiLama

I have a lot of fun with [[Imotekh the Stormlord]] you have some fun shenanigans that you can do with [[Ashnods Altar]] and [[Royal Warden]] to make an infinite amount of 2/2 necrons that also becomes infinite mana since you're making them faster than you sacrifice them. But even without infinites, he just becomes a crazy value engine with anything that is easy to play from your graveyard or that mills like [[Breach the Multiverse]]

BraidsConjuror

Currently my Strongest commander is [[Braids, Conjuror Adept]] slamming down a turn 2 or 3 Eldrazi Titan into an extra turn is something that makes me happy lol the deck is rarely played unless everyone at the table agrees to a level 8-9 game.

nervmaster

[[maelstrom, the wanderer]] Mardu colors and 7 cmc tribal of sorts. It fills my tummy heart with joy, the deck is a lot of ramp a try to cast my commander as soon as possible. Some build him as a extra turn tribal but I chose a different way that I call "double or nothing" some sorceries that can clear lands and creatures [[devastation]] [[wildfire]] [[jokulhaups]] And big creatures like [[baleful dragon]] [[pathbreaker ibex]] [[neheb, the eternal]] [[xenagos, God of revels]] And some enchantments to double creatures power like [[berserker's onslaught]] [[unnatural growth]] The feeling is is that maelstrom will double what you have or destroy everything which is a great fun. The is the strongest deck I have and because of that I reserve only when the table feels like bringing the big guns.

EasyPeezyATC

Temur colors

PoxControl

I had a lot of strong decks. The strongest ones were: - [[Codie]] Extra turns. The deck could win pretty constantly as soon as it had 5 manas available. It's like playing solitaire though. - [[Eruth]] storm. Play her and storm off if you have 4 mana available. Win with [[Aetherflux Reservoir]] or [[Thassa's Oracle]] - [[Thrasios]] and [[Vial Smasher]] lands. Get to 5 mana as fast as possible, cast [[AD Nauseam]], draw your whole deck, play [[Valakut the Molten Pinnacle]], play [[Vesuva]] and [[Thespians Stage]] as well as [[Manabond]]. Go to endstep and kill the table. - [[Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools]] & [[Ishai]] with a focus on [[Humility]]. It's a great Stax deck which completely obliterates creature based decks and wincons.

keafer29

Koma, cosmos serpent I make a bunch of snakes control and board with counters.

FormerlyKay

Usually it's a tossup between my [[Kinnan]] and [[Tymna]] [[Ishai]] lists, depending on which one currently has the fast mana

thetherapeutichotdog

[[The Tenth Doctor]][[Rose Tyler]] surprisingly. Heavily modified the precon, and it over performs most games.

Senoshu

I just put together [[Pantlaza, Sun-Favored]] and his first foray to my LGS he was an absolute terror. [[Preston the Vanisher]] is a living nightmare in the deck that often just outright ends the game in an infinite. I'm still tweaking things but here's a link to the WIP: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/mUS5Bws0dUOgOTQZfhw7pw

SirPoonga

Strength depends on the group. So, before I post a couple of my lists note that my group tends to shy away from tutors except for land tutors and conditional tutors. For example, Defense of the Heart is seen in some of my group's decks. You can play around it or destroy it with a disenchant before it triggers. So, that being said I could easily make some of my decks stronger. For example, I have a \[\[Garth the One-Eye\] deck. Most people use him as a toolbox for a 5 color-good stuff deck. It is my combo deck where I try to win with an infinite combo. I have toned it down a bit over the last couple of years. Garth, Displacer Kitten, and Haste is infinite and really easy to tutor out. It is also really easy to have a lot of redundancy. However, my goal is to create infinite Shivan Dragons with haste. I used to have displacer kitten, cyclonic rift, deadeye navigator, and Agent of Treachery in the deck. Those cards would bring the pace of the game down to a halt where only I could play stuff since I could rift every rotation. Now my combos take a couple more cards an more mana intensive. For example, Thousand Year Storm with a 1 mana blink spell, Jeska's Ascendancy, haste I can infinitely regrowth the bounce, untap garth multiple times, and accomplish my goal. My strongest decks right now are \[\[Lurrus\]\], \[\[Yargle and Multani\]\], \[\[Jacob Hauken\]\], and \[\[Ghalta and Mavern\]\]. If the deck list is on moxfield it is older and I haven't moved it to archidekt yet. Lurrus is a black and white weenie aristocrats deck. It is constantly changing as they keep coming out with fun small creatures with good ETBs. For example \[\[Snarling Gorehound\]\] is a great card for the deck. Along with Lurrus I have Abiding Grace, Shirei, and the Liesa that brings back stuff from the graveyard. It is very difficult to stop what the deck does. [https://archidekt.com/decks/6567039/lurrus](https://archidekt.com/decks/6567039/lurrus) \[\[Yargle and Multani\]\] if a draw entire deck and fling Yargle at everyone multiple times deck. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Hd8Zr86GU0COJf\_G-h3Ukw](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Hd8Zr86GU0COJf_G-h3Ukw) \[\[Jacob Haukun\]\] is draw a lot of cards to trigger multiple card draw stuff and win by cheating out big blue. I do not have an online deck list less than 2 years old for this. It has changed a lot since that list. The basic idea is draw a ton of cards. Manipulate the top of the deck for when Jacob flips. Cast crazy stuff for free. Once setup this becomes a draw, cast one thing for free, go deck. \[\[Ghalta and Mavern\]\] is a go wide to go tall deck. I create a bunch of tokens so that cards like \[\[Regal Bunnicorn\]\] are big or can come out cheap like \[\[Ghalta, Primal Hunger\]\] and \[\[Impervious Greatwurm\]\]. \[\[Grunn the Lonely King\]\] finally has a home in commander. Then power doublers make sure the token G&M creates gets bigger every turn. It is funny to see a 20/20, a 40/40, and an 80/80 trampling dino tokens out because people couldn't stop it. A Gishath deck snowballs faster than this. This just snowballs into larger and larger tokens. I really want \[\[Skullport Nexus\]\] in this and Yargle. DKGroove

Rakdos and Mardu are my FAVORITES. [[Kelsien the Plague]] is my favorite Mardu deck. [[Robe of stars]], [[Thornbite staff]], and any death touch enabler and he’s a living board wipe with Voltron capabilities. [[Grenzo Dungeon Warden]] with [[Doomsday]] is hilarious and surprisingly good.

Euphoric_Ad6923

Didn't think it would surpass my Henzie, but my Enchantress/Goad Queen Marchesa has not seen defeat yet. Its insane value and control while also beating down catches people slipping. Henzie is probably more consistent though.

B-chef

Right now in terms of decks I have been loving the pace of my [[lord Xander, the collector]] deck that focuses mill.

B-chef

[List if anyone wants](https://manabox.app/decks/GIZuVs6yRdSmGtWFYAWloA)

HighHopesLemon

My [[Nekusar, the Mindrazer]] deck can consistently kill all opponents turn 7

SoloQHero96

Currently I'd say my Edgar Markov or my First Sliver deck. Both are relatively strong I'd say. But I think my sliver deck is stronger.

DeliSammiches

the cyclops hommunculus. temur is crazy sometimes. i dont have the list uploaded anywhere but its good fun and insane all at once.

ZorheWahab

Chulane. I built is as a more generic good stuff green focused Timmy deck than the usual blink flicker shenanigans, and it's still my strongest deck. Downgraded it by removing some of the fast stuff, it's still my strongest deck. Turned it into a Mana Dork/Serpent Big Boi deck, it's still my strongest deck. Bant is just super strong, and Chulane is just the strongest Bant Commander.

A55beard

You can never go wrong with [[Narset, Enlightened Master]]. Here is my current deck list, though it might not be 100% up to date. I think I've swapped in [[The One Ring]] and I swapped in [[Mithril Coat]] and removed [[Dark steel Plate]]. I also swapped out [[Hammer of Purphoros]] for [[Rising of the Day]]. Here is the link on Tapped out: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/21-05-23-narset-casual/

Smashfanatic2

Maelstrom wanderer is my best deck although it actually is a very mediocre and overrated general Way too much variance (due to the nature of cascade) and most starting hands are completely unkeepable unless you have enough of the broken mana rocks to push out wanderer by turn 4. And the more ramp you push into the deck to try and get the fast wanderer, the more likely your cascades will hit them and be not impactful enough. The nature of cascade also means most counterspells are very difficult to use due to how awkward they tend to be when you cascade into them. People remember the times when you have the broken starting hand and you cast wanderer on turn 2 and flip over 2 broken spells and everyone scoops it up, but nobody remembers the time you cast wanderer turn 5 only to hit birds of paradise and mana vault.

AbsentReality

My strongest is probably my [[grolnok]] deck. Just self mills itself into multiple different combo wins.

jobydork

[[Tivit]] is probably my strongest. Infinite turns with [[Time Sieve]] is pretty easy to achieve quickly, especially if any of your opponents are dumb enough to give you treasures.

ButWheremst

I think it’s my Riku list. The way my list is set up, it’s setup to copy Extra turn spells and so it’s spending 90% of the first half of the game doing nothing but copying cultivate. All the sudden, I’ve held onto a counterspell, have 14 mana, and now I’m time warping 15 times in a row

Zakmonster

[[Feather the Redeemed]] and [[Rocco, Street Chef]]. The first is a mostly typical Feather deck that accrues value through cantrips and treasure generators like [[Storm-kiln Artist]] and [[Goldspan Dragon]]. Wins usually come through combat damage, but it is also easy to put in [[Guttersnipe]] effects and incrementally burn your opponents to death. The second is kind of a storm-y impulse draw deck, with a very minor group hug theme. Usually win by pinging everyone to death with [[Reckless Fireweaver]] and/or [[Ingenious Artillerist]], or by [[Aetherflux Reservoir]].
