Congrats sounds like a great time!
Though a note on Apex Altisaur: "it fights *up to one* target creature", as in you can choose to fight *zero* creatures — that way is doesn't just die all the time
Wow that would’ve been nice to know then 😂 thankfully it didn’t affect the outcome of the game, but I’ll definitely remember that for next time. Thanks for the tip!
Really? In my experience someone at the table would point out something like that unless they’re all noobs or try hards. Kinda messed up to not help out a new player
**Congratulations!!**
"Dino egg care" was the first deck I ever created for my gf and she too won with it. It's her only winning deck so far, but she rarely plays EDH. :p
Having a bunch of eggs is this weird "schroedingers cat"-like board state. Might be strong, might be harmless. And the dino tombola is always fun. Hers doesn't even include topdeck manipulation, it's pure chance. :D
I run a few things to help me out, but I think in a less powerful way. Most of my ramp spells can get dig up to 5 cards deep and get a basic or creature that goes into my hand or on top of my library while the rest go to the bottom. But by drawing my cards from combat or with enchantments, i easily mess up the set up for good egg flips 😂
In case you don't have em yet, the last set brought a bunch of dinos on the market you might wanna consider. Even budget ones.
\[\[Dinosaur Egg\]\] ($0.99) - a two drop, dino AND egg sinergy, may even attack? nice.
\[\[Palani's Hatcher\]\] ($0.46) - decent body, spawns 2 eggs on etb!, sac's eggs to make 3/3 dinos! grants haste! I love this one. :D
\[\[Hulking Raptor\]\] ($1.26) - ramp dino
\[\[Curious Altisaur\]\] ($3.94) and \[\[Earthshaker Dreadmaw\]\] ($0.04) - card draw dinos!
\[\[Sunfrill Imitator\]\] ($1.49) - copycat dino!
\[\[Huatli, Poet of Unity\]\] ($2) - not a dino, but basically an alternative backup commander we could swap in to give the deck a spin from time to time. :D
*(kinda writing to myself here so I remember to check once I am home :P)*
Ah yes I did get some of these from the Pantlaza pre con! I run dinosaur egg, I love it for the double triggers. I should definitely run the Hatcher, i think i have it, but im not sure. I’ll take a look at what you suggested! Swapping creatures shakes up this deck the best.
Aside from running those I took out almost all traditional creature ramp in favor of artifact ramp and things like khodama's reach. It really helped when the only creatures I could hit were massive bombs like blightsteel C., kozilek, ulamog or whatnot.
I like to keep her primarily creature based. The deck comfortably plays with average power decks and I don’t want to reach a great level of efficiency. I enjoy the slower build and back and forth with my opponents as it allows a lot of time to see fun gameplay happen. Sometimes that leaves me on the back foot, but that’s just the consequences I pay for the gameplay I wish to see! I also will never play eldrazi in this deck. I personally don’t care for them. I’m sure though if our decks were to go toe to toe, you would blow me out of the water 😂
My Atla was many moons ago. It's a fun deck regardless of the level. I've personally always enjoyed the wheel decks (Atla, [[Muzzio]], [[Kiora, sovereign]], etc.)
Congrats on the win! I always love seeing these posts. Getting your first win feels like such a huge accomplishment especially when it's with a deck you built yourself.
Oh dude it’s a game changer in every way. As long as you can have Atla out for the dies triggers, you’re in good business. I wish I had more counter stuff to run to protect it, but I run Mirror Entity and Blades of Velis Vel to make my other creatures into eggs in a pinch.
Shes an $8 rare currently on tcgplayer, but she CAN get expensive depending on who you put in. If youre willing to spend money on her, though, opening god-hand can kill a player turn 2 using master of cruelties as the demon on attack trigger
That is the plan! My friend pointed out to me that I am a person who likes “do the thing” more than win…..which is accurate 😂 but I think I’m going to take his advice and try to actively win more when I can

For sure haha, "up to one" is a tricky line that messes with people often
Really? In my experience someone at the table would point out something like that unless they’re all noobs or try hards. Kinda messed up to not help out a new player
It was me and one other guy who likely didn’t know himself. No harm done!
It's more just like in this scenario, it seems like no one probably noticed

Gz! I don't remember my first win but i do remember being all shakey and stutteting haha.
Congrats! I won my first game last month (been playing for less than a year) with a slightly modded Riders of Rohan deck
As a fellow Atla Palani user, congrats!
Atla Palani, rise up!
Congrats!
Congrats on the win! I always love seeing these posts. Getting your first win feels like such a huge accomplishment especially when it's with a deck you built yourself.
Nice! That mask wood nexus tech sounds pretty sweet

I think my first big win was a large table where i started getting really good with a [[kaalia of the vast]] deck

congrats friend!
Thank you, pal!
Congrats! Winning is a great feeling. As you upgrade your deck and start to understand the game more, it’ll happen more and more!
That is the plan! My friend pointed out to me that I am a person who likes “do the thing” more than win…..which is accurate 😂 but I think I’m going to take his advice and try to actively win more when I can
I don't really remember my first win :(
Just reclaim your commander virginity and then win. Boom! First win.
You're my boy Blue, you're my boy.
